You got disrupted or canceled it. There’s a cancelation time of 3-4 seconds so you can’t just abuse certain skills (+stats while doing X, +Y while doing Z).
Example: +400 Toughness while channeling a Mantra. I can constantly channel a Mantra and cancel to continue casting it for perma-400 toughness.
Block while casting X. I can cancel it and then re-cast it immediately for perma-block.
Woah, completionist… taking a cruise… WITH NO WIFI? WHAT KIND OF CRUISE IS THAT?! WHAT KIND OF COMPLETIONIST IS THAT?!
BUT HE DIDN’T GET WHAT HE WANTED. HE WANTED 10 CLAIM TICKETS, 20 KEYS, 5 MORE CLAIM TICKETS, 3 COFFEES, 2 FERRARI’S, AND A BEACH HOUSE.
caps lock included.
It’s easier to do them solo.
You’re on during off hours.
There’s always people posting on GW2LFG.
Nice complaint?
Apparently moving the minimap will let you hit the button, but… I posted a thread about this and would like it to get fixed. (Have the leave instance button get drawn last and take priority when clicking.)
Thief/Mesmer and Thief/Thief are both really nasty combo’s.
Because you’re waiting for the world to get open which, as Gaile Gray has stated, isn’t based on how many people are logged in. You’ll probably have to wait till near Halloween-ish.
I hope you realize that you can complete one meta-achievement in a day (that means 6 achievements). There are two meta-achievements. If you can’t login for 2 days (and by 2 days, I mean 4 hours sessions each day), then that’s not Arenanet’s fault.
Doing both daily achievements requires 6 days out of two weeks possible. That leaves very little time for any summer holiday activity.
Also, just recently we were told that while living story is shifting to a new event every two weeks, it would not mean shortening the events themselves (they were to last full month each – partly to avoid the problem that OP nas mentioned).
What they mean is that each Living Story segment will last one month with another update every 2 weeks.
Example:
Dragon Bash is a month long event.
Sky Pirates was the finisher to that event, during the final two weeks.
Zephyr Sanctum is a month long event.
Cutthroat Politics is the finisher to that event, during the final two weeks.
Comprende?
Also, you don’t need to finish “Candidate Every Day” to get the meta-achievement. If you’re trying to be a completionist, then be a completionist and don’t go outside.
6 achievements.
I Like Candidate: Get to the Top of Zephyr Sanctum and vote for Candidate. ~2 minutes.
Candidate: Dungeon Runner: Run a dungeon while representing candidate. CoF P1, 10 minutes.
Candidate: Direct Support: Tier 1 and 2 of Candidate Trials. ~20 minutes.
Candidate: Maw Mulcher: Jade Maw Fractal. ~1 hour.
Candidate: Advanced Support: Tier 3 and 4 of Candidate Trials. ~30 minutes.
Candidate Homeland Support: Complete 20 achievements in Candidate’s homeland. ~1 hour.
Total time: 3 hours 2 minutes.
Notes:
CoF P1 should take around 6-8 minutes. You can search for the group while doing Homeland Support.
Direct Support is fast and easy while solo. Advanced Support requires some research before soloing, but is relatively simple. Soloing is much more efficient (in terms of speed and ease).
Maw Mulcher may take longer than 1 hour. If you do Fractal2, you can maybe do it fast, depends on your party.
Homeland Support should be done in Gendarren Fields/Queensdale or Diessa Plateau. Gendarren Fields has the Nebo Terrace chain (slightly nerfed, Queensdale is faster). Queensdale has the Champion Train. Diessa Plateau has Meatoberfest (6 events in a small cluster). This will take ~20-40 minutes in Queensdale, ~30-50 minutes in Diessa Plateau, and ~40-60 minutes in Gendarren Fields.
Every Day simply requires 1 Vote Token for each Candidate. You get 2 mailed to you at the start of this event.
Make a new character and just guest there while playing around, but don’t do/get anything that will make that character permanent.
Hell no, ellen kiel is the new trahearne/kormir…
Greed or Mary Sue?
Dungeoning isn’t like any other game. Take WoW. You go to Wailing Caverns to get new gear.
Here, you don’t go to dungeons to get new gear, unless you’re level 80. Dungeons are just a place to enjoy yourself and/or work towards getting level 80 gear. You can use dungeon tokens to buy gear at that dungeons level (AC would give level 30 rares) but it’s not actually worth it, because the effort put in would require you to be level 35+ and you’re getting level 30 items back.
If you want to experience dungeons, I would suggest going to the Trading Post, giving yourself a budge (of say, 1g) and then buying gear. Focus on getting as high of a tier item on your Chest, then Pants, then Helm, then everything else. This is because they give the most stats. Make sure you don’t spend more than 1g.
If you feel weak, do this (at most) once every ten levels.
The best way to get gear, however, is to spend your karma on it. Also, don’t forget to buy runes. Low tier runes are ridiculously cheap. You can get +60 power (6 +10 power runes) for less than 10s. Make sure you get 6 different runes so that you always get the first rune effect. You can then use Transmutation Crystals (if you have a lot of them spare) to move the runes from item to item, or you can buy more when you finish using an item.
I have a level 23 Guardian that’s wearing level 0 gear because I put runes into it and it’s still stronger than what I can get. The only problem is I now don’t have the natural armor from upgrading my gear, so I’m squishy, but I hit hard.
Or just time-gate your honor rewards so theirs no point in spamming honor. Sure you can honor 1000 people, but you have to login 1000 days to get all that reward.
Actually, a better way to do fractal skins (weapons at least) would be to have the rings you have be able to get tossed into the Mystic Forge. Infused Rings would have their own tier.
What happens when you toss 4 rings in is you can get an account-bound fractal skin (not weapon, but skin) OR you can get a pristine fractal lump (or something). When you get X lumps, you can turn them in for your skin of choice.
Putting in 4 infused rings gives you a higher chance at getting a skin instead of a lump (with the possibility of more than 1 lump).
Then decline it when you need another guild invite.
Yeah, I know. There used to be Dungeon only guilds, which had 200-500 members in them scattered across multiple worlds and they would be used to get dungeon groups ridiculously fast. But then a little bit after fractals came out, people stopped dungeoning (at least, in “Puguilds”) even though they were amazing.
The guilds in the game have degenerated into PvX guilds which force (yes force) players to represent them at all times. It’s disgusting. I was guesting on this one guild that had Guild Missions on a good day for me, but 3 weeks in I started getting spam from officers for not representing and then I got kicked. Now I have another guild for Guild Missions which doesn’t require me to rep, but they’re not consistent.
And, while I may hate on guilds for being PvX, I’m only hating on PvX guilds because they’re not really that good. Now if you’re in a smaller guild that’s “PvX” that’s fine because it’s a small community/family, which means that you will do what everyone wants to do (for the most part). But if you’re in a 450 PvX guild, that just means that you have a ton of members that do their own thing and you’ll have these cliques that start to appear. These 5 people always dungeon together. These 8 people do Fractals. etc, etc, etc. The only thing everyone in that guild does would be WvW together, when a lot of them are on.
I know I’m overgeneralizing again, but bear with me.
Instead of being a WvW guild that allows people to rep whenever they want to WvW, they say they’re a PvX guild that doesn’t really do PvX (there’s no way you can PvX in a single guild). Yes, you can lead 5 guilds, have one guild be WvW, one guild be Dungeons, one guild be Map Completion, one guild be World Bosses, and one guild be PvP. But that’s actually better than having one guild that’s PvX (even if all of those guilds are led by the same person).
Here’s why.
If someone wants to do PvP, they can talk to people who PvP instead of trying to ask in a gigantic clusterf chat where there’s 500 people trying to talk at once (yeah this never happens, but hush). If someone wants to do world events, they don’t need to call out in Guild chat and annoy everyone who’s trying to grab Green EB Keep (not that they’re paying attention to the chat anyways). If someone wants to call a world event, they don’t need to bother people doing dungeons.
The list goes on. The whole point of the represent multiple guilds is that people would be able to BE IN MULTIPLE GUILDS not just have a bank guild, another bank guild, another bank guild, another bank guild, and your PvX guild.
I guess this is why I’m a solo player, and while I’m in 4 guilds, 2 of them consist of me, one of them is guild missions which I guest, and the final one is that old AR guild I started up.
Eh, I don’t think I conveyed my message very well here… and I’m ranting off topic. :D
I hope you realize that you can complete one meta-achievement in a day (that means 6 achievements). There are two meta-achievements. If you can’t login for 2 days (and by 2 days, I mean 4 hours sessions each day), then that’s not Arenanet’s fault.
You need to pick 2 to complete direct support. (Yes I know you already picked 2)
You have to run Tier 2 twice. The second half of it won’t get completed unless you do the higher tier of the two. It’s not a bug.
Decline it or just leave it there. If you leave it there they can’t invite you. :D
Getting 3 points in the Hall of Monuments is easy, but it would require you to go buy and play a different game. So yeah, I suppose you can’t have that mask.
I wouldn’t recommend WvW as a leveling method. You will be oneshotted by many enemies.
That’s not entirely true. If you’re playing something like a Ranger or a Necromancer, you can sit in the middle of your zerg in EB and just drop your ranged stuff at enemies. Easy levels and pretty fast, but it’s boring as all…
Why is mesmer hard to level?
Mesmers are a very, very weak profession. They have very little going for them.
Then, you have Mesmer traits. These things will make or break your profession. With just traits, you can turn a terrible build into an amazing build. However, while leveling up, you don’t have access to [most] traits. This not only makes your builds weak, but they’re not even close to their full potential.
The main problem is that most of your key traits are Master/Grandmaster and the Minor ones that are good are also lumped with other good Minors, which means you can’t get all of the good stuff until you have all of the [excess] trait points.
There are a few lulzy cheat methods of leveling in PvE, such as rolling an Asura Mesmer, then running Greatsword + Staff. Start with Staff, drop your Stakitten + Radiation Field, then switch to Greatsword, use Greatsword 4 + 2 + 5 + 3. Suddenly 5 mobs are dead. (Of course this has a 60 second cooldown for the entire combo, hue.)
In reality, it’s not very efficient, but when you add in moving from one large pack of mobs to another, it’s pretty good. There are still faster methods, though… much… faster methods.
I played GW1. I liked GW1. I was bored. I played GW1 again. I really liked GW1 a lot. I got 33 points in the HoM, because I liked GW1 a lot. I got GW2.
I do agree, in that specific case, you’re better off looking for a guild that specifically focuses on dungeons (although currently every guild that recruits is PvX even though they really only focus on one thing, which is either WvW or getting Influence).
And yes, I’m lumping every guild together (even the guilds that don’t do just those two), because most guilds just do those two things.
Ah okay thanks. It could be DR hitting your 60 gain. I’m not entirely sure, because I don’t swap for CoF (only times I have swapped were at AC, which was just to get 60 instead of 20).
I dislike having Male Arah shoulders on my Female Asura. It’s not like it’s going to change my body and give me breasts!
Thief is strong against people who aren’t expecting you and/or don’t know how to play against you. The main problem with a Thief is that it’s relatively useless against a player that knows how to play against you because you won’t be able to get anything in. If you’re just going to do a trullzy roam pick off one person/flip camps, Thief is a good choice (especially if they’re Thief). Duo-Thief is a really nasty combo, able to kill a lot of other small groups (4 and smaller) with little risk (stealth + res, stealth + escape, etc). If you want to deal damage more than supporting your friend, pick Thief. (You will still have some support.)
Guardian doesn’t have much mobility, but if you’re running with, say, an Ele (kinda awkward, huh?) you can get 100% Swiftness uptime. (Can do the same with a Mesmer, or actually any profession, but Centaur Runes + Mesmer = <3.) From there, Guardians have a lot of flexibility in builds to be able to go tanky, squishy, etc. If you want to support your friend more than deal damage, pick Guardian. (You will still have some damage.)
Mesmers will have low mobility out of combat (easily increased via runes, yes RUNES). They have very good support and damage, but require a lot of micro-managing and positioning. Mesmers will go well with most other professions in a duo-roam setup, but will require a lot of practice (expect to fail again… and again… and again… and again…). Mesmers can easily go full-squishy while tanking harder than a Thief (and sometimes even a Guardian). This is because they have a lot of damage mitigation at their disposal, meaning they can avoid damage entirely (other than conditions on them). If you’re not sure whether you want to deal damage or support more than the other, go ahead and pick Mesmer, but be prepared to play a piano with your keyboard.

If you want the fastest way to level up, power through zones at your level, fighting mobs your level (or a tad bit higher). Never get downleveled and try to kill when doing Hearts instead of just interacting with objects.
If you’re too underleveled through this method, go back and finish map completing zones (specifically zones near your level) to get large boosts of experience.
There are bugs when character changing only gives you 30 tokens except you wait a full 5+ minutes before your group joins in the next run.
I don’t think I understand your sentence in any regard. Could you please re-write it for me?
Are you finishing the combo or dropping a field? I think you have to do the finisher, not him.
Guardians do not have a 25% run speed signet. They do, however, have easily available swiftness applications and leaps (you can also use Sword teleport as a Mesmer blink if you are able to position well and know your ranges).
how my 5yo $10 dollar mouse is still fully functional after playing this game for almost a year is totally beyond me.
Heh I still use the original keyboard I got with my very first computer 10+ years ago simply because it has features on it (all the music options you get with standard players like mute, next song etc) that I can’t seem to find on newer keyboards. Funny thing is I have had 3-4 new comps since then too lol.
Oh gosh, I have that on my integrated keyboard and I hate using external keyboards (but I’m using an external right now) just for that reason.
The amount of sighing I’m doing is making me look like the Sleeping Beauty right after she bit the apple.
That was snow white.

psuedo-meta-sarcasm
?
Shush you, I’ll fix it.
Pseudo-meta-sarcasm is fake sarcasm relating to itself. In this case, I took someone’s serious thread and re-applied it in a satirical method. It’s sarcastic in regards to the overall message being sarcasm (more ironic, though). It relates to itself in regards to removing PvP from a PvP zone because there’s PvP occurring.
The overall message, to put it bluntly and in a shortened method for the people who aren’t capable of inferring messages (cough remember literature classes? This is where it comes in handy/shows how well your teachers were! cough), is:
People make silly complaints.
Heritage Masque. Found in Hall of Monuments after achieving 6 points in the Hall of Monuments from GW1. (You only need to get 3 points, technically, since linking gives you 3 points.
An LFG tool is going to be released very soon™. GW2LFG is the best bet for finding a dungeon group. If you are having problems finding a group with that, I would suggest either constantly updating your “lfg” by adding a . or removing said . (or other information).
Either that, or simply look to join groups instead of forming your own.
Your*.
And I’m surprised I haven’t been warned or banned for clicking ridiculously fast for a lot of mindless tasks, such as buying Alcohol and then drinking Alcohol. Thirst Slayer, I will get you another day…
I’m surprised Player Character didn’t catch on. He should have recognized me by now.
I wasn’t surprised by Pure Heart thinking I was serious, though.
It’s not that hard to count.
You go from the bottom.
Tier 1.
The one right above the bottom one is…
Tier 2.
The one above that (if it is there) is…
Tier 3.
And lastly, the uppermost one will be…
Tier 4 (or whatever is the highest tier you’ve gotten to).
WAUGHAOWHOGHA so intenz
The amount of sighing I’m doing is making me look like the Sleeping Beauty right after she bit the apple.
@Deimos, that is the current implementation, not a suggested implementation.
You can do Tier 2, Tier 2 + Tier 4, Tier 4. But if you do the higher of the tiers (2 before 1 or 4 before 3) then the lower one won’t count (1/3) so you’ll have to do the higher one again.
Yes, let’s take the smaller parts of an example literally. If you would like, I’ll replace CoF P1 with Arah P3, happy?
The shoulder doesn’t have wings. But the armor you’re talking about is the Radiant Armorset obtainable through getting Achievement Points (rewarded every 3000 points).
It’s a little more complicated than that. It’s something more along the lines of psuedo-meta-sarcasm. It shows the irony in some of the ridiculously threads in this forum asking for things that are just plain silly. I would have thought that someone would have gotten it, someone usually does…
Are you sure you have Direct Support completed (100%)?
Okay, how twitch-reactive of a player are you? If you have played a game like DotA, HoN, LoL, BLC, etc, would you say you were a good player or did you quit because you never got into it (cough you kept dying cough)?
If you would consider yourself a reactive player, feel free to play Engineer. Otherwise, Necromancer requires a bit of awareness. Guardian requires a somewhat patient attitude (a lot of people will expect unreal things from you). Warrior is pretty much point and click.
In WvW, they’re all strong. In PvP, they’re all strong. In PvE (with pugs), Warriors and Guardians are great. In non-pug groups, you can be whatever you want.
People these days don’t understand. Read this, please.
So you want PvP removed in ALL of WvW just so there is no PvP in the Jumping Puzzle?
You want to make a game mode completely pointless, Just so you can do a jumping puzzle without dying…
You probably should have renamed your thread to:Take out PvP in WvW Jumping Puzzles
and retyped your post to something that was relevant to the title (The one I suggested, not yours)
Then it might actually be a viable suggestion and not one that people will laugh at you for.
Okay, go to that link. Now read my OP. Now read that OP. Congratulations.
I think that they should implement DPS golems in either WvW or major cities to allow players to test their damage (could even be personal instance).
