No love for my /Rifle/Dredge idea?

Molachev was the de facto leader of the Dredge during their time of Rebellion against the stonesummit dwarves. Since then the Dredge replaced the Dwarves in the Shiverpeak mountains and being a main antagonist for the Norn for supremacy over the Mountains.

The Utility skills you can see on my post on the first page, based on Shouts and Revolution. The Weapon Skills could mimic dredge technology. Sound based attacks. So the Rifle don’t shoots bullets but sonic waves. Main Condition on the Weapon AA would be Confusion+bleeding(bleeding ears), with fire and Torment on other skills

While interesting as it is there may require to look on to the Legend himself such as if the legend himself actually used those abilities during his life.

Currently part of the Legends is that the weapons are representing the legends him or herself such as the Shield representing Glint’s Wings, Swords representing Shiro’s swords, and Mace/Axe represents Mallyx’s hands and the Utility Skills are abilities the Legend may have or did use during their life.

Another issue with sonic weapon rifle is if the weapon existed back then and was it used by Molachev. The Sonic weapons were not invented during GW1 timeframe and we are uncertain if they were made during Molachev’s life to be used by him in any form.

(don’t mean to sound rude when I typed this since this is just my opinion of the issues with this legend)

1. Rifle/pistols – What legend? I don’t know. Maybe a random pirate.

I’ve been wondering what a gun and rifle legend would be if they manage to make those two weapons work for Revy.

As I mentioned before the weapons for each legend also represent a part of that legend.

Hammer – Jalis’ Hammer
Swords – Shiro’s Blades.
Staff – Ventari’s Staff
Mace/Axe- Mallyx’s Hands
Shield – Glint’s Wings

but what Legend in GW1 would have a Gun represent them well enough that the Rilfe or Pistol represents a part of that legend.

Maybe Kuunavang as a Legend for Rifle or Pistol to represent how Kuunavang attacks by shooting her scales at the players back in GW1 with the Utility being the Celestial Skills.

The Weapon skin may be a dragon type look. Of course the look may work better with Rifle due to how Kuunavang appearance is.

And Mallyx didnt used mace/axe set i believe. Glint wasnt using shield either.

Mallyx main passive attack is blunt attacks by his hands which was smashing with his hands and slashing with his claws. I think the Mace/Axe is a representation of how he attacks with his fist, being the Mace, and claws, being the Axe.

On topic:
Ya I don’t see Revy as a Profession that would use the newer weapons to GW2 lore. The Lore of Revy is to follow Legends of GW1 which they didn’t use guns.

A Torch may be possible depending on who is the GW1 Legend chosen since it a Torch still existed in GW2 but not as a weapon but a Pistol and Rifle is at the bottom of the barrel of being a Elite Spec in my opinion.

The Shield is meant to represent Glint’s Wings.

Each weapon seems to represent each of the Legends in some form though it would require knowing the character’s lore to know what part the weapons represents.

Not going to lie but most of the bosses can be difficult if you try to melee them due to the bosses heavy hitting melee attacks nature.

Best way to handle them is to use Range weapons so you always have room to get out of range from those heavy hitting attacks before the bosses use them and/or kill the enemy from a distance if they are too far from you. Using Range weapons will make the boss fights feel like a walk in the park.

As i always say “The Best DPS is always a Range DPS”.

Any condi pve build?

in Revenant

Posted by: EdwinLi.1284

EdwinLi.1284

Condi Revenant is not bad, but in the current group setup is not as much valuable as a power one.
With that out of the way, a condi build is surely viable, especially in open world.

Even in this case i’d actually suggest an hibrid one since the defensive stats are just damage loss. So either Sinister’s or Viper’s gear or a mix.
Basically grab mace/axe + sword/ or hammer or staff depending on situation; Corruption, Devastation, Herald; Mallyx + Glint.
The key trait in corruption is diabolic inferno: try to keep it on cd activating the elite every 10s. Keep mobs in the firefield and add torment as you can. I may suggest as sigils geomancy and the condi damage one (can remember hte name atm), runes of scrapper.

Not much to add. I thought about a rabbid tank but i cannot comment on that atm ;-)

Well the accessory parts may be a bit troublesome to get since most of the Sinister’s Accessory is locked behind a achievement and Anet has yet to release Viper type Accessories.

Alternatively the Rabid accessories can be decent substitiute or Rampager if a person want to still have a strength, precision, and condition combo.

As of now the only group of living people in the Crystal Desert are mostly Priory teams excavating around the place while keeping a eye on Kraky’s actions which isn’t much currently other than holding his ground in the Crystal Desert until he fully recovered.

He also, somehow and without our or the biconics’ help, got the Iron Legion to make a formal agreement for assistance (the Pact assists against the Flame Legion, the Iron Legion sends troops and tanks – which makes their role in the World Summit a bit odd).

I think that is because it was just a personal favor that Trehearne called in why he manage to get those Iron Legion tanks into the fight against Zhaitan. Personal favors aren’t exactly known to be long term agreements nor long term supports after all so any support beyond that favor would require convensing the Leaders that it is worth to provide actual support of their Pact. With the Pact being young back then a lot higher members of society in each race would certainly have doubts back then to provide full support which is why the support the Pact got during Zhaitan Arc was more obtained by favors Trehearne had built up during his life.

Even though the Pact got Tanks into Orr the amount provided was a small amount compared to the much large amount the Iron Legion makes every day. Not to mention it was only one Iron Legion warband that was provided to handle the Tank squad. A full support would have provided more than one warband.

Keep in mind a Revenant legend has to be someone who has left a huge impression on the Mists through their actions. Each of our current legends have had a huge impact on a societal level. I don’t see Thackeray becoming one. Or Eir for that matter. I doubt we’ll be getting Vizu since we already have a Canthan assassin Legend.

Legends can take many forms but I don’t think their actions size is what matters but the actions they done to earn a place as Legends.
Mallyx, for example, had a role as a endgame boss being the final fight against the remaining Margonites but he never gone beyond the realm of torment to actually affect the world but just enough to be remembered for his actions.

[HoT SPOILER!!] Pact Leader

EdwinLi.1284

Either way it seems there may only be two options for the Pact’s fate…

1) A new leader is selected through the course of Season 3 (not instantly but the character must be built up to why he is chosen)

or

2) the Pact begins to slowly disband due to the disaster when the Pact Fleet was destroyed, the massive loss of members due to the fleet’s destruction, the Sylvari reveal to be Elder Dragon minions, and maybe even consideration of support being withdrawn due to the amount of people lost and how a Sylvari was the leader of the Pact.

A lot of the Pact’s best members was assigned to assault Mordremoth and the Pact has lost a lot of people due to the Fleet’s destruction. I would not be surprised if the Pact starts to fall apart slowly through season 3 as nations question if it is worth to put support into the Pact when they still continue to resolve their own internal issues and yet to insure their own nation’s security.

Tha Pact after all is just what its name implies, a Pact between organizations towards a common goal but if that is shaken and the organizations starts to stray from each other it may fall a part no matter how many members were not with the fleet when it was destroyed. The Pact can only hold if they choose to keep their Pact.

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

EdwinLi.1284

Isn’t there kind of a Vigil bias in the end though anyway? I mean, you don’t sneak into Zhaitan’s house while he’s sleeping and slit his throat. Or infiltrate the ranks of his minions. There are probably a few times you use Order of Whispers intelligence gathering throughout the whole thing and a few times you use ancient technologies, but on the whole (from what I remember) it all comes back to “taking the fight to Zhaitan.”

Plus one could argue that Trahearne is more of a scholar than anything, is biased in that regard, and the only reason he appears not to be is because the writers shoehorned him into the military leader role.

That part of the reason why Trehearne always went to you for the major assault planning operations during Zhaitan Arc. Despite being a scholar he knows all the plans has ups and downs and his own opinion is not enough which is why he let us choose how to handle the operations we got ourselves involved with despite the choices not affecting us except who we get to know more.

The Pact is more of a treaty between organizations after all so bias opinions is bound to happen during plans for many things which we see more in Silverwaste from the new recuited members of each race’s small support teams where we see their beliefs from their own organizations affecting their opinions on the Pact. It is due to how the Pact is more of a treaty rather than a actual military organization why a leader may be required to have open mind for other opinions beyond their own.

Oh, I don’t know. Trahearne’s the only bar that’s been set, and he had no military planning or political connections. The first, he picked up on the job, and the second he got by without for years, and then had the Tree and us cover that part for him.

I think the only real requirement for the post is being someone the leaders of each Order respect. While at the time of the PS relations between them were acrimonious to the point that the prospect of anyone with affiliations to one was thrown out without consideration, I’m optimistic that three years of fighting together may have led to certain officers earning that respect.

Despite Trehearnes lack of military skills he did have political connections which was developed through the course of his life as he explored the lands of Tyria before he appeared on Claw Island during Zhaitan Arc.

All Trehearne Political connections developed through his life as he helped different people against Zhaitan’s minions that often breakout into the lands before Zhaitan’s defeat. Trehearne did more than just study Zhaitan and his Undead minions but also help fight them to keep the corruption under control before the events of Claw Island.

So far the Pact Leader is required to be…

-Not part of a Order (so the public won’t find a reason the Pact favors “this Order”)
-Must not play favorite over a Order.
-Skilled in Military planning (a lot of military planning will be needed to fight a Elder Dragon)
-Skilled in Politics (obtaining political connections and support for the Pact to obtain necessary resources beyond the 3 Orders and support from the Races even if it means dealing with the bad part of politics.)

and most of all
-Try not to remove the Commander from the Pact because of “Reasons”. (As successful the Commander is with Zhaitan and Mordremoth I got this feeling the Pact Commander’s loyality may come into question no matter what Race he or she is.)

EdwinLi.1284

Trehearne personal issues and challenge to leadership was mostly done before GW2 story began which was hinted during the GW2 dialogue with how Trehearne had personal history with each Order. The issue here was more of Anet not showing more of this since the story shrugged off that part to short mentions rather than going into detail on why the three Orders tried to recuit Trehearne beyond his knowledge of Orr.

However, i don’t agree that the Pact Leader should be a military mind type of person since the Pact was more of a treaty between Organizations rather than a actual military.

We had the Vigil for the military aspect.

Whispers for the infiltration and espionage.

and

Priory for technology and ancient knowledge.

a military mind as a leader would end up supporting the Vigil’s methods more than the Whisper and Priory so the Pact Leader will have to be open minded when dealing with planning since part of the job of the Pact Leader is to deal with politics that will be required to convince other organizations to join this Pact against the Elder Dragons.

Logan and Rytlock sadly are not as open for the role as Pact Leader because even though they have military history they have shown to favor the Vigil methods more than the Priory and Whispers.

With trehearne now gone his replacement will need to be someone who can consider multiple aspects of a plan without personal past as a Military member, a spy, or scholar affect their judgement.

The new leader will also have to be good with politics since part of what gets the Pact the support they need beyond the 3 Orders is the Leader being able to make political connections to obtain the necessary support.

I thought Logan was the leader?

Destiny’s Edge was made up of two separate groups; Dragonspawn’s Destiny & Edge of Steel.

Eir formed Dragonspawn’s Destiny with Snaff, Zojja & their golems in order to defeat Jormag’s champion called Dragonspawn. They failed and Dragonspawn attacked Hoelbrak, leading to her exile from the Norn.

Meanwhile Logan, Rytlock & Caithe were prisoners in Lion’s Arch and were forced to fight gladiatorial styled battles to gain their freedom. They named their arena group Edge of Steel. Eir was searching for warriors strong enough to defeat Dragonspawn, and managed to free them. From there the two groups formed Destiny’s Edge.

Eir was the one who came up with their attack plans (in consultation with Snaff) and she’s the one who led them into battle everytime. It’s also why most of them resent her because she led them to defeat against Kralkatorrik.

I actually don’t know what Logan contributes other than muscle. But for some reason he does get centre stage in alot of the promo material for Destiny’s Edge.

Ya with Eir being the tactician it is suited that she was the leader. With Eir’s death I question what will become of Destiny’s Edge.

Logan I can’t call a leader since his role in the group was mostly being the frontline tank of the group.

Rytlock was the aggressive fighter of the group which wnet well with Logan’s defensive nature.

Caithe was the infiltrator member and she always has trust issues.

Zojja was the Engineer who provided the heavy muscle with her golem.

I say only the land because that is all we had long term exposure to during the times in the Mist. Also none of those events have been long term exposures but short term exposures. Rytlock appears to have been stuck in the Mists for days or maybe weeks, or maybe a month since there would have been a good amount of time Rytlock been gone between when he entered to mist to when the Pact began constructing their base in Silverwaste, without any moment outside of the Mist unlike our character who only spends time in the mist for a day or hours before returning to Tyria to rest up.

The Foggy body of the Mist is always in the distance and even when we jump into it we are not in it for long to the point we end up back in the open area that isn’t covered by the Fog.

Rytlock no doubt had land to walk on but I can only guess that the land he was on was covered by the Foggy body of the Mist.

However, as I said for now this is how I can only interpret how strong exposure happens unless Anet provides a detailed explanation on how a person becomes a Revenant which sadly I doubt they may not provide in a while due to how messy it may get if they don’t get Revenant’s lore right.

Not in the prologue instance. Which has them mentioning the fleet and all, alongside a lack of any real information.

That because the prologue is set after the Meta and Season 2.

The time frame isn’t what I call consistant in this game since the story often makes either small or large time skips of a unknown amount.

For Mordy Arc time frame the time skips are very small to the point each happen right after certain story event being form what I can put together…

Season 2 first halkittenilverwaste Meta Event -> Season 2 second half -> HoT Prologue
-> HoT -> Season 3.

We will most likely see how far the news about Sylvari being Dragon minions spread in Season 3 since the world beyond the Magumma Jungle is still set as Season 2 world. No doubt if Anet covers the Sylvari revealed to be Elder Dragon minions in Season 3 we may start seeing new NPC dialogues in Season 3 in certain areas similar to how Season 2 changed the world in certain areas as Season 2 progressed.

Fractals, Mist War anybody?

We are not making direct contact with the Mists in Fractal and Mist War but only the lands created by them. When I say direct exposure I mean actual contact with the Mist’s fog like body which characters in the game call the Mist. However, I don’t think making contact with the lands created by the Mist would count as exposure since the Mist itself seems to keep a distance from those lands it manifests.

Though the Mist has always been a mystery due to how strange it is. When we’re in Fractal and Mist War we never seem to make direct contact with the Mist but only contact with the lands that is created by the Mist. There is no doubt it may involved a certain type of exposure but until it is explained I think the exposure may be the Mist’s Fog Body and not the lands created by it.

EdwinLi.1284

You mean Caudecus, and how that has mostly been resolved or sidelined with him living with Jennah? That by itself isn’t nearly as major as it was. Early human storylines also deal with reducing that.

B: Where does that second part come from? I know some humans in Shaemoor have dialogue like “I think that dragon stuff is a rumor”, but the charr have the brand going through Ascalon.

The Arcane council has always been a collection of stubborn old kittens. I’ve not done the personal story for Asura yet, but Asura are being status quo, not really an issue with other races.

And the general public won’t know that kitten until later. Spread of information takes times, and the first waves of wounded from the jungle with ACTUAL news are ALSO the waves that know and were told to spread the information that some Sylvari are fine. Given length of HoT campaign (short), the death of the dragon may have happened before the news truly spread.

All of these are issues within a specific race, and some are dealt with. Only one you said actually involves issues “between races”.

When I said “between races” I mean the issues within the races themselves not political issues between the race’s relationships but that is my mistake for wording it that way.

As for the main questions on the issues each Race is facing….

Caudecus is still quite active despite being on watch now as we learned in Season 2. He still has nobles supporting his cause and eventhough we took care of one of them there are most likely others who support him.

You learn that the majority of the charr do not see the Elder Dragons as a threat in the Pact story Vigil path when Almorra explained about her son and how her son followed similar belief with how many members of the Legion never looked beyond the Charr.

You should do the asura story because it shows a much serious issue with the Asuran Council because they are going to extreme lengths to prevent the knowledge of Elder Dragons being a threat from spreading in Rata Sum to the point they would use their own special police to make people “disappear” or “assumed dead” if they tried to spread information about Elder Dragon’s being a threat. They’re also blocking news reports and any form of communication that is being used to spread the information along with bribing and blackmailing those people as well.

Last time I went through that spot in silverwastes, the only thing said was “There must be some new type of Mordrem, that’s the only thing that could’ve caused this.” Not a single pact member ever said anything about Sylvari being dragon minions to MY sylvari character, or anything about it to my human character.

Nothing really confirmed it ingame (for my two playthroughs of the prologue and torn from sky) until AFTER they got into the brink, at least as far as everybody else goes.

That mostly because Silverwaste is set to Pre-HoT time zone with the story of Silverwaste map meta as something happened before we went into the Maguuma Jungle.

Issues between the races? What do you mean?

The ONLY two races with ‘issues’ (talking major races purely) are Charr and Humans, and they are well on their way to a peace treaty, if that’s not already been mostly formalized!

The issues for each races have not been resolved and are just on hold. We have…

-Ministry vs the Throne (With the ministry still using the Bandits and sabotaging the Seraph)
-Struggle to keep the Human and Charr peace together
-Ascalonian ghost still plague the Charrs and certain amount of Charr still think it is pointless to put effort against the Elder Dragons becuase they don’t see them as a threat.
-Majority of the Asura Council still believe they are safe from the Elder Dragons and still attempt to hide any information from the Asuran Public.
-Sylvari are now revealed to be Elder Dragon minions which the public will most likely not take well to eventhough Mordy is dead because now this may lead to question all Sylvari’s actions.
-Norn are still suffering from Son of Svanir raids which all we did in Season 2 was slow them down so the Norn can provide some small Norn force into the Pact.

I’ve actually thought that would be a cool plot twist, having the PC die.
But I don’t think others would find it as interesting as me, and I don’t think it would work very well in the end. Although if they could make it work somehow, I think that would be great, personally.

depends on how long the PC is dead. If the commander does die next and comes back from the mist after that part of the story mission i would say 1 or 2 years would feel long enough for s*** to go down in tyria while not being long enough for the landscape to drastically change.

And when I mean s*** to go down I mean issues between the races to finally go full blown must resolve or else we will lose type of issue. As of now in the story the Race’s issues are on hold since season 2 focused on us giving the Races more time so they can put support into the Pact against Mordremoth but they are not resolved and the Pact has lost even more members due to the massive assault on Mordremoth since they put most of their best in assaulting Mordremoth as we see when exploring the Maguuma Jungle meeting a lot of the Pact’s skilled members that the Commander recuited back in Zhaitan Arc.

A ranged condi weapon is -BADLY- needed. I think the easiest thing would be to add 600 range to the mace. If after all projects a damage field, let it hit along the full part of it.

Condition damage Longbow attacks with Keiran Thackery as the Elite Legend :p

On that note:
Keiran Thackery as the Elite Spec Legend that provide a Condition Damage Long bow would fit since back in GW1 when we played as him he used condition damage for most of his damage with his bow attacks

Though I can’t help but feel that if Keiran became a Elite Spec he would provide Shout abilities to Revy since his character was also a shout support character with him focused more on being in the back while providing buffs to his allies and debuffing his enemies so his allies and himself can do more damage to them.

Anet can also use Keiran’s unique mechanic “Marked” as his Elite Spec special ability. either as something that makes the Marked enemy take more damage from all sources or focus more on taking more damage from the Player him or her self. This would make Marked as a focused fire mechanic for the player.

That way Anet can kill 2 ED with one story and stop making them sound like they’re just waiting for some mysterious event to happen just to kick them in the butt to become a active threat.

A interesting to take notice of as the story progress with each Elder Dragon’s death. As each one dies more magic is returned into Tyria and with it the awakening of powerful ancient magical creatures that has remained dormant for centuries such as Gorseval.

Not to mention back in Season 2 we learned that the Elder Dragons are part of the World’s function/cycle but what would happen if we remove the Elder Dragon’s from that cycle. I think we are getting a glimps to what will happen to the GW world as we kill each Elder Dragon from Spirit Vale

I can guess either being Devona or Kilroy Stonekin for the Legend since two-handed sword did not exist in GW1 but these two characters would fit into the Greatsword theme.

Devona fits well into Greatsword since she was the head in first character in GW1.

However, I really hoping for Kilroy Stonekin because he is a character that would go very well with Greatsword due to his “KIIIIIIIILLLRRRROOOOYYYYY STOOOOOOOOOOONEEKIIIIIN!!” nature.

I’d love to see Pyre Fierceshot come back as a legend. He was hands down my favourite character in GW1, just because of how witty he was. His humour is a lot like mine.

We also need a legend that can output Ranged DPS on-par with legends like Shiro and Glint, because currently, everyone can unanimously agree that Melee is the only way for DPS. Considering Pyre was a ruthless archer, he fits the bill in my opinion.

I actually see Pyre more of a Legend for Shortbow since his character didn’t give off the sniper type of character in GWEotN which is why I chosen Keiran over Pyre for Longbow Legend. Keiran was more of a Longbow Sniper character in EotN for the short amount of time we got to play as him. Pyre for me was mostly that guy who would shoot you pointblank before you knew he had put a arrow in your head type of character and he does that quite well in one of the EotN cutscenes.

Which weapon you want next?

Miku? Lol wut? Pretty sure you meant Nika.

http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Miku

Miku was a assassin in GW Faction Epilogue Winds of Change and a side character who aided Keiran to become the leader he would be known in GW history.

Her little brother Ashu is the one who took control of the Ministry of Purity in Cantha and lead them into what forming the Cantha we know in GW2 and it was her aunt Reiko who created the Ministry of Purity serving as the antagonist of Wind of Change before the GW1 hero and Miku defeated her with the aid of Eri of the Jade Brotherhood, Daisuke of the Am Fah, Xin Ji and canthan citizens, and Soar honorclaw and the Tengus, and Zei Ri.

Nika is already a Stronghold Hero so I doubt she would be used which is why I chosen Vizu to replace Nika.

Still a long way from the 2nd set of elite specialization but what would you like to see as the next Elite Spec weapon and what Legend do you think may represent it?

For me I’m going for dagger off-hand or longbow.

dagger off-hand legend being Vizu or Miku.
If it is Vizu it would be interesting if she has some small unique dialogues for having Shiro as your 2nd active Legend.

Longbow legend being Aidan or Keiran Thackeray.
Keiran Thackery may be a bit interesting choice since we know Aidan as a Ranger but Keiran had some unique things going for him in GW1 when we played as him with his own set of unique skills for his bow attacks before he switched to spear and shield being…

Gravestone Marker – his knockback/distance from enemy attack.
Terminal Velocity – his inturrupt/condition attack
Rain of Arrows – his Range AoE attack.
Relentless Assault – condition clense/Posion condition attack.
Nature’s Blessing – his healing skill that also clense conditions.
Sniper Shot- Keiran’s Ultimate attack that does large amount of damage while also inflicting bleed (perfect for the skill 5 longbow skill.)

[SPOILER] Mordremoth's body

in Lore

EdwinLi.1284

Well the best way I can describe things is that Mordy’s body is basically on Auto-pilot now that the pilot, Mordremoth’s mind, is gone.

From what we are told in the main story mordremoth’s true form is his mind and he does not have a actual physical form. Think of Mordy as more of a Spirit rather than a actual physical being. Mordy may have possessed the Mouth of Mordremoth as a body but it was nothing more than a physical host for him to interact with the physical world.

This also comes into why Mordy would still be alive as long he can obtain a physical host when he tried to take over Trehearne’s body. Sending his mind into the weakened state may have forced him out of the Mouth of Mordremoth due to may be not being able to control it in his current weakened state and forced him into a weaker host being Trehearne. However, since Trehearne died with what remained of Mordremoth’s actual self he is dead for good.

EdwinLi.1284

I see we are in one of those situations where we will have a hard time getting a point between each other so I’ll make one final comment….

It will also depend on the type of military they are from. In the military people who retire from active service keep their rank. A retired General will always be considered a General in the military even though he has retired from his position within that organization.

Since Francis did not join one of the Orders he did not transcend into the Order’s Rank system so his Rank is identified by his last known organization being the Seraph.

The Pact it self is not what we can call a individual organization but more of a contract between different organizations to fight against a common enemy. Think of the Pact as the United Nation of GW2.

EdwinLi.1284

Some interesting I noticed after you killed Mordremoth is that if you talk to Laranthir during the event to defeat the Mouth of Mordremoth a new dialogue will appear and he will tell us that even though Mordremoth is dead his body still remains active to continue his hunger for magic.

Either being a dialogue to explain why we are fighting the Mouth of Mordremoth after his death or intentional to explain why the event constantly repeats itself this comes into question is how much dangerous Mordy’s body is since it still continues to live and attempt to consume magic even after Mordremoth is dead due to being a manifestation of Mordremoth’s Hunger.

Like I said their rank title comes from their organization not from their position in the Pact. Beirnes is no longer Corpral Beirness because he is a member of the Vigil during the Zhaitan Arc.

During the Zhaitan Arc the only military support the Pact had was from the Orders which during that time the members could only become involved with the battle against Elder Dragons by joining one of the three Orders which each of them did thus giving them the rank of the Order they joined. By joining the order their rank is changed to the Order’s Ranking system.

During Mordremoth Arc the pact has expanded beyond the 3 Orders and is now obtaining recuits from outside the Orders. So members no longer have to join one of the three Orders to become officially part of the Pact thus why they can keep their former military rank since outside the duty of the Pact they are not part of the Orders.

That because the Pact allows the members to maintain their rank from the organization they come from. The Pact only place their own rank on members as a separate rank to identify their position in the Pact.

We see this a lot with the Order members in the Pact as they keep their Rank in their Order and their promotion within their order still handled by the Order they are from. For example, if you’re a Priory member some members within the Priory still call you as Magister in their dialogue rather than commander mostly by Priory members who are not part of the Pact.

EdwinLi.1284

Well a lot of things are holding each Race’s nation from joining the fight against the Elder Dragons. While the small amount of aid we obtained in Mordremoth Arc showed some support we also still see that there are still a lot of internal issues for each race.

Most of the internal issues are mostly from people who thinks the Elder Dragons are not a threat or that the Elder Dragons will never breach their capital city defenses.

Asura issue for not joining is that the Asuran Council strongly believe that they are perfectly safe in their City and are working hard to prevent the information that the Elder Dragons are a threat from spreading in Asuran society.

Norn are still constantly being threatened by Jormag so they are losing people everyday.

Charr has the Ascalonian ghost to deal with and also a good amount of Charr believe that the Elder Dragons are not a threat as was mentioned in the Order Arc if players went Vigil.

Humans are still at a constant internal conflict between the Ministry and the throne. The Ministry want to sieze power but if they gain that power we will lose all human support to fight the Elder Dragons as mentioned in the Pact arc if players went Order of Whisper since they do not believe the Elder Dragons are a threat.

Sylvari are currently the smallest and youngest race of Tyria and are still building their place into Tyria’s society. There situation is now worse that the word is out that the Sylvari are Elder Dragon minions. Even though Mordy is dead I fear this revelation will cause a major trust issue with the Sylvari race since their loyality may come into question though the new story arc in Season 3.

Weapon combo for Revy?

in Revenant

EdwinLi.1284

So which combo should I go with sword main hand?

Sword/sword or sword/shield

Though once a new Spec for Revy is released in the future that is more to my liking I’ll certainly have to swap out shield for the new off-hand weapon or what ever new weapon it gives out.

EdwinLi.1284

I know this post is a month old but it seems better to just continue this thread instead of creating a new same thread….

back on topic:

I’m a bit concerned how Anet will handle the story from here on. Our character is not really Organization Leader Material when you look at how his or her life as a Adventurer is top priority for their life over everything else.

Also, as Kalavier mentioned, our Hero has never been the leader of a major organization in the GW storyline until now and was more of a Black Op Unit leader only leading a small group of highly skilled Players/NPCs to handle tasks far too dangerous and/or too risky that normal NPCs could not do. Not to mention our character freedom to be adventurers is due to not being a leader of a major organization which has been the lore reason why our character can do what he or she does from fractals, dungeons, exploration, and etc.

I am worried how they will handle the “Our character is leader of the Pact” plot now since the whole HoT plot felt like it was made to satisfy the “I want Trehearne dead and my character to be the Pact Leader” crowd which, I know this may offend these type of people, was a very bad idea because our character isn’t really Organization Leader material but more of a “Small band of Hero” leader material which fits our character better due to the things our character constantly get him or herself into.

How do I become a Revenant?

in Lore

Posted by: EdwinLi.1284

EdwinLi.1284

I’m curious on how our character became a Revenant since so far the only way i know a Revenant gain their power is through strong exposure to the mist or strong link to the mist.

So far we have no place that would expose anyone to the mist directly in GW2 except for the Mist itself which Rytlock entered and got himself exposed to it long enough to develop his powers.

I hope in later part of the story we can explain how our own character obtained his Revy powers even if it is a small amount of dialogue.

EdwinLi.1284

So…

1) The pact is gone/destroyed/disbanded.

2) Trehearne is dead.

3) We have Caladbolg no or what remains of it.

4) Mordremoth is dead.

5) and we just had another Season 2 ending but this time the Ley line energy goes right into Glint’s egg.

What now because they might as well just put a “to be continued.” at the ending scene.

no need for gift of exploration.

However, you will need to max your mastery to obtain access to the shops for getting the new legendary parts.

As Terra said you can basically buy all the Legendary parts from TP.

Only thing players most likely can’t obtain from other players is the parts from finishing the Mastery which may require the Mastery shops and map tokens.

The only thing that worries me is this:
“For this gift, your dedication to the game will be tested: you’ll need materials that can only be acquired after completing all of the Heart of Maguuma Masteries, map completion of the expansion zones, and a lot of each of the map-specific currencies.”

This will take me like for ever.

that is assuming you spend the tokens on other things beyond the legendary components.

Players may be able to speed things up with exp boosts as well.

If i read correctly, you will also be required to participate in PvP to acquire the Gift of the Mists?

This game is officially becoming, “Play the game the way WE want you to play.”

You can also buy the items from BL market if players put them on sale.

You only need to play PvP if you want to get them without spending gold on other players.

From what they say a good amount can be obtained by buying it from other players except for the Mastery Track parts.

Q : inventions against alchemy

in Engineer

Posted by: EdwinLi.1284

EdwinLi.1284

Well here is a list of things about alchemy tree….

1) All Alchemy potions will clense 1 condition now even the toss potion skills which means each potion can clense 2 conditions (1 clense for drinking the potion and 1 clense for tossing a potion)

2) Elixir gun’s Super Elixir can turn all conditions you have into boons instead.

3) With HGH you can stack might more easily and extend Elixir gun’s Super Elixir field duration to clense even more conditions.

4) Every 15 seconds a condition you take is turned into a Boon instead which means every 15 seconds you have a free passive condition clense.
