Outside of the forum drama there’s not really much hate for Greatsword. I think some mean things were said and a few people got their knickers in a twist, but hey nobody died so I think everything’s going to be okay.

Use it if you enjoy it – it really doesn’t matter. If someone has a go at you for using it a dungeon, just leave and find another group. Dungeons aren’t particularly difficult nor are they ever complicated, so I imagine most people could care less what weapons you use.

Prime example of not helpful/detrimental info. You’re basically saying “play how badly you want and dont care about efficiency, the rest will carry you. If they don’t/kick you, try finding another group to carry you”. This is the mindset that makes pug-ing borderline unbearable sometimes(for most people).

Greatsword is a situational weapon and should not be used unless you really NEED it.
Same goes for staff.

Today I made experimental lfg ad with “DO NOT JOIN” description. I guess you should guess how that end.

I’ve done that plenty of times before, then just sit in the group and say nothing. Some people left instantly, others left after a few minutes and then there was some people who stayed for at least 15 minutes, even when i kept reposting the LFG ad.

Just finished my charity p4 run. At least 2 of my groupmembers had a mismatched gear set and 3 of them were newbies. One of the clunkier p4 pugs i had, but simin went well, because i forced them to chug proper food/potions and stack up on bloodlust/accuracy.

Not full-pugging arah again for at least a week.

Dude it was p4 for my first time. All of us had no idea where to go and what we could skip or could’t skip. We killed everything and melendru alone took around 1,5 hour because we had no idea what to do. Yes 7 hours its long but it was a fun run,

I also had to remake the party like 3 times because people were leaving and stuff. And nobody does arah p4.. just finding people for p4 is hard

I do charity runs for arah p4 every now and then, though i specifically ask people to melee&use berserker(assassin) gear and bother to gearcheck too.

Speaking of which: I’m building a(pug) group for arah p4 right now, just whisper me ingame quick if anyone’s in.

I’ve been using 2/3 mantras in dungeons for a year w/full berserker/scholar runes on my mesmer. Traited to give +4% damage on charge and to heal aswell. Pretty kitten good, as long as you don’t go around being useless and just spamming Mantra of Pain for heals.

I’ve also noticed almost all players on profession-forums are incredibly ignorant.

Hit me up ingame, OP. I’ll get you in on arah runs when i do them if you’re on NA, or we could just duo path 2/3/4 for fun.

You missed the part where he got those leaked notes from somebody in alpha testing. At least that’s what i heard.

How? When i played my necro, it felt rather weak even with dagger melee. My knowledge about necro damage is rather limited so to speak.

Nice job. I personally only am missing ranger now and i had pretty much given up on it since the weapons just suck kitten , until i heard that whirling defense actually reflects! I’m surely going to do it soon-ish and get my all-profession lupi solos-

Most bad players i found pugging weren’t using zerk gear. A bad player with other kind of gear doesn’t go unnoticed and doesn’t contribute anything at all. Even the worst berserker player ever at least does some damage before dying. A PVT/rabid/dire/cleric etc. geared bad build using double bow/double rifle player is good for nothing and does negative damage before dying.

Try outside of spvp perhaps?

You skip the trash the same way you do it while doing group arah run.

Stablity. Mobility skill. Condition removal, sigil of energy etc etc.

There are 2 boss you have to fight before. Just take the time to try yourself. For the 2nd boss, I think having stability helps so when he head bunt you, you can pick up the needle fast and neutralize him.

To abomination/2nd boss: If you dodge when he does the knockback+transform, you only get a very little knockback instead of that huge knockback. You also do not need to dodge his autoattack at all if you use proper positioning and movement.

Phantasm mesmers (which I am) would benefit from ruby. The 10% damage (afaik) does not apply to phantasms.

Exactly my problem with GS 1.3. Kills you more often than it helps.

Maybe sometimes you just get unlucky and they decide to poison outside the feedback. Or maybe it doesn’t actually work at all. I can’t confirm anything.

Feedback seems to work for the poison kraits(i forgot the name) if you do it right. That 2nd underwater pull my lv48 group took no damage at all from then when i used feedback. I don’t know the exact timing, but i use the spear 5 to pull some together, use feedback and timewarp. Haven’t had any problems with that group when my group wasnt full of (low DPS)re/tards.

Last time i checked even power builds are using conditions. I’m pretty sure it will hurt your “insane damage” if you suddenly cannot apply any vulnerability on your targets or if a mesmers phantasms cannot stack any bleeds at all.

All of your problems will be solved once you use a power build and actual good gear to go with it. Condition gear will always be the weaker one.

Both. I have about 20-25 customers that asked to add me to their friendslist + are really grateful for me selling them the spots, because that saves them time and braincells as they’ve told me and they need the tokens/title, as your average arah Pug is just plain, straight up terrible.

I even taught some of them how i solo arah p2(sometimes p3) without exploits some days, because i am a nice person if i don’t get trolled by kittened people.

Problem is not the sellers or the buyers. The problem is people exploit their way to the endboss (eg skip lupicus).

Let Alphard spawn when Lupicus is dead. Puff, 95% of the sellers would disappear.

That’d actually be great. Also, if the first asura boss is fixed, another bit of the leftover 5% would disappear, because people probably can’t handle killing that one without exploiting and those kind of people most likely glitch lupicus with flowers(? or something) too.

The LFG tool is just plain excrements and rushed. There isn’t even a godkitten black list option so you can filter out the idiots one by one, slowly but at least somewhat steady.

I tried some phantasm damage tests with and without scholar armor for a long time. I summoned some phantasms on the dummies in LA, changed one piece of berserker/scholar armor to to another set to remove the 6th rune set piece, checked damage: The low/high/average damage was 10% lower! Then i put it back on after about 10 minutes of watching numbers and put it back on. Damage went up by ~10% again. The same phantasms have been used for the entire duration and i tried summoning with and without scholar as well. It seems to work for rune bonuses, but the mantra +4 %X(n) bonus and the +3 %X(n)phantasm still don’t work.

I haven’t ran any tests on actual mobs/enemies/players yet, but i can say it definitely works on the dummies in LA.

“Ruin” what? If there’s many people selling, that means there is a lot of demand for it. Your endless forum/reddit crying won’t help or change anything. We are good people.

I have spent most of my gw2 gametime this week looking at gw2stuff timers and jumping around characters, zones and guesting around servers for Dragonite ore. I am now at ~2700 ore total.

This is the one of the most boring and grindy things that i’ve done in any game. This is not how i want to play. Please, make the grind end.

What frost guns? The only reference I can find to them is in Mount Maelstrom, but they are an environmental package and aren’t available for stocking.

I’ll tell you if you post me a video of 4 engineers dancing naked while another engineer solos the legendary grawl shaman @ fractal lv48 with pistol 1 only. I bet you’re too casual for that.

They look like a pile of excrements in dungeon GROUPS. You can still use sword Offhand and longbow very efficiently in a full power/precision/crit damage build. Just don’t do dungeons with a full condition warrior if you want to not be laughed at or are okay with being subpar as hell.

You can solo the basketball part with watchwork portals too.

Why’d you need a guide? If your friend can solo it on a warrior, you could solo it on your thief too. Let him show you or something.

I don’t understand, why would you need to neutralize Alphard? Found it rather easy to solo on all my characters(save necro, was rather hard without proper AoE) in melee. Just kiting around boxes while meleeing till she goes to the middle to spin, then keep whacking and frig off once the clones appear.

@Syn: Really? I always sort of give up when he gets to eat a grub if i’m aiming for better personal kill times and just restart. I thought it decreases your damage since it gives him higher armor. Let me do some tests on my thief in a bit.

The word “ranger” doesn’t have as much to do with the word “range”. The only definition of the ones Ethics quoted that had anything to do with range is the one where a ranger is someone who wanders in the wilderness etc. The “range” part might have to do with the range he travels, not the range he fights foes at.

I usually just burn 3 dodges on thief. You’re still gonna die a good portion of the time, but there’s not much you can do about that. Also, don’t trust pistol whip it’s very ineffective at lupicus for the evade, it takes way too long to trigger and will get you killed more than it will save you.

With or without feline grace? I just spent another 2 hours getting killed even though i’m spamming the hell out of dodges. Don’t have a problem running out of them, i just get hit through supposed evade frames. kitten es me off to no end.

I keep getting hit a lot more frequent on my thief from all of his attacks than i do on my other characters. I am starting to think that the thief dodgeroll is either bugged or intentionally has a shorter evade time. I keep getting 1 shot by attacks i have dodged all the time, it’s getting extremely irritating. Not even 4 dodges right after another save me from getting killed in p2 aoe a lot of the time for some reason. It’s gotta be Anet’s kittenty servers i guess.

Btw i used 15 Trickery for the dodge trait. I think i’m just going to drop that trait and see how it goes.
