While Dhumm and Menzies are both gods, they aren’t ‘reigning’ gods, like the current 6. Perhaps that has something to do with it. Of course, we don’t have anything that says there aren’t more dragons either. The only ones that might know how many dragons there actually are, are either dead or missing (Glint, the gods, the Forgotten, etc).
Edit: Incoming randomness. Here’s a thought to chew on. What if the gods get their powers from the dragons? Thus, with the dragons waking up, they pull those ‘borrowed’ powers back and as such the gods go poof… (Like I said, it was random)
While Dhuum is an ex-god, Menzies was never considered one. I don’t think they ever said what exactly he was, other than Balthazar’s evil half-brother. If I had to personally guess, I’m thinking he’s probably a half-god, like Grenth was before he claimed Dhuum’s powers and became a full god.
As for the randomness, the Six aren’t native to Tyria. We really don’t know where they, or the human race, came from other than some other possible world in the Mists. While the Elder Dragons have been going through their cycles for thousands and thousands of years, the Six (and humans) only showed up sometime after the Elder Dragons last went into hibernation. Godly powers fully functional.
Do you know what I think about this whole ordeal? I see BOTH TYPE OF RELATIONSHIP as a cheap way of telling a story, and it gets in the way of what actually is happening with the main plot. It doesn’t help that these same-sex relationship in these stories are usually the “in your face” kind of way and that their fans are the loudest when spoken against it.
That’s like saying a character’s thoughts and emotions gets in the way of the main plot…
“Why do I care if this person’s significant other had died? We can still be out there killing evil stuff!!”
They aren’t there to “get in the way of what’s actually happening”. They’re their to add depth to the character and world. If they didn’t do that, the story would be totally generic, and it would give cardboard a run for its money when it comes to depth and emotion.
CHIPS.6018:
Pact turrets fired at Zhantan from over a Kilometer away and killed him just fine. Pact do have turrects. They just choose not to install them and let us players do all the work.
Sure, they fired at Zhaitan from a distance, but they didn’t fire up though. Not to mention, Zhaitan was stationary as well. The Pact cannons could only be turned left, right, or center for aiming. All Scarlet would have to do to counter them, is keep a high enough altitude to stay out of the range of fire.
CHIPS.6018:
The players are powerless to stop the giant wheels of history. And that’s what makes a great story.
Your carpet bombing idea… again?
/facepalm
Hmm…
Tempting, but putting up so much siege equipment, and all the additional guards that need to be hired as well as trained on how to use it, might put a heavy dent in LA’s coffers.
~Puts on a Team Evon badge next to his Kiel’s~
“Now is the time for Evon! Kiel has the will and vision to defend us against the madness of the likes of Scarlet Briar, but she needs your help (but mostly Evon’s) to bank it all! Plus, he’s the only other notable candidate…”
“VOTE EVON!”
Heck, they knew Scarlet had airships, yet they didn’t even bother to put up air defenses.
They also saw her teleport an airship directly into an underground structure. With that, she could have bypassed any of said air defenses anyway.
On a side note, have humans even developed air defenses yet? The Charr and Asura have their different types of turrets, and the Sylvari might have some if they can grow the plants big enough. Do the humans have any long ranged air defense though, other than maybe some modified cannons? The threat posed by airship is extremely new after all.
How is Tyria homophobic? NOT ONCE do you see ANY homosexual characters being bashed/put down. And there are a fair number of NPCs open about it. (At least one Asura in Rata Sum mentions her mate/partner getting ideas into “Her cute little bald head” I’m fairly sure there might be at least one or a few more in Rata Sum themselves. At least one Norn NPC mentions waiting for her Girlfriend when asked out.)
I’m just not seeing any evidence of Tyria being hostile toward gays.
^^This^^
Homophobia and representation are two totally different subjects.
If you trust the hints, Scarlet is going to attack LA. And the Pact will, against all logic, do absolutely nothing to strengthen LA’s defences. So once again it is up to the players to defend LA, while the Pact sit by and watch. The Living Story so far are predictable like that.
The different politics at hand would make that impossible.
For one, the Pact is focused on the Elder Dragons. They might see Scarlet is a threat, but if they step on any toes by going after her, they risk the funding they get from all the player nations. If anything, it would be the Orders that take action against her.
Secondly, any increase of the defenses of Lion’s Arch would have to be ran by the Captain’s Council, and the majority of the Council already said no on the matter. Neither the Pact or the different Orders can just set up shop and put up weaponry around the city. That would be a gross overstep of boundaries, not to mention it could be taken as a hostile act against Lion’s Arch, and anyone involved on the matter would most likely be thrown out and/or arrested. Afterwards, all ties to the group will most likely be cut, and they will be banned from entering the city.

This is why we need those short stories back. Even now, we’re picking out little details to spin theories out of. What Scarlet Saw seems to be holding all sorts of little details and foreshadowing we’re only seeing now.
NEED MOER SHROT STOREIS!!!!
The Asuran society put up certain restrictions for a reason though, because expanding the borders of science is all well and good, but if it comes at the cost of others, specially other intelligent beings, it could be considered evil or amoral.
Even after the Arcane Council rejected her work, she still had the support of Headmaster Omadd. The work might have taken a bit longer to do, but she would have still been able to continue it with his support. She didn’t even care about the Arcane Council’s opinion in the end, but she still decided to join the Inquest. They could teach her new things, uncaring in how they came to be, but most importantly is because they provided fast results.
I like Teyo. More importantly, I need to advance my theories quickly. And nobody’s better at quick results that the Inquest.
If she wanted freedom, she could have just left to continue on her own, but she wanted results more than she wanted freedom. The Inquest can provide said result quickly through their less than caring practices.
On a humorous sidenote…
Mixing potions, poisons, and elixirs to produce specific effects was similar to building devices, but there was too much horticulture and not enough engineering for her tastes. If she wanted to spend her life harvesting pollen or distilling extracts from exotic blooms, she would have never left the Grove.
Tower of Nightmares anyone? I guess we know why she left it up to the NC, Krait, and Marjory to do all the heavy lifting now. If she wanted to work with plants, she would have stayed in the Grove.
She cared for the science, and not their ideology it seems.
Not their ideology? She seemed very much at home with the complete disregard towards the safety and lives of others. What with them allowing those “field tests without those irritating and unnecessary safety precautions.”
I disagree. The Ceara as portrayed in the short story did not come across as amoral. However, she was very self-centered, and anti-social. But that does not make someone a psychopath. That makes her reclusive and anarchistic (which plenty of people are).
Plenty of people are also psychopaths as well, but that doesn’t make them necessarily dangerous or a threat to the society, because not all of them are violent. Ceara is a different matter though…
She has shown zero empathy towards others. Which doesn’t make her dangerous, but combined with her thirst for knowledge; it was shown she will go to extremes without any regards for how it might effect others. She joined the Inquest, willingly to expand her knowledge on the different subjects. They’re almost the basic definition of amoral in Tyria at the moment.
Ceara’s time with the Inquest was brief but extremely productive: they taught her things the other colleges wouldn’t even discuss, and allowed field tests without those irritating and unnecessary safety precautions.
People learn through studying the matter and participation, and they taught her things the other colleges wanted nothing to do with. For the Inquest, that usually involves the amoral experiments they do to different races, and she participated in them.
(edited by Erukk.1408)
Psychopaths aren’t always violent, she only seem to have gotten that trait after she “became” Scarlet.
Though for the literal definition…
psy·cho·path [sahy-kuh-path]
noun
a person with a psychopathic personality, which manifests as amoral and antisocial behavior, lack of ability to love or establish meaningful personal relationships, extreme egocentricity, failure to learn from experience, etc.
Which almost describes her to a T.
He certainly does. Hopefully next Halloween we’ll learn more about the other Mad Queen’s… and then I’ll have to give Oswald a stern talking to, followed by him sleeping on the couch.
That was probably when he started thinking about getting a new wife. When he got send to the Cold Dark Couch of Every Increasing Despair and Loneliness.
I find it a bit fascinating that the Pale Tree used plural nouns in that sentence.
“In seeking to comprehend the forces that shape us, you will unleash them.”
If something is possibly “shaping” the Nightmare, is it possibly that something in “shaping” the Dream as well. It would fit the duality that most of the Sylvari, and Scarlet herself have.
The Dream / Nightmare
Wild Hunts / Dark Hunts
Dreamers / Nightmare Court
Caithe / Faolain
Ceara / Scarlet
^Another question would be, do the devs draw a line between Ceara and Scarlet? Meaning that maybe Scarlet will die but Ceara lives on? We’ll see.
Ceara was/is still a psychopath though.
She only cared for herself, had zero empathy towards others, only saw them as tools for increasing her own knowledge, had no respect for any sort of boundaries (whether they be physical, magical, ethical, or moral) when it came to expanding her knowledge.
There isn’t much difference, if any, between the personalities of Ceara and Scarlet.
Well seeing that kormir wasnt a god to begin with I dont see why she even matters.
It matters because neither Kormir, Grenth, or Abaddon himself were gods to begin with. Kormir took Abaddon’s mantle, Abaddon took it from an unnamed predecessor, and Grenth took his from Dhuum. So you cant solely discredit Kormir, because she doesn’t fit your theory, for not being a god to begin with. That applies to other gods as well.
Plus, this whole theory got debunked during the Personal Story, during the Cathedral of Silence story.
Priestess Rhie: I am Grenth’s servant, and we have survived many dangers to speak with you, Please, hear us?
The Seventh Reaper: I see in your heart that you are no stranger to Death. Very well. I will hear you out, but in return you will kill in Grenth’s name.
The Seventh Reaper: The keeper of this shrine has fallen to Zhaitan. Grenth wishes him returned, but I am too weak to perform the task. Destroy the keeper, and I will aswer your questions.
Grenth is still active, and he was upset that Zhaitan stole one of his dead priests to serve him.

They don’t have to die, but for some weird reason, some writers think that’s the only way to get a deep emotional impact from the reader/player. Over reliance on such a thing, can lead to a jaded fan base.
As other people have said, Scarlet is probably going to die soon, and while I’m not hoping for a “redemption” per say; I kinda hope she’ll explain her motives what at the end. Maybe not in the “Evil Overlord Monologue”-style, but more like dropping little tidbits of info the players can connect the dots with during the final battle.
Though with the mental clash between Scarlet and whatever during hologram entries, I wouldn’t be surprised if the “Entity” fully takes over during the final moments.
Definitely no place for being twins. Secondborn or later-born is not hipster enough. Solution: Scarlet will turn out to be the 8th, secret firstborn super-child of the Pale Tree. What would you expect from such a pathetic hag of Villain Sue who’s “incidentally” a writer’s wub’ed pet?
Which is impossible, since the Grove was already up and functioning when she awoke. Not to mention, she was met by a mender right when she left her pod, and she studied engineering in the Grove as well. That would imply there were another Sylvari there that knew enough to teach the subject.
That would rule out First and Secondborn, and it could possibly rule out Third and Fourthborn as well.
Technically, all the Sylvari are siblings…
Canach is mostly noted as a secondborn though. If Ceara was one as well, which I very much doubt, I would think they would have labeled her as one by now.
It doesn’t reflect the demographics of reality, so it can’t be to appeal to the player.
I found this statement hilarious. You’re trying to apply real world demographics and statistics to a fictional fantasy realm, and then you are complaining when they don’t match.
Ya, everyone knows that Kiel is obviously the bad guy in all of this. I mean, really, how hard would it to be to convince a council of money hungry backstabbing pirates to care about the welfare and safety of the common man?
/sarcasm
“Rox: So…you’re a mated pair?
Kasmeer Meade: (laugh)
Marjory Delaqua: (chuckle) We’re currently in negotiations.”If that’s the way portrayal of that relationship will continue I think it would be as shallow as I feared. Truth be told delivery is not so bad but still strikes me as a bit juvenile. Heh if during this year retrospect they point out pair of lesbians as their achievement I’ll be equally disappointed.
Would you have rather they went into a waxy poetic dialogue of how they love each other very much, they couldn’t live without the other, it was love at first sight, that the other is their soul mate, etc., etc,?
They response was much more realistic, and I’m glad they didn’t shovel fluff at us. They’re in a relationship, and they care for one another very much, but they haven’t agreed to go that extra step to become a “mated pair” yet.
jihm.2315
they belong in Logans harem, they pretend they are lesbians so queen does not suspect the truth.
Everyone knows its would really be Jennah’s harem. Logan would just be lucky to be involved at all.

This just in: Pale Tree is a futa.
The Pale Tree has no idea why they keep calling him “Mother”, but he stopped trying to change their mind after the first ten years.
I hope the old Lion’s Arch fountain underwater does not get destroyed in the process. I have too many fond memories of that place. Every single event I hosted in GW1 together with Daniel Frozenwind has always been at that fountain. Frankly, I wish they would bring it back to the surface.
Well…
If Scarlet’s attacks has a big enough explosion underwater, whatever is left might land somewhere nearby…
Okay, crazy hypothesis here, but what if he really was a Krait Prophet, rather than just one of Scarlet’s experiments? I know that he’s basically a Sylvari/Krait hybrid, but what if Scarlet actually succeeded in recreating one of the Krait’s prophets?
Could it be that the Krait Prophets are an extinct sub-race of the Krait, and that he really was the last of his kind?
Since the Krait Prophets are supposedly “ascended” beings, I would go with the theory that it’s possible it was a prophet, but the Toxic Hybrid was simply a vessel for it.
Though with how many loose ends Scarlet’s storyline is leaving, I wouldn’t be surprised is Anet picks them up and uses them later down the time.
Silly theory incoming!
Lion’s Arch the site for the biggest battle during the War in Kryta, which resulted in rather many dead Mursaat and Jade Constructs.
What if the is trying to get access to those?
Sadly, I’m sure Queen Salma had the Shining Blade destroy all the Mursaat bodies and Jade Constructs that littered the ground after the battle. They would present too much of a risk if they were just left there.
The best chance she would probably get to obtains any Jade Constructs is if she were to excavate the ruined Mursaat base in the Rings of Fire. She would have to pray too find some nooks and crannies that didn’t get overtaken by lava though, and pray even harder that were would be some inactive Jade Constructs in said nooks and crannies as well
Needless to say, its would be a very slim chance as best.
250 years in the making… “The Battle for Lion’s Arch, the Sequel!”
Rally your forces and prepare to defend the city against a full assault from Scarlet’s forces!
As for how the encounter would go, I’d imagine that Scarlet is going to move her airship/drill to right above the probe, and then she is going to open portals all across the city to flood it with her forces. It will be the players job to move from portal to portal to help aid the defenders in closing them. Afterwards, they player will rally all the defenders (Kiel, Evon, Canach, DE 2.0, remaining Captain’s Council (because we all know the expendable captains have a chance at dying), and members of the Orders) to put an end to Scarlet once and for all.
In classic season finale cliffhanger style though, we kill/stop Scarlet just too later, and the drill fires on the probe’s location to try and kill, destroy, awaken, free, or whatever the hell she’s trying to do to whatever the hell is down there.
What’s up in the air though, is if Anet and the devs are sadistic enough to actually leave it hanging until the beginning of season two.
For the Mordremoth theory, I always just assumed he was just absorbing the nutrients from the surrounding lands. He isn’t consciously destroying the land, per say, but he was taking their water and nutrients like a invasive weed would in a garden. The weed only cares for itself, so it has no qualms with strangling and killing off the competition (ei: any vegetation that he doesn’t see as his own).
Being possibly underground for so long, not to mention starved to hibernation from the last ED cycle, could have left Mordremoth weakened and withered. It is based around a plant after all. So, Mordremoth has been drawing in nutrients from the surrounding lands to revitalize itself for its coming awakening.

the Pale Tree and the Thorn Vine, entwined (in the Short Story: What Scarlet Saw, the vine is said to cling to the Pale Tree “like a desperate lover”).
Eh. Still a theory, but if they somehow turns out to be true, I can imagine the forum thread name already….
ANOTHER lesbian relationship!?
My googling skills turned up naught it seems. All I can seem to turn up is Aaron Ansari discussing the matter on https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/lore/lore/Scarlet-Slayer-of-Lores/page/6#post3268819.
According to the Fractal, she was part of the Inquest.
How so? I didn’t see any indication that she was with the Inquest. All I see is that she visited the Thaumanova reactor, either in the past for real, or now as a fractal.
If I remember right, I think one of the Inquest in the fractal implied she was a consultant. I don’t think they outright said it, but they said something of the effect of “weird things started to happen once that consultant showed up”.
I’ll have to see if I can find the dialogue somewhere. It doesn’t seem to be in the wiki.
“And in all honesty, ArenaNet probably chose that place not due to its proximity to the Priory, but the lack of hostility+”in a cave" for their little cave painting."
If that’s the case then they have yet again shown a supposedly clever person doing a very stupid thing. The have now also made her a charismatic alliance leader, great weaponsmith, ufo designer, mad anarchist, and now a reclusive hermit as well. All at the same time!
I wouldn’t really call Scarlet a “charismatic” leader. She mostly seems to mostly lead the different alliances either through fear, knowledge, and profitability. Her screaming “Die, die, die, die, die, die!” also takes away from any charisma too. Unless, of course, you’re into that.
For the other stuff, hermit living in caves are usually either wise or deranged in a fantasy setting. Luckily for us, Scarlet can be classified as both.
How do you get survival of the fittest out of “Act with magic, act within reason, act without mercy”? That’s Abaddon’s motto if we ever had one, straight from the game.
Abaddon is not a survival of the fittest kind of guy – if any powerful entity is that, it is Jormag.
“Act without mercy” kinda sums it up. After the gift of magic, humans were getting pushed towards extinction. Yet, Abaddon didn’t seem to care. The only thing he cared about was that the gift of magic was allowed to stay, even if that could have possibly led to the death of the human race.
Maybe it was because his Margonites were thriving with the Gift in place, and he simply turned a blind eye towards the other god’s humans? We will never be able to tell without further information on the matter, but his actions, to me at least, still screams of “survival of the fittest” mentality.
Humans couldn’t handle the Gift of Magic, and they were slowly getting killed off by either their enemies or themselves. So, Abaddon acted without mercy, and he simply didn’t care. If they couldn’t handle the Gift that the gods gave them, well tough luck.
I think most people only knew about this suspected relationship, before this LS update anyhow, was because of us forumites. We took them “picking out curtain” for relationship lingo, and we branched off from there. Because during the Tower of Nightmares, there wasn’t much to go on in the matter. Any funny or even slightly suggestive dialogue could have between only close friends. Which isn’t really creditable proof for the relationship.
Sure, now we know that there is a love story going on between them, but we only got that from a livestream interview. This was how this thread got started in the first place. Which is what I would call subtle myself, because what percentage of the playerbase actually watches those? Not much, I’d imagine. The only reason most people knew about that confirmation, again, is because of word of month by us forumites.
The only more subtle way for them to broadcast that info, is if they coded it in New Krytans and slapped it on a random post in LA. It would then be found and decoded in a matter of days, and it would spread by word of mouth just as fast.
On a side note, we still don’t know what stage their relationship is at atm. We know that it’s a love story, but love stories usually begin at the beginning after all. For all we know, they could still be at the “close friends with conflicted feelings” stage.

Welcome to Guild Wars!
The place where OP builds get nerfed, because you guessed it…. They’re OP.
From their ashes, other OP builds rise up. Then, they too get nerfed after awhile.
It’s the circle of life!
Gotta say, I’m surprised Balthazar wasn’t siding with Abaddon on the whole keep magic as is sorta thing….
I can understand why he might have his reason for restricting magic again. Balthazar might be the god of war, and he loves a good fight as much as everyone else, but he’s a human supremacist first and foremost.
When the gods gifted unrestricted magic to Tyria, they basically gave everyone a bunch of AK-47s and said, “Have fun!”. Abaddon didn’t see a problem with this because of his total belief in the “survival of the fittest” mentality. Balthazar probably had problems because the magical wars after the gift of magic brought humans to the edge of extinction.
If humans had the advantage, and they were killing their enemies left, right, and center and expanding their territory, Balthazar’s opinion might have differed on the subject. But since his favored race was getting killed off, he sided with the other gods on the matter.
We only say it’s a fact that Abaddon can’t reappear, because as of right now, that is Anet’s official stance on the matter. So, it is a fact. They have stated that he is dead, and his story ended in Nightfall. If they ever decide to change their minds, they would be going against their own words.
Also, once in the UW, can those ghosts ever break out?
Stuff breaks out of the Underworld all the time. Though, like Aaron said, Thorns seems to be the only one to be able to do in reliably.
So the afterlife =\= UW, so if you were to die in the UW, you would continue to the afterlife? Or is that whole procedure sketchy too.
You would probably leave your physical body behind, and your soul would go to the beginning of the Labyrinth, the beginning part of the Underworld. That’s where new souls seem to go. The new souls that wish to pledge their eternal devotion to Grenth get led to a town nearby. That leave the possibility of the other gods having their own afterlives as well. Which the new souls might get a chance to go to, after they have been judged by Grenth in the Underworld.
(edited by Erukk.1408)
Even that span of variations only takes into account humans- we know nothing about the afterlife of other races for a fact, except that charr could be sucked into the Realm of Torment just the same as humans, and that a variety of other races are also capable of remaining behind as ghosts.
I kinda want to see a Charr being sent to the Underworld. The thought of them going before Grenth to be judged, and them trying to possibly kill Grenth and his reapers, would be too funny to pass up.
There’s also the chance, however slight, that the Elder Dragons and gods will ally together and fly around Tyria as great God Dragon Rider Overlords holding the Tyrians to their will. This is why the gods and the dragons line up so well.
@ Konig: I know they gods and dragons don’t line up. I added that line in order to reinforce the heavy dripping sarcasm.
I’d much prefer the possibility of an portal opening up in the time of our need, and Sapphire Honeysuckle (AU!Scarlet) flies out riding Merlimoth, the Elder Dragon of the Enchanted Forest, to save the day!
I’ll try my best to answer some of these.
So I’ve read a lot about Abaddon and how it’s impossible we meet him because we’ve killed him. Aside from the devs saying it’s unlikely, is it possible for Scarlet to meet a previous version of Abaddon, like in the past? Or is it because we killed Abaddon in the Mists, he is unable to manifest in the Mists at all, past and present versions of himself.
From what we know the Mists, you don’t really see past/present/future versions of events. You see imperfect copies of events and possibilities of the future. None are totally accurate, but they can give us glimpse into the past and future.
While it could be possibly for Scarlet to have ran into a Mist-born copy of a past version of Abaddon, I don’t find it very likely. The devs have already stated that he’s dead, and that his story has ended. Even if it is only a copy, it would still be “Abaddon” effecting the story. Something that they don’t want. The most we can hope for on that front is the devs expanding on his backstory: his predecessor, rise to power, and whatnot.
Since the Mists are described as the connection of the multi-verse, could we see multiple versions of Scarlet? Maybe even versions of of NPCs that are reversed(heroes gone bad, villains gone good) etc. Or is that just a description that Anet are not keen to explore, making multi-verse theories unlikely?
The Mist does connect the multi-verse, but any expansion on it, beyond WvW and fringe story elements, might be a little too science fiction for this fantasy game.
Additionally, the Mists seems to act as some sort of afterlife(very confusing). What happens if you die in the Mists? If you die in the real world, do you ALWAYS go to the Mists, or is that a right reserved for certain individuals?
I would imagine you would still go to your afterlife if you died in the Mists. Unless your spirit stays earthbound as ghost, it would most likely travel to the Underworld to be judged. Then it would be spend to its final destination. That might change depending on faith. Though, external factors might change that destination. I remember anyone in association with Abaddon in gw1, no matter how small, got stuck in the Realm of Torment.
Could we potentially see our old GW1 heroes as “ghosts” in the Mists? Heroes like Mhenlo, Devona, Jora etc.? Would be a great throwback to the veterans and a possibility to add new compelling heroes who may give us just a bit more insight into what happened to the world after our story ended in GW1.
Possibly. It would depend if they ever open up travel to the Underworld and the Hall of Heroes.

I support this.
On a side note, why is it that whenever an intelligent person, specializing in tech, shows up in the LS, some people automatically conclude that person must be from the future? Yes, dimensional (not time) travel was used in the Asura PS, because it was funny and it suited them. That doesn’t mean it would ever actually be part of the LS or other races PS.
(Techno)Magic!
15 characters
Since this is the lead up to the season one LS finale, I think they’re withholding information so they don’t spoil anything early.
So Dhuum could maybe plan to revive Abaddon and Allie with with Menzies and thus target the current gods especially (Grenth, Balthazar, and Kormir).
Dhuum performing a resurrection?
Funny!
Also, I was thinking Kiel is pretty well written out of the picture by this point, but if Scarlet does anything with Fort Marriner, we may actually be seeing more of her soon too.
We haven’t seen her because she became a politician. That alone at least doubles a character’s levels of boring. Though, if Scarlet does attack Fort Marriner, I’m kinda hoping to see Kiel and Evon fighting side by side. Evon will, of course, be nagging her about the election, and if he made Captain Council, Lion’s Arch would have been much better prepared for such an obvious future attack.
…maybe adding Canach too. I doubt it will happen, but it would be plausibly to see him conscripted from prison to help protect the populace. Especially if it was during a major attack. It would also be a good way to semi-start his storyline again, by throwing him in the politics of Lion’s Arch afterwards.
I’m surprised no one brought it up yet, but Scarlet might be in the Mists for the same possibly reasons that the Sons of Svanir are. Obviously, the Elder Dragons (or at least Jormag) are interested in the Mists, or at least something in it.
This is of course still using the Entity=Mordremoth theory.
The Pale Tree was NOT a dragon champion. For one, she was planted as a seed, so she had no life prior to that. Second, there is no natural way to break the mental control the Elder Dragons have over their minions. So no amount of happy thoughts and singing Kumbaya will ever convert them. They are fanatical in their devotion to them, and their thought process is strictly “with us (minion of the same dragon) or against us (everything else)”.
The only way Glint was able too escape was because the Forgotten forcefully captured her, and they used an obscure ritual to break the connection. She empathy afterwards came from her telepathy. She as able to look into the hearts and minds of the mortal races, and she decided that she would do all she could to protect them.
(edited by Erukk.1408)
Kinda wish there was alittle more info in that video. We already basically knew she was going there awhile ago.
Why does DE2 need to be a representative and dungeon-group-sized? No reason they couldn’t be casual-guild-sized.
I’ll have to agree with this. The only thing keeping the group together at the moment is Scarlet. Once she is gone, they will probably separate into their groups and part ways again. Jory and Kasmeer back to DR, Rox and Braham back to BC and Hoelbrak, Taimi back to Rata Sum.
If they go with the casual guild approach, they can have a large ensemble of characters, and they will be able to better pick and choose which characters best match the LS storyline at the time.
