The [WWJD] Guild on Fort Aspenwood is using this exploit to get their guildmates into EBG.
Thanks for the responses everyone. I feel that I need to stick it out and always look for ways to improve. I also need to accept that sometimes, it’s just better to leave a point and run.
A little about me. I play Thief and Guardian. I would like to choose one as my main, but I can never decide which one I like more.
Any way, when I play Guardian, it’s pretty constant. Going into matches, I can typically guess how well I will perform based on the enemies comp and based on which players I see on the other team.
Thief however, is the exact opposite for me. Some days on thief, I feel super confident and I play awesome. I’m getting decaps, I’m causing the +1 on figts, I’m dropping squishies, etc. People PM me and thank me for a job well done. Then there are certain days where I feel like I can’t do anything. I try to get a decap and a cele engi shows up and wrecks me, I try to +1 fights and I get blown up before I even realize I was being focused. I try to shadowstep out of danger and I accidentally try to step somewhere that I cannot access. Map chat rage starts and I can pretty much guarantee that I’m not going to play well for the rest of the day.
I was just wondering if this is a common situation for thief players and I was wondering what steps they take to combat this.
I have several issues with this video.
1. As a bunker guardian, you should be in the team fight.
2. If you’re trying to hold a point, stay on it. Don’t run in circles around it, while they cap it. Then watch them hold it. If you can’t win it back, you need to rotate.
3. The enemy team was also very unskilled.
4. You wasted renewed focus. A lot.
I appreciate that you posted this here for us to watch, but ultimately I do not feel that this will help benefit anyone.
Yup, SME content, so i can’t watch it.
I was trying to stomp a ranger today and he teleported about 4 different times. During this his pet followed and rez’d him. Teleports are happening.
I’m going to try the video idea, so I can watch and see what mistakes I make. I think a lot of my issue is focusing too much on 1v1s to take the far point.
It sounds like you and I are having the same issue. I can hop on my other characters and feel highly effective. I can also win 1v1s with ease on those characters. However, as soon as I hop on my thief, 1v1 situations become a nightmare. If I make any mistakes I get wrecked. I have also loved the thief/rogue/assassin type classes and I desperately want my thief to be my main. However, I always find myself switching to one of my other characters after the reoccurring disappointment of losing to someone who is wasting dodges and using skills simply because they are off of cooldown.
In every MMO I’ve played, I’ve always been drawn to the thief, rogue, assassin, type classes. However, I’ve having a rough time feeling effective in PvP on thief. Rotations and finishing off people is not an issue for me. My issue is 1v1 situations. Now when I go to 1v1 servers and fight people, I feel confident and successful. I think that this is because I have the time to analyze the opponent and see how they play. However, as soon as I’m in a pvp match, I typically get steam rolled when I’m fighting 1v1 for a point. What frustrates me the most is that I can hop onto my guard, ranger, warrior, or necro and win most of these 1v1s that I can’t do on thief. I really want to be more successful on thief, but I’m not sure where to go from here. Has anyone else had a similar experience and how did they overcome it?
For reference I typically run S/D
Hi Gaile,
As a paying customer who routinely spent a minimum of $50 a month in gems, I feel like I just got a giant slap in the face. Not only did anet clearly make this change to make more money, but then you come here with blatant bullkitten lies. Saying this was done to help the “new players” is a horrible lie. It always shows that you have no hang ups about lying to paying costumes. So until the gemstore is fixed, I will no longer be spending any money on the gemstore.
Best regards,

Here’s been my results. I ran medi dps for about 2 months and was stuck in the 96% bracket. I began running the standard 0/1/6/6/1 bunker. (Staff & Mace/Focus) And within a week of switching I quickly climbed up to rank 87 NA. I pretty much camp mid and I rarely lose it. I can hold off 1v2 fights on point for several minutes until a DPS focused teammate joins me and wipes them.
Resolved!
I uninstalled Overwolf and all of the sudden everything is running perfectly.
weird.
Well this issue has now become more interesting to me. I decide to test Gw2 on my mac, side by side with my windows rig. What I found bizarre is that, on my Mac Gw2 is running smooth with no lag. However, on my windows machine, Gw2 is still experience skill and chat lag. As stated before, my firewall is off and all drivers are current.

Thanks for the quick replies. It appears to be something server side. Now to patiently wait for it to be resolved!
Just to chime in, I’m having the same issue with both of my NCSoft games ( GW2 / Wildstar) but no issue with my non-NCsoft games.
I’m experiencing really bad Skill / Chat lag currently. I tried disabling my firewall and ran some ISP test and everything seems normal, until I try to play. Once in game my skills will take 5-10 seconds to activate and eventually won’t activate at all. During this time, I can still roam around the map and read new chat messages. However, if i try to type something in chat, it will not send. Any tips?

I think the sigil of doom is going to be what I need. Thanks guys for the quick responses and solid advice.
no kitten when you trait like a bunker:D
at least take the II in zeal> +15% dps.
You misread my post. The previous poster asked which ele spec I have trouble with. I run 2-1-6-1-4. I was stating that ele 0-0-2-6-6 is hard countering me.
Edit for spelling:

0/0/2/6/6 I just cannot dish out the damage to beat that spec.
For many months now, I have been focusing on learning meditation guardian and getting better at it. In most 1v1 situations, I am confident in my abilities and typically only lose when I am outplayed rather than out classed. However, there is one class that I just cannot beat. This is D/D elementalist. When I face them, the fights always result in a 10 minute plus stalemate, until I make a silly mistake and eventually go down. Can anyone give me advice towards fighting them?
Mag isn’t tanking.. It’s just imploding because nobody plays on the server anymore.
You don’t say?
FA must also be trying to tank.
I’m on a phone right now, so I can’t use the gw2 skill builder, but 2-1-6-1-4 is amazing for 1v1 as well as team DPS. Basically it’s a meditation build with scepter/focus and greatsword. If you look around you will find the full build.
EDIT: here is the build on Metabattle http://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Guardian_-_Meditation_DPS_Variant
Can anyone recommend some Guardian pvp streamers on Twitch? I tried using the forums search function and it doesn’t seem to work the way that I hoped it would.
Thanks!
Mace can also be used offensively in a PvP setting. In a meditation build, good timing on focus 5 plus mace 3 will result in large amounts of burst damage.
Maybe I’m missing it, but is your build posted any where?
I know for some people, the Liadri fight was easy. However, I was not one of those people. For me, the fight was a constant source of frustration at first.
After a few days of failed attempts on Liadri, I have found a nice build that made it simple. Most importantly though is the gear. All of the armor piece can be RARE items from the trading post. All of which can be bought very very cheaply.
Once you are set up, all you need to do is kite Liadri around the center, while applying burns to her.
The skill editor would only allow me the choose exotic or ascended, but once again, you only need to buy RARE armor pieces.
I would love to see an expansion, but at the same time I do have some concerns. The idea behind the mega servers was to make the maps feel populated again. If a new region was to be introduced right now, the current maps would once again feel empty.
