No. The game don’t have Holy Trinity for a reason. The system is not perfect, far from it, but its different from the Holy Trinity and it work. A lot of holy trinity MMO out there, so can we keep at least 1 that don’t copy/paste the same system over and over.

I used to do the lava run no problem on my mesmer even with no utilities as a newbie. Never thought it was hard, is it?

I just used full assassin on my necro, but the time is still so much slower than rabid. ;_;
Also, you could use perception stacks for additional crit. I think full assassin(including trinkets) gets you to around 61% crit chance without fury or perception stacks in the 30/15/0/0/25 build.

Rabid necro being so much better for boss solos like this shouldn’t be allowed, seeing as how you still have a defensive stat. But then i guess the fact that alphard has like -80% condition duration makes up for it. Sort of.

IMO non-3 offensive-stat solos are boring.

IMO locusts are dealt with easily with sword/pistol. Probably because i like doing p1 at the wall too. Blind and cleave.

You won’t need to move out of melee range, just circle around him. Locusts autoattack also has half a second cast time or so, so they will need to stop for a moment to hit you.
Use Warhorn #5, Focus #4, Death Shroud #5 &#4 and Well of Suffering(the damage/vuln) one to deal with locusts if they’re giving you a hard time. Keep your target always on lupi because by the time you dagger down locusts, he might just spawn some more.

I don’t advise pushing him to the wall in phase 1 unless you can avoid getting eaten up by locusts.

DPS elementalists are always wanted though honestly, i almost only play mine for the FGS most of the time, or if i’m running in an organized (guild) group for all of the might, deeps and fiery exploit swording.

About this ‘no dungeon team’? did they lay off the dungeon devs?

Stacking isn’t a cheese strategy. It’s efficient. There is still good gameplay even when stacking. Also, you aren’t being very specific as to what encounter, just making some generalizations.

Good groups realize:
- You still need to dodge
- You can res downed players quickly
- You can share your boons/blast fields with your party
- You can remove team conditions
- You can hinder the group by putting down unwanted fields (I’m looking at you bad necros)

Bad groups think:
- You stack and spam 1>2>3>4>5 and 6 sometimes.

The dungeon was AC P3 i thnk… the end lizard. dodge? nope. 12345 and sometimes 6? nope. afk autoattck while smoking….

Your group may have made use of the serious Exploit&problem called using gear with “Healing power”, “Toughness” and “Vitality”.
In that case. All of the bosses. Make sure to report those players.

Bads need a ranging weapon no matter what.

Afraid to say your ascended cleric items are a complete waste on a mesmer. The only classes where i’d see a real use for(if you wanted to do a full cleric group or w/e) are guardian, ele and probably warrior, since their aoe healing spells have really good healing power scaling and can be pretty strong if multiple people in the group run 1,5k+ healing power and such.

On topic, anyways: The most notable source of mesmer healing, Restorative Mantras, have a terribad healing power scaling, as rfdarko noted.

Work on getting a Berserker set and keep Restorative Mantras since you want to have a source of (group)healing. RM is already strong as kitten without investing a single point of healing power and i use it almost on all of my builds. Just don’t spam healing all the time when it’s not really needed and/or neglect your reflection/dps duty etc.
Something like 0/20/0/30/20 will do as a build while letting you keep most of the useful traits and let you slot RM with focus reflects and giving you a free slot for Adept inspiration(-20% glamour, 2 condi removal on heal, 4 if you use mantra, medics feedback = especially useful for stuff like cliffside/dredge/grawl shaman boss/mai trin/molten duo etc).

Normally i say, as a mesmer, your first job is to provide support in form of reflects, pulls, utility, aoe condi removal when needed, damage, stealth etc. Reflections are VERY useful in fractals and mesmers come with a lot of it.

Not in the mood of writing any guide or anything, but keep some of this stuff in mind. Learn to use Berserker gear in fractals, no matter what level. It’ll help you a lot in the long run.

Maximize your reflect uptime. Remove focus trait for Old tom.

You guys cried for crit damage nerfs for a year, now you get it. Cry some more, maybe they’ll not nerf crit damage at all then and keep it as is.

I am sure you have, but perhaps you should again (thoroughly) read the OP of the “Clearing the air on berserker” thread in the profession balance forums. That is what many people want. Not saying most, as unlike you seem to do, I do not have metrics. You do not have to agree with us, but ridiculing and overgeneralising those you do not agree with just makes you look like you cannot handle civil discussion.

I’m going to make a series out of this and try record every(or most) dungeon/fractal bosses being trivialized/facetanked/afk’d with barely any skill or player input needed and no dodges at all(since dodges are op and broken). I hit record too late on all 3 fights in this video, because it was so mindnumbingly boring that i wasn’t even paying attention to the game at all.

I really hate bads in MMOs. What i hate more is developers listening and catering to complete bads and making (good)players, who like challenge, who like not taking forever to kill enemies, who like using their reflexes/knowledge/etc. to overcome challenges lose interest/quit playing.

If Anet actually only ends up just straight up nerfing damage/DPS dealt, there will be only bads left, as many of the actual “elite” dungeon players(or elitist scum as bads on the forum and LE REDDIT :^D like to call them) will highly likely be fed up with getting ignored, infracted, and shafted with every patch then getting insulted by bads, all the time.

Example: No people to carry you bads through lupicus anymore. Once they fix arah exploits, there won’t be any dungeon sellers either.

I guess they’d just end up nerfing him aswell once people cry hard enough about not being able to get past that fight(as they did in masses in the past), lol.

Too phacking expensive and time gated. Chances of me getting a full set of zerk/sin gear for 3-5 characters as drops within a few months of doing (multiple)fractal clears daily are just about 0.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000001%(accurate estimate).

I’m fine with berserker/assassin gear not being the best for pve anymore….as long as the other “better” or as good sets have no defensive stats aswell AND if we get a choice to pick stats just like when they removed Magic Find.

For those people wanting high toughness bosses, there is already lv81/82 bosses in dungeons/fractals that take 20-40% less damage by default from direct attacks.

Berserker(3 offensive stats, 916 toughness+vitality) warrior giganticus lupicus solo world record = ~4:40 minutes

Rabid warrior(2 offensive stats, 1 defensive=toughness, around 2000 toughness and around 1000 vit i think) = ~6:20 minutes

Lv82 legendary boss has about 1,45 million HP.

Sounds about right, no?

Stop asking for your soldier, dire, settler etc. sets to do the same damage as a set with 3 offensive stats, people. THAT is what makes no sense.
