Fractals so easy i bet you can solo mai trin.

That is pretty much how every group i have been with for that fight has gone for me. Everyone else wipes instantly leaving me alone to try and beat her which doesn’t happen. So many people are really bad at not being hit by aeo attacks. I have been screwed out of several fractal ranks because of that stupid boss and being stuck with kittenty teams that die instantly.

Mai trin is rather easy to beat as a mesmer/elementalist solo, even at 30+. Of course it depends on what instability you get and you’re not allowed to screw up more than once, if at all.

TL;DR version of the morale of the whole thread: Pugs are bad. You are bad too, if you don’t use proper DPS builds, which provide other damage/defense buffs to the group without lowering your DPS. If you don’t do this or at least try, you are as bad as the pugs you’re talking down upon.

Gandalf just had recently converted to berserker, so he wasn’t used to ~12k HP and forgot to equip his GS back after using staff to help his team skip a boss, which is why he died. Friggin’ scrub.

Don’t expect pugs to be running team-builds unless you ask for them/state it in your LFG descriptions. People run whatever the frig they want. Usually it’s terrible builds, too.

All I can say is: Do NOT join a speedrun/experienced group if you are not kittening experienced. They won’t like you, and you won’t like them, so save everyone some time and read the LFG before joining.

Seriously 90% of the players don’t read what’s written in the LFG and then are confused why were they kicked or what the kitten is going on.

If you join a speedrun and you ask for advice is not as bad, but you are still hopping in on the train to get CARRIED, no matter how much you deny it.

This happens so many times. A few days ago, we 4 manned a path until lupicus, then spun the pug roulette. “Berserker gear, melee everything, no ranging. Ranging = kick”

A guardian joins and asks why we’d threaten to kick him if he ranges. Then we all explain things and ask him to melee about 2-3 times on lupicus. He comes into melee…

…with staff/scepter! We laughed, finished the fight and carried him through for the rest of the run. At least he listened and the rest of the path went alright. That was my good gw2 deed of the day.

Should ask 20g for every view like those guys on the LFG who “teach how to do X”

Even though i’ve soloed this path a brazillion times, i still watched the whole thing. Very detailed and informative.

Alright, so you’re going to implement +1 infusions that you can combine two of into a +2 infusion, two +2’s into one +3 etc., but what about old infusions like the Versatile Simple Infusion from the fractal vendor? Will these be removed or changed in any form?

I’d love to hear something about this from a developer, so i know if i should outfit my character with full +5 infusions before the Fractured patch.

Alright, alright. It’s settled. In the next few days, you’re going to see a real “play how you want” lupicus kill. Actually, i’m not sure if it’ll be possible to kill him in that setup.

Time will tell.

Practiced lupicus in path 2 for a few hours solo, got good at it then branched out to other paths eventually.

After over half a year of FotM Lv48 pugging, i don’t think i could have handled pugging Arah aswell, especially seeing how almost all players worth something already have guilds or mostly fixed groups. Also, you almost only get trash players like Bearbows for FotM 48 nowadays, unless you spend time sorting out the trash.

Nah, my norns are all males. I do more Arah runs on my EU account nowadays and only do more “casual” runs with my guild on US. Sometimes some people ask to buy runs, so i simply leave at the end and tell my group to invite those people to finish the run.

I also get way too much lag to finish runs solo in reasonable times(to me) lately.

Just contact me ingame if you want to buy arah clears or if you want to do regular runs(you’ll need full elitist gear aka. berserker or assassin for this though).

TL;DR: Someone in your group was a prikk.

I actually have a full PVT set on my warrior aswell. I’d gladly be the tank.

If you’re on NA, you can ask me out for a few dates in arah if you’re not too shy. I help out pugs a lot on good days and occasionally even do path 4 with them for their title ’n stuff.

All i ask of people is to use full Berserker’s or Assassin’s armor/trinkets/weapons and listen to orders. If you’re a ranger, make sure to bring a sword, an axe, a warhorn and maybe a red moa pet.

You guys should try out Citadel of Flame path 1. Maybe you’ll be able to beat my group’s world record even!

Everyone in the group used armor, trinkets and weapons with Wayfarer’s stats(Magic Find, Vitality, Toughness). The best possible statspread which was too OP for the game, so ArenaNet had to remove it a few weeks back.

Sidenote: The spawned parrots from the Runes of the Pirate did at least twice our DPS. Runes of the Pirate also OP.

But for you to be able to do an “almost” full clear of arah p4 in that short of a time, you must have used full berserkers, proper tactics/strategy and group buffs.

Problem is there are a lot of exploits in Arah and most dungeon sellers abuse them.

Problem is legit sellers have to invite 3 friends when selling to avoid beeing kicked by white knights.

I refer to those people as brown knights. You know, brown like the matter that humans eject from between their gluteus maximi.

My buddy “Maggnius” and me do arah path 2, 3, 4(sometimes 1 too) solo/duo clears/sales on NA servers pretty much every day.

Just hit either of us up ingame per whisper or mail. You can expect at least one of us to be doing this (almost)daily.

Pretty sure a group of 2 HGH grenade engineers and 3staff elementalists(adjust group setup depending on whats better) could kill it in less than 3 minutes easily. Give or take a few seconds if you decide to use Elixir U rng aswell.

Did you expect me to stand still, therefore get out of lupi’s melee range and get bubbled anyways? I’ve been moving with everyone else, trying to stay just in range to not get bubbled. I’ve also had ridiculous lag for the whole run(talking like 500-800ms ping), so i may have been rubberbanding around a bit. Trust me, i soloed lupicus enough to know his mechanics and such.

For the solo part on the second boss: In 9/10 cases i’ve pugged arah, having more than 1 person kiting/fighting the champ crystalline entities ended up taking far longer than just me soloing it, so i’d rather take not chances anymore to have people screw up and get me hit by those, unless i know i can trust them. Good to hear you had a laugh, though.

My opinion/feedback about that build? Grenades, 2 elixirs without HGH? Well, i’d say this is pretty terrible. If swiftness is your concern, you have elixir B with increased boon duration and the drop stimulant on med kit for 30+ seconds of swiftness combined with 50% boon duration alone on a 20 and 32 second cooldown(with fast acting elixirs) = perma swiftness.

I remember way back then, if you were dungeon host and got kicked out of your own instance, you could go right back and re-enter your own instance and even invite people back to it. I think the patch that changed how Fractal hosting worked has botched this up.

The build(with a few changes to traits/skills) you posted is pretty much what i use in dungeons. Bomb kit for the fire+smoke field+Big Bomb, Heal turret and rifle turret +shield 4 for blast area might/area stealth/area heal.

When i solo content or have the crazy idea to pug on my engineer, i run this other build and it’s very self sustainant while dealing the best self buffed sustained DPS possible as an Engineer, without relying on your group to do might/vulnerability stacking for you.

Spamming grenades with as much crit chance possible for maximum vuln/bleed(=damage for you and your group). All topped up with consistent 25 might, as long as you use your Elixir B, Toss Elixir B, Elixir H(and maybe Toss Elixir H aswell if you want to gamble for protection/regen), which gives you almost as much condition damage as a full condi damage set, with the addition of having really good direct damage from grenades aswell.

Lots of defense, which comes from your objectively huge HP pool of ~18k, 9000% uptime on vigor and two multi blocks with a 20 and 40 second cooldown respectively.
