Trahearne is there to do the paper works so our character does not have to sit behind a desk and fill out papers all day everyday in GW2 storyline.
Why do people not get it?! He is there to do things the PAPER WORK so our character can do other things and no one likes sitting behind a desk all day doing Paper work except for Trehearne. :p
It may appear that way but remember Elite Specs are not designed to be a one way choice nor a Upgraded version of Professions but a choice of how you want to play as that character.
We are only getting the 1st set of Specializations and Anet has said all Professions will have access to all weapons eventually so there are still more to arrive later to give players more choices for the Profession which then will allow players to expand even more on what we already have in builds.
I’m going to say no since this change is mostly attatched to the new Specialization paths.
We only have the first set of Specializations and with more to arrive later we can expect new diversity in builds as they add the other set of Specializations since eventually all Professions will have the ability to use all weapons.
New Speculation on Elite Specs = Dual Class

I question what the Revenant will get for their 1st specialization.
With each Profession going to get to use each weapon eventually I’m waiting for the day when they finally release the Rifle Specialization for Revenant.

The city we’ve seen is also similar to the description of the Mursaat city Saul stumbled upon, which was supposedly in the Magumma Jungle.
…and while the in-game models of the Mursaat only match what we think are Exalted in broad strokes, some of the Artwork you can see in the Saul’s Story book from the Bonus Mission pack closes the appearance gap by quite a bit.
Ya certainly lore are causing me to lean more to the new race to be the Mursaat. While their appearance are different don’t forget there is little we know about the Mursaat race and their biology.
There is also the fact that the Mursaat can only be seen by certain people during GW1 and with their natural mastery over magic the appearance we see them as in GW1 may have been a illusion created by them to hide their true appearance or we may have just been seeing them as more Human like due to their hiding magic. They never really explained how the Mursaat ability to be not seeing by people worked exactly beyond the whole ""It is Magic" reasoning.
(edited by EdwinLi.1284)
Well one of the goals of the Mursaat was to keep the Titans contained. They used humans to that end in a way that was less than morally steady. I don’t expect to see anything about the White Mantle since they were kind of dealt with a long time ago but who knows.
After all, it wasn’t that the Mursaat were allied with the White Mantle. The Mursaat were just using the White Mantle. Maybe people who got more into the lore revealed in the Realm of Torment area of Nightfall could have more insight otherwise.
Well the White Mantle still exists in Tyria as it was revealed in Human Missing Parents Story path but they only exist as a secret cult now.
It is also revealed that the White Mantle are actually the leaders of the Bandits raiding Kryta using the Bandits identity as a alias to hide their existence.
Since the Bandits are moving deeper into Maguuma, with the Nightmare Court and Inquest, word of the return of the Mursaat should reach the White Mantle or members of the White Mantle that are going into Maguuma.
Legendary weapons will no longer be legendary
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Meh never liked most of the Legendary Weapon designs anyways which is why I never bothered to get them.
Ya they’re good for vanity but that what they’re mostly best for…
Vanity.
If the weapon has good stats then the stats is just a bonus for my point of view.
So if one of the revealed new allies we will meet in Maguuma is the Mursaat do you think the White Mantle will be playing a decent part of the expansion storyline?
What about finally learning the fate of Lazarus the Dire?
Will Lazarus the Dire keep is long promise to have his revenge on the successors of the GW1 Heroes (being the GW2 Heroes)?
Were all Mursaat like the ones that the White Mantle worshipped or is the one we are allied with a separate faction that took a different path from the ones that commanded the White Mantle?
Why have they been in hiding for so long?
How many survived the events of GW1?
Why have they not made contact with the White Mantles?
Along with what happened to Saul D’Alessio after he was taken away?
Will the return of the Mursaat and having them as our allies change the White Mantle from their cultist ways or at least split the faction?
So many Questions I really hope will be answered if the Mursaat are returning.
…and this is why we showed all the things.
Awesome job getting all the info dulfy.
But you didn’t show the sword skills.
Also will Revenant get a Two-handed sword skill set?
I leave this post for three days and this is what happens?
Ah well at least this post brought out some confirmation by a game designer on how they will handle Revenant in GW2HoT.
I’m hoping they have two-handed sword for Revenant.
So do you think they will give Revenant their own unique starting zone due to lore reason being that Rytlock is the 1st revenant?
It would a interesting thing to see and I hope they may make the intro for a Revenant character relate to what happened in the Season 2 like having the introduction show a alternate version of a Season 2 event with when Rytlock going after his sword and our character followed him into the rift as well compared to the normal version of S2 event when only Rytlock jumped into the Rift.
or maybe a event close enough to explain how the commander of the pact ended up becoming a Revenant.
The Mist would be a interesting starting zone and can show Revenat unique Prologue story quests on how our character became connected to the Heroes of legends.
Yes.
I’ve been waiting for GW2 1st expansion for a long time. Though not what I expected in the new area still a expansion that most likely add more into GW2 that was missing since GW2 release.
Heck they are finally bring back Guild Halls and it looks even bigger than GW1 version.
Not to mention new Drone Turret Minions for Engineers.
From what was mentioned it seems Specializations may also improve current weapons and utility skills.
It would be a interesting way to make Turret build useful for more content outside of PvE along with ways to improve tech skills and potion skill uses.
I’m still wondering if this system will have multiple paths since they mention it is basically a Job Advance system.
part of the reason is their rarity and another is that there are few unique backpieces skins in the game.
As a Engineer, I find the fight easier with Turrets aiding you.
It is mostly due to the multiple enemies you have to fight while soloing the boss.
The turrets can help chip down the HP of those adds when you need time to move away from AoE or attack the boss while it is down.
Will will get Belinda’s Greatsword and give it to Trahearn because obviously he needs a new greatsword to fight against Mordy, since he doesn’t have Caladbolg anymore.
Unless I was seeing things, he clearly had Caladbolg strapped to his back at the summit, at least before the procession.
Didn’t really pay attention honestly, I thought Caladbolg was left at the artesian waters to purify the land
It is most likely a new Caladbolg since it was always possible to make another Caladbolg but with the main ingredient being the Mother Tree’s Bark it was not replicated until now.
Without Taimi the asura would never have come to the summit and without her the wp network would be in ruins, yet you claim she is lucky she didn’t get locked up?
Had it not been for her the ntwork would of been destroyed there ould be nothing left of it, also it would be noted that no one elese in rata sum or outside of it thought it a wise idea to come up with such a device, if anything she did a heroic and wonderful thing for her people and yet she got treated like a stupid worthless child having a trantrum when a person of authority demanded she give up that device after all her hard work without even a thank you for saving their network from a elder dragon.
Like I said it just Anet using reality over fantasy thing again.
In the real world the government will do this if they deemed it necessary for national security.
Taimi is lucky to not be locked up not for hampering their national security but because she is a bit smarter than most Asura her age. The Asura counsel knows if the Inquest or another enemy obtains Taimi and use her knowledge those people will use her knowledge to jeopodize national security.
The issue around this event was the ideal of National Security vs Personal Rights.
(edited by EdwinLi.1284)
Canach has always been one of the best characters in the game. Anise was ok but now allowing Canach to play off against her has really lifted her personality.
I’m worried that Anet are going to ruin him, or that he turns into another lead male character that just gets pushed around by a bossy female. Where is Evon these days anyway?
well by right Anise did make Canach her personal slave even though she just calls him a body guard.
ah don’t be so down. It is just Anet showing one of the down sides of real life.
If a person create some kind of advance technology that can threaten national security the government has all rights to take that technology away from that person.
Taimi is lucky her government doesn’t lock her up somewhere so they can use her to create more advance technology Asura around her age couldn’t create consider the Asura NPCs have talked about that back in Part 1.
(edited by EdwinLi.1284)
i wouldn’t say “flirty” as much as hinting that there’s a LOT more to Countess Anise than we’ve been told. especially with his comment about her power of illusion and wondering about her… Not allowing him to finish that sentence
Well you do know one of the biggest rules about talking to females is to never ask about her age.
It does happen.
However, Sylvari’s are more open to cross-racial dating since they’re younger than the other races and are born by the Pale Tree rather than a Male and Female romance.
Why can’t our character be the one to die in the story for once. We will probably have a better story with our character being the one to die and then come back to life after a small time gap in the storyline.
Ya it is one of those easter eggs placed into GW2.
If Tengu were to join the fight then most likely their involvement will begin with Trehearne using his political connection with the Tengu race to open their gates to allow access into the Tengu City first.
Yes people hate Trehearne but he is more of a politician than a military leader due to his skills being more suited in politics with his large amount of political connections with the other races that very few manage to earn and one of his connections is the Tengu race.
If something happens to Taimi we riot!
We should smash every single Inquest Base in our path!
Ya what Zax said the 3 Priory members have been there since the Mordremoth Arc began. They currently will serve as the go to and 101 lore people of the Maguuma Areas being that for each new Maguuma area released they will be relocated to the new area while providing lores of that new area. They currently serving as Minor Characters for the storyline now since they’re just thre to map out the Maguuma Area.
If you stick around them enough you can hear them talking to each other about their personal issues, things they discovered during their expedition, and just some funny chats sometimes.
(edited by EdwinLi.1284)
That could be far more interesting than getting another NPC killed.
For a small moment of the game our character can die, enter the mist, and maybe have a chance to enter the Hall of Heroes.
This would provide plenty of opportunity to meet old GW1 characters who have earned their place in the Hall of Heroes and maybe run into Rytlock as he trys to find a way back into the world of the living. Of course we may need Rytlock’s help as well to get back as well.
It took a bit longer than I wanted with my necro but I didn’t even notice the menders until I noticed the statues health going up as I was to busy trying not to get knocked around. My only complaint is that I REALLY hate CC and they seemed to have thrown in an awful lot of extra CC lately. I don’t know why but CC just makes me rage.
Could be they’re trying to find ways to cripple the Zerker builders. :p
Trahearne was not as bad as what people say he is beyond having bad voice acting.
He is at least a decent level character but only reason I found people keep saying Trahearne stole the show was because they may have not bothered to talk to the NPCs during those waiting moments before starting the attack missions. When I talked to the NPCs in Arc 3 of Personal Story (Zhaitan Arc) I’ve seen plenty of dialogue from the NPCs saying that “The Commander” was the figure that keeps the Pact together while Trahearne was the military leader figure that organizes the Pact through Military strategy. Only issue with Arc 3 was that they didn’t show this dialogue in Voice dialogues but only exclusive to Text chat dialogue most players would easily skip or miss due to rushing through the Personal Story.
Our character has served more as the Hero Figure of the Pact boosting Moral on the battlefield. We’re more like the Elite Unit Commander rather than a Military Commander due to getting into missions that would normally be considered suicidal. However, Military Leader Role wise we don’t fit into any catagory except only leading a small unit of people.
Trahearne, however, has more career and experience wise being through political experience and connections (Getting involved with races like the Tengu and other outside races), military strategies (From fighting along side each Order before GW2 timeframe), and basic Desk Job work (which Trahearne often have now with constant paper work invovling Pact organization, supply needs, base operations, and etc at a daily base which is something our character wouldn’t be very good at due to our reputation for being Adventurers rather than Desk Job workers.)
(edited by EdwinLi.1284)
As a Engineer the fight can be a bit difficult but it is very useful to have turrets as a Eng in this fight. Slap turrets near the statue and they’ll do the work for you with taking down the boss HP while you deal with the Menders or place turrets more in the mid of the field to help deal with any adds and the menders when they appear.
Menders can be knocked back, crippled, and any other form of preventing or slowing down their movement which helps a lot with preventing them from getting close to the statue.
There is also the option to join the instance with other players so if you’re having a hard time multitasking so asking for help from another player is still a option
I don’t know if you played GW1, but… well the Ascalonian ghosts might not be too happy when they see what happened to Rurik after he died…
I’ve played GW1 (I am a GW1 vet after all) and Rurik will be a ghost if he was to return in GW2 since Undead Rurik was only a boss for GW1 controlled by the Lich
You should know by now that Rurik is no longer a Undead and in GW1 Prophacies the GW1 player free Ruirk from his Undead body after they defeated Rurik.
(Here a video showing the events)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BVh10Y155_A
So if Rurik returns in GW2 he will most likely be a Ghost.
(edited by EdwinLi.1284)
So I got a thought from what happened at the end of part 1.
With Sohothin suddenly entering the mist….
What if Rytlock returns later from the mist with Rurik with Rurik role being that he would manage to convert some of the Ascalonian ghost to our side or at least rally the Ascalonian Ghost that isn’t under much influence from King Adelbern’s curse to aid us in freeing Ascalon from the Foefire curse.
Of course this would lead to a split in Ascalonian Ghost faction being the ones that side with Rurik can be freed from the Foefire curse easily while the ones still loyal to Adelbern will remain stubborn. However, this would also mean, lore wise, the Charr will have less Ascalonian ghost to deal with without needing to removal all the Ascalonian ghosts wandering Ascalon.
(edited by EdwinLi.1284)
I take it no noticed that right after Smodur said it failed, he also said it wasn’t over.
For all we know, the sword’s wielder chasing the sword into the mist may very well be part of the cleansing. If one doesn’t have the courage to jump into the mists alone in order to break the curse, what right do they have to be the King?
You know that moment got me think what if Rytlock returns later with not only Sohothin but also Rurik himself from the mist so Rurik can help remove the curse of Ascalon.
Of course that may lead to a battle between Rurik and his father King Adelbern while we fight the Ghosts still loyal to King Adelbern but with a twist that we will have Ascalonian Ghost allies in this fight since some may have sided with Rurik to end the curse so they can finally enter the mist.
(edited by EdwinLi.1284)
So how is everyone with Mass Effect 3… I mean Chapter 3 of the LW S2 Story?
I’m still waiting for bugs to be fixed so I can finish helping each “Council member” deal with their issues with their race so they can help us with the War against the Reapers…. I mean Mordremoth. :p
The first part of the War will begin soon. Tyria’s leaders will gather their forces to prepare for this war but the question is are you ready for War?
So just for fun what do you think Engineer will be like if the Engineer Profession was given a Machine Gun Kit as a Elite Kit Skill?
After all we have…
Grenade Kit
Bomb Kit
Med kit
Flamethrower kit
Elixir Kit
Tool Kit
Well considering the story of S2 there is a high chance he may become involved again. After all he is a Sylvari from a different Pale tree and Arc 4 of the Personal Story (Living World Season 2) is having use head toward Magus Fall. Magus Fall is also mentioned to be where the Pale Tree he is from is located.
The Curse is the Foefire which has these effects
- turned the Ascalonians into ghost that will keep returning
- Infused the Ascalonians with King Adelbern’s obsession with keeping Ascalon.
The Curse can only be removed by both Magdaer and Sohothin. The reason it happens now is because Magdaer was damaged back in Ascalon Catacombs Story so it was being repaired. Now that it is fixed the curse can be lifted.
Taimi reminds me of that dude from Pacific Rim who was the “kaiju groupie”. Neither are evil, but both prone to geeking out about the thing that wants to destroy the world and also making questionably safe choices.
Well only question is will Taimi crazy actions help save the world like Newton Geiszler crazy actions did in Pacific Rim
We will most likely see 1 new Dungeon for the Maguuma Jungle area and if lucky 2 new dungeons once the Maguuma Jungle becomes big enough.
So let discuss something you would like to see added into GW2 through the Living World Season 2 releases.
So what would you like to see added into GW2 through the timeframe of Living World Season 2 (other than the already developed Arc 4 of Personal Story (aka Mordremoth Arc) and already planned new areas)?
For me I would like to see…
-New weapon options for each Profession.
After all we are fighting a new Elder Dragon and as time pass each Elder Dragon are becoming more powerful. I know thw whole issue of balancing but it is about time our Profession becomes more Professional in their skills with other type of weapons.
Though only thing I can think of is giving
Engineer – Longbow or Shortbow for tech arrows
Ranger – Rifles for Hunter style gun skills.
- Adjustments to old issues (of course a bit obvious)
One issue I still wish that would be fixed is how Engineer Turrets don’t scale with Engineer’s Stats which has be mostly the reason why people have shunned Turret build Engineers.
(edited by EdwinLi.1284)
Hopefully the Ring of Fire and Crystal Desert after they flesh out Maguuma and Shiverpeaks a bit more.
Well there are rumors running around that Anet is preparing to release a GW2 expansion in 2015.
Neither OP. I think it’s the Pale Tree for many reasons already stated:
Well if you look at all current major attacks in Episode 2 they have all been at locations with very powerful magic.
The Pale Tree is a being of very powerful magic in general so keeping the Pale Tree as a possible target for Episode 3 is certainly up on the list.
Also, as you said, the Pale Tree has a more marks on her to be targeted by Mordremoth since the only thing protecting the Sylvari from Mordremoth’s corruption is the Pale Tree and if she is removed then all Sylvari under her protection will fall to Mordremoth’s influence thus providing him with a increase amount of minions that is already in every single major city and region.
I maybe concerned a bit about Taimi’s choice of idolizing but she been acting like a normal kid that just don’t want to listen to adults but only smart because she is a Asura.
Simple….
Marjory’s mother hates Noble people with a passion as it was mentioned back in Season 1 and with Kasmeer being a former Noble person Marjory’s mother already heats her. If she were to appear along side the news of Marjory’s sister death her mother will most like lose it and blame Kasmeer and who bunch of drama will follow with Marjory’s mother hatred towards Nobles.
If there is a 7th dragon then the center orb is most likely the Original Elder Dragon that existed before the 6 Elder Dragons were created.
Most likely the Original Elder Dragon died long ago before GW history and the result of the death created the 6 Elder Dragons and the spread of magic energy which started the age where Magic existed in the World of GW.
However, this is just my hypothesis so not much to go on until the actual lore is revealed over time.
The Orb entering the Center representing Mordremoth may be a way to tell us that each Elder Dragon are fighting over the empty spot the Original Elder Dragon left when it death created the 6 Elder Dragons in hopes of become the new Original Elder Dragon.
(edited by EdwinLi.1284)
Well this is part of the Personal Story being that we are currently in Arc 4 of the Personal Story.
Living Story S2 is a continuation of the Personal Story being that this is the Elder Dragon Mordremoth Arc.
made a post about this a few weeks ago and a lot of people agree if the Investigation team gets a Sylvari it would either be Canach or a new Sylvari from a different Pale Tree since both offers more lore and plot opportunities.
Awesome job getting all the info dulfy.
