Well we’re getting to Mordy soon once October 23rd hits.
I’m more curious on how in the world have the Order and the Pact made little contact with any of DSD minions despite Inquests having captured some of them a live.
I think it more of use for Rifle for other Professions.
Other than giving Thief Rifle for a Sniper Elite Specialization what else can they do with th e other Elite Specializations?
Of course a Sniper Elite Specialization for Thief may have a weakness for close range combat for the Rifle skills only making the Sniper skill benefits only if enemies are far away.
As for other Professions what can they even give them that would use Rifle?
May be…
Exorcists for Revenant.
Hunter for Ranger.
Beyond that can’t think of much that would have Rifle fit into other Elite Specialization’s themes.
It’s not an obsession of not running with kits. It’s a desire to not run with 4 kits, to use other skills too, not to end up like a warrior with 5 setup heal/utility/elite skills you never wanna touch.
Yep as much Kits are part of Engineer playstyle so are the other skills Engineer has access to as well but the others are rarely used due to how Kits out shine majority of the Engineer’s skills driving a lot of players to ignore a lot of Engi’s skills and creating other builds that doesn’t require them to have kits take up most of the build’s function.
So do you think Elite Specializations would allow less demand for Engi to depend on kits. As of now it is difficult not to depend on kits as a Engi.
Players beens trying other builds that doesn’t require kits but they usually end up going back to Kits for better DPS.
A part of me hope Elite Specializations may bring in new builds that don’t require Kits one day so Engi can begin moving on to more Viable Kitless Type Builds one day.
I say no because Grenade Kit is one of the most basic things Engi use now for PvE, PvP, and WvW.
Unless the Elite Specializations provide something more to replace Grenade Kit it appears Grenade is a basic default skill for most Engi players if not the only skill that is needed for decent DPS.
There are dozens of ancient golems out and about, actually. Not just Oola’s.
That why I said " there are still golems around 250 years old that still function." in my first post.
I used Oola’s Golem as a example of one of the many Golem types still functioning for over 250 years.
Not to rude but I feel like you’re missing a lot of things I mentioned in my first post and just skimmed through it.

Considering we know each Elder Dragon should be a live but uses their own means to see and eat from far away locations it may not be far from the turth.
We know the Tendrils is how Mordremoth reachs things and tracks down magic as his means to See.
However, we don’t know how does Mordremoth’s eats so the Jungle Wurms may be his means to Eat Magic.
So M.O.X, Scruffy MR Sparkles and Hero-Tron DE 3.0?
That would make a interesting Season 3 side story or at least for some comedy relief.
Though it would be nice to have a GW1 character involved as a Main character. Ogden is too busy in the Priory now due to being one of the higher ranked members (though I wonder after 250 years he understands the Norm yet), Razah’s fate is currently Unknown but we know he can live forever due to being a Entity of the Mist, and Livia we don’t know what happened to her but there are rumors and ghost stories about her.
(edited by EdwinLi.1284)
That one of the mysterys of Tyria.
There are rumors something drove the GJW into the location where it is now but no one knows if this is true or not.
When the 5 champions attack the fortress in Silverwastes we see Jungle Wurms poping out of the ground and we fight the 5 champions inside the Jungle Wurms which is what caught my attention the most during the Silverwate events
Not to mention when we “Kill” the GJW it is not actually dead but when the events reset you can see it wake up and go back underground assuming to put itself back together.
Hopefully there will be more answers than questions in HoT storyline since we are going into the Maguuma Jungle which is assumed to be the origin of the GJW.

Out of all the elder dragons “Bubbles” seem to be only one in this entire game where we have not seen one of his Minions.
We have mention of DSD minions by the inquest since they captured one or maybe more in other inquest bases but even then we still manage to magically avoid seeing DSD minions.
Mordy’s minions was not much of a mystery since get to see his first type being the Husks in Crucible of Eternity.
Anyone want to guess when we may finally get to see a DSD minion?
I’m just throwing a curve ball and say maybe after we defeat all the other ED or sometime after we defeat Primordus, Jormag, or Kralkatorrik as the 3rd ED we defeat since so far DSD been avoiding the Order and Pact so DSD appears to be the only ED that can build his army with minimal interference.
They may lead to DSD having the largest Minion army.
While Engi does get gadgets that allow them to perform these feats, Lore wise they only perform these feats because of their gadgets they design and not out of their own physical abilities.
Other than that Thief also has a origin background called “Determination” which are Thiefs that are not stealthy but more direct in physical combat and taking risks which may explain part of the theme for Daredevil.
Daredevil so far seem to follow the concept of a “Determination” origin Thief.
Is it just me or does “daredevil” sound more like it should be a name for an Engi Elite Spec? I don’t know, Daredevil just makes me think of evel Knievel or any other sort of stuntman type of thing. Which to me would fit an Engi perfectly….
Daredevil fits Thief well since Thief is the acrobatic profession. Daredevils are a type of acrobats who do dangerous stunts so it more of a extention for Thief Acrobatics style being a style focus on getting up close and personal despite the dangers this style has. Stuntman also have to be acrobatic sometimes as well to perform the daring stunts they do.
Engineers are not known to be acrobatic enough to perform daring and dangerous stunts and are more about Technology.
If Engineer gets something related to Staff it may fit more for a Technomancer.

I highly doubt that Oola was 250 years old at any point… an ‘exceptional lifespan’ for asura is 120.
Unless you refer to her postmortem soul-in-a-golem state. Though there’s no evidence of her making more golems after that.
I’m talking about her Necro Powered Golems, not Oola herself.
Her Golems are currently over 250 years old but are still functioning due to their power source been Necro Energy.
Also, I mentioned Oola being in GW2 because her Soul is attached to her Golems. Oola’s Spirit becoming one with her Golem was only a side effect due to it being Necro Energy powering them for the past 250 years.
If I remember correctly M.O.X. used similar energy source but that was only one of his Energy due to the multiple forms he takes on each Avatar state.
(edited by EdwinLi.1284)
I can’t think of any references off the top of my head and I’m pretty sure there aren’t even references to his creator Zinn. That said, we can’t be certain M.O.X. is still functioning after 250 years. He might have been destroyed in battle or his energy source may have depleted entirely. If we get to see him, it will likely be in a non-functioning state.
M.O.X. may still be functioning since there are still golems around 250 years old that still function.
Oola’s Lab is a example where all her Golems she created still worked despite being almost 250 years old. Of course Oola herself is in GW2 as well due to her attaching her Soul into her Golem by infusing necro energy as a power source for her Golems.
If I remember correctly M.O.X. is powered by strong Magic energy as well which is why he can change his form based on his Avatar Stance.
We can always pray for their reveal next week.
Well at least one of them to be revealed and the week after that as well so we have all Elite Specialization revealed before the 3rd Beta testing
arenta… Seiran was also like that but she made every little thing fun and exciting in her part of the personal story but no one ever mentions her
and i agree with you yngrael i see caithe as someone who could possibly turn on everyone just because of folain and i also feel more sympathetic towards trahearne after the sylvari personal story
Ya Caithe has been very edgy with her loyalty the more you get to know her.
For example, in one Sylvari Personal Story for Green Huntsman she gave up on Occam without even trying. Of course Occam is fine no matter the choice due to becoming a member of the Pact later but still Caithe gave up way too quickly. Even the Mother Tree says she is at a dangerous mental state now and is at risk to become something dangerous.
Trehearne, while I don’t hate nor like him, is the character that gives the Player character’s room to do what the Player character does in GW2 since as the pact Leader Trehearne has other tasks he must priorities above his own needs off scene from Political debates and negotiations with each Race of Tyria, Military Planning, Office Meetings with Pact Officers, Projects Planning, Resource management, Contact gathering, Recuitment management, Desk Job tasks, A lot of Paperwork, and etc.
Compared to the Player’s Character, Trehearne has a real Job in GW2 while our character is just running around doing what he or she wants because he or she is free to do so until he or she is needed to help kill a Elder Dragon.
Of course free may not be so true with how “E” has been influencing where we go since Season 1 to Season 2.
(edited by EdwinLi.1284)
A new location of the HoT map?
Does that also mean we may get a different Main Storyline Mission that may focus on that new Map location?
Also, Faron Gone Wild sounds like a comedy TV show.
Did you make certain to always take the Alchemist Tree for the Alchemy traits. Alchemist will be one of Engi’s main source of condition cleansing.
They are just more vulnerable to be taken by Mordy’s influence but not all can be taken.
As Canach mentioned in the beta test main Storyline, if the Commander is a Sylvari, only the weak willed Sylvari are falling under Mordy’s control. The Stronger willed ones are mostly just hearing his voice in their heads like the Sylvari Commander/Boss.
I’m not talking about Darkness as a element like fire, water, earth, and lightning. I’m talking about appearance related theme. Like the monsters hiding in the Dark or in every cornor of your eyes, in the attics, or hiding in the night waiting while people ignore them despite knowing they’re there because they don’t want to believe they’re there.
For example, Kanaxai is a being of The Deep found in the deepest darkest part of the Jade Sea yet he is covered in Darkness on half his body but does not look like a being of the Sea.
However, for now let just agree to disagree since we have different views and definition of things. Besides Anet will eventually reveal the theme of DSD’s minions anyways but that part I’m more concerned with when since so far Anet has avoided getting DSD’s minions involved in the current Lands we can enter in Tyria with the only known DSD’s minion in Tyria is in Inquest captivity.
Worst case Anet won’t reveal DSD and DSD’s minions untill all other Elder Dragons are defeated saving DSD as the final ED since he been hiding in the Unending Ocean all this time building his army to be the largest of the Elder Dragons.
Middle case, Anet allows us to enter a Inquest base holding a minion of the DSD and we finally get to see what the DSD’s minions look like in HoT storyling or a Season Storyline.
Best case, Anet decideds to make Bubbles the next Elder Dragon we fight since lore wise DSD would be the ED the pact is least prepared for due to having hardly or no information about DSD and DSD’s minions compared to the other ED. Of course they may lead to another war in Lion’s Arch while every area with water randomly spawn DSD’s minion events.

Zhaitan does use darkness which relate more to his theme of death but that does not mean he is a being of Nightmares. After all Necromancy is commonly related to Darkness and with Zhaitan being a Giant Necromancer Dragon it would be suited for him to use Darkness Magics like any other Necromancer.
The Name for Personal story are mostly just names to describe the situation being how A Vision of Darkness is the Darkest Hour of Tyria where the Light of Hope is lost with the A Light in the Darkness representing how the Player character being a Light of Hope in this Darkest hour where people have given up on hope.
Also a being of Nightmare does not need to be related to Darkness. A being of Nightmare can take on many forms but the concept of Nightmare = darkness is just a concept more commonly used but still Nightmares can take on other forms and other elements.
Current lore of DSD describes the DSD’s minons as beings of Horrors which would fit more into the Nightmare theme. While the lore describe one of the minions being some kind of Tentecle Horror, the other minions of DSD is described to be Horror look.
We’ll get more info on DSD theme once we finally get to see a Minion of DSD since the only DSD minion we know about was last known to be in Inquest captivity.
(edited by EdwinLi.1284)
If i remember correctly didn’t Anet mention some Elite Specializations may be released as part of updates?
Although the DSD awoke in the deepest depths of the waters, it is Zhaitan that is tied with Shadow and thus darkness. And he had that plot of attacking the PC’s fear (though it isn’t very clear if Zhaitan actively did such or if it was mere coincidence).
Zhaitan was not about Nightmare but more about Death. He follow the theme of Death using their fear of death, fighting love ones who have died, and talking about death being the source of being reunited with loved ones.
Zhaitan appears to have a belief that death is the end all and be all answer as he uses his minions to represent what he says.
Attacking the Player’s fear was only a attack strategy as a mean of psychological warfare and a one time opportunity to break the Player’s character mentally.
Mordremoth, another example, follows the Nature theme being how uncontrollable it is. His minions are all pure plants but looking at them shows the aspect of how Nature is taking over. You’ll see dog remains being taken by plants, a Charr looking creature that has been completely covered in wood, and those Mordremoth things that appear to be Humanoids. Mordy appears to use the dead bodies of living beings and use plants to take over those bodies to follow his Nature theme.

It is the truth that people may need to learn to accept that a good amount, if not most of the bad players who don’t bother to learn how to play their profession, would just mindlessly stick with Zerker Build because of different reasons but mostly because they were told some where that Zerker is the only true build people will need if they want to do anything involving group content.
(edited by EdwinLi.1284)
The Engineer profession was created by the Charr Iron Legion. The Iron Legion distrust magic and rely on technology alone. I would find it highly unlikely if we see anything that seems like magic or uses magic to adapt technology be introduced to the Engineer profession. But who knows, this is all conjecture. I’m going based off of the lore and what’s been done for Engineer to date.
Well technology that adapts Magic is already in GW2 thanks the Asura’s advancements in their Technology.
Engineers is founded by Charr but don’t forget the profession lore also states that the Profession has been built on since the foundation by the other races adapting their own style of technology into the Engineer profession as well. Asura for the most has adapted their knowlodge of Dynamics, Statics, and Synergetics into Engineer’s knowledge which allowed them to develop their current Magic powered Golems, waypoints, and other technology
A Technomancy Elite Specialization for Engineer may have the lore of being founded by the Asura due to their knowledge of Technology and Magic.
Also, concerning any Magic theme it shouldn’t be a issue as well since as I said Technomancers also have a pure Scientific Version as well which doesn’t use any concept of Magic to explain how they perform their abilities. This Scientific version is often used for Sci-fi series though since the descriptions on how they use their abilities is often involving advance technology.
(edited by EdwinLi.1284)
I don’t think a master of mechanical mayhem would use a staff or a bow. We’ll be getting a hammer soon, so I don’t see the need for a mace either. My vote is for the Gatling Gun that was suggested above…or the Atomic artillery piece.
Like I said A Staff may fit Engineer if they decide to create a Technomaner Elite Specialization for Engineer.
Technomancy is a old type of Sci-fi/Fantasy theme for a Person or Being that uses Technology advanced enough to manipulate things that would fit into the the catagory of Magic or use Magic that can manipulate Technology.
Technomany can be pure scientific in nature, magic based in concept of advancing Magic Technology or manipulating Technology, or simply Technology that can use Magic depending on the genre it is used in.
It is rare to see Technomancy in games or other any Sci-fi or Fantasy series but it isn’t a well known concept in the Sci-fi and Fantasy genre due to not being used much compared to the other themes.
After all when people think Engineer, most people would think Technology but Technomancers are also Engineers since they can create Technology that adapts magic or something that may be mistaken as Magic or use Magic to adapt Technology into their Magic.
(edited by EdwinLi.1284)
It is the Gatling Gun!
A part of me still think we may get this one day as a Elite Specialization Kit Skill for Engineer.
While there are a lot of weapons that engineers could get access to, a lot of them would feel forced. Even more importantly, classes like Warrior is just running out of new weapons, and unles they start adding new ones, warriors would be forced into a magic theme.
That is why I belive we will see new weapon types in a future wave of Elite specs.
I don’t doubt we may get new weapons in the future of GW2 considering how things are with some Professions.
I’m more a bit concerned how long it will take before Anet decides to start adding new weapons.
As for Elite Specialization, well I don’t think all new weapons may be Elite Specializations exclusives. They may add some of them as Default Weapons so some professions may not need the Elite Specialization to use the new weapons.
Though I’m a bit more curious on what Elite Specialization may bring to gameplay change wise since part of Elite Specializations is to bring new gameplay mechanics to each profession which may allow them to change mechanics of current weapons as well if Anet plans on this. For Example, a Elite Specialization may allow the use of Aquatic Weapons on Land giving them new Land skills such as, as only a example, Guardian given a Elite Specialization called Paragon where their Spear aquatic Weapon can now be used for Land combat as a Range weapon since they may throw their spears. Along with a new set of Spear Skills for Land combat.
(edited by EdwinLi.1284)
I wish one day we can return to Cantha. It is my favorite place in GW1. There is also some mystery yet unsolved about Cantha left from GW1 such as what is Kanaxai.
I can’t help but think Kanaxai may have been a minion of the Deep Sea Elder Dragon since it would suit a theme for the Deep Sea Elder Dragon, despite currently we do not know the theme of the Deep Sea Elder Dragon, being a Elder Dragon of Nightmares since Deep Sea Dragon is hidden in the Deepest Darkest part of the Sea and there are mention Deep Sea’s minions are beings of horrors.
After all Nightmares are often created in the Dark.
(edited by EdwinLi.1284)
That is a nice look staff the Thief has there.
You know, the thief having a staff doesnt mean its a melee weapon: the staff is generally a ranged weapon in gw2.
On the other hand, the revenant uses the hammer as a ranged weapon, so what do I know, especially with a name like Daredevil :P
You must be a Daredevil to Dare defy the law of Staffs in RPGs and use it as a melee weapon.
(edited by EdwinLi.1284)
I think the next elite spec wave (or one after that) will include new weapons:
- Crossbow (Huntsman crafting)
- Battle Axe (Weapon smith)
- Grimnoir/Tome (Artificer)
So we would end up with crossbow. Probably some kinda saboteur theme with traps of some sort.
Wouldn’t that cost far more resources to create than a Engineer Elite Specialization that uses a current weapon that exists in the game? Those may work and may be possible if they plan to only release Elite Specialization for only Expansions and provide new sets of weapons per Expanion after HoT but I think they also mentioned some Elite Specialization may arrive through their Content Updates which would not give them much time to develop a bunch of new weapons and their skins to go with the weapons.
Of course they may have separate development teams working on the new Weapons and another team working on the Elite Specialization and Animation but that up to Anet if they want to introduce more Weapons into the game with the current 19 weapons (16 land and 3 aquatic).
Of course those may end up as a type of Kit skills as well if Engineer decides to create mechanical modifed Crossbows, Mechanized Battle Axe, and maybe the Grimnoir/Tome as what ever would a Engineer use a Grimnoir/Tome for like maybe creating special Golems, turrets, and drones. Think about it those three would make part for a interesting Kit Master Elite Specialization but instead of kits these weapons may be called Modified Weapons or Experimental Weapons.

Honestly I liked Trahearne best when he’s being awesome Necromancer guy. His helpfulness in the little combat he sees afterward just blows- and I fully blame that awkward as heck sword 1 through 5 skill-set.
I’m more greatful how Trehearne willingly take on the boring task that being the Leader of the Pact requries him to do from political bull..I mean negotiations, supply management, military planning, office meetings with Pact staff members, military meetings for military planning, contact gathering, Military project planning, Piles of Paper work, and etc.
These things most players would just ignore until a Elder Dragon attacks because they’ll be boring pointless task players would complain and hate about. Of course by then the Pact may be in ruins due to players neglecting these task for so long in players were made the Pact Leader.
It’s a Hammer.
I’m going to assume you did not read the title so I’m talking about the Elite Specialization after the 1st Elite Specialization we get in HoT which is the Hammer.
We know there are more to arrive after the 1st one as the Devs did confirm more are planned for the future.
I know this is too early but just for fun…
what do you think may be most likely to be the next set of weapons for Engineer’s next set of Elite Specializations after the 1st Elite Specialization?
So I think it would be Staff (melee) or Shot Bow or Long Bow.
Reason being
Staff for something along the line of Technomancer. Engineer is a technology themed Profession and a Elite Specialization that has Engineer use and develop technology advance enough to use Magic is a suitable theme for a Engi Elite Specialization. It can even have a Tech Gauntlet as the Elite Specialization’s armor skin theme for glove skin.
Shot Bow and Long bow mostly because of tech arrow. One of these two may be suited for a type of Kit Master Elite Specialization or a type of Utility new to Engineer. Kind of like the Survivalist Elite Specialization of the Engineer. Can’t really think what type of theme a short bow and long bow elite specialization for Engineer would be.
(edited by EdwinLi.1284)
I don’t think it will be slow since from how it looks the Hammer theme seems to be like a rocket propelled Hammer with the flame animation serving as the flashy animations showing it being pushed to hit faster with greater force as well but that is just my assumption from the animation shown in the HoT trailer.
I don’t think so. First, because I think Thrahearne will continue to be in that position. Second, because the player can’t have too many responsibilities in an organization because that would interfere with his adventuring and dragon-killing. Hmm, you’re kidding aren’t you?
Ya a lot of people seem to forget there is a lot of responsibilities being the Leader of the Pact that prevents a lot of freedom to go adventuring and stuff our character can do. These task are not shown much but they are not something that can be ignored if a person is the head of a organization.
There is paper work, military planning, information organization, military deployments, diplomatic meetings, political relation with each Race leaders, resource management, contact organization, and etc.
Ya they’re not combat action stuff that would allow the Pact Leader to go out and adventure whenever he or she wants but these are important things that are required to manage a Organization like the Pact. Something Trehearne excel at despite his lack of combat abilities which is where our character comes in to handle the Combat aspect of managing the Pact since we are the Commander and direct assaults and tough operations is our character speciality.
Trehearne handles the annoying politics with other races, paper work, millitary planning, supply trading, long meetings with high ranking officers, military base contruction planning, recuitment management, and other boring things a lot of players don’t want to do.
Our character handles the adventure, exploring, and operations.
Trahearne isn’t all bad. In fact, after replaying the campaign for my alt, the vegetable leader kinda grew on me. Granted, he isn’t your standard high fantasy leader, who is at the frontlines with his troops, but that isn’t what he’s good at.
The green Necromancer did fill the role of a general, or a field marshal. Him being a scholar fits, as there have been many historical generals and officers, who were far more competent outside of the battlefield. (doesn’t mean they were incompetent there either)
Some areas where a general applies his Skillset:
Planning force and Equipment.
Remember, when in forging the pact the first thing we had to do was talking to the best smiths in order to secute quality equipment for pact soldiers? The pacts constituent orders were competently trained troops to begin with, but it never hurts to be able to place custom orders. Also, with the help of Whispers and the knowlege of the Priory, the pact became the fist aiship deploying military force in Tyria.Planning mobilization and deployment.
The Vigil already has great tacticians and leaders, so Trahearne needed to decide on a strategy, brief the colonels and get everyone together to make war plans. This is not what most adventurers find interesting though, since it doesn’t involve much action. Instead you look at maps and coordinate your soldiers.Logistics
Trahearne has the added benefit of great knowlege on the terrain of Orr. On a tactical level, terrain is merely important, but on a strategical level, it dictates your supply routes and restricts campaign movement. Accurate maps of Orr are likely scarce, so a Scholar, who has evaded the undead for years is actually qualified to direct a campaign against Zhaitan. Logistical planning probably won’t drive adrenaline to high levels either.Personnel planning
The other important part He did right was to delegate. The orders were employed in their areas of expertise with enough liberty to make decisions on their own. The pact is large and complex, but the pact members know what they do. Trahearne didn’t fall into the micromanagement trap – When things didn’t go right, he sent his second in command to make sure they did.Operational command and leadership.
This is the point, that would have disqualified Trahearne from Pact command. I make no attempt at claiming Trahearne to be an inspiring leader.
This is where the pact could have fallen apart, if it weren’t for another person. Someone, who probably wasn’t impartial when it cam to order politics. However, that someone has proven his or her competence in actual battlefield performance and leadership even before Claw Island.
Whenever there was a critical mission to lead, whenever something had to work on the first try, this someone would stick up for Trahearne and accompany him into dangerous places. Whenever the Pact needed answers, or results, this person would deliver them. The problem with all that is, that all that stuff is only vaguely hinted at. You wouldn’t see Trahearne discuss strategical details with his staff. The Person to explain the three pronged invasion plan to you would be Tactician Falx and his northern and southern collegues.
I would have liked to see some more details on the organization and planning of the pact. I understand, that having you be part of many different staff meetings would have been tedious for many players, but I would have liked to see some of the reasons, why the invasion of Orr worked in the way it did. Some NPCs to talk to or, Trahearne visibly being engaged in pact leadership.
From what I could gather ingame, a lot of effort went into the campaign in Orr, but we, as players don’t get to appreciate it, because it is not presented.TLDR: It is not about Trahearne being a bad general (he isn’t except for his people skills) . The problem is, that the Personal Story wasn’t presented in a way, that made it feel truly engaging. (there are exceptions, the “Greatest Fear” missions, for instance.)
More dialogue (not even voiceover, just text) for the interested players and lore experts would have helped.
I think that was the main issue with the Personal Story for Zhaitan Arc. It lacked the parts showing why Trehearne was a leader and kept it mostly off scene. Everything our character went to meet Trehearne we would arrive right when he was done discussion all military strategies and operation plans in the Zhaitan Arc.
Not to mention as the Leader of the Pact he has less freedom than our character since he has to deal with the military operations planning against the Elder Dragons and politics of Tyria our character does not have to deal with. The freedom our character have now is only there because Trehearne takes on the tasks that would limit our character’s freedom off scene to explore the lands of Tyria, Dungeons, PvP in the Mist, improve on our own crafting, and etc.
So something I hope Anet has not forgotten being Malyck the sylvari from another Pale Tree also known as the Harbinger by the Nightmare Court.
Do you think he may appear as a Ally or as a Enemy?
(assuming Anet has not forgotten about him and his journey into the Magus Falls.)
Marjory's racism if you are not a Sylvari PC

Can’t really blame her since right now Sylvari are just revealed to be Dragon Minions in HoT timeframe. People can’t tell which Sylvari to trust and who will turn any moment.
Being with a Sylvari in HoT time frame is like being next to Fire. It can keep you warm from the cold or burn you.
Masteries and XP should be one system not two
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: EdwinLi.1284
Mastery System is also account bound if I remember correctly from beta since all my Beta characters shared the Mastery progress.
As I tested the beta version of the Mastery system it seems the Mastery System is Account bound so all progress is shared with all characters.
ToK is faster for leveling a single character but with Mastery System being account bound I can see why they wouldn’t want players to suddenly max level a account level system with ToK since players will not be leveling a individual character when leveling Mastery but as a Account leveling system.
If Mastery System was not account bound then it would be less of a issues for ToK to be used. However, currently Mastery System is based as a Account leveling system.
For example, if a player unlocked gliding and mushroom jump in the Mastery system already then all new lvl 80 characters will also have gliding and mushroom jump as well once they reach lvl 80.

Didn’t Anet mention a while ago that Masteries will be tied into the new Legendary Weapons when they were discussion how new Legendary Weapons are obtained differently?
From how they describe things it sounded like players may have to max level the Mastery before they can obtain the Legendary Weapons or obtain a vital part of creating the new Legendary Weapon but that is just a guess.
However, if this is true it would make sense that players would not be able to power level Mastery with ToK since that would obtained the new Legendary Weapons too easy.
I think there was even a guess that one of the Unknown Mastery is a Mastery track focused on giving parts for the new Legendary but as I said that was just a guess and should not be taken seriously.

Going back to GW1 skins I would like to see…
Mursaat theme
Obsidian theme
and maybe some GW1 Campaign themed sets
The death hammer of death………………………………yes.
Nah I’d prefer the upgraded version: The Deadly Deathly Death-Hammer of Death.
Forget that! We need a Ban Hammer skin!
More technology themed weapons.
Hopefully less drippy looking and more tech looking.
Probably a Elite Specialization or 2 may be announced beofre next beta unless they plan to announce all remaining 4 first before hitting next beta.
I’m still a bit surprised Ranger and Engineer’s Elite Speicalization the Forge and Druid are not fully revealed yet considering both Engi and Ranger were both shown in the reveal trailer for HoT.
Though considering they’re no longer releasing trailers for each Elite Specializationr reveal guess it is just balance and development still going on.
As of currently the only way to handle condition bursts is, in my opinion, to constantly chug down potions with the Alchemy tree contion removal for all potion trait.
So you’ll have to get use to drinking potions like a additction as Engi to handle condition bursts.
but it will be Hammer time for Engi in HoT.
So far resistance has not been difficult at all to deal with. The boon is generally short duration and not frequently accessible, and can be stripped/corrupted as well.
Those small seconds can still add up with those second preventing conditions from damaging the player with the resistance. Along with preventing any type of stun lock.
For example, Warrior gets 6 seconds of resistance from Healing Signet on them but during those 6 seconds they will take no Condition damage nor condition effect which the only damage they can take is direct damage. That 6 seconds is a loss of DPS from conditions which a condition build would lose due to putting dps into condition damage.
Currently being preHoT we only got some of the Resistance skills/traits so it easy to deal with currently but with more to arrive in HoT that may change slightly or greatly.

So with the introduction of Resistance in HoT, what do you think will happened to the condition builds Engi does a lot of damage on?
Introduction of Resistance would mean introduction of new possible builds design to nullify conditions or at least reduce the damage effect of conditions.
Depending on how much Resistance is added into each profession this would certainly still reduce condition damage and effects.

For those who do not like them revealing Revy Elite spec now, for whatever reason, think on the bright side being now all Revy info should be finished so only thing left is the other professions.
Unless they plan to reveal Revy’s underwater combat as some kind of single announcement info.
