Stealth Should be the Reward

I play a Thief as my main now because of the massive advantage that stealth gives me in PvP and in PvE. I get too hurt in PvE? Pop on an everlasting stealth and let my health regenerate while my enemies’ health doesn’t regenerate. I see an enemy in PvP? Pop on a stealth and chase them down, hurt them significantly, and if they decide to fight back, I pop on another stealth and stab them in the back.

Nice QQ post, Mr. Elementalist.

Ok…got it. But. Do you think, that they so stupid, that char would attk lion arch with only 40 members at best? Its suspisious. Mby, If lion arch refused “protection” agreement, then whole ash legion would have been on the move? Or they had some other plan? Anyway, I still believe, that Evon saved lion arch from alot of trouble. And above that, he gives irreplacable service, that we all need.

Evon saved his warband, not Lion’s Arch. He saved his Warband by taking over it and killing his superior. If that’s an irreplaceable service, then Faolain and pretty much all Story Mode lore bosses are god’s (haha, that’s funny because Baelfireis trying to become a god.

In GW2 you are a nobody. You DO NOT matter!

I agree. I think Colin said “The monsters don’t care if you’re standing there. I fight a monster, it spawns back 10 minutes later. We kill it, and it respawns again. This isn’t the direction we want to take.” Yet, that’s exactly what they did here.

All major dragons spawn, are killed, and respawn later. They really don’t give a single flying crap that I’m there. As far as I can tell, the world hasn’t changed at all because of my actions. The personality types (dignity, charm, ferocity) don’t matter at all when I talk to people, so it doesn’t change anything.

Yes, let’s have Dragon Champions (Lieutenants, to be more precise) that only spawn once… ever. Reminds me of a fight… oh, what was that name… I can’t remember it… OH THAT’S RIGHT, THE Ancient Karka battle. I wonder how well that went.

If you have to ask what there is to do after hitting max level (when you do hit max level), you’re not ready for end game.

@OP – just making sure, you have to complete T1, T2, T3, then T4 all for the same candidate, i.e. Kiel T1 – 4 or Evon T1 – 4, they can’t mix. nor can you go do T1, T2, T3 then back to T2 to help a friend and go do T4.

It’s possible to mix and match, but it’s a bit awkward.
If you do Tier 2, it will set Direct Support to 1/2. You must then do Tier 2 again to complete Direct Support. The same occurs when doing Tier 4 instead of Tier 3.

How so? We are all presented with our very own ore node each time we approach it.
For me it is already mined. For you it is fresh and waiting for you to mine it.

Why couldn’t a statue be different depending on who is looking at it?
For me it is my character made stone. For you it is your character made stone.

It’s not that difficult.

And then players who did not participate? Players who did not exist? Alternative Characters?

I’ve noticed that the goes-back-to-WoW crowd always flocks back to WoW no matter which game it is or for what reason. What they really want is WoW with better graphics.

I think the best method would be to have the boss deal damage according to your real level, not effective level (it wouldn’t be 5k a hit from SB to a level 80, because your effective level is still 14, but you have more stats, so you should take more damage) or make their attacks be % based.

The problem is in WoW you needed BIS gear to do content and in Guild Wars 2 you do not. You can get all the way to a level 20 fractal without needing AR at all if you’re good. And by then you’d have rings and a back piece which you get from doing fractals, so you don’t need an amulet.

That’s assuming you need/want to do the highest level fractals which only a relatively small percentage of players do and people who do are generally grinders anyway.

This is compared to WoW when you were literally locked out of content if you didn’t keep doing those runs each and every week. For example, someone in my guild took a month and a half to get their ascended amulet, took two months off and came back and could play with us again. All the same dungeons. WvW. SPvP.

Try that in WoW. Take six months off, come back and see if you don’t have to play catch up.

I got to Fractal 24 before getting any AR.

It’s also the reason why not using your offhand to attack in your auto attack chain is very common. An offhand weapon isn’t very easy to utilize, being on your non-dominant hand AND possibly getting in the way of your dominant weapon.

Pretend you’re wielding two swords. Now, imagine those swords were full-length swords, meaning they should be a little longer than your hip to the ground, if they were point first at the ground (that’s where the middle of the hilt would be). So you have two pretty large swords which you’re now swinging.

To be able to hit an enemy while protecting yourself WITHOUT hurting yourself or hitting your swords together is an achievement in and of itself.

Ignoring the fact that this is anime, notice how he wields his offhand sword in this video.

If you pay close attention, it’s actually clumsy usage and he tends to hold both swords next to each other and swing with both arms. Even when he starts striking, most of the strikes are done with the dominant arm and ignoring the off-hand.

If you start going into muscle structure and balance, you’d notice that using two swords is very, very ineffective.

Even Miyamoto Musakittenhe legendary samurai who wielded 2 swords, only did that to train for single-sword combat, because it would make your arms stronger for when you held a sword with one hand so you did not need to strike with 2 arms together.

How to turn Alt + TAB off

You’re going into a way to tell the OS to ignore a key command, which is possible, but would require a third party program. There are certain programs that will suppress key commands and only use those keys for themselves while they’re on (looking at you, Mumble, looking at you).

You could also use AutoHotkey to make it so that when you press Alt, it’ll actually press something like Numpad 9 and that Numpad 9 is the keybind for rolling. This way you can use Alt, but then pause/exit the AutoHotkey when not using GW2. The only problem would be you’d have to constantly unpause/turn it on when playing GW2.

^Indeed. Mob tagging vs. mob sharing (mob sharing being my term for Guild Wars 2’s system) is, by itself, enough to rate Guild Wars 2 above almost every other game in the genre. I quit several MMOs just because of how poorly they handled mob tagging, and it is also the main reason I have decided not to play WildStar (unless it is f2p or b2p, and even that is a maybe).

Inb4 it becomes p2w.

Also, don’t forget the unique looting is something that I absolutely love about GW2. No longer do I have to worry about someone else picking up my loot. (I guess this fits in with Mob Sharing, though.)

Upon the first Legendary, you have 100% map completion which gives you 20 Achievement Points for Been There, Done That in addition to another 120 Achievement Points from Ascalon/Shiverpeaks/Maguuma/Krytan/Orr Explorer and, in most cases, Gold Hoarder (Golden Title) for another 40 points.

Sorry to derail, but 100% map completion does not imply Ascalon/Shiverpeaks/Maguuma/Krytan/Orr Explorer. I’ve had 100%, Been There Done That and my Gift of Exploration for many, many months and I don’t think I have any of the Explorer titles completed. There are plenty of little exploration areas with no hearts, skillpoints, waypoints or POIs – many of them associated with jumping puzzles, I think.

So then you have ~50-75 AP from the explorer, not 120.

Im worried the champs will give too much T6 and you’ll have to zerg around a planned path like in Queensdale just to get the non-horrible T6/hour results.

The rewards should reflect the difficulty, and since champions are NOT getting more powerful they should not have a ridiculous increase in rewards to the point that killing normal mobs is for suckers. Currently, yeah champ loot sucks, but it shouldn’t be giving 3 or more T6 per champ.

Quite sure that you’ll get loot based off of the mobs level not your own. They want people to farm Southsun/Orr/Frostgorge more, and not as a farmsquad, but as an exploring squad.

@ Esplen.3940:

Kinda goes against the concept of “this game supports all play styles” then, doesn’t it?

Telling me I have to “suck it up” isn’t exactly “supporting my play style”. It’s telling me I HAVE to play in some manner AGAINST my play style, or tough luck.

In order for this game to live up to it’s promise of “supporting all game styles” it needs to make it so all things are accessible… not necessarily EASILY accessible, but accessible… to all style of play.

To put it even more clearly, if I don’t want to or like to PvP, I don’t have to, and should be able to get almost anything someone who does like and want to PvP can get. I say almost because there are some rewards I would think would be specifically attributed to PvP that a non PvP player shouldn’t expect to get.

But that should be all.

Being a completionist is trying to achieve everything. If you’re trying to achieve everything, you should be willing to do everything. If you aren’t trying to achieve everything, you don’t need to get the WvW achievements. It’s that simple.

So, as long as you actually make your own Legendary instead of buying it on the Trading Post (in which case, you’ll only get 45 points, 40 for Gold Hoarder), you’re actually getting 185 Achievement Points, not including other achievements which you’ll get along the way, such as Jumping Puzzles, Skillful, Emergency Response Hero, Dungeons Discovered, Lifetime Survivor (at least, I’d hope you’d get this), [X] Slayer, [X] Master (weapon master), Active Guild Member, Dailies, Monthlies etc.

Don’t just look at the one achievement you get, look at all the achievements you’ll get on the way to getting it.

I honestly dont get this missing a day means a whole new day of waiting.

lets say you can buy ascended gear using gold, lets say it costs 500g per piece and lets say you can typically make 3g per hour. lets say you can play 8 hrs a day.

There’s the rub. I don’t play 8 hours a day. That’s kittening insane even.

I’m a casual player who has weekends during which I can play more than on a weekday. Since I’m busy I’d rather not play every day of the week, or perhaps play some other games during my limited time. Ideally, I’d probably play only during the weekend. If I started doing that, I’d lose out on 5 laurels a week. That would significantly increase the amount of time before I can fully equip my character, my alts, and get alternative sets.

I’m an ACTUAL casual player, and asking casuals to play every day is crazy. Instead of Dailies, give me Weeklies that I can work on during the weekend where I actually have time. Or better yet, get rid of the time-gated content.

You have monthlies. They give 10 laurels.

Voila, now you only need to play 10 days a month (do 10 dailies and finish the monthly in those 10 days).

There are 4 weeks in a month.

There are 4 weekends in a month.

There are 2.5 days in a weekend.

There are 10 days you can play during the weekends of every month.

You only need to play 10 days to get 20 Laurels.
