Canach hasn’t been around since last year. I figured he was long done with and we won’t see anymore. He was a boring character anyway he wouldn’t bring much to the group.
speaking of Canach did he escape from jail again yet? Only way I can see him reappear in LS season 2 is if he escaped from jail again.
As for the jail break part I’m starting to think Canach has a thing for getting arrested and breaking out of jail. :p
Or a new plot twist being that Caithe secret is that she is the first Sylvari to give birth a sylvari other than the pale tree and she has a person she loved but left both this other person and her child since her emotions over Faolain still lingers and if this secret got out then both the other person she loved and her child life will be theatened :p
Whose the father? Unless the father is also a mother… Caithe and Faolain’s love child. Well that would be interesting twist…
It just a wild ideal and guess I have running in my head. Considering Sylvari are bisexual I won’t be surprised if the other person Caithe loved is male. However, make it a more twist make it a Male Human and the child as a successfully born half breed human/sylvari based on the original design of the sylvari which was this…

What do you expect?
Not much can be done with MMO contents since almost all releases can be done within 1 week if you don’t bother to repeat those contents.
EVen FF14ARR suffers from this issue despite how meaty their content up every 2.5 months appears it still only last 1 week and anything beyond 1 week is content you repeat over and over again for dailies or weeklies.
1 new area per 2 weeks is fine with me since it not like this new story Arc will involve kill all the Elder Dragons :p
Almost forgot to mention a interesting part of the Investigation Team is that each member has some kind of affiliation with a member of Destiny Edge.
Kasmeer and Marjory – Logan being that they are the ones he goes to when there is a mystery that needs to be solved in Divinity’s Reach outside of his jurisdiction.
Rox – Rytlock being she originally wanted to be a member of his warband but became part of the Investigation Team instead.
Braham – Eir’s son
Taimi – Zojja’s apprentice
We could always kill one of our Destiny’s Edge 2.0, unfortunately, it would probably be one of the humans.
My character is Sylvari, so that completes the group perfectly.
On serious note: Killing off been done too many times back in the first 3 Arcs of the Main Storyline already. I prefer not having to deal with losing ally characters again like what happened in The Order Arc and Zhaitan Arc.
(I’m still sad about losing Sieran and the other Order Mentors.)
I prefer introducing a new character without killing off a current member since the Investigation group is still young in the GW2 lore.
(edited by EdwinLi.1284)
We’ll have Traherne. There’s a reason that they stated LS p2 starts after the personal story.
As a joke it a bit funny
but as a serious note I doubt since being the leader of the Pact means Trahearne is stuck doing large amount of paper work a high military officer must deal with in their career.
Which is why I’m glad our character is just a commander since the lower the rank in any organization the less paper work you’ll have to deal with.
If u did the street rat personal storyline does she say anything different to u or recognize u at all?
She just welcomes you to the town and explains she been using her connections to help the town with surviving.
On topic:
Nice to see that RIot Alice found some way to make a better life without getting back into those bandit gangs. Though not completely clean it still a better life than before.
Sadly my Main character is a Human Commoner so Andrew and Petra won’t be getting any love since they run the Inn of Divinity Reach.
However, i think the other Personal Story characters should start getting a return as well like the Sylvari twins or other characters that yet to make a return in a part of the game story beyong the Personal Arc of the Main Storyline
(edited by EdwinLi.1284)
So when do you think they will introduce the Sylvari of the Investigation group? Seems like the Maguuma Arc is a good time to introduce the Sylvari member the team been missing.
So far we have….
The Leader: Our character
Human: Kasmeer and Marjory
Charr: Rox
Norm: Braham
Asura: Taimi
Though it would be interesting if the Sylvari member was from a different Pale Tree since there are other Pale Trees in GW2 world.
So let discuss the our current path for the Maguuma Jungle Arc of the story.
As of now from what people been gathering the next stop with be the north into a area on the other side of the mines.
From there we will either head North again to go deeper into the Maguuma Waste or we will head West from there into the Maguuma Falls.
So which stop do you think will be our next?
I’m 50/50 on this so not much to say.
What I find interesting is that there seems to be an expectation that ANet should pump out content much faster, but it sounds as if this expectations comes from an observation somewhere else.
Where would that be? WoW, which goes months between raid patches which are cut down in size to be a single small raid zone with a handful of bosses, and then a year until the next xpack? A year of nothing, ofc.
Wildstar? Which lacks content right out of the door?
Or are we looking outside of MMOs? Bioware pushing out content faster with DA2 certainly wasn’t well-received either, so there’s a negative precedent there. D3 went 2 years before it got more content, and it was only ~25% more, and the world isn’t large to begin with. PoE is still in it’s death throes so I doubt much will happen there. No company releases lots of content fast.
For 2 weeks, Dry Top is quite good. Plus let’s be serious, adding new zones should be something done rarely, as it makes an already giant world even larger, each time they need to check whether Megaserver still fills each zone at least once over.
I kind of blame FF14ARR for that. I mean if you look at the patch content trailer that is released every 2.5 months compared to the GW2 content trailer you’ll notice FF14ARR looks more content meaty….
FF14ARR Patch 2.3 Defender of Eorzea trailer
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qYBu4dpZJBo
GW2 Gate of Maguuma Traler
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-WUW_hPwcI
but then you get down to the bone of these content you find both game’s new content will only last a week anyways for players who rush through content.
However, GW2 is atleast releasing new areas as part of their content. FF14ARR isn’t going to release a new area until Shiva either in 2.4 or 2.5 which will most likely only be 1 new area.
(edited by EdwinLi.1284)
I actually would like new skills but what I prefer more is new Weapon skills for each class.
Maybe even introduce new weapons like a Gauntlet weapon which can be used by Warriors, Guardians, Engineers, and Elementalists.
With Warrior skills focus more on fist fighting brawler style skills
Guardians being more monk protector like skills.
Engineers being energy gauntlet skills allow them to generate energy into their gauntlets and perform some technology themed attacks like placing energy fields to reflect range attacks or a more offensive AoE damage electric field that damage all enemies in the electric field and shooting electric shocks at enemies. Of course this weapon would have to go uner the Inventions section for its traits due to it’s technology nature.
While Elementalists use gauntlets as a new type of caster weapon allowing them to cast powerful range and AoE elemental attacks.

Don’t you know? GW2 is both!
As you stated yourself, there is still a lot of mystery around Razah’s identity. So i don’t think he will make a return, he perhaps get mentioned in some story telling perhaps. But a real return is far off i think.
Doesn’t take away the fact that i want too see Razah back, i got questions aswell!!
Ya but don’t forget Abaddon had Razah sealed away for a very special unknown reason.
Some hypothesis is that Razah may be a piece of Abaddon he separated from himself when he turned into the evil god he was.
another is that Razah may be something more ancient and that Abaddon kept him because he may have some kind of special knowledge we never knew about. (back then I didn’t know what kind of Knowledge Razah may have but ever since Eye of the North I’m starting to think Razah may have knowledge about the Elder Dragon’s true origins and the other times the Elder Dragons appeared beyond the two known recorded awakenings but his amnesia was what kept this knowledge from Abaddon)
Either way if the Realm of Torrment is involved then it would be a good time for Razah to return since if there are any mystery about Razah it can certainly be found in the Realm of Torrment some where if Abaddon kept some records about why he would consider Razah special enough to create a entire prison just for him.

Edited for: So my special power I bring to this team that I’m suppose to be an equal in is… being the Commander of the Pact. I guess my special power is to summon Traherne! To me!
What makes us special in the Investigation team is our leadership skills and ability to win against odds that would be considered unnatural. Don’t forget our character is the leader of the group for this reason.
Heck even both Trahearne and NPCs you meet in your Personal story will admit that our character is the reason why the Pact was possible back in the Personal Story due to our ability to handle things that would be considered impossible. Sadly these type of dialogues are easily missed due to being side dialogue that requires players to talk to the NPC out of cutscenes. This reason was why the PS felt like Trahearne was getting the credit instead of the player but in reality NPCS were given our character credit but just not in the main cutscenes and dialogues. This is something I hope Anet will fix in S2 story since once we hit Mordremoth it will be back to commanding the Pact again.
(Side note: letting Trahearne lead the Pact still seems a better choice since he more use to the Paper Work a military leader has to deal than our character is. )
(edited by EdwinLi.1284)
Seriously?
Has people forgotten about Razah?
If the Realm of Torment is link to the story then Razah may return as well.
There are still many mysteries about Razah never answered in GW1 and plenty of oppirtunity for him to return in GW2 and expand on his lore since he is a being of the Mist.
However, it remains unknown if Razah is still on our side, Neutral, or he may have changed into a Antagonist since there are many mystery about Razah’s identity.
and now the MoP is leaving on a journey and not returning to his people…
Well we will eventually get to see where this guy goes off to later.
His dialogue was even a bit ominous sounding since he said his most trusted know better not to bother asking questions.
So any else thing the Master of Peace is the real antagonist here?
1) Morning was lying about what really happened on the ship and showed signs of being afraid of the Master of Peace.
2) All the dead Zeph had dagger wounds
3) Aerin didn’t use any type of dagger but instead used bombs to kill his victoms.
4) As revealed by a NPC in the Medical tent in the Middle of Dry Top. The Master of Peace performed some ritual on Aerin which resulted in Aerin going mad and unleashed strange energies from Aerin that the Master of Peace failed to contain.
[SPOILER AHEAD]
The notes we’ve found in the crash site make me think Aerin became soundless (and used a total makeover kit btw) while INSIDE the ship when it began travelling.
He clearly wasn’t a soundless during the festival. Something changed him along the way.
The injured NPCs in the medic tent in Dry Top actually revealed what happened to Aerin. It seems the Master of Peace tried to put some strange energy into Aerin when they were traveling but the result was Aerin going mad and some kind of strange energy being released from Aerin that the Master of Peace could not control.
Well someone finally post up the Holo-log the majority of the people missed. You can start hearing a 2nd voice the moment she changes….. creepy….
Must be the real enemy all clues been hinting about since S1 but I wonder who can it be? I call dibs it Mordremoth!
there is a lot of strange energy coming from that vine.
Could be part of the source of Energy Scarlet found that drove her into insanity mentioned in the pile of lore Anet stored up in Scarlet’s old home on the last mission.
There have been indications of this in the TA explorable dungeon stories. Both TA up and TA Forward feature Nightmare courtiers that become crazy as they fight for power. Leurant, one of the courtiers, said it best in the TA Forward Dungeon path, “The first lesson in war is to wipe out your enemy. And that includes generals and foot soldiers alike.” Next time you’re in the dungeon, watch the scenes involving Fyonna and Vevina (TA up path) and Leurant and Fyonna (TA forward path). Their actions are similar to Aerin’s actions.
It could be that power to a Sylvari is like hormones to humans. In real life, teens can become aggressive or emotional when they enter puberty. Oftentimes, there is a human mentor that can guide them through that stage of life. When there is no mentor, the teen can easily become a delinquent. Sylvari, on the other hand, don’t have any mentors that can help them when they’re exposed to power. Sadly, the Pale Tree herself recently admitted to not having enough life experience, so she’s no help in this situation. When you have time, have your Sylvari character go to the Pale Tree and ask her about the elder dragons.
I’m aware of Sylvari being new race that yet to understand much of the world but their case was a bit different.
It seems both Scarlet and Aerin had something in their heads talking to them ever since they were exposed to that energy. You’ll get more about Scarlet’s change into what she becomes in S1 Living Story if you stay behind with Tiami long enough, the hologram of Scarlet mention the events that took place before her role in S1. So far hints are pointing to the source of that strange energy being the voice in their heads that is showing them the Truth.
(edited by EdwinLi.1284)
So anyone else starting to think Sylvari has some kind of kill switch that will drive them mad if they were to be exposed to any kind of Dragon Energy?
First Scarlet goes mad because she got exposed to “strange” energy she found in the mines in Dry Top and now Aerin gone mad because the Master of Peace gave him a bit of their “Ancient Magic”.
Not to mention both Scarlet and Aerin said a similar phrase being that they both saw “the Truth” once explosed to these strange magic.
Got to say it nice having a Story mission like this again. It has been far too long.
Only down side is that the real action and answers won’t start until farther into the storyline anyways.
As for Scarlet there were plenty of hints she was only a pawn of the real threat to begin with back in Season 1. It was bound to found plenty of links to Scarlet that will explain what lead her into madness.
Ah please we all know if players were allowed to skip dialogues the majority will not know what is going on in the Story because they’re too itchy to get the stuff done and start killing things again rather than pay attention to the storyline.
Jokes aside:
This is only part 1 of the storyline as we progress towards the next Elder Dragon. Were you expecting some kind of epic introduction basked with explosions and massive armies fighting each other? As of now Part 1 is the reunion part of the story just to cover how each character is recovering form their last major battle.
We probably won’t see less drama and more action until later in the story anyways.
With the story still being in the introduction stage expect…
1) plenty of drama
2) Introductions to the new threat slowly
3) some “shocking” links to old villains actions being only the beginning of a much bigger threat (Scarlet of course but it been quite obvious she was a pawn to the real threat)
4) plenty of reunion moments story plots.
5) then finally later in the story all the drama and plot holes will be replaced with action and answers.

what Xiahou said…
The three combat story missions are the only ones that you can replay for the achievements and bonus rewards.
Note: once you activate replay mode you can’t turn it off. (most likely you can once part 2 of LS S2 is released.)
So anyone figure out how to Toggle of the replay story mode?
As of now Replay Story is just the three combat instanced missions but I can’t find a way to toggle off the replay feature currently.
so how long before a good looking rifle skin is sold on market anyways?
There is a serious lack of good looking rifle skins now and it seems the other weapons are getting new good looking skins lately.
Most of the good looking ones are Black Lion token rewards only.
Aerin will jump to the other platforms and as his HP goes down he will put up the shield again and you’ll have to take it down again.
Each time he will ebgin to jump the platforms more frequently and start having more atatcks.
Best thing to do is to fight him on the platforms. us eht Crystal powers to get on to the platforms and fight him.
So it has been over a year and I’ve recently returned to the game and started dungeoning again.
Is it too late to go beyond Ascalon Catacombs and get any personal experience?
I’ve notice some Exploration paths have new mechanics aswell which requires me to relearn the path.
So far group beyond Ascalon Catacombs I join are all screaming at me for joining their non-experience groups becuase I’m the only one without personal experience in a non-experience group.

Oh I almost forgotten about Lazarus the Dire.
He is the only Musaat I know that has a chance to be still alive in GW2 due to what happened to him in GW1.
After all the events that wounded Lazarus the Dire forced him into hiding so he can recover from the corrupted aspect he absorbed back in GW1 but not without vowing that he will have his revenge even if it takes generations to have it.
Lazarus is also one of the Musaat that took Saul D’Alessio away as well which would make him a perfect character to return in GW1 if they wish to reveal the true fate of Saul D’Alessio and bring back the White Mantles as a major threat.
(edited by EdwinLi.1284)
I’m not hyping anything until I get to play the content.
only thing I know for certain is that there is going to be good music to go with this content.
war in kryta is the tyria end story, EotN is only a lead to GW2…..
sorry forgotten about War in Kryta.
Back on topic:
There is one other thing that still remains a mystery since GW1 and that is what happened to Saul D’Alessio.
From the bonus pack story we learned the truth about what really happened when the White Mantle was formed and that the Mursaat took Saul away because they gave him their most powerful magical knowledge that allowed him to resist the Mursast’s magic and to prevent him from turning the krytans against the Mursaat since he discovered their true nature.
Also OP, GW:EN was not the end of GW1. Winds of Change was which were a series of quests, completely free, for players to play through that kind of summed everything up.
I’m not saying GW:EN was the end of GW1. I’m saying there are a lot of question they left behind back in GW1 at the end of Eye of the North that was originally meant to be answered in GW2.
Besides Eye of the North was the end for Tyria story in GW1 settign the stage for events that leads into what Tyria is in GW2 while also leaving behind Lores that was meant to be in GW2 version of Tyria.
Wind of Change was the conclusion to the story in Cantha to set the stage for the events that made Cantha to what it is in GW2. The focus of Wind of Change was to show how Cantha was affected and changed over the years since Factions and what lead it into the current state it is now in GW2.
I remember there was originally going to be a end story for Elona as well for GW1 but they scrapt it for some reason.
(edited by EdwinLi.1284)
Livia is probably still working for the Shining Blade – it seems that she found some type of immortality by the time of the Sea of Sorrows book.
The rest of those may be introduced in this storyline. I think it’s unlikely that the Bloodstone is particularly related to Mordremoth but it can easily be an interesting sideshow.
Well the Bloodstone is a very powerful source of magic which makes it a very good target for Mordremoth since he is very very hungry right now.
So do you think we will finally obtain more lore about what happened between Gw1 and Gw2 in the Maguuma Jungle now?
Some Lore like…
What happened to Livia after GW1 since we last saw her finding the Sceptor of Orr deep in the Muguuma Jungle at the end of Eye of the North?
What happened to M.O.X. after GW1?
What happened to the Druids of Maguuma?
What has become of the Blood Stone in Maguuma?
What happened to Saul D’Alessio and where did the Mursaats take him to keep him silent.
and so on…
(edited by EdwinLi.1284)
From what is souns like the Journel will be revamped to include replay feature.
So anyone who missed out on certain Live story will get the chance to experience it.
As for our character story it seems the game designers have decided that the Live Story will be our next chapter for our Personal Story which is why the dialogues and events will relect on our character having already completed the Personal Story.
I mean .. look at that picture .. that beetle is uses as a MOUNT !!
But we already had mounts in GW1: desert wurms and siege devourers. I’m betting the idea behind the beetle was similar to the siege devourers.
Or maybe like many “things” on artworks: just part of the artwork without a real purpose or presence in the game, like for examples the spears we’ve seen on many GW2 artworks
Who knows we may get a Javelin Weapon later in GW2 for that GW1 Paragon style gameplay.
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Category:Utopia_world_concept_art
if things like this would be added in GW2 as a true expansion it can only improve the game, only Anet has the power to ether make it a success or screw it up.OMG .. that is bad … really bad :
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/File:%22Beetle_Final%22_concept_art.jpgI mean .. look at that picture .. that beetle is uses as a MOUNT !!
But more serious, there are really some cool pictures there
Ya it would be great if they manage to add Utopia into GW2.
Utopia was only scrapped and some of its concept used for EotN and GW2 because they had some material to base the Asura on.
However, that giant Technology city would be a interesting place to explore and the unreleased Tech Mage class sounds fun if they manage to finish it and add it into GW2 since that was meant to the GW1 counterpart to Engineer.
Do you think Anet will expand into the area of Utopia in GW2?
I can’t help but think the mysterious Machines creatures Invading Tyria are from there.
The ideal of Utopia was a Technology Continent which would relate the the Technology creatures appearing in the shiverpeaks.
I just hope we get a more permanent Personal story now if we are going to fight the next Elder Dragon soon.
Living story are nice but they don’t last forever and currently serve to tell a temporary story about how the world changes and why.
[spoiler] mentioned dragons during cutscene
in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath
Posted by: EdwinLi.1284
Good question. As far as i know, we have information only about Zhaitans name – that one came from dwarven legends.
From lore perspective it seems all Elder dragons obtained their names from Dwarven records uncovered overtime.
Even Primordus was mentioned by ancient records about the story of his return and how it went according to the records from GW1 but it only was delayed because of the Great Destroyer’s defeat by 200 years.
From all this I’m guessing there are Dwarven Records of all Elder dragons in Tyria but only a few have been discovered which could be why Mordremoth been a mystery until recently
ya what Weindrasi said…
The Pact is very restricted now with their forces scattered at mutliple fronts.
As of now only the Heroes can head to these dangerous events to handle them personally since they are the special forces of the Pact with no restrictions placed on them where they can go.
The Epilogue Better Be Grand *Spoilers*
in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath
Posted by: EdwinLi.1284
I hope the epilogue provide some info on which Elder Dragon did Scarlet awaken.
Her corruption may have been red but I’m still leaning more towards Scarlet actually awakening the Nature Elder Dragon Mordremoth considering the location where the dragon’s location is the Maguuma Jungle.
He is just Mad. He still has enough morals to follow the rules of his return but not enough to be crazy and kill everyone he knew.
well that was interesting. Still wished they kind of provided this in the game first.
Anyone else notice his hands are glowing in a similar manor as a certain old GW1 Faction Luxon Elite Dungeon boss?
I think they should stop with the commander stuff. My characters never went to military school, never learned strategy.
I’d rather the story be portraying my fighter as a skilled fighter, perhaps within the top 5% of the allied army, but not an overall commander. What credentials do I have to inspire others to follow me? Next to none.
I’d rather Trahearne’s story (aka everything from the Orders up to but not including Victory Or Death) be one of many combining factors into the defeat of Zhaitan, with him being a skilled intelligence agent and my character being one of his officers/guards.
Yes, I know that games are supposed too make you feel like The One but when you can have multiple characters… there cannot be 5 The Ones, or however many overall player characters that have now finished the story. This is supposed to be an EPIC battle, a war perhaps, with tens of thousands of participants. And yet each of my characters has played a pivotal role in the death of Zhaitan, less than a month after stepping out of The Grove/Divinity’s Reach.
It feels like the Ragnarok Dimension on DC comic’s lore, where members of the JSA enter limbo to fight Ragnarok continuously so that Odin can learn how best to defeat it. Each character I make feels like a JSA hero, defeating the undefeatable over and over again ad neuseum.
There should also be more varying paths to the end goal, wherever the story leads us to next. Yeah you can choose which sub plot to follow in the 60+ missions, but they all lead to the same conclusion, even merging on a frequent basis. Whatever the next task is, whichever dragon we fight, needs to have many different approaches and lines of attack to prevent the story becoming the same drudgery towards the end.
If you’re still wondering about your character commander skills those were developed through your journey with your Order Mentor. Each Mentor has their own issues that you help them finally settle but each one did teach you in different ways.
Tybalt taught you the cunning of a leader through how he uses strategy and deception
Forgal taught you the Military strategy of a leader through how he always been a frontal assault and military defense.
Sieran taught you of responsiblility of a leader through how you always had to help he become a bit more mature and responsible despite that you’re the disciple.
(edited by EdwinLi.1284)
1)Less death of important characters you come to love or about to come to love.
2) Have a plot that will cover what happened to our friends we made before we joined the Order in our Personal Issue Act.
3) Improve Trahearne’s character and maybe add deeper look on why all Order Members respect him and his past history with the Orders. It not his place in the story I have issue with since they stated in the story that Trahearne had to become leader of the Pact due to the conditions of Pact Leader must not be a Order Member and all Orders must have respect for him. However, they repeatedly show Trahearne has a long history with each Order but never bother covering it in the story.
With regards to the several flesh golems – that was because Trahearne is supposedly a sick-nasty necromancer. I feel it was the only time in the game he was able to display his combat capabilities, as every other time he just spins2win.
They may do this in the future but a bit less then the amount Trahearne summons as a new Trait GrandMaster skill.
Don’t forget compared to our character Necros, Trahearne has years of more experience than our character with performing the advance Necro skills. As the storyline progress there will be plenty of openings for Anet to add these kind of features to our characters if they feel like it.
My character is Sylvari, so that completes the group perfectly.
