Seperate the Personal Story into 3 different concurrent lines rather than acts

I’ve seen Personal story as
(lvl 1 – 30) Personal life
(lvl 30 – 50) Order life
(lvl 50 -80) Confronting the Elder Dragon.

If Anet has plans to follow Personal story this way for all Story acts it would explain why they left the Personal life part of our character story unfinished in Act 1 since they may have future plan to continue the Personal Life part of our character story for each Act rather than having all acts after Act 1 be about defeating the Elder Dragon 100% of the time.

I have no issue with Trahearne at all. I actually like him because unlike most of the Main characters he understands his position better than the others. Ya his personality is bland but I’ve seen plenty of bland personality characters like his in many games already that people usually need time to get to know first.

The separation of the story from Main and Personal is basically how each character is categorized.

Main Story: Logan, Caithe, Rytlock, Zojja, Eir, and Trahearne

Personal story: Our Character

Personal Story is just our perspective (point of view) of what is happening in the Main Story.

like the first part of our personal story before we join the order.

Main story: What the members of Destiny Edge did before they went to be reunited.

Personal Story: What our character did before we joined the Order.

The Personal story is just our character point of view of the main story like that side character you see all the time in a Main Story of a video game that pops up a lot and makes important events happen but people never get to know until another story is released telling this side character side of the Main story.

I’ve just complete the skritt path of the story and notice how Tybalt talks a bit about his past involving a bomb. He doesn’t talk much of it but it seems that he may have failed to properly activate a bomb properly before joining the Order of Whispers which cost him his entire warband.

What do you all think happened in Tybalt’s past that would make him fear large bombs?

@Forgotten Legend

Trahearne is till the leader of the Pact. At that point of the story he only made you the temporary Marshall because he was greatly weakened from purifying Orr. After all did you expect someone to purify a entire Nation from the corruption of a being powerful enough to change the very face of the world without suffering a horrible withdraw from using such a powerful magic?
Trahearne did state that he can’t go because of his condition and also if he had gone with us he would of been a burden to because he was in his horrible condition.

Get use to Personal Story because we still have 4 Story Acts (each covering each remaining Elder Dragon) or more that will be arriving with Act 2 being released as just a Major Update with 2 new dungeons and new areas later.

Act 1 so far has only set the stage for the Personal Story of GW2 for our character rather than being the entire story of GW2.

You may not like Personal story now but I don’t mind since the only issue I have is just how unorganized the story is for now.

I’ve been think about the Legendary Weapons lately lore wise.

Where did they come from?
What makes them so special from the other weapons with their flashy effects and shiny look?
Were there people before our Hero who created these legendary weapons years ago?
How come we can craft such powerful weapons of legends?
Who were the original founders of each Legendary Weapons?

These question keep coming up in my head about legendary weapons and it would be interesting to learn the lore behind each legendary weapon.

The Personal Story - my feedback

Act 1 of Personal Story, for me, felt like all it did was set the stage for the future Personal Story they have planned for GW2. Basicallly Act 1 only set the stage for what the Personal Story will be in the future which is why it feels incomplete because it is just the first chapter of the countless others to come. Like the second Pale Tree you mentioned. We most likely will see is later in GW2 story as a import part for that part of the GW2 story.

Trahearne felt like how they introduced Eve in GW1 Prophacies (Prophacies being Act 1 of GW1). Half-way into the story and suddenly Trahearne is introduced with little background like Eve was. Heck, Eve didn’t get any love until Act 2 of GW1, which was Factions, with her funny dialogues and stuff. She was, from the beginning before Faction even existed, “who is that character and why is she important?” type character while Trahearne is “Who is that character and why does the story focus so much on him?” type character for now.

For now I’m holding off judging characters since Act 1 seems to be the introduction of a long story that is to come like a essay where they will have to go back and refer to the points they made in the introduction paragraph.

What exactly ARE the Elder Dragons?

in Lore

Posted by: EdwinLi.1284

EdwinLi.1284

Well from what we learned when we reached Orr the Elder dragons goal so far is to devour all magic in the world. They have a mind and seems have the ability to be reasoned with but they seem to attack the other races and use them as minions because they see us as tools they can use to help gather more magic to eat and once they are done with all magic in the world the only magic left is in us so they most likely plan to devour all life as their last meal before going to sleep again until more magic returns to devour and new life to be used have returned to the world.

Only questions left for me is why do they only desire to eat only magic and why do they have this superiority complex over all life in the world.

What's the purpose of the 3rd racial question?

EdwinLi.1284

Ya Anet can make good story but it seems Act 1 was a bit too unorganized with parts of the story. One being that they should of some how shown what happened to the people we meet before we joined the order later in the story after we joined the Order. Another being their lack of separating the Main Story from the Personal Story at Claw Island. Main Story Wise Trahearne was going to be the Main character for that part of the story but the issue is they focused too much on the Main story aspect rather than the Personal Story which is our character point of view of the Main Story. Also, they should of at least introduced Trahearne earlier in the Personal story for all races and have him foreshadow the events of Claw Island before we joined the Order which would of made his appearance in the story less of a excuse for people.

(Currently now people are using only Trahearne as their reason for the Personal story being bad but it not Trahearne but how Anet handled introducing him without all races to know him better before Claw Island and how they focused too much on telling the Main Story rather then the Personal Story)

Characters of GW2 with GW1

in Personal Story

Posted by: EdwinLi.1284

EdwinLi.1284

It because Story wise Trahearne was introduced similar to how Eve was in GW1 Prophacies. Eve was introduced to our GW1 character in prophacies half way into the storyline like Trahearne was in GW2 while Devona and the others were already introduced from the beginning.

Story wise she was there in the beginning of the story but was never seen until half way into Prophacies. Trahearne was there from the beginning but doesn’t actually join the story until half way into the story.

If they continues with Trahearne properly people would like him better if Anet can take the time to provide more background about him or at least allow us to know him better.

The treatment of Trahearne now is just players being angry at how Anet handled Act 1 of the Personal story. Yes they should of focused more on our character rather than Trahearne but what they did wrong was actually separating the Main Story from the Personal Story once we reached Claw Island. Main Story wise Trahearne is the Main Character of the Main Story during that point but Anet focused too much on the Main Story rather than focusing on the Personal Story aspect of that part of the Main story. Separately Personal Story is our character’s perspective(point of view) of the Main story not the Personal Story being the Main story.

For now I’m waiting tell next act to get to know the characters more since Anet already set who will be the characters of the Main story while our character is just telling their side of the Main Story through Personal Story.

Separating Main Story and Personal Story

in Personal Story

Posted by: EdwinLi.1284

EdwinLi.1284

I don’t really have a problem with the Personal story like most of the people do right now. However, i would like to see it be more organized in the future Acts. Currently now the early parts of the game does feel like a personal story but once we reach Claw Island the Personal Story seems to become less focused.

No, i don’t find Trahearne to be the problem because it seems Anet originally planned him to become the Main Character of the Main Story for Act 1 at the point. The issue is the lack of properly separating the Main Story with the Personal Story.

(Main Story Characters)
Main characters: Logan, Caithe, Eir, Rytlock, Zojja, and Trahearne.
Side Characters: Our characters

(Personal Story Characters)
Main characters: Our Characters
Side Characters: Logan, Caithe, Eir, Rytlock, Zojja, and Trahearne.

The issue now with Personal story is how it switched from the Personal Story to the Main Story once it reach Claw Island. Anet currently needs to find a way to prevent the Main Story from becoming our Personal Story while still maintaining the Main Story of GW2.

However, if they can’t prevent this from happening again then we can expect that Anet will have a new Character for the Main Story in future Acts become too focused in our Personal Story like Trahearne did.

Ya I think anet needs to provide more personal story that involves continuing these early parts of our story before we joined the order in the Future Acts.

I plan to work on this suggestion later but for now i only have a small amount of ideas.
basically for each New Story Act the first parts of the Personal story should continue the story of the early stages of our Personal story before we move on to defeating the next Elder dragon. Basically like telling the story of what we did after defeating the certain Elder Dragon and before we begin our next plan to defeat the next Elder Dragon.

For example:
If we saved Quinn as a Street rat our charcter will visit Quinn and Riot Alice to see how they’re doing while we were gone to defeat Zhaitan. However, if you chosen to stop the poison our character visits Quinn’s Grave with Riot Alice (with a sad scene of our character talking to Quinn’s grave about Zhaitan finally being defeated and stuff) and discover how the town is now since you stopped the poison.

Same complaining and same argument in this same thread tons of people made. Yes i do agree that he was introduced in a bland way where most people don’t know him well enough but right now I’m holding off hating Trahearne until we get to know him a bit more in the future Acts of Personal Story Anet is still working on. So far Anet still follow the story that Action makes the true hero and not fame.
Yes history wise Trahearne will get the credit but reality wise the real hero is you despite not getting the fame. So far the story doesn’t follow the Savor of the world stuff for our character who people build statues and tell stories of but the path each people must follow to make defeating the Elder Dragons possible.

Trahearne being the founder and leader of the Pact which is the only army that can stand up towards the Elder Dragons
Destiny Edge being the ones who will truly defeated the Elder Dragons
Our Hero being the one who will make these possible being not a hero but a person who chosen to do what others did not. Not for fame, fortune, nor glory but for protecting what he cares about through those choices.

If you chosen to save Quinn in Act 2 story you get to see what he and Riot Alice been up to while you were gone. However, if you chosen to stop the poison you will visit Quinn’s grave with Riot Alice and learn more of what happened because you stopped the poison.

(Lost sister in Act 2)
You visit your sister to see how she is doing now and you discover more about the conspiracy that Caudecus started and hopefully put a end to it.

Readjusting Dungeon Token Rewards system

in Suggestions

Posted by: EdwinLi.1284

EdwinLi.1284

So far the dungeon developers attempts to stop speed runners or exploiters have resulted in a disaster with their new systems punishing players who play well in dungeons and those who don’t.

Issue with Token Reward system now:
-Right now the token reward system lowers token rewards for clearing a dungeon run faster than Anet wants people to and for running dungeons more times than they should. Sadly these two new systems have back fired and punishes people who do not exploit or speed run at all as well.

My Suggestion:

Replace these systems with 1 new system which is this ideal i have.

The new system will naturally lower token rewards the more runs you have for 1 single dungeon path and if you run a different dungeon path it will give you a separate dungeon token reward.

For example

Caudecus’s Manor:

Seraph Route :
1st run = 60 tokens
2nd run = 45 tokens
3rd run =30 tokens
4th run and more runs =15 tokens

Asura Route:
1st run = 60 tokens
2nd run = 45 tokens
3rd run =30 tokens
4th run and over =15 tokens

Butler Route:
1st run = 60 tokens
2nd run = 45 tokens
3rd run =30 tokens
4th run and over =15 tokens

The token rewards are separate for each route so if you do Asura Route for 60 tokens and go for Butler route next you will get 60 tokens from Butler route. However, if you do Asura route and Asura route again you will only get 60 tokens and then 45 tokens.

Basically if you run Seraph route then Asura route on your 2nd run in the dungeon and then Butler Route on the 3rd run you will get 60 tokens plus 60 tokens plus 60 tokens which is 180 tokens as Anet originally planned (but is not working now due to their current new dungeon reward system having issues separating between exploiters/speed runners and organized/honest players).

However, if you decide to run it like Seraph route then another Seraph route then Asura route you will only be given 60 + 45 + 60 tokens which is only 165 tokens for your first 3 runs of the day because you already done the Seraph route once already.

If you were to run Seraph route 3 times in 1 day then your reward will be 60+45+30 which is only 135 tokens because for each run you do on that single route the next time you do that same route the token rewards naturally decrease so it would be better to do the other 2 routes if you want more tokens. After the 3rd run the 4th run and more runs on the Seraph route will only reward 15 tokens.

I know a lot will think this is a bad idea because they will think “hey I don’t run dungeon a lot, and I rarely do, so why should I be punished for running the same route again?” The suggestion may not be ideal but it will help at least prevent people who does the dungeons properly from being punished over a action they do not do. Also, you are still rewarded well since if you want more dungeon tokens then you just perform each different dungeon routes once each day. Which means each day you can get 180 tokens by simply going though the 3 different dungeons routes of Ascalonian Catacombs, Caudecus’s Manor or the other dungeons once day (As Anet originally planned for this current new system but is currently not working and backfiring on players now because it is not working)

It also helps get people to run the other dungeon route which is what Anet trying to do currently and it also lowers the rewards for people who would try abuse the idea that they have a much easier time with only 1 route in this 1 dungeon and just ignore the other 2 or more routes because they find it difficult or impossible to do or just want to make a quick buck in the game. Yes the token rewards seems reasonable until the 4th run of that one path but if you don’t enjoy the token reward for the 4th run of the same path you can either stop for the day and wait tell tomorrow for the token rewards to reset or try a different route run and go through that same run 3 times and stop once you are done that same route 3 times. which will give you about 270 tokens a day for only going through 2 different routes 3 times a day.

You are welcomed to go for more then 4 runs in a day but your token rewards will remain only 15 until it is reset tomorrow unless you run a different dungeon route that has not been done over 3 times.

EdwinLi.1284

I think the main issue is that the dungeon designers are trying too hard to make people perform the dungeons within the time frame they think it should take them.

As you can see the result are these current issues with dungeons. What they need to do now is either adjust the HP of certain enemies in dungeons to be lower or adjust the current damage rate certain enemies does.

We all currently agree that enemies in Dungeons have way too many HP to the point it takes too long to kill them and Damage rate is way to high to the point it can kill us in either 3 or 2 hits if you don’t have very high Toughness.

Having both high HP and very high damage rate for all the mobs (both trash, elite, and boss) in dungeons so far has cause all these negative feed back about dungeons and seem to have backfired on the dungeon developers.

They need to lower one of these two in the dungeons because having both of these for the Dungeon enemy mobs so far is the problem about 95% of the forums are complaining about in dungeons.

starting to see a lack of people for dungeons!

I think Anet should to add a solo mode but have it being a separate story from explorer mode or continue the story of explorer mode.

Basically make Solo mode like a personal story instance and have a separate story from explorer mode but the token rewards are less than Explorer mode.

for example:

(1st runs of the day)
Explorer path complete= 15 tokens +15 tokens found in chests.
Solo Path complete = 5 tokens + 10 tokens found in chest

(Extra runs)
Explorer path complete= 5 tokens +15 tokens found in chests.
Solo Path complete = [Random Mastercraft, rare, or exotic weapon or armor scaled to your level range (small chance of getting any exotic weapons or armor )] + 10 tokens found in chest

(Note: when I mean any Exotic I mean any Exotic. Even the Exotics you need for the Legendary weapon)

After all leaving the cutscene showing only them heading to hold off the giant undead army and the gate closes to prevent us from seeing if they actually died or not leaves room for future plot if they have plans to keep them alive. After all Logan survived the same scene in Arah's story mode and we saw him come save our character with a "few" extra help.

EdwinLi, that certainly would’ve helped combat how jarring his entrance into the story is, particularly for non-Sylvari, but it’s just a small part of the problem. And I’m not sure how you can say this isn’t a common hero story, as it’s as common as you can get. There’s nothing about the personal story that really sets apart from your standard fantasy tale (and that’s okay). The whole issue with Trahearne isn’t so much a problem with the story itself, it’s a problem with how the story treats Trahearne (especially in comparison to you, the supposed main character).

“The most important thing in any game should be the player. We have built a game for them.”
That’s a direct quote from Ree Soesbee. The player does not feel important when the game repeatedly tells them that Trahearne is the famous, glorious hero who saved Tyria.

Well the game does have plenty of dialogue that shows that the NPCs you meet will see you as a hero but those are the normal Dialogues people would normally miss if they don’t take their time to talk to NPCs in the Story instances and mostly talk to the NPC before leaving the Story instance once you finish that story instance since that when most of the Dialogues shows how those NPCs recognize you as the real hero because they were there with you in those fights the NPCs you don’t meet talks about.

It may be small but at least it a start. I just hope Anet starts adding these kind of dialogues in the cutscenes more in Act 2 and higher Story Acts rather than having them as normal NPC dialogues you can easily miss if you’re not the type to take your time to talk to NPCs before leaving story missions so people would stop missing these kind of dialogues and make them feel like the story still about their heroes Personal point of view of the Main Story.

I think Trahearne would had a better impressing on others if Anet made him appear during the early stages of the Personal Story before joining the Orders for all races since he does Travel the World to study and find a way to save Orr before he appeared in Claw Island. Sylvari players have a better impression on him because they got a chance to meet him early on and get to know him a bit before they joined the Orders but the other races did not. It would also help set the stage for the events of Claw Island because before he leaves he could have foreshadow the events of Claw Island before he moved on and then we meet him again in Claw Island.

Personal Story: Hero through Fame or Actions?

in Personal Story

EdwinLi.1284

Let discuss how you all pictured the personal story of your hero.

So far there has been conflict on this forums about how the personal story should of been about our characters becoming a Hero through…

- Fame and Glory (people should recognise our characters actions and tell stories and honor them like celebrities)

or

- Actions (what makes a true hero is not his fame and fortune but his actions alone despite never being noticed by others)

So how do you picture the Personal story?
(PS please do not discuss how Trahearne steals the fame and glory. We have enough of these discussion threads already)

So far i think Anet follows the what makes a true hero is not his fame and glory but his or her actions for the personal story so far. Makes me wonder how will Anet continue this policy once they release Act 2 since we know every Hero NPC has a Destiny to follow like how Trahearne becoming leader and the founder of the Pact and how Destiny Edge must be the ones who defeats the Elder Dragon while our hero must be the center of these things to make these destinies possible.

Having High Vitality without having high Healing can cause issues such as not healing a good amount of your percent HP back because of your High Vitality.

Just continue the story since eventually once Act 2 is released in 2013 you’ll need to complete it if you want to progress to Act 2.

Just ignore what people say and decide for your self like I did. I personally had little problem with the story a side from how unorganized some parts of the story can be. Such as how some characters say nice to meet you for the first time but you already met them long before that mission.
I’m still sad how many people wanted the personal story to be about your Hero becoming famous and honored throughout Tyria for saving the world like a common Hero story when by now people should of realized that Anet is following the philosophy of “what makes a true hero is not his fame and glory but by his or her own actions.”

Have any of you returned to see how many new NPCs are now in your Home Instance after Act 1 of the Personal Story?

I have and there is a lot of new NPCs in my Human Home Instance within Divinity Reach.

For start

Mira who you meet in Claw island now lives in the Tavern on the 2nd floor.

Exemplar Mehid and Exemplar Salia now stands outside the Tavern

the Skritt (since I chosen them as allies) now live in the back ally of my Home Instance.

Laranthir can now be found near the entrance to my Salma District. (and I didn’t meet this guy until Orr part of the story)

Scholar Octavian Inkblood is seen buying things in the center of Salma District.

a few dialogues have been changed from the NPCs you know. Like how (if you’re a commoner) Petra talks about how little i visit and how Andrew enjoys bragging about how he knew who i was before I helped to defeated Zhaitan.

However, this is only from a Human Story. The Race you are will have your Home Instance affected more than the other Home Instances.

The first dungeon Ascalonian Catacombs begins after you join your Order and after that it works their way up as you progress through the personal story. When they happen is shown as you progress through the personal story from letters you obtain from the member of Destiny Edge you befriend during your first part of Act 1.

I would like to have the ability to repeat personal story missions as well. It would be a good way to see any dialogue or hidden dialogue you missed because you didn’t notice it the first time.

Ya the Sword doesn’t turn ghostly at Night time as well but the Greatsword still turns into a Ghost sword at night.

The Elder Dragon's Hunger and Reason [Spoiler]

WARNING: If you have not reach Orr part of the story for Act 1 please do not read any farther from this point since it will spoiler a few discoveries about the Elder Dragons reason for attacking all life on Tyria and their main goals.

By now mostly everyone have reached Orr and discovered that Elder Dragon’s goal has been to devour all magic in the world to satisfy their hunger and once they’re done and all possible source of magic from the living to simple objects have been devoured they will return to slumber again and wait until new magic have returned to the world to devour once again.

The big questions now is why does the Elder Dragons can only eat magic, where did they come from, and when did this cycle began in the first place. I know Anet will explain this in their future Personal Story Acts but I just can’t help but think about this now.

I can only assume the reason for the Elder Dragons only devour magic is because they are from a time when creatures only eat magic as their source of food but as magic became lesser the creatures of the world eventually started to devour each other until only the Elder Dragons remained. Due to the lack of food and how each Elder Dragon were at a stalemate with each other they could not take anymore magic and so were forced to wait in a state of hibernation until enough magic in the world have returned.

Of course we know by now that was a time before the 6 original Gods appeared in Tyria. Since these Elder Dragons have been in the world of GW long before the 6 gods but by the time of the 6 gods arrived in the world the Elder Dragon have already long falling into their hibernation state.

We also learned that the Elder Dragons are not as powerful as we all originally believed. The Elder Dragons still fear their own death and are aware that we are able to defeat them from the very beginning if all races had united which is why they have spent their entire time hiding behind their minions rather then handling us themselves.

So what do you all think the reason for the Elder Dragon’s desire to devour all magic in the world and other things?

The only issue I find with this mission is that the NPC allies levels are way too low. Because of how easily slaughter they can be by the enemy NPCs the mission basically leaves you to handle the entire enemy mob by yourself.

Actually the Goal of the Elder dragons has been revealed during the story in Orr through discovering the purpose of the Mouths of Zhaitan. It seems the Elder Dragons goals are to devour all magic in the world to satisfy their hunger. Once all Magic in the world has been devoured they will just go back to sleep again and wait tell the magic has returned to the world to begin devouring it again.

Basically like how Reapers harvest the higher civilizations in ME to turn into new Reapers but with the Elder Dragons it is so they can satisfy their hunger.

The big question right now is why the Elder dragons need to feed on only magic, where did they came from, and when did this cycle of return, devour, and slumber began.

Also, I don’t think the elder dragons can simply appear right off the bat in the very beginning of each story Act since as shown the reason why they hide behind minions is because they know they’re weak because they’re still hungry. Until they can consume enough magic to be at their full strength the Elder Dragons will remain deep in their territory until enough magic has been consumed.

When we fought Zhaitan he was actually still weak, with or without his supply of magic to eat, because he still has not taken enough magic in the world. It is why he did not decide to go after our hero and the pact himself and remained in Arah. When we face Jormag we most likely have to wait tell near the end of the story act before we can see him since he is still in the same condition as Zhaitan, still hungry for more magic and not at full strength.

I believe Anet has plans to make Act 2 a non-expansion story Act. They have plans for 2 new dungeons to be released in 2013 as major updates along with new areas for Tyria to go with them and no it is not just merely 2 new areas so you can go to these dungeons but some where over 3 new areas.

Since every dungeon story mode is part of the Personal Story story wise we can expect the next Elder dragon Act once they release this update to the game.

Have you tried to run a dungeon with 3 or 4 warriors with For Great Justice to spam? Let me just say that is one way to handle a dungeon no matter your class.

What GW1 Lore have you spotted?

All of this and you have not found the “Temple of Ages” in Queensdale yet? Shame on you.

Jokes aside:
Temple of Ages – Queensdale Skill Point in the swamp.
Dagnar Stonepate Dragon Blood Sword " The Sanguinary Blade" – Priory story path only.

I know not many would remember Dagnar Sword since it was only briefly mentioned back in GW1 lore during GW1’s early years about the stone summit but the story that Anet expanded on this sword in GW2 helps explains why the Stone Summit are evil and hint to what may have happened to the Stone Summit since we know that the sword was made out of dragon’s blood, as mentioned back in GW1, but now that we confirmed it is the blood of Jormag we can expect to see the Stone Summit again in GW2 once we reach the Jormag Act of the Story.

They do such a good job dancing around player names in GW2 dialogue that I think they could find ways to make more solid references to our GW1 characters. And even if the specific character you’re named after didn’t do all of those things, there was still someone who did.

I don’t really think the unknown soldier tomb is a reference, just because of the unknown part. Considering you traveled with them the entire trip to Kryta, they would have remembered your name.

Seems like all the heroes and henchmen are the ultimate spotlight stealing squad, since they’re getting statues, and monuments, and book deals, even though you were the leader. Didn’t someone at least write our biography?

Sadly our GW1 biography was recorded by Kimmes the Historian and placed in the Hall of Monuments but ever since the Hall of Monuments became lost and deteriorate over time most of the biography was lost. However, Kimmes still remembers the hero of GW1 so if Anet have plans for the Eye of the North to be incorporated into the Personal Story in the future we most likely will get a more understanding of how our GW1 hero was recorded in History.

However, we most likely may get more of our GW1 hero biography later in the future Personal story but for now they remain as the unknown heroes of GW1 time history wise.

I just hope they add something a little more about our GW1 hero if they incorporate the EotN into the Personal story such as if you link your GW1 account to your GW2 account those monument spots will provide a mini-cutscene showing a Historical record of your achievements for everything you placed in those Monument spots.

For example: the Fellowship will show a mini-cutscene of what happened to all the Hero Companions you placed in the monument there (with each character only getting a very short clip of what happened to them after GW1).

Sadly right now the HoM is just a place of nostalgia.

Remaining GW1 Stories in GW2 [Spoilers]

With most of the stories covered already in the time frame between GW1 and GW2 the only thing left in the lore are the surviving characters or what happened to the certain characters yet unanswered.

1) The White Mantle
With them still running around it begs the question what has this long ancient enemy been up to. They may have been weakened but a member of their Unseen Gods is still alive which leaves room that sometime in the future Personal story they may become a major villain again that will become a issue if we don’t deal with them before fighting the next Elder Dragon.

2) Lazarus the Dire (the last Mursaat)
The Last time we saw this Mursaat was back in GW1 in a EotN side quest and during that quest his powers became crippled and his final words to us was “Accursed human! You have done this to me! I will not forget this!” “Countless generations will suffer for your actions this day!” I can only assume he is hiding out until he finds some way to regain his lost power but I can’t help that so called way may lead to using the energy of a Elder dragon which you know how well that will end.

3) Ogden Stonehealer
We all know this person history but then there is the History of what happened with his life after GW1 and when and why he has chosen to take up the right. Also, as Ogden mentioned in Arah explorer he is the only “Living” Dwarf left which implies he still has his mind in tack and is not mindlessly obsessed with destroying the Elder Dragons like the other Stone Dwarfs.

4) What happened to the Stone Summit and why they suddenly disappear without going through the right?

Their disappearance still remain a mystery but hints that their disappearance may be related to Jormag has been left in GW2 in our personal story if you taken the Priory Story path. They could have become Iceblood Dwarfs (like Stone dwarf but with Iceblood) and now serve Jormag as his elite army that we will only meet once we reach deeper into Jormag’s territory.

So what do you all think of all these remaining questions?
