It’s impossible if you wipe once. A ton of recluses spawn that can’t be reflected and never despawn. If you fail the first time you might as well restart the dungeon (terrible design I know).

I joined a group that had wiped a few times.
We wiped a few times, then we beat it.

Easiest method, have everyone stand out of range of the tree, one person runs forward and aggros spiders with a range auto attack. Kill spiders. Keep doing this until you can auto attack the tree without aggroing spiders.

Stay at max range near the tunnel entrance, when the fist hits the ground, say 1 out loud, then roll twice. Proceed to drop reflects and condition removals as needed while having 2 people clear up spiders that spawn.

Rinse and repeat.

So… for people who missed the events, they’re getting rewarded by getting all 3 for a cheaper price than the people who were there at the events. Seems legit.

Oh, mine was referring to simple explosions caused via technological and scientific advancement, not the Thaumanova Reactor.

The UI pulls from your OS’s default font. You might want to revert that back to something like Arial, if you did change it.

Apprentice Gear, also known as Frayed Gear (starter gear), the armor that Light Classes start with. You can preview and/or buy it at any Armorsmith Vendor, it’s the white items shown there.

If you want to buy it, it’s cheaper to buy it off the Trading Post (by about 200%).

The general idea is that you grab the character you have the item soulbound to, then transmute the item’s appearance into a white item. Since whites can’t be soulbound, the resulting item is account bount, then you can just put it in the bank, grab it with another character, and transmute it to an item with the stats you want, which will soulbind it to the new character.

One caveat, though… AFAIK the only back items that work with this (might be wrong, I hope) are the ones that come with the gem store quaggan backpacks, so you might need to buy one to transfer a back item.

You can also get it off the Backpack Sets in the trading post. Make sure you buy a set and not a cover. Those are about 2g a pop, so it’s not too bad.

Currently, every backpack except my fractal backpacks are accountbound and level 0 (except the Southsun ones). I also have every backpack in the game except the Guild Backpacks, the Fractal Capacitor (glowing), Rox’s Quiver, and the Book/Quiver from Mystic Forge. (I also threw away my non-flaming Halloween backpack. Tear)

I’m quite sure the Living Story will progress with either Abbadon or the Thaumanova Chaos Energy creating a rip through the Fractals and corrupting the world for a short time while players must fix the mess, both in and outside of the fractal.

First off, Attack is a stat that should be ignored.
The true Attack is equal to Power * Weapon Damage (listed on your weapon). This is a number that goes ridiculously high, so it’s reasonable that it’s not listed.

In regards to actual stats…

Base Stats:

Power: This stat increases your damage by a direct amount. Since the equation for damage (before criticals) is equal to Power * Weapon Damage * Skill Damage Co-efficient, then this stat increases your damage output directly.
Precision: This stat increases your chance to critically hit. This stat is also shown in the Critical Chance area, after the formula for critical chance is calculated. Keep that in mind. At level 80, ~21 precision is 1% crit chance. They also use floats which means that you will retain your decimal crit chance, so it’s not necessary to get to a precision that’s divisible by 21. This stat directly increases your chance to critically strike.
Toughness: This stat is the inverse of Power. Instead of adding damage, this reduces damage taken. In regards to the damage formula, you’ll take their Attack (not the Attack listed in your hero panel, but the derived Attack as seen in the Power section) and divide it by your Toughness + Armor (actually Defense, but w/e). This will give you the amount of damage you’ll take, before counting in other modifiers (such as boons and traits). This stat is directly reduces (non-condition) damage you take.
Vitality: This stat increases your health by 10 per point. Note that this stat is the defense for conditions as it gives you a higher health pool for the conditions to tick, whereas armor/toughness gets bypassed by conditions.

Secondary Stats:
Condition Damage: Yeah, sorry this guy is a secondary attribute, sadly. This stat acts as a modifier for damage that conditions deal. Each condition has their own scaling ratio, which is relatively low. It multiplies condition damage and adds that number to the base damage (based on your level), to figure out how much damage it will deal each tick.
Condition Duration: Self-explanatory. This stat improves the duration of your conditions by X%, where X is how much Condition Duration you have. A maximum of 100% for each condition is in place (it’s possible to reach 100% on multiple conditions).
+Boon Duration: Similar to Condition Duration, this stat improves the duration of boons you give to yourself/other players by X%, where X is how much Boon Duration you have. A maximum of 100% for each boon is in place (it’s possible to reach 100% on multiple boons, and even have a total of +100% boon duration for all boons).
+Healing Power: This stat improves healing based on Regeneration and other such effects. It also improves the effectiveness of heals from skills such as your #6. Anything that heals you or others, this typically improves that. Note that this can’t get very high as opposed to other stats.
Critical Damage: Every character has an inherent critical damage, from there, what’s listed in your hero panel is the additional damage you’ll crit, added to 150%. If I have +86% critical damage in my panel, then I’ll deal 236% damage on my crits.

Equipment Stats:

Magic Find: Increases the chance of higher tier items dropping (not necessarily rarer/more expensive items). If you have 100% magic find, then you’ll have a 2x chance of getting most items. (Layman definition, not quite that simple.)
+Agony Resist: For each 5 points in AR, you will take 6% less damage from Agony.

Account Stats: (yes, I know MF will go here soon)

Gold Find: Improves money found off of bodies and bodies only. Improved by Gold Find .
Karma Gain: Improves karma from all sources. Improved by Karma Gain %.
Experience Gain: Improves experience from kills and kills only. Improved by XP gain %. Food and Nourishment improve this by 10 or 15%, even if they just say +10 experience on kill (that’s just +10%).

Note: Ice Creams give +5% Karma, unlike other foods.

Why not just have Compounding Celerity also grant Mesmers 25% movement speed while ooc if ooc for 5 seconds (means you have to have 15s of not getting hit for it to activate). This will allow us to move long distances, but won’t give us an overpowered in-combat movespeed boost.

I think you can also talk to people via the /me command. I’m not sure about that though.

That gives you the report option.

The way to get in a party with them is to target them, then click the party arrow (> at the top left) and click Invite. It’ll invite your target, even if you don’t have their account name. From there, you can, if they accept the invite, PM them as you now have their account name.

Afaik, they have never done a name cleanse in Guild Wars 1 and I doubt they would in this game. They assume people are going to come and go. Why annoy someone who they hope will come back by taking their name(s) away?

They did do the freeing up of GW1 names that were “reserved” for a long time. That’s the closest they’ve came.

I rock an Asura Mesmer and I always thought Technobabble was terrible since it was just Signet of Domination without the passive while off cooldown and with a daze instead of a stun. You also couldn’t trait it.

Then I realized, during the T4 Candidate Trials (solo), that it was instant-cast. It is my new favorite on-demand interrupt.

For leveling, however, I used Radiation Field. When in dungeons and unsure of what 3rd utility to run, I grab Pain Inverter. For elites, I’ll rock Defensive Golem for a Shield of Absorption (it casts it 2-3 times if it lasts full duration). The SoA is similar to the Shield of Avenger (hah SoA again), in that it doesn’t knockback but simply destroys projectiles (although it might reflect, not 100% sure).

Celestial gear is clearly the live test for concepts behind the coming ascended crafting (400-500), which has been stated, will be heavily time-gated as well.

This makes sense.

I would laugh so hard if it took a year to get a full set of armor and weapons.

So because it takes 45 days to get a full exotic/ascended combination set of Celestial (not including backpiece which doesn’t exist), it’ll take a year to get a full ascended armorset. Seems legit.

I doubt they’ve added new words to their filter, they just need to make a filter that checks against a list of words that are considered bad, then add a parser that will take out spaces and convert all iterations to the same case (upper/lower/1337speak). It’s a simple program that introductory courses typically cover (the ideals, that is, not the actual code for a swear filter).

A few problems with the swear filter are that the word f’in comes before f’ing, which means if you type f’ing, it’ll appear as —-—-g ingame. Also, some unintentional words are swear, such as ingame the word “aids” is considered a swear word, possibly for it’s reference to the STD. This means that you cannot type “That guy aids others!” without getting swear filtered (luckily it’s an optional filter). Additionally, the word Aids is not considered an inappropriate word during character creation, so you can potentially have a name that has -’s in it while typing with a swear filter on.

And no, this isn’t the QA team’s fault. There’s only so much that any team can test before a product goes live. Additionally, these are such specific cases that it’s unfair to blame either QA or the dev team’s.

The reason why you shouldn’t blame dev team’s for this is that you’ll typically have multiple dev teams working on different parts of a project instead of having one guy who knows how everything works and can accommodate it perfectly. (Now if they had the same guy write all of the swear filter/inappropriate code for both the website and ingame [which requires a lot more programming effort and actually hinders the pipeline], then you’d see a lot more consistency. Good luck ever funding that and having it released in a realistic time-frame.)

With that, let’s end this discussion about the swear filter. It’s off-topic and meaningless.

Again, he didn’t save the world. He prevented pirates from getting bullied by Ash Legion troops because that’s not the Ash Legion way. He’s still doing what he went to Lion’s Arch for, which is to take money from pirates.

I thougt, that it was obvious, that i was exaggerating, but anyway. It doesnt change anything. If it wasnt for Evon, lion arch would have been in ruins, and he even showed different aspect of war for chars. You dont have to fight to live good. Even though he getting money – he gives smth, that we all need. And it is good for both.

Warbands typically have five to ten members, but can grow up to twenty. When a warband becomes large enough, the legionnaire splits the warband into two separate warbands.

I have to agree with Crovax about this. I have also been averaging about 40g per million karma. With 1 million karma I got about 25g from Unidentified Objects alone, then the rest of the money you make depends on what lodestones you get.

Again, I spent 1.7m karma and got ~8g back from unid objects.

I’m not complaining, I’m just stating that you might be overstating the amount you made.

I’m also not saying that this is a bad method of using excess karma (I still have 1m karma on my main), but I want players who use this method to be informed.

As for the OP and all people who are unsure of whether or not they should buy boxes…

What are you going to spend your karma on?
If you know the answer to that, then you don’t need to buy boxes (or, perhaps, you do).

If you don’t know the answer to that, think about boxes as a (free) stock. It’s something you’re holding onto and it gets more value (more karma) as you adventure. You can cash out whenever you want, or hold it in case new usages for it come available.
