Honest question. Everyone in my personal circle is only playing GW2, because there is no other PvP focused mmorpg (minus WoW.) Maybe I’m being dramatic, but this is terrible. Every patch since 2014 has made this game worse. I’ve gone from recommending GW2 to friends to warning people not to even try F2P.

What makes it even more frustrating is when I see Colin call GW2 pvp a “Major Success.”

Are you kidding me? How deep in the sand have you buried your head to come up with that conclusion.

-OR- do you just define “major success” by looking at a chart / graph?

Anet can never admit they’re wrong for some reason. They kittened up. This game gets consistently worse with EVERY SINGLE PATCH.

You people keep trying to market this game as esports, but are doing NOTHING to actually fix the problems that you have created. You’re pretty much throwing kitten at a wall and hoping that it sticks.

Then you have Colin who is so delusional, that he keeps calling PvP a “major success.” How does this garbage count as a major success? Charts and graphs don’t make something a success. Your customers hate your current product. I used to recommend this game to people. Now I warn people to not waste their time.

Anet you are a large company. I’ve seen better balanced games come from 5 independent guys in their moms basement chugging on RC cola.

No EU “pro” teams take DH. Only 2 NA teams took a single DH. However, almost every team has at least one Rev and often stacking 2 revs.

That being said, I’ve heard top NA teams are abusing the leaderboard to have Anet fix it… which is like killing people to show the government it should be punished & illegal.

I keep hearing this, so I asked an Abjured member. He said that is not the case. He claimed they are doing it simply because it gave them faster queue times.

I couldn’t acutally care less if EZ and Abjured are place 1-2 or 1-50. Makes no difference for 99,9% of the players. It just shows one of many design flaws that made it through testing for jet another highly advertised and hyped feature.

I’m currently wondering if it is even possible to reach Legendary. When all people are in amber, emerald and probably saphire.. will they even find matches and won’t they always loose more than 1 pip?

It has effected me. Which is why I am passionate about it. I’m currently pushed down towards the lower end of gold.

The level of unsportmanship from these teams is unreal right now and it’s even worse that Anet’s #1 and #2 PvP developers, Josh and Hugh, are both part of the mist initiative themselves so it’s impossible to discuss anything with them unless you’re in the ESL scene. For the rest of us, we’ll just have to continue getting farmed 24/7 by these teams until everyone gets sick of it and quits gw2.

Apparently it’s not enough to dominate all tournaments. You have to also make sure that no one can have any in game fun either.

No cap as far as I cap tell. And you can spread it over 5 guilds. It should just be 1 challenger team per account. If that team doesn’t work out, delete it and make a new.

It’s under the team tab on your guild menu.

Not to mention they are also using the top ten spots to advertise the name of their twitch channels. I really doubt anything will be done though. The PvP Dev team and The Abjured are so far in bed together. It’s really unprofessional the way they do business together. Personal skypes, leaked balanced doc, minstrels amulet..

Can we limit players to one guild challenger team… This is ridiculous. 8 of the top 25 spots are being taken by PZ and abjured making multiple guild teams and farming them up. This is really a slap in the face to the other 23 potential teams that could have a spot in gold reward territory.

GW2 has been snowballing down hill since HoT was announced. I really think it’s because they are spread too thin, or they are doing what some manager is forcing. They can’t all be this out of touch with the reality of the game.

You might has misread what I said. I know DH isn’t OP. It’s a one trick pony. As soon as f3 and MF are on CD, it’s literately one of the easiest targets to train down. Even if they rez, they’re going to insta die again without those two cooldowns.

How does this happen? There are literately hundreds / thousands of post on this forum pointing basic/major issues with the current PvP infrastructure, but they go ignored. Meanwhile, every major patch the devs try to reinvent the wheel and end up falling on their faces.

-Cele is still over represented.

-2 Classes out of the meta, almost 3. (DH is so OP that almost no one takes it for competitive play.)

-RIP solo queue

-Leagues are either 5 man farm or intentionally lose 20 games to drop MMR as a solo player.

-condis gone wild! (why does condi “burst” exist?)

-4 of the top 10 teams on the guild leaderboard are the same guild making multiple teams…. (super fun for other guilds trying to earn a place!)

-Invisible MMR.

-Lose pips for WINNING.. if a party member D/Cs

-Dishonor doesn’t do anything to stop AFKers, in fact it’s only punishing genuine players who happen to D/C or miss queue while taking a pee.

I mean, are the Devs spread too thin? Are one of the higher ups forcing these silly changes? I just do not understand how this game manages to make things worse during every major update.

Gw2 is a social experiment, designed to see how long people will continuously believes their lies. Game will never be balanced, devs will never really care. I’ve enjoyed the game a lot more since I quit expecting anything from them.

So after watching ESLs and the previously pro leagues, can the forum finally admit that DH isn’t as strong as the vocal forum crowd suggested? Teams are not stacking them and auramancers counter them. I’m not suggesting they are weak, but they’re not the end all of builds. They’re simply baddie killers and solo queue heroes.

Before this gets blown out of proportion, this footage was intended to be a joke. All 4 were using zerk/scholar. A stiff breeze would down us. As for the 22k trueshot, the thief stripped armor to lose toughness and the others pumped might with staff. The daily server guys might as well been bots. As for the team we beat, lol idk they’re just not that good?

This is PvP forum. Thief is fine. Sizer needs to L2P. Toker plays thief, so thief is fine. The entire class should be balanced around one guy making it work with four other players.

not true. If you read Evan Lash’s post, you’ll see that he’s constantly finding bugs with match making. You can be the best player in the world and get placed with 4 scrubs vs a solid team. Is it your fault that you can’t carry the dead weight? No.

I made a thread about this a while ago. This phenomenon is actually fairly common. The only fix is to log off for a few hours and it usually goes back to normal. For some reason the system will place you with terrible players vs ESL competitors over and over. I always thought it was bogus until it happened to me one day.

Yesterday I ran ONLY the healing trap. I was called trap spamming cheese multiple times after killing people. People just like to bandwagon hate on something.

This was the nail in the WvW coffin for me. Trash game mode without a clear direction or spirit.

Anet respects their players? Last time a checked Grouch and Hugh fanboy the abjured in an awkward attempt to fit in, while the others simply don’t talk to anyone.

Had that on Skyhammer. Some people feel the need to go afk on that map just because they don’t like the map. That should be reportable.

Even if it was reportable, Anet never takes action any way.

HoH was my favorite PvP out of any game. I wish it would come back, but it won’t.
