I have a long list from a old post of mine with some concept idea for the Weapon Elite spec…
The one I find interested in the most was the
Focus Off-hand Weapon Elite Spec can be the focus of a Energy Core mechanic where it use a charge mechanic players can choose to build up for their skills to perform a much larger damage. This Elite Spec focus on introducing Energy Weapon type Kits such as Ray Gun kit, Railgun Kit, and/or Plasma Gun Kit with a addition mechanic to change Pistol weapon skills and Rifle Weapon Skills into Energy base theme skills unique to this elite spec. The More you build up charge the More powerful your skills will be but spam your skills too much will weaken the weapons damage output thus making this a Energy management type Elite Spec.
and
the Greatsword, aka two-handed sword, as the DPS Melee Condition Damage Elite Spec that focus on a Heat mechanic which increase the damage the higher the Heat generated but keep it too high too long risk causing the weapon to Overheat thus risking taking damage from Overheating your weapon. A High Risk but High Reward type of Elite Spec.
I’ve been thinking lately that Focus off-hand can also be a good Elite Spec for Engineer as the next one as well.
Focus Weapon can be the focus of a Energy Core mechanic where it use a charge mechanic players can choose to build up for their skills to perform a much larger damage.
It can work as a Kit type Elite Spec that focus on Energy type weapons such as a Railgun Kit, Laser Gun Kit, and Plasma Gun Kit. While Healing skill can be a type of self Healing Ray.
One of the special addition this Elite Spec can add beyond the Core Charge Mechanic and the Energy Weapon Kits is the ability to change the Main Hand Pistol Skills into Energy based Skills focus on long range.
The Base 1 Skill, aka auto attack skill, can provide 1 Core Charge per attack for the Pistol and Kit weapons.
A little extra animation to the Focus Engineer Elite Spec would be that when you equip any Energy Weapon kits that you can see the Focus attached to the Engineer’s belt/waist.
Lore wise this can be a Elite Spec created by the Asura due to how Energy Weapon happy this Race is known to be.

Wow didn’t expect this to be blasted from the past.
On that note….
Scrapper have us a second 2H option in Hammer, and we have OH Pistol and Shield. We’re missing a 1H melee, power based option. Mace is the obvious choice for that (especially with the wrench skin), but Axe and Dagger could also fit in.
Torch would be a decent option thematically, but we aren’t lacking in burning, and it would still leave is with just Pistol.
I still think Greatsword, aka two-handed sword, is a good choice for a melee condition damage DPS focus type elite spec for Engineer.
It could theme around a heat mod that the engineer attached to the Greatsword similar to how the Hammer has a Rocket Mod attached to the hammer for the Scrapper to create the force needed to perform the hammer’s damage and actions.
The Greatsword Elite Spec can even use a heat generation mechanic that focus on increasing the “Heat” mechanic for more damage while also using that “Heat” as a type of energy for the Greatsword Elite Spec skills. It is a risk/high reward thing where the Engineer can choose to keep saving Heat so his attacks can perform high damage or just spam all skills and use up all the Heat to perform their high damage skills but using up all the heat reduces their DPS due to the loss of the Heat no longer being high for that large damage buff.
For utility maybe focus on Wrist Launcher skills themed around the Heat Mechanic. One Utility skill could be a cone AoE flamethrower skill for that close range mob burn attack (while being used for building up heat) and another could focus on launching a Fire grenade.
I would give it a name but some reason I can only think of calling the Greatsword Elite Spec “Steel Dragon” and have the lore being a Cantha themed Elite Spec.
(edited by EdwinLi.1284)
But, I have the disadvantage of not playing GW1 to know who his race is.
Well to sum Mursaats…
1) The were found by Saul D’Alessio when he Saul was outcated from kryta for his bad habits.
2) Saul believed the Mursaat to be Gods and they took advantage of that to manipulate him into creating the White Mantle.
3) After Saul pushed back the Char invasion with the help of 3 Mursaat being Lazarus, Mercia, and Optimus.
4) After the Victory over the Charr Lazarus, Mercia, and Optimus killed all White Mantle who did not believe they were Gods and took Saul away to keep him silent and to prevent the “Believers” from doubting them as Gods.
5) For years they manipulated the White Mantle into sacrificing people, by tricking those people into believing they were Chosen for something Great, with High Magic energy on the Bloodstone to power it which they use the Eye of Janthir to identify which lead to the death of generations of innocent people being killed. All to prevent the Flame Seeker Prophecy from happen which told about their race extinction.

I like this also, even more because a lot of professions out there are going to run out of weapons sometime.
But Rifle is already a shotgun type (hip-shot and blunderbuss), so would be nice to get it as a 1500 range sniper weapon.
Also, I’d like to see more kits!
Felt more like a modified Rifle than a actual shotgun. I was think it changing into something similar to the Scrap Rifle minus the overheat and blow up in your face effect the Scrap Rifle has.
Another thing that would be interesting for a future Elite Spec for Engineer, or any Profession for that matter, would be a Elite Spec that not only introduce a new weapon to use but allow players to change the weapon skill as well into a new set of weapon skills.
Take Rifle for example with a future elite spec that introduce a new weapon but it also adds a new set of weapon skills for rifle focusing more on becoming a shotgun type weapon.
This actually goes back to Magic being like Light. What we see as the Red Leyline is actually the Fire aspect magic of the Leyline Magic energy.
We know a lot of Magical energy is moving South into the Unending Ocean location for some reason but that may be a hint to what is soon to arrive.
We need a fast paced, direct dmg, melee spec with a MH weapon to go with shield and OH pistol.
I’d say Sword for a mobile melee spec. Sword seems to be the go-to for mobility fast strikes and evasion.
A vibrating sword that removes boons or a energy/plasma sword could be a good engi version of it. With utilities that are like cyborg adaptations working like signets (a passive bonus with an overcharge skill)
Energy/plasma swords would be a nice mobile onehanded weapon for a elite spec. I am curious what kind of utility skill they may use though.
Elite Spec Utility also follows the Elite Spec Weapon theme in some way after all.
Another thought on Greatsword I have would be a Mechanical Sword type design. Would fit into a Signet theme Elite Spec involving Modifications for enhancing the Engineer’s physical abilities.
So no one else can think up ways to Engineerfy Weapons?

A guildie of mine noticed that the head shape is the same as that of the Mouth of Mordremoth. If you look in profile I think she’s right. So that explosion of energy from Mordy’s death that hit the egg might have affected the hatched appearance?
Was just coming to denote the same thing. Nose and especially jaw has some similarities to Mordremoth (both avatar and physical body (mouth of mordremoth)). The skin on the head also looks a bit barky, as I mentioned above, rather than scales or crystal.
Makes you curious how the other Elder Dragons are affected.
We now know each Elder Dragon can absorb the powers of a dead Elder Dragon due to absorbing their “Element” of Magical Energy. This results in not only giving the Elder Dragon’s new powers related to that Dead Elder Dragon’s power but also changes the the form and abilities of their minions.
First of all, it has crystals because of glint. BUT, it also looks a lot like mordrem-esque skin because of the power it absorbed at the end of HoT! the rest is adorable.
Ya from what we learned in Episode 2 it is a effect of absorbing another Elder Dragon’s power.
Last we saw him, he swore endless suffering on countless generations because we messed with his ability to use magic.
Does that seem like a guy who’d turn over a new leaf? Not to me.
And if he does… -sigh-
meh who can really know what goes on the head of a person who spent over 250 years doing nothing but thinking about his life and where it went wrong while stuck in a giant magical brick.
MAJOR SPOILER WARNING THIS TIME! Beyond this line is a MAJOR SPOILERS discussion!!!!!
So that was unexpect event at the end of episode 2.
I still do not trsut Lazarus after all he has done for generations and the amount of people he has help kill over greed for being a “high race”
Still i would be greatly surprised if Lazarus does end up turning out to have turned good.
What do you guy’s think? Is Lazarus still predictably evil in secret and only using the Commander or has he really learned what his Race has done is wrong and actually want to atone for his and his entire Race mistake.
Maybe he created a clone of himself. You know how Asura are.
Last spoiler warning. Beyond this line is a SPOILER Discussion!
So now we learn Jormag is active as well with Primordus.
Along with information that a lot of magical energy is heading South into the Unending Ocean areas.
The entire Elder Dragon Awakening Cycle is also now completely destroyed due to the sudden burst of Magical energy from Mordy’s death into the world.
Looks like a all out Elder Dragon War is about to begin in my opinion.
I did lof, though I’m sorry I did. Jormag obstinately killing everyone wouldn’t have been more obvious than this “joke”
Bet Jormag’s expansion is going to be called Guild Wars 2 I.C.E.
Ice Cream Election.
:p
Hot is heart of thorns. The next arc can’t also be hot. We have to call it something else. Like LoF. Lungs of Flame. That’ll work.
I expect fire breathing dragons.
Well the things are just going to get Hotter as Primy gets closer to full awakening. So it is not Heart of thorns any more but Hot.
1. He’s already fully awake.
2. Calling the entire story arc “hot” because you expect the temperature to increase is incredibly unimaginative.
Looks like someone does not get the joke.
Why so serious when the name Guild Wars 2 Hot is a joke name and reference to how Season 3 is heading to Primordus which he is themed as the Elder Dragon of Fire and Fire is Hot. When you shorten the name “Heart of Thorns” into just the first letters of each word then it will spell the word “Hot” which is where the Joke name comes from.
it is like how people use to joke about Guild Wars Eye of the North when they called it GWEN which reference to Gwen returning in GWEN.
(H)eart (O)f (T)horns (T)he (E)nemy®ises?
Or TEPID? (The Emerging Primorus Incursion Dilemma)
Or event WARM? (War Against Revived Mursaat)
This guy gets the joke.

Well the things are just going to get Hotter as Primy gets closer to full awakening. So it is not Heart of thorns any more but Hot.
I say my Human Engineer is just fine considering most campaigns against Elder Dragons involves a lot of technology created to survive and fight against the Elder Dragons. Even in Heart of thorns survivors had to become creative with their engineering skills to create outposts and hold down locations in a enemy territory.
I remember that Anet said they are trying to find a way to make Season 1 storyline instanced for players that miss the chance to experience it.
So now we are over with Guild Wars 2 Heart of Thorn and now truely begins the next Elder Dragon Arc (let us call it Hot Arc) in episode 2.
What do you expect from Guild Wars 2 Hot and the future episode of the Hot Arc?
So how do you think the future Elite Spec Weapons may be Engineerfied to suit Engineers?
Current examples we have now is how Pistol use modified ammo (elemental ammos), Rifle is modified to shoot different types of things, shield is modified with a electric field generator in it, and Hammer is given a Rocket Modification.
I can see either long bow or short bow getting special modified arrows adding the focus on using Engineer knowledge for survival type of Elite Spec, mace is modified with electric mod for electric mace (aka stun baton) for a elite spec focus on electricity and Greatsword adjusted with a Heat Mod for the Greatsword to serve as a melee condition Burn Elite Spec.
Yep I was right. Ley Line Gliding is going to be a very important Gliding Perk from here on as more magic is released into the world so will more Ley Line energy for us to use when gliding.
So are you ready for the Ring of Fire?!
It is a lot earlier than people expected but hey we can go to the Ring of Fire soon.
Now Queue the Ring of Fire music while we wait!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=It7107ELQvY
I would love to see the Glacial Blade as a future Gemstore Weapon skin for both one-handed and Two-handed sword. It is such a well designed weapon even for GW1 time to let this skin go to waste in only GW1.
Would like to see the Elite Templar armor set
I would like the Glacial Blade.
Both one-handed and two-handed sword version
We have “pokemon” from the Egg so we will win every war.
Pact lost the war with Mordremoth, but our hope is the race of Asura.
They will discover Primordus’s weakness.
But Primordus is not the biggest danger…
Kryta is in danger, Lazarus came back…
We could lose wars but our last hope is the dragon from the Egg…
If he won’t be our allie, Tyria will be like Orr or Blazeridge Steppes.
“But this end was just beginning”… The war against Mordy was big disaster.
We have to prepare, if Kryta will lose, Tyria won’t be safe.
Lazarus has no interests in Kryta anymore as he stated at the end of episode one. He is after something much much bigger that makes Kryta “inconsequential”.
What that thing is well we just have to wait and find out later.
Well it was more of the unexpected amount of Magic being released into the world than Mordy’s death itself.
When the Commander and Destiny Edge killed Zhaitan, he did not unleash such a massive surge of magic into the world at once like Mordy did.
Though of course this surge of magic has caused Pimy to finally go active now in Season 3 right in the middle of all the Races, Pact, and the newly formed Dragon’s Watch still picking up the pieces left after the events of the Mordy Campaign.
I don’t think E is a White Mantle as well.
From the Journey in Bloodstone Fen it seems the White Mantle was never expecting the Pact to even begin moving towards the Maguuma Jungle at all. Not to mention it looked like they were unaware about Mordy’s activity accross Tyria and him even being in Maguuma Jungle until the Pact fleet arrived.
In the Apprentice Journal the unexpected death of Mordy cause the explosion to happen earlier than planned. The other two Journal was expecting the Bloodstone to explode but the sudden surge of Magic into the world accelorated events faster than anticipated resulting in Lazarus rewakening earlier and the Bloodstone exploding earlier.
E is certainly someone with knowledge but it doesn’t seem to point to him, her, or they being White Mantle. However, with events unfolding now in Season 3 I am guess we may finally learn E’s identity or identities in Season 3 as part of a later episode.
So my theory has been that the Elder Dragons were just six individuals among many natural magic-consuming races (not dissimilar to the Chak) who grew ambitious and power hungry and betrayed their races and began consuming far more magic.
The best guess I have as well considering what we are seeing so far of the early stages for the Bloodstone Magic addiction on the infected in Bloodstone Fen.
Though I do wonder if there was one odd member who did not become a Elder Dragon and rejected that power before the Elder Dragons became Elder Dragons.
Speaking of Odd members it has been a while since we last heard from E and it seems everytime E sends us a letter it involves leading us to a Elder Dragon or someone corrupted by a Elder Dragon.
E has gone quite silent ever since Mordy’s death and yet E tends to put a lot of faith by sending the Commander and Dragon’s Watch to killing a Elder Dragon or their minions.
(edited by EdwinLi.1284)
I could see this magical concentration in Bloodstone Fen becoming dangerous to health, like nuclear radiation, perhaps as the region settles (assuming that it may), and perhaps the ability to survive in such environments. Otherwise I’m not sure, perhaps the ability to use Mursaat, Forgotten or other ancient magics? There’s a lot of possibilities.
That would be a interesting Mastery for Ancient Magic tree with a future Mastery giving our characters new skills relating to Mursaat, Forgotten, and Seer Magic.
Imagine our character learning the secret to use Spectual Agony as a skill through one of the Mastery due to gaining the knowledge of Mursaat’s Ancient Magics.
WARNING: Spoilers ahead beyond this line.
So now we have a new Mastery tree for Season 3 that most likely may be expanded each episode.
First Mastery skill is Counter Magic which is Zinn’s Counter Magic he gave out to to GW1 Hero’s allies so they can counter the Spectual Agony effects.
What kind of mastery abilities do you think may later appear in Ancient Magic?
My guess is that the future Ancient Magic Masteries may focus more on GW1 aspects for the abilities.
We also have to remember how the Elder Dragon’s act due to their mindset.
Each one of these Elder Dragons have some kind of God Complex due to being so powerful from all the magic they consumed with their own vision on what their Ideal World should be. While they kept the balance of Magic in the past through consuming and then releasing it once they enter a Food coma… I mean fall a sleep, I don’t think they actual expect to enter that state of slumber each awakening.
It seems the reality is that each Elder Dragon want to rule the world and the “balance” they had was just a side effect due to their constant stuggle with each other to become the God of this world. A conflict they have been at a stalemate for countless centuries until now.
For each one we meet they have the goal of consuming all magic and ruling this world by shaping it into their ideal world.
For Zhaitan it was a world where people have defied and embraced death itself by becoming undead and he believed he was Death itself.
Mordy wanted a world where it was all nature and even the creatures are born from nature and he believed himself to be the World itself.
As much as it would be dangerous to see a connection here between the Elder Dragon’s way of think and the corrupted Bloodstone people. I can’t help but see a type of connection as if they are hinting on a piece of how the Elder Dragons came to be.
If so the questions remains what caused the Elder Dragons to start absorbing so much magic that made them into their magic hungry and God complex Elder Dragon self all those centuries ago? Also were they always Elder Dragons since even the Bloodstone corrupted began to change in physical forms?
(edited by EdwinLi.1284)
Anyone else notice how Magic Hungry the corrupted people are when they became powered by the Bloodstone?
makes me wonder if that is how each Elder Dragon started out similar to them being that originally these “Elder Dragons” originally never had hunger for Magical energy until some how they became exposed to a large amount of magic that made them so powerful that they just began to develop a hunger for magic.
The minds of the corrupted also began to deteriorate slowly the more hungry they became to the point all they care about how powerful and hungry they are for that magical power.
As for Primy, his sudden movement may have something to do with the Leylines all over Tyria popping up. These pre-S3 events were hints to what is to come in Season 3. Maybe the sudden shift in Magical energy within the Leyline, now that Mordy is dead and no longer feeding off of it, has attracted Primy due to how the Leyline is mostly underground. The Ring of Fire is a location with a Volcano big enough from underground for Primy to reach the surface world so it is possible the place may be used as Primy’s enterance and final battle location as it would be a good place for Primy to use as a base and create more Destroyers on the surface.

Last SPOILER WARNING! Turn away if you did not complete the 1st episode of Season 3. Once your eyes cross this line there is no turning back from the spoilers. Unless you want to be spoiled.
You have been SPOILER warned!
————————————————————————————————————————————————————-
So a lot of things happened all at once in this episode.
The pact is now searching for a new leader and the Commander declined since the New Leader will not be allowed to be in the field and will be commanding Pact activity behind a desk in Lion Arch.
Cadacus reveals himself to be the Leader of the White Mantle this entire time.
Lazarus the Dire has returned fully powered by the entire Bloodstone in Bloodstone Fen.
The White Mantle is split between those loyal to Cadacus and those loyal to Lazarus.
Primordus is now active and soon will begin his assault on the surface world.
Canach and Marjory got new outfits with Canach’s new outfit being sold first in the Cash Shop. The others may get new outfits as well.
New Mastery path being “Ancient magic” focus stuff.
With all this how do you think all this will play out lore wise.
For me I think this may end with a 3 way final battle between White Mantle (Lazarus) vs Primordus vs Dragon’s Edge (and the Pact)
(edited by EdwinLi.1284)
You make it sound like non-humans are incapable of Ascending, but there’s no real indication of this, despite Ascension being a part of human history rather than other races’
Ya if i remember right Ascension can be done by anyone as long they can meet the requirements. They don’t have to worship the Human Gods to meet one of the requirements, just make enough noise for them to have their attention on the person Ascending which was how one of the Trials worked by basically using a Ritual to grab the attention of the Human Gods.
However, it still would be nice to have Unique Dialogue for the Human race due to their History with the Human Gods while events still play out mostly the same but with the same ending for the other races just not with the small bits of “Human” events.
(edited by EdwinLi.1284)
During LW2 The pact where gearing up to head in to the CD, until Mordi woke up.
So my thinking is, we will most likely head there with 1/2 maps like in LW2 as a build up for the next Xpac that will be set there. but I can also see Anet leaving him till last as sort of a end to the story of DE and the game, as far as dragons go anyway.
Not a surprise the Pact was originally going after Kralky before Mordy showed up and became a huge threat.
Kralky was currently the only Elder Dragon that the Pact knew where exactly he was located and open to attack while the info on the other Elder Dragons only had where their territory are but no info on where they were located within that territory.
The slight problem with heroes undergoing Ascension is that we have no idea if there is anything left down there to tell us where to bloody start.
Not to mention the fact Kralkatorrik will literally be looming right to the north, in case he wants to come down and bash our heads in for thinking we can stop him. It’ll be an interesting bit of story to say the least, whenever we go down there.Oh, and lets not forget the Old Seer, in case Lazarus decides to bring back our favorite ability, Spectral Agony. For those who dont know what Spectral Agony, imagine trying to fight a perma-stealth Condi thief, who can spam the condi bomb.
The priory has already established a good amount of bases in the Crystal Desert even before the Pact we formed as it was mentioned by NPCs. They have been researching the Crystal Desert and ruins in the area along with keeping a eye on Kralky for a long time now. If any info is left there then no doubt the Priory in the Crystal Desert will have the infomation we need by now.
Along with a group of Order of Whispers keeping a eye on Joko’s activity to the South area of the Crystal Desert.
(edited by EdwinLi.1284)
You have the basics already so it is fine.
On Topic:
Going North for now seems to be how Season 3 focus starts out since North is where majority of the White Mantle activiting in the Maguuma Jungle is located.
Probably keep moving North until the story requires the Commander to back track into the Crystal Desert after learning he or she can’t fight Lazarus the Dire.
My best guess is that we may see Crystal Desert Map areas as the pre-final new Maps for Season 3 so they can release 1 or 2 Crsytal Desert map area, 1 or 2 area per update, for the 4 Trials required to allow the Commander to Ascend so he or she can finally fight Lazarus the Dire at the end of Season 3. Then we begin moving towards the final North Map after Crystal Desert Map into the Map where Lazarus the Dire awaits the Commander for the Final Battle.
Then after Lazarus the Dire’s defeat we get a glimps at Kralkatorrik finally ready to move and a big “To Be Continued!” scene for the 2nd Expansion.
(edited by EdwinLi.1284)
So part 3 of Taimi’s log reports that she has found also a large amount of data about the Crystal Desert and the Creatures in the Crystal Desert.
What kind of Lore do you guys think is in that data and do you think it foreshadow CD area maps as part of S3 updates?
So was Tybalt’s one self sacrificing heroic action really enough for him to be considered a Legend in the Mist for him to become a Stronghold Hero?
So who ready for some Apples?
For those behind the new Stronghold hero that is arriving in the next update is Tybalt.
He will drop applies that serve as healing packs as one of his skills.
@Konig Des Todes
Lily is not talking about all writing of history of Tyria being false Konig but that the History we know about the origins of Humans may have been distorted by Historians.
Do not forget the words of the Priory “History never lies but Historians however do.”
We know the history of Humans may be from another world and the place they started is far south to a place we have not seen yet but those History are writing by Historians. How much of that History is true we will never know but we can’t really take anything with 100% certainty afterall, for example, during GW1 the White Mantle recorded the Mursaat as gods but they were actually a ancient race of Tyria.
However, I’d still place bets on either Laranthir or the PC to become leader. Presuming the Pact doesn’t simply fall apart.
I still doubt the commander would be chosen to be the Pact leader because it would put too much responsibility over the Commander that lore wise would reduce the amount of time he or she would have to go adventuring.
The only reason why our character had the freedom to do the things they can do from dungeoning, fractal, raids, exploring the world, and etc was because he or she didn’t have to take on the full responsibility for being the leader of the Pact which would have greatly restricted him or her to Pact base and Pact operations only.
What will happen to the Sylvari race now that news about them being Elder Dragon minions is out.
Even with Mordremoth’s death in both body and mind during the Season 3 timeframe there may be back lash to the Sylvari’s race and their actions through GW2 storyline. We have seen some tension already with mysterious murders happening in Lion Arch and other place with only Sylvari being murdered.
I must have missed that…it can work i guess, even if it still misses the legendary vibe
By GW1 lore standard Kuunavang is considered Legendary standard since she was the Glint of Faction storyline. While not as big influence as Glint due to Kuunavang’s background still mostly a mystery but just enough to become part of history in GW2 timeframe.
Kuunavang has been living around the Harvest Temple for centuries long before Shiro caused the Jade Wind and trapped her under the Harvest Temple and eventually become free during Factions. Her role in Factions allowed the Heroes to save Cantha and stop Shiro with GW2 historians in current GW2 timeline still telling stories about it.
Tybalt
Rifle and ExplosivesBecause of..apples.
No!!!
Because when people give you apples you don’t give them apples..
YOU GIVE THEM APPLENADES!
The more i think about it, the more i feel a condi rifle might be the best idea; still missing suitable legend tho. Maybe Fierceshot can still be used, but would be a stretch.
I mentioned in one of my post Kuunavang would suit a conditon Rifle.
With Weapons based on a Legend the Rifle skin can be designed based on Kuunavang’s appearance similar to how the Herald’s Shield is based on Glint’s Wings.
The Utility can be Celestial skills that Kuunavang is known to teach the GW1 characters with the rifle skills based on Kuunavang’s attacks but the non-corrupt version.
I am wondering if the Revenant is basically a dead toon in lore since that is all they are good at. Now I know this is a blunt statement. But seriously I have 3 of every other profession and the Rev is pretty much useless in HOT content. Everyone else can fight things out. The Rev seems to just die.
So I guess what I am asking and saying is…..the Rev is seriously a dead profession. As in the character you create is already dead since they seem to love going back.
Would love to know how to build a toon that does not die every step of the way. And if it is just one way to make them. Then this needs to be tweaked.
I started playing this game and fell off. Then I started playing all new content that was coming up. The story and how it is done. Way better. The new specialties are great. The Mastery system is nice. Keep going in that direction with great content and amazing boss fights. As well as great story telling. ( yeah you get yelled at for spoilers).
But please do something about the Rev in PVE content. They just die all day long.
I don’t know the kind of players you’ve been meeting but I’ve been doing just fine in PvE as a Revy.
it could be that the players you meet are not adapted to Revy’s game play style being the reason why the players you meet die a lot as Revy.
Herald is a good buff keep legend but the only Facet a Revy should be upkeeping in combat is Facet of Darkness for the perm Fury.
Facet of Element is used only when you’re not in combat for the extra swiftness when exploring and during combat a Revy should be using Elemental Blast as a attack.
Facet of Strength is something that shouldn’t be used much since the Herald Tree hass a Trait to stack might for each buff added already so combat wise Burst of Strength should be used instead during combat.
Facet of Chaos is rarely used for the protection buff unless it is for that Oh S**** moments when you’re about to take heavy damage so it is often used for Chaotic Release to break the CC bar on enemies/bosses.
Facet of Light is often used for Infuse light when you’re going into melee range when you know the enemies hit hard in melee or there is a lot of melee enemies. Keeping a Melee weapon/Hammer is the best way to handle engagements in PvE since when a Revy enters melee combat they will want Infuse Light ready if enemies start hitting too hard in melee and when Infuse Light hits cooldown the Revy should back off and switch to hammer until either the Mallyx, Shiro, or Glint Legend healing skill is back up then get back into melee range with Mallyx or Shiro healing skills used for the first melee engagement then Infuse Light as the sustain to stay in melee combat a bit longer then back off back into range combat with Hammer.
Switching to other Legends in a Mallyx/Glint or Shiro/Glint combo is rather important in combat. For a Mallyx/Glint combo they want to switch between Mallyx and Glint for the two healing skills and from Mallyx the Revy should “Embrace the Darkness” and once the energy is out in Mallyx switch back to Glint and turn on Facet of Darkness and use both Burst of Strength, Chaotic Release, and Elemental Blast as attacks. For Shiro it is the same but use Impossible Odds with Enchanted Dagger to do you’re burst damage or if you need a extra stun to break those CC bar or hold off enemies a bit longer then use Jade Wind then use Enchanted Dagger for the extra damage and upkeep the Revy’s HP for a bit longer and once back to 50% energy or higher use Impossible Odds for the burst damage.
With only Facet of Darkness as the only upkeep providing both Fury and Might (Trait) the Revy player should always have plenty of energy to use for their weapon skills during their Glint Stance in combat.
Not all enemies should be engaged in melee range due to their heavy hitting attacks which is where the Hammer comes in to help keep a distance from the more dangerous enemies. If any engagement gets too dangerous then backing off and switching to hammer to handle the fight will make it far less risking. Getting Field of the Mist up after backing off is important since it serves as a projectile blocker and adds life steal to your range attacks.
