How about try running some dungeons and fractals ? even if you don’t need the gear some of them are really cool and should be run at least once.
Or go PvP to kick kitten ? or WvW if you want large scale fights
Or you can go try some World Bosses, like Tequati.
Or you can just wait until the new update comes and we have more living story to play
I took a break for 3 months so I didn’t know about the awesome Ward Robe update. Thus I now have several transmuted items that I want to split to get the stats back, but there is no longer a way to split them. So A net, can you put the splitter back for people like me pls, Thanks.
Hi, I just lock in after 3 months and realize some big changes in the Transmutation System, which is a huge improvement in my opinion.
However, I now have some already transmuted items that I want to break to get both stats (since I can apply skins now there is no point keeping 2 items in one ). The problem is I can’t find the Transmutation Splitter anywhere. So can someone tell me how to split transmuted items with the new system ? Thanks
400 per sec means 12 k per 30 sec, which is slightly more than healing surge (10k ). But if you fight against bursty enemy without being super tanky, the fight will very likely not last 30 sec so u will not get much out of healing signet. More over, healing signet is susceptible to poison in its entire duration (which healing surge can avoid by waiting for it to cool off ). With those disadvantages, I don’t see how healing signet being OP unless u want to claim healing surge is equally OP as well. So logically, healing signet is far from OP, anyone who claim that are just unreasonably looking for a cheap way to beat warrior.

You must have really good internet or too used to the 400 ping. But for me it’s normally unplayable during peak time and very hard to do anything useful in WvW fights, since all my skills take a sec to respond and laggy as hell. It’s no different from playing with a handicap and create a major disadvantage for Oceania and SEA players who don’t have monster internet in both PvE and PvP
For straight 1v1 or small group fights, it may attract some people. But it will never be big shows like Lol or DOTA, simply because the game wasn’t designed to be watched that way. There are only 8 classes, and each has few viable builds, compared to hundreds champions with thousands different abilities and playing styles for LOL and DOTA, it’s impossible for GW2 to compete in that market.
GW2 is designed to be in the direction of games like WoW not Lol or DOTA.
Yes but WoW has events for their PvP, big events/tournaments.
Then GW2 can have more tournaments too, when it gets more popular. Still, I believe only experienced WoW players would be interested in watching WoW tournaments, for people who don’t understand the game and classes and builds , it’s really pointless and no fun to watch unlike Lol and DOTA.
Love killing warriors with legendarys while roaming solo with my ranger #BestFeelingEver
Isn’t it strange that legendaries give the initial impression that the wielder is an experienced/skilled player when in fact they pretty much mean nothing at all?
Even if you’re consciously aware that legendaries don’t really have any prestige attached to them, the initial impulse when you see someone using one is kinda like “Ah, this guy thinks he’s hot kitten, I’ll show him what’s what!”
Legendaries mean the guy has likely spent a kittenload of time in PvE, mean he is probably not great at PvP, so it’s actually a good thing to fight them.
Few people realize how shallow bag of trick the warrior has. It’s designed to be in a straight up raw stat fight and bullwalk through opponents, and if u get into that kind of fight, do not complain that u lose. From what I know, condi Necro is probably the only class that can go in a straight stat comparing fight with War and win.
Still, I’m totally fine with giving Warrior less raw number if they are given more sophisticated tricks (stealth, utility, clones, teleport, or better access to conditions all sound great )

Hi, I have played this game in Europe server for a few months from Oceania and I must honestly say that the connection is fairly poor from here ( 450 ping on average, 300 at best, 1k at worst ). And based on my research, the ping from NA server is only slightly better at 350 on average. Many of my fellow Oceanics do not play the game mainly because of this reason.
So I think it would be really great if NC soft can consider setting up a new server in Oceania. This server will not only help Oceanic players, but also for many many players from 11 SEA countries who can’t speak Chinese or Korean to enjoy the game a lot more. I believe it in long term, the server will be beneficial for this game as well as NC soft’s future online games to get a solid foothold in Oceanic and SEA markets.
If one piece of armor is that much, the whole set will be no different from crafting a legendary itself. Considering how ugly the armors look, I strongly against it.
Hi I’m currently playing in WhiteSide Ridge in Europe and the connection has become fairly poor recently. So I just wonder if the connection from NA servers is any better or worse than that of Europe and by how much ? Any Oceanic players who have experience playing in both pls let me know, ty.
So, heres the thing. Neither d/d or p/d has blind on their weapon skills. The only way for either of those sets to blind someone is by traits or utilities, which aren’t weapon exclusive. I suggest you do a little research before calling a class OP.
Also, I have 1v1’d condi thieves and won. Does that make me a god?
There is a counter to stealth, it’s called learning to play against it. For an x/D thief to stealth, they need to get within 130 range of you, and if they’re that close to you, then they’re probably doing for a cloak and dagger. Block it, evade it, blind it, CC it. You said you’re a warrior main, why not break out some of that cc you guys have? Or blocks?
Torment is a strong condition, yes, but not as strong as burning, which a lot of other classes have access to, but thieves don’t.
The poison argument is valid, but since you play a warrior, poison is one of the few (if not the only) ways to counter healsig. So.. Yeah.
Funny that u tell me to do research when clearly forget a few things yourself:
-Condition thief always run condi duration food, in addition to the Runes, stat allocation etc , they normally always have 50-70 % longer blind duration
-They have access to Cloaked in Shadow, which give 6-7 sec more blind on stealth, as well as Last Refuge minor trait. DD thief can also run this but it’s not common as far as I know.So pls research the build more before you talk
About the Dagger 5, try playing Warrior sometimes and see how easy it is to avoid it, especially if the thief do it while in stealth. Also, it has a rather short 6 sec cool down
I killed PD thief sometimes too, but it’s mostly because either the players behind it were pretty poor and made some nooby mistakes or if I run full counter build with Melandru Rune, multiple condition removers and -40% condition duration food. Still, in both case it normally take pretty long and frustrating fights to kill them and I still lose more than win. If it was any other builds I can safely say that I would get most of them in less than 10 sec.
Fair enough call on the duration of the blinds, but they still have the same amount of access to blinds as a d/d thief.
I’ve seen plenty of thieves who rune cloaked in shadow and last refuge as a burst spec. Since both of those traits are in shadow arts and both builds use that line I dont see why you couldn’t run it.
I’ve played warrior, and it was stupidly easy to kill thieves. The whole class was actually pretty easy. Very very forgiving too. Also, how exactly do thieves use cloak and dagger from stealth? Unless you mean chaining it off of you, in which case maybe you should move around more.
But I mean, sure. Lets nerf another viable thief build into the ground, so you can kill thieves with ease.
:^)
I bet you only say thief is weak because you main thief. Surely DD thief no longer as powerful as before but a skilled DD can still be a monstrosity (While the noobs can no longer have free win with it, which is a good thing )
But PD condi thief is not only viable, it’s rather stupidly easy ( probably even more than Condi Necro, those are easy to play but can also be countered effectively )

As a warrior main, I agree that D/D thief no longer need nerf, in fact they could use a bit of buff. The P/D condition thief on the other hand, need serious nerfs: Almost perma stealth, almost perma blind, 3 k armor, ranged, ignore opponent armor, that’s just too much. I test it in PvP and have been murdering people without even trying.
Pro tip, condi thieves have been around forever.
As for your argument…
>Almost perma stealth
Same amount of stealth as d/d
>Almost perma Blind
A d/d thief can do this too
>ranged
Other classes can use ranged weapons, why is it op when a thief does it?
>Ignores armor
Again, this isn’t just a thief thing, all condi ignores armor.
>3k armor
Thank Anet for the introduction of dire gear, before it every condi thief ran carrion. So anyway, the reason why the number of condi thieves is on the rise is because post patch, mainhand sword and off hand pistol will be subpar. So we’re left with d/d and p/d.
Also, p/d set got 2 buffs a little while ago, making them a bit more effective.
I have to disagree with your opinion about the blind and the ranged:
-P/D thief has more blind than DD, that’s obvious
-Do you realize that having an effective ranged build for a class that has high mobility and can stay invisible for a very long time is no different from giving them God mode ?
Since there is no real counter to stealth, they can easily keep the distance.
And if u manage to get close during their short period without stealth, they can blind you or just use their mobility to get away before keeping up their barely different from cheating routine.
Even if u somehow manage to catch and deal damage to them you will realize that they can take quite a few hit.
What even worse is that they have access to some sick conditions like torment (punish you heavily for trying to chase them ), poison (sry no healing allowed here ).

Sever population is not equal to WvW population and hardcoreness.
Isn’t it natural that people who spend more time and effort should get more ?
Just because this game being "casual " doesn’t mean players should have everything given to them at minimum effort. And while it does take longer for casual players to get the top stat items, u will get it eventually as long as u play regularly.
In fact the top stat items in the game which is ascended can be obtained by casual players almost as fast as hard core players. The ascended trinket is mostly about daily/monthly laurels. The ascended weapons demand basic daily materials that can be farmed pretty easily, with the exception of Dragonite Ore (which can also be obtained easily by spending 40 min per day killing Jormag and Shatterer ).
Now last but not least, dungeons, you don’t need to be a hardcore players to run dungeon daily, do you ? Most dungeon paths are pretty easy when you know them.
So all in all, I believe that casual players can still get top items without much difficulty, only that it may take a little longer than hardcore players (for obvious reason ) so that all needed is a bit of patience
I would say that this is true for some classes particularly the Necro, they can burst multiple people down incredibly fast while having a kittenload of tankiness, and condition removers don’t work well since they can continuously spam multiple conditions.
But It’s not so much for the other classes though: Mesmer relies on primarily on confusion and retaliation which can be countered by simply not using skilld when it’s up. Warrior relies primarily on Bleed which take a lot of time to stack and can be clean off easily. Engineer can deal kittenload of condition damage but they can be killed with ease unlike Necro. Thief uses Blind and Bleed which make them a less durable but more annoying Warrior. So all in all Necro conditions or tankiness need to be tone down a bit, the others not so much.
Another thing that I could add is Power/Crit builds actually have edge when fighting against conditions due to the fact that they don’t have any wasted stat in toughness + they generally have considerably higher dps (unless u bring the {extremely tanky }Necro to the table ) + conditions (except Necro conditions ) can be cleaned with ease if u equip the right skills ( dont know about other classes but Warrior has an 8 sec -100% condition duration and Mesmer has a skill that transfer 3 conditions back to the enemy, both can be brutal if u are in a high dps build )

Extreme lag since Nightmare tower patch, this appear to be long term and serious so I will quit the game until my Internet or Anet is improved
The game has been extremely laggy after the Nightmare Tower patch. But it appears only a handful and expendable number of players suffer from this so no kitten has been given so far. Are u in Oceania btw ?
Meanwhile the Ultimate titles
I’m having the same problem just recently, the game has become extremely laggy after the Nightmare Tower patch 2 weeks ago. I posted several times about this issue hoping for a fix and received a warning instead.
So, to put it simple:
1: Do not play this game if you are in Oceania and don’t have good Internet.
2: Expect the game to perform worse as more contents are updated.
3: If you have technical problems, seeking help from Anet is rather delusional, solve it yourself or just quit.
I recently got to 200g after about 2 months of farming. I immediately bought the 2 recipes i needed and all I needed to complete them. I then sank 150g into the mystic toilet to get The Legend.
200 rare staves and about 30-40 exotics later: nothing.
Now I’m broke. The stupid RNG on this game just cost me hours and hours of my life for literally nothing. (Well, I have 2 practically useless gifts now) So Anet, man up, make ALL the current precursors craftable by Christmas, and I hope you send everyone an apology for (pardon my language) kittening around for so long. Why should some idiot with dumb luck get to charge 800g for a precursor? I’d say that’s far more game-breaking than making them craftable.
I spent 1200 gold to craft Twilight. To think that u can get it with 200 is rather delusional.
WvW, their massive zerg stationed near a big kitten cliff for treb, I got pulled into the middle of them. I activated Fear Me, 20 bags at least.
10 years ago I was a big fan of Dragon and my favorite weapon was the axe
It’s true that stealth can’t be countered, and thief is ironically one of the safest class in the game. It’s the only class that even low skill players can single handedly dive into a mob, kill some squishes without them being able to fight back, and retreat easily and safely.
If a thief wants to disappear, there is no hope of finding him no matter how big your blob is. In 1 v 1, thief is technically invincible if played correctly, low health = stealth = rolf.
I’m red gold with Twilight. People like it because the GS is extremely popular across several classes and it looks kittening great.
Well, the lag issue has been going on for more than a week and I’m sick of the lack of care when I posted about this many times so I just want to say it still going on at least for me and will probably never end.
But today I face the new issue, after enduring this 1k ping nightmare of a game to the last level of Fractal 28 I got DC, and worse I can’t reconnect, disable firewall, virus protection already, my network still fine.
Don’t throw craps at me like usual A net. It’s not my fault and I know it, it’s yours so pls fix your god kitten server. You guys are the worst service provider I ever encountered in any MMORPG and you will likely kill off this game just by your incompetence.
Ok, my game has been insanely lag for the last 5 days. I know this because of all the new patch and update and I’ve posted several times about this but as always no reply or improvement. I’ve invested quite a bit into this game and I don’t want to give it up because of something as stupid as someone’s extreme level of incompetence and ignorance.
So is there anyway to reduce the lag at all ? I’ve tried to set graphic to lowest, making GW2 priority on network, install new drivers but as usual nothing work. And it’s horrible, in PvP I need 2 sec for my skills to respond. In dungeon, I keep getting reset into the bosses massive AoE. In WvW, everyone has constant teleport. I’ve given up hope on A net so pls don’t bother with this , just anyone but them. This kittening game has been a nightmarish experience for me in the last 5 days.
(edited by Dragonax.6487)
Ok three days of constant and extreme lag now, 600-1000 ping PERMANENTLY (100-300 just 4 days ago ), posted about this but no reply or change. I’m being pushed to my limit, can’t tell whether this is playing or kittening suffering anymore. Now all I need is some courage to delete my character and I’m done with A net and NC soft forever
Hi, in the past 2 days my game has been crashing quite a bit. Additionally, I also suffer from major lag issue that doesnt seem to cool off whether in peak or off peak time, (many times to the point of making it utterly unplayable whether it’s dungeon or WvW ). There is no change in my system and my internet in the last 2 days, my other online games +youtube still connect and run normally
Discourage Zerg play, encourage tactical play.
-Massively increase victory reward and experience (successfully capture or defend keeps, towers ) for the servers that are heavily outnumbered on the map, massively decrease reward and experience of the servers that have massive number advantage on map.
There are many reasons but for me, there are some of the outstanding ones I’d like to address:
-Not many thing to do at 80: Dungeon ? They only worth running once and the rest is for gear, I doubt many people find them entertaining. WvW ? This game promote heavy Zerg WvW play which scare away people who don’t have a monster computer and who are not in a huge pop servers. World bosses ? Again it’s mostly about boring Zerg ( Tequati is a positive change). Legendary ? Not many people enjoy heavy grinding and frustrating gambling for a piece of cosmetic skin. Anything else to do at 80 ?
-Lack of new quality big content: Living world is fun but too casual and generally short and boring (I stopped giving kitten about them after 2 months of playing ). SouthSun is a failure due to its simplicity and difficulty along with the incredible lack of reward, Fractal is a success but it’s probably the only thing worth noticing over a year.
-Failed PvP: This game completely separate PvP from regular gameplay, which is a bad idea in my opinion. It doesnt matter how kitten you are in Tyria, you ain’t kitten in Heart of the Mist if you don’t spend a lot of time on it and so is the other way . This system could be great if the game had fantastic and balanced combat system but unfortunately it’s just a joke now.
I don’t mind the low population. WhiteSide is at number advantage most of the time and we can still manage to win fights against much bigger mob, as long as we can muster >20 people and have a good commander.
What annoy me is that we do not have >20 people all the time. So whenever there is none or few of us on map, enemy start gathering a zerg and taking all of our empty stuffs effortlessly and still get the same reward, which is bullkitten. It’s pretty much PvE for them the majority of time.
So you may see us losing all the time, but it’s not really the case. We beat people all the time, but our elite people need to sleep and eat and work. And when we are absent our enemy’s PVEers start their cheap boring farming routine.
In short:
-Warrior need nerf because they can’t be killed in 5 sec
-Ele needs buff because you main Ele
-Other classes are fine because you can beat them no prob, with the exception of Necro condition being a bit troublesome sometimes
Am I missing something ?
If it’s a mindless zerg you usually command against enemy with brain, then it doesnt really matter, you will die regardless of class.
If it’s a serious group, then u would need to be someone who can lead the charge and survive, while also being highly mobile. GS/SS full tank warrior is the best for this, the hammer provides CC and some AoE but it’s not really what you need being commander. Guardian is the close second for their survivability.
27 silver for 30 minutes of -40% condition duration and 70 vitality
Yeah, they are indeed very powerful, but I would never consider buying them even if condition users keep kicking my kitten for a year
A solid expansion with serious content is definitely what the game needs right now. Living world content can keep casual players, but it making the game lose its hard core players. I stop giving crap about living world after 2 months of playing the game, the reward is meh and the content is rather short and uninteresting.
Let assume that if precursor’s prices drop to 100-200 gold right now. Then at least half of the population would run around with legendary. Would you give a kitten about legendary if that happened ? As much as I agree that it should not be so luck based, it’s not legendary if anybody can have it (unless they pay 500-700 bucks for it which is stupid but beneficial for the game ). So even if there will be a way to craft precursor, it should be so hard that some people would still wanna test their luck on the toilet.
Every class have high mobile build that are very hard to chase, not only warrior. May be warrior high mobile build are little harder to chase. But that’s fair because they don’t have all the stealth, teleport, clone of other classes. The only reason some people complain is because they encountered high mobile warriors a lot more often than high mobile other classes because 1: warrior is the most popular class, 2: the build is easier to pull off on them.
It’s called min/maxing . If a thief traits for ALL OUT OFFENSE then he will get incredible offensive abilities. Outside of stealth however, his defensive capabilities will be abysmal.
If a warrior traits for ALL OUT OFFENSE then he will get incredible offensive abilities including a massive amount of stuns. However, he doesn’t need anything defensive. He only needs Signet of Healing.
So what have we learned here? Roll a warrior and you too can do the the maxing without the minimizing!
Signet of healing heals 400 hp/ sec, it’s affected by healing power but the amount is so pathetic that’s not even worth thinking about.
Against a heavy offensive warrior, any offensive build of any class can easily burst them for 5-10k/ sec, which make the regen laughable, straight heal is much better for glass warrior
In short, I can’t see where u get that conclusion from.
They should just severely reduce the victory rewards and points of the servers that have far superior number and greatly increase the victory rewards of the servers that are heavily outnumbered. By this way, people will move to other maps when they have superior number and move to other servers if their servers always have superior number
You are lucky, your inventory is free from all those craps because 99% of the rings you get will be utterly useless unless you have like 4-5 different builds.
If you craft it, u need to pay for the precursor, the mats + few other things. The cost for all of those would be 1000-1600 depends on which legendary, so you are actually pretty close in gold.
The few other things you need are world completion, 500 badge of honor, a dungeon gift + more than 1 mil karma (or 8000 fractal relics) for 77 mystic clovers + 250 obsidian shards.
So unless you think you can get 1000-1500 golds faster than u can get the stuffs above (which is only possible if u buy gold using real cash or if you are a fantastic TP investor ). I suggest crafting
To be honest, from 1 to 79 it felt like a single player game to me (probably because of the story mode + the very low population of my server at the time ). Then when I get to 80, started running dungeons, farming for gears, it returns to be a normal MMORPG (not that I have problem with it ). One thing that kind of displease me however, the amount of " serious" contents for lv 80 in this game is significantly less than regular MMORPG. Beside dungeons and fractal, there is not much: World bosses are generally too easy with big enough number ( with the exception of Tequalli ), South Sun Cove is too boring and unrewarding that’s hard to find a single soul there, living events are fantastic but too casual to be consider serious.
I wish this game forgets all the teenagers and has more adult contents.
Technically:
-Precursor should be a lot cheaper
-Champ train should be less rewarding ( Easy, Increase the re-spawn duration in areas that packed with champs or make vastly different respawning durations for each champ ).
-Higher difficulty content should be a lot more rewarding ( Frac lv 48 and lv8 rewards are pretty much the same for me in term of profit ( with the exception of few special things like ascended rings <which are invading my inventories, have to make a character just to store them> , ascended weapons and fractal weapon skins )
The bad looks were intentional, and there are few reasons I can think of:
-Boosting up sale for transmutation crystal
-If ascended armors and weapons looked cool as hell, many people would keep the look, and everybody would look similar, which is stupid. And eventually, people would demand for more variety of looks and A net may have to design 5-6 more ascended sets for each armor type.
-Very few people would bother running dungeon anymore (except Cof 1 for quick daily cash ). They have armors with better stats and cool looks to go for now.
