Turn on Fast Cast Ground Targeting.
Pressing a key will cast it where your mouse is.
Thank you. It’s so much nicer to see a timestamp + daystamp than a “week ago” “month ago”.
If you don’t know what I’m talking about, look at the top right of this post and note that it will say Today 02:58 (if you view it today).
I don’t need to quote Mr. Jim. The video is right there for all to watch and/or listen to.
Actually you do need to quote him if multiple people have watched the video and not been able to connect the dots. It tends to give you a reasonable argument instead of just saying “go watch more of his videos and read a summary of a video” when we watched the video…
Anywhere you can get a constant supply (preferably an uninterrupted large circle) of mobs to kill. Don’t worry about bonus experience as you won’t get that (unless you make a roundtrip across a map, but that’s risky).
Then please, quote Mr. Jimquisition, instead of thrusting the entirety of his career at me.
I saw nothing in his video that pertained to GW2.
You sure it wasn’t Sword/X + Y/Sword?
What makes it a great MMO, is an f2p system that is not an obnoxious pile of crap.
GW2 does have a few positives, however, it has a long ways to go before being considered a “great” MMO. As for it being F2P, well, simply because it’s F2P does not automatically mean it’s F2P done right. This pretty much sums up GW2’s F2P model.
That video actually has nothing to do with GW2’s F2P model. That’s exactly why I think it’s great. If the game is still profitable with this model, it’s f2p done right.
The video discusses the F2P model. It’s very much applicable to GW2. Now, whether you believe it to be otherwise is a moot point. Chocking content and corralling the user base to dip into RMH systems is far from F2P done right. As I’ve already mentioned, GW2 has a lot going for it, notwithstanding its current F2P model.
That video is talking about pay to win inside of ‘fee to pay’ models.
GW2 is not pay to win unless you call converting gems → gold winning (which is quite horrible at that, since it’s ~$50 to hit max level. You don’t pay to allow yourself to get more Charged Quartz Crystals or Laurels or to reset your daily chests. You can’t pay to do that.
Under each skill is a bar. If the bar is red, they’re out of range.
Speed boosts don’t stack. If you have swiftness and stealth speed, your swiftness is useless as the stealth speed is > swiftness boost.
There’s more to Tyria than what’s on the map. The map is just all that’s been cartographed (from our endeavors in GW1).
Pretty much. I don’t know of any server that doesn’t have the Queensdale run.
Yes and yes and nobody knows.
Perhaps we should take off the tin hats and put on the logic hats to make sense of this.
It’s not a bug, if you perceive it as a bug, then you should probably stop exploiting the game by looting things.
Check out the dyealogue.
Centaurs will drop a Centaur bag.
Bandits will drop a Bandit bag.
Each one of these will have their own unique weapons, such as one of the new Fellblades, or the Aetherblade Sword (Rapier, to be precise).
Ahh, I thought you meant UW just with more current-age graphics.
It’s pretty hard for me to understand why there’s a problem. I play the game for 8 hours a day, at least, and there’s so much for me to do that I don’t feel limited in any form or way.
I want the Fall of Dhuum fractal (rise of Grenth).
To see the GW2 interpretation of UW would rock so hard.
Actually, this would be pre-GW1 UW where we have the 7 Reapers (and Grenth) taking down Dhuum.
I honestly don’t see the issue. People are allowed to do what they want to do when they want to do it.
Jewelcrafting, Cooking, Artificing
I feel like people forget how useful Ascended actually are… not really that useful at all. The difference in stats is so negligible that food provide more stats.
I want the Fall of Dhuum fractal (rise of Grenth).
It should say “Gain up to 400 Toughness” because of that.
and everything you pointed out is exactly the same for the abbadon fractal exept that lore wise nothing new would be added.
…are you arguing for the sake of arguing ?
I basically said that they could do anything they wanted with TR, and you say they can do the same thing with Abaddon ?
But like you pointed it out, they can’t. We know enough thing about it to prevent them from doing something lazy. There isn’t a single thing we currently have in game that they can use for Abaddon Fall (monsters, environnement).
But TR ? Inquest inquest inquest and dragon spawn. And maybe, just maybe, a thing symbolizing chaos energy.
I don’t think we’d be fighting against the Inquest in the fractal. If we were, we’d most likely be the ones causing the explosion.
Do you understand the problem here?
Yes, you are annoyed that someone with loads of free time to play, and therefore is so much better than a more casual player, is forced to go at the pace of the casual player.
Did I get that right?
Close enough.
Here’s another example using real world comparison.
Two people work the same job at the same pay, however the company has a policy that you only get paid for the the first 30 minutes of working. After that, no one would continue to stay there, obviously. You are limited to only 30 minutes of paid work a day.
Now, what if someone wanted to work 8 hours a day instead? Well, too bad. You only get to work 30 minutes today. Well, what if I have more than 30 minutes available today? Too bad, because other employees can only work for 30 minutes, then everyone can only work for 30 minutes.
It is quite simple. People get paid for the amount of work they do. If you think a person who works for 30 minutes deserves the same pay as someone who works for 8 hours, well, I would just laugh in your face.
Except that’s not how GW2 is. I can keep playing after 30 minutes and keep getting rewarded. Sure, I don’t get more Laurel/Charged Quartz Crystal, but I can still get more of other items.
It’s more of a “the first 30 minutes of working everyday will get you a free lollipop. After that, you have to wait another day for a lollipop.”
They took my money and left me wanting more, which they gave for free.
I don’t get what the OP is saying? does he think he works at Anet?
It’s a bit late to start working on content to be released in less than a month. Unless we want Lost Shores all over again.
Each crafting profession, when gained from level 0-400, will give 10 levels. With the upcoming change to add 100 more levels (up to 500), the current system will most likely grant players 15 levels instead of 10 levels to get to max.
Keep in mind that these are not cheap endeavors. The cheapest craft to get to max is currently around 6-7g.
Also, levels 1-15 are the “noob” levels, as they are exempt from the level formula (hand-crafted experience requirements) such that they are easier to level up in, therefore making crafting during these levels a waste of time (unless you’re really rich and don’t want to spend time playing).
Do you understand the problem here?
Yes, you are annoyed that someone with loads of free time to play, and therefore is so much better than a more casual player, is forced to go at the pace of the casual player.
Did I get that right?
Myself and others have suggested that they could fix the problem of being able to play daily by allowing 7 “dailies” to be done once a week, whether it’s all in a single day’s play session or spread out over the week.
But I’m expecting a new argument how that’s still unfair to you.
But my dog died so I was gone for my one day a week of playing. Can’t they extend it to a month?
But my aunt died so I was gone for my one day a month of playing. Can’t they extend it to a year?
But my job got harder so I was gone for my one day a year of playing. Can’t they extend it…?
/sarcasm
Inb4 they’re 400-500 crafted. ;D
Guild Bounty/Puzzle areas?
But what were the inquest researching? Who/what caused the explosion? Considering a fractal is being built, it’s most likely not just a failed experiment.
I feel like you play a warrior to even suggest that there is no support.
There is plenty of support. Have you done high level fractals? Support is what keeps the party alive. The “GW2 trinity” is Support/Damage/Control, of which you can HAVE MULTIPLES.
In fact, the best way of utilizing this trinity is to be 2 of the 3 prongs. This means being Support + Damage or Support + Control is better than being Support alone.
Being Damage + Support is better than being Damage alone.
If you fail to realize that, you need to get your head out of your WvW zerg and play the game.
While I agree that we don’t have the context of the fight, we know the gist of the lore, so I’d much rather get the Thaumanova, where we only know speculation.
Lore of the Fall of Abbadon:
ahahahahaha!
IN YOUR FACE THAISEERAN. CRY MORE.
VOTE KIEL! A VOTE FOR KIEL IS A VOTE FOR PROGRESS!!
This is a bit over the top. I don’t expect everyone to go to the GW1Wiki just to get lore information.
Personally.. and this may be a VERY bad idea or a good one, up to you guys, but I would like to see something like torment done, it does a base damage tick, like any other condition. But the ticks don’t require skill use it ticks for a certain amount any way and then when they use a skill. its just extra damage. Makes it so it doesn’t hit outlandishly hard when they use a skill. But makes it so it is still a reasonable condition.
Why not have it tick 1x per second, but if/when they’re casting, it ticks 2x a second. Additional bonus damage upon completing of a skill. Stacks intensity.
Keep in mind, this would render the damage from Confusion to not be a nuke in any form or way, but put the damage into a way so it’s more pressure, similar to Torment.
The damage from Confusion ticks would be equal to half a bleed stack, so if they’re casting it’s essentially X more bleed stacks. Cast/Attack finish damage would be less than the current damage of Confusion.

I got LDoA from the Christmas (I think) capturing Aatxes essences or something or other.
If you type the same lines it will register it as spam. Make sure you not type more than 3 times in the same minute (there are bypasses around this, but for the layman, 3 times a minute is the most) and make sure that they are spaced out, so you don’t type 3x in 10 seconds.
AND make sure you don’t press up→enter or type the same thing. Say “are there any events?” “any events” “events?” etc
With the new system, your color is random.
If your world is unable to capture their sides of the map, perhaps you could, you know, try helping them.
I’ll explain you slowly:
- Casual players of the game itself, will probably in major part vote in Kiel. (Good person, WP reduced, and also a good fractal for a real Gw2 lore)
- Actually, 75% of players in game don’t uses foruns, so, its obviously that the number of Kiel likers in foruns are lesser. They are more happy playing the game, and not complaining about ever all contentes released.
- The non-changing in the polls its obvious. As the poll had been at 52/48 at half of the content, it probably would not change at all. The very same people voting in kiel will continue voting on kiel. The very same people voting in Gnahs will not change thir votes.Well, Had not any need to ever be complaining about all. I’m siding with kiel, because of the personality of both candidates , also because of the WP reduced (I don’t buy keys too), and of course because of the TR fractal. I’m pretty sure that presence a fight with abaddon probably should be cool, But I already know what happens, and How it happens. TR its a gw2 threat actually present in the Gw2 timeline, and for sure I don’t even know what happened there.
How would you know, how Abaddon was exiled, it’s not like we’ve seen it before, all we know is that the other 5 gods outcasted him. And if you’re thinking about how Abaddon was defetead in Nightfall, well the Fall of Abaddon is 1000 years earlier.
Actually, most games aren’t made with the capacity of copying Guild War 2’s gameplay.
Neverwinter (F2P by PWI) tried to copy it, they had a roll system where each class had a unique roll to their character, but it was just a roll (mages would “teleport”, thievs would roll, etc, etc, etc). What most games don’t/won’t have are fluid combat systems.
Even looking at Wildstar, the “upcoming behemoth”, I’m skeptical. It looks like SMITE the MMO.
GW2 will have time to add onto their ideas whereas other games will have to recreate and perfect them. Remember that GW2 hasn’t been out for a year yet. Most games [should] take at least 2 years to develop (the base game, that is, including the engine). To add what GW2 has isn’t that simple.
As for the Trinity,Rezzing,Looting,Zerging… those are mostly opinions/mob mentality.
Not having a trinity is one of the best things to happen to GW2, imo. If GW2 had specific classes, it’d be a pain to get into dungeons. The open world PvE would also be a pain and so would Personal Storyline. You’d have people begging for tanks/dps/healers just to do their storyline.
The res system is fine, I think. It allows players to choose between putting themselves in danger to save others or to let them fall. It’s somewhat similar to ressing (which typically has a long cast time that forces you to stand still), so I don’t see how this is a problem.
Underwhelming loot is being fixed. I feel like you haven’t read the recent news.
Vayne, stop inventing stuff.

People never believe you until you bring down the fury of the heavens onto them to show them the light. Then they just turn their backs to the light of truth.
500 Condition Damage: 400 Damage
1,000 Condition Damage 900 Damage
1,500 Condition Damage 1,200 DamageYou mean 1000 CD 800 D
I meant that with 1,000 Condition Damage the damage done by Confusion would be 900 per a skill they use. Of course this math isnt 100% correct and its just used as an example.
500 CD —> 400 Damage.
1500 CD —> 1200 Damage
500 CD = 400 Damage (Check)
500 * 3 = 400 * 3
1500 = 1200
1500 CD —> 1200 Damage (Check)
1000 CD —> 900 Damage
500 * 2 = 400 * 2
1000 = 800 (Not check)
They will not be achievable.
