I’m really sorry guys.
Being the only Thief in the entire country to use sword and shadow trap in WvW I feel partly responsible for some of these nerfs effecting the game beyond Spvp.
New TA path is a nice place togo for a quick shower. ;x
There’s no love for any-armor Sylvari in multiple aspects, actually.
That particular shoulder piece does the same thing on Medium T3. I always avoided due to all back pieces hating it.
The T2 set is more friendly.
At least we aren’t Charr. Everything is stretched and your horns and tail clip through literally everything.
The stretching part applies to us, especially males. About 90%~ of the Medium armor does, mostly.

need /flex first.
-1 Weapons, I don’t care to use the skin and I had unmet expectations with Tequatl weapons. (I expected grotesque weapons made of corpses.)
Armor just depends. I like the Light and Medium~ The Medium, like all Medium, doesn’t fit male Sylvari correctly, which is the only thing I dislike. The helm is odd though on Medium, and I don’t like the Light shoulders.
The heavy armor is repulsive to me.
So:
+ 1 Light.
½ + on Medium because it has incorrect scaling that I’m simply just sick of.
- on Heavy.

meow.
It’s hard to tell what the functionality of the item is from just a screen shot, so I’m here to clarify. This screen shot actually shows the Bloody Prince Thorn costume and not an armor skin, so it is not usable in combat.
Why do this?
The Mad King Thorn armor and the Bloody Prince Thorn armor are both awesome. I really wish they and other town clothing were able to be used in combat… GW1 did their costumes right, why do worse wit GW2? :/
I think there is an issue or immersion here. Costumes are not armour class specific and so you can have a warrior running around in a silly looking costume. In GW1 costumes were added late in the game’s life and the rules of what was immersion breaking vs what would increase revenue from the game were relaxed. It didn’t matter as much that female warriors could be on the front lines in Gwen’s wedding outfit or the Dwayna costume.
In GW2 I guess we are still in a situation where the immersion of the game outweighs the ability to wear novelty costumes in combat.
Still, I find it confusing this particular item is a costume and not a light armour. There is nothing about this that looks like it shouldn’t be armour for a light class.
I’d prefer wearing whatever I wanted, personally. Like DCUO for example. I was happy when they added Radiant armor because I thought my thief could finally escape medium armor and wear the armor of spoiled warriors, but they didn’t add the rest of the set.
Medium armor doesn’t look very protective anyways, I don’t think I really need it. I’d be more mobile in town clothes and still be the same amount of squishyness. Plus I’d be able to blend in better in crowds and steal things easier. I see no break in immersion here. XD
PS: I’d also have no trench coat to trip over accidentally or get snagged on bushes when I’m trying to run.

I barely spent any money reaching 500. =/ Most of my ori and ancient wood came from salvaging items too, from champs, invasions and wvw. I also took my time because I didn’t really care, there wasn’t much reason to rush it. Just play the game normally and the mats pile up. I wouldn’t be against it being available other ways, although I personally am bored of fractals.
Armor on the other hand might be a bit tedious when it comes out. 1-2 weapons is pretty simple but 6-12 armor pieces is a bit disturbing.

I’ve tried a mix of Rampager + Rabid (ascended trinkets) + Berserker on my Warrior and Necro and it’s pretty powerful both ways and actually prefer them better that way. Never tried it on Thief though. Death Blossom doesn’t really do much non cond damage. Cloak and Dagger with P/D would do some nice crit damage I’m sure.
I never used or had any care towards Divinity Runes, so I have no idea about that.
I have Traveler Runes though and I absolutely adore them. Having 3 utility slots is just awesome, and if you use signets you pretty much get a chunk of lost stats back.
Getting rid of SoS opens so many fun doors up.
Maybe these guys in Lion’s Arch?
Those are Tengu; aka: Samurai Werebatbirds.
They will most likely be the next race added, whenever it happens.
Hopefully Cantha comes with them, or it can come first, and then make them playable after. Either way is fine. ;3
1. My negative reactions to GW2 armor boil down to: too many medium trench coats and not enough light armor pants. In the past, armor that others felt made them look like a bad kitten, I thought just made them look bad (reference: shoulder armor three times the size of the character’s head).
2. Down-leveling does not make the experiences as it would be if you were on level. So, it takes me 2-3 hits to kill a mob rather than1, and they can hurt me. I have a hard time thinking anyone finds one-hitting a mob that could not even hit them to be even remotely interesting.
3. No, thanks. I’d be happy to see a GvG PvP mode, but not open world PvP.
4. Meh. I like moving faster, it doesn’t have to be on a mount.
Honestly, I think all of these wants are a product of playing other games, usually, the first game a player really likes. That was the reason I found WoBorecraft to not be a game for me.
This post makes the most sense here. Should move it to the top and change the thread title.
Can’t forget to add the scaling issue with armor on non-humans too, which is one of the reasons all the coats annoy me.
I want to learn more about my Treebros and the Sylvari mystery that vanished from storyline once it reached choosing an Order. :<
I do, and I love Trahearne. He can be king as long as I’m the prince. :<
What if it’s more OP than the Mad King scepter. Is that possible?
He said I Rock. :o
I remember my Assassin in Diablo 2, who was phoenix strike and did the most insane dmg imaginable, being banned from the end of Act 4 due to Iron Maiden curse instakilling me with dmg reflect from 1 auto attack.
I guess it could be worse. :o
I saw that clown pop up in wvw staring at me from the bushes before they announced it, so I had no idea wtf was going on. ;x …was creepy.
I had same issue with headband. I thought there was gonna be 3 different types of head pieces to follow your own path, lore-wise but only mask players get new headpieces. The only other headband and hood are Order armor, and the headband is barely noticeable.
I deleted my mule alt and made a Theif alt a long time ago and logged into game with him, summoned bank golem and transmuted the headpieces onto low lvl tradable white items from TP and now I have a bunch of them in storage for when I need them. Just make sure you don’t leave your tranny stones on’em when you delete.
The clowns stealing yer plants?
The real question is why isn’t there medium armor identical to GW1 Assassin Kurzick and Luxon armor in the game, period?
IMO, crit change above 50% is a waste, especially if you have Fury. =/
Nothing. Welcome to the AION loot system
I understand your frustration but NOTHING is as bad as or worse, or as tormenting as Aion’s loot system. That game’s RNG caused me severe mental trauma that causes Korean MMOs to scare the **** outa me.
I gave up on getting the weapon I wanted at around my 250th fractal tho. Just don’t worry about the weapon and think of it as gathering 20 slot bags.
I’d rather have a Gargoyle like the one on the tip of that Scythe staff.
As long as there’s nothing as loud as the Chainsaws. Still traumatized by grouping with a Warrior using Dual Chainsaws long time ago. XD
The Crossing was one of the best. Too bad I had to sell the one I found. :<
btw; When do I get a crossbow shortbow for hunting vampires?
If they make it permanent, it might be more balanced and popular than both Smite and Guild Wars 2 tPvP :p
It’s possible. Especially if they recycle animations and make 4 unique skills for each class for QWER skills.
…and add a Teemo Quaggan.
rather have lots now than needing lots later but not enough. Kinda like karma, where i am glad i stockpiled a lot back when it was so easy to get in abundance.
But we have absolutely no idea if anything will require this excessive amount they’re giving us. :o You only need 5 bricks for an ascended weapon.
I just didn’t feel like my original red color matched well along side my skin color on the leaves. So I dropped all my red/orange colors for white and black, and everything still glows blue.
Now he’s more of a winter Sylvari. Looks pretty cool now,
I’m happy with my skin color; never changing it. :o
…and the last pic cuz it amuses me.
You can leave whenever you want to, and don’t have to stand around for hours gathering people together and planning before doing it. Totally different things, really.
Meow? Working as intended, inventory space-filler wise I guess.
I was hoping they’d expand that minigame. it was pretty cool. Too bad there’s no Spvp maps like that.
no worry, PW will be nerfed in the next patch from what i heard,
enjoy it while you still canPW already took a 15% nerf about a year ago.
why are they going to nerf it again if anything it needs a dmg increase.
The Quickness nerf across the board also nerfed it. I don’t like it, personally. The animation takes too long and roots you.
TDLR; Cantha is a mix between different cultures and someone who, at that time, worked for NCsoft didn’t like that so they scrapped the idea for Cantha at that moment.
.
Why does racism like this still exist in 2013?
Mask instead.
it is the reincarnation of Gwen <3
You mean Olias.
Yea it is a blast to play stealthless S/D like guild wars 1 assassin. Ofcourse that is the reason why I picked this class in the first place.
Had no idea it could do perma stealth shenanigans.
Mainly that only exists through D/P using a camera exploit though. That playstyle isn’t really very fun/entertaining to me after a while.
Main thing I don’t understand is it isn’t powerful at all vs heavy cond builds, and super tanky builds still never die against it, boons or not.
Spvp also shouldn’t influence WvW and PvE nerfs as well.Yes it’s not powerful at all, people just QQ-ing around because they don’t know how to counter S/D, Me myself main d/p, and before d/p I main S/D( like 2 month ago), I know the pros and cons of s/d and this build can be counter.
That and I think people are just angry/bitter that a dying Thief, losing the battle, was able to escape after losing 90% of his HP in 1-3 hits. S/D is the most fun set to use imo because it follows closer to GW1 Assassin style and can be played with little to no stealth. You’d think all these stealth QQers would appreciate that but nooo. We’re not allowed to have anything.
@EragamerLG: Obviously, every profession can be played multiple ways. Personally though, I don’t need to have those weapons for my thief. I’m just saying that a stealthy thief class doesn’t make me think “ooh, rifles and torches and hammers!” And as far as GW assassins using the 2nd profession to wield magic…that’s a dual profession. So the assassin aspect couldn’t, but the mesmer aspect could. So thieves could use magic…if they weren’t just thieves but thief wizards. We’re not in GW2. In GW2 magic stealthy class = mesmer.
They don’t need to dual class to be able to, it’s part of their function to be able to use any weapon.
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Way_of_the_Master
Deadly Arts in GW1 also consisted of a lot of magic, you could say they were Dark/Shadow magic users. Lotta attacks, hexes/curses and signets that were magic based.
Even Shadow Arts is same as magic. ;/
Some builds would use Staff for high energy just to spam those skills. You didn’t need a secondary class to do that.
Main thing I don’t understand is it isn’t powerful at all vs heavy cond builds, and super tanky builds still never die against it, boons or not.
Spvp also shouldn’t influence WvW and PvE nerfs as well.
Where are you getting these screens? Other than from the guy who already posted them? I have looked on Guild Wars 2’s Facebook and they are not there. Can you please post a verifiable source?
From the media page:
Kinda destroys the spoiler part now.
Why use racial skills in wvw? o.O That wastes slots for valuable thief skillz.
Just pick the race you think’s the sexiest.
Anyone else come here and just lol’d because it’s mostly PvE?
I was very disappoint.
Shiro
New outfits? I’m worried and scurred. :x Will it fit if so?
How does one put legs into that armor on the right?
It stretches? :P
I love Underwater combat/everything, unfortunately it’s very unfinished and underdeveloped. Hoping one day they’ll release some large underwater areas along side finishing underwater versions of all utilities and maybe even a separate trait page for wetness. Then it’ll be awesome.
Here is a little secret. You get tons of them from WvW. Just follow the zerg and take keeps. Make sure you hit the champion keep lord for credit.
This is why I have more of that ore than I need.
Do you beautiful folks at Anet really want us to have this much Bloodstone Dust? 40-50 stacks easily thrown at us, especially from Scarlet events?
Are there like… crazy plans for it in the future? like 250 Bricks to craft an item? I mean, there has to be a reason these are landslided at us~ either an unintended drop chance that needs tweaked still, or we’re going to need that much of it to idk… build a brick castle?
Is it safe to delete these tons of stacks of excess dust?
I like the Medium armor for my Thiefie, but unfortunately I’m a male Sylvari, which means skirts will never fit me properly.
