Best Warrior Healing Skill?

I’m a shout warrior (with full knights gear) and since I always WvW I use mending.
I absolutely love the condition removal (since I already heal with shouts).
In total I have Mending (cures 2 + heals), Shake it off (cures 2 or 3, never really checked), and For Great Justice (1), all on short cooldowns Then as my lest utility I have Endure Pain for those “Oh shi-” moments where you need to escape.

Have you tried out Fear Me? It’s a pretty agressive shout.
It’s versatility is amazing to no end, really. Even so i’m not always using it due to it’s high cooldown(only drawback).
Also, Shake it Off is a stun breaker plus condition removal. It only removes one condition(but for everyone around you as well, plus up to 2 with soldier runes – I still find it pretty overhyped because of other great abilities)

BLAHBLAHBLAHBLAHBLAH I DIDNT READ YOUR POST I JUST WANT TO WRITE SOMETHING
(gag on you)

Let’s begin the criticism.
I’ve read your text twice through and used search on it with key words “Healing Surge”.
It didn’t find any. You compared mending to healing signet, found out that situationally signet may heal more. Then you put down argument about active if traited but contradicted yourself by getting 9% crit chance instead in the same spot.
So…. You are constantly on high adrenaline. And you don’t want condition removal.
Well, it seems that you are still not aware about existense of following healing spell for warriors which you completely trampled and skipped over in my text:
Healing Surge.
I’m pretty sure I even put down how much healing it gives… compared to signet.
How about you go check that out? I would be very grateful.
Oh ~ and if you don’t mind and you play on europe server, we could meet each other in PvP. I give free education lessons for warriors.

mending or healing surge.
I’m not really considering healing signet. Even if you consider that you do not stay on 100% at all times, the healing is still much worse than healing surge. How the hell is that good, especially considering that surge can be used to restore adrenaline?
Actually, now let’s leave that aside. Signet gives you 200 HP/S. Using active is not considered, because well, that’s kinda foolish? healing power does not help the solution at all – HS and mending scale 1:1 while signet scales as HPx0.033, which means 30 seconds to take the same effect as others(same as healing surge, worse than mending)
200 health per second.
Versus 5560 on-demand(you can use full potential instead of only when you are not full, note that.) that clears 2 conditions as well every 25 seconds.
Mending heals more. While clearing conditions just as well.
Healing surge heals more, but it’s kinda kinky… The healing is around same on S1 adrenaline( a bit in favor of signet, 5840 VS 6000, and don’t give me your arguments how you are not going to use it right off the CD, because same goes for signet which doesn’t give full efficiency when you are full), higher on S2 and S3 but lower on S0.
Well, it is also an adrenaline replenisher. You can efficiently use it as a superior heal, or you can use it as a slightly weaker heal that helps you to regenerate adrenaline.
Now, given how amazing healing surge and mending are, signet stands no chance. Want more healing? You choose between mending and healing surge. Yes, even despite signet only does healing while surge and mending give other benefits.
TL:DR
Signet: 200 HP/S – passive. 166 HP/S – active
Mending: 222.4 HP/S.
Healing Surge:
S0: 174 2/3 HP/S
S1: 196 HP/S
S2: 228 HP/S
S3: 281 1/3 HP/S
Healing Power works in favor of Mending while being same for signet and surge.
Burst healing – Healing Surge is the winner.
Sustained healing – Healing Surge is the winner.
Adrenaline Hunger – Healing Surge is the winner.
In need of conditional removal – Mending is the winner.
Want to be a noob – Healing Signet is the winner.
Note: the fact that surge and mending require a 1s casttime is not a counterargument.
It’s very minor to be one.

why do people hate magic find?

I’m against magic find.
You do less and get more for doing less.
Is that really a philosophy of this game?
Think about it.
A slight note to a person above me, you are an idiot of first class wrong. Whoever runs protective stats, he protects his team because these stats(toughness in particular) give him aggro and pull monsters towards him(while healing power heals his teammates… kinda?) In the end he dies the first if something goes wrong… And pay s more for repairs, in no way less.

GS WvW Mandatory Traits

in Warrior

Posted by: Evalia.7103

Evalia.7103

While you will be surprised, I’m going ahead and saying that 20 in offense is not quite a must for GS.
10 is enough – just think about what you get by putting 10 more.
You get extra dodge on using burst. Well, how often do you use burst on GS?
you get extra 10% damage on GS. Sweet! But isn’t there anything better?
100 power is pretty meh given the tons of might you are going to have. Not such a big increase in damage at all. 10% condition duration is not so good either.
So what could you take instead?
30 in arms. It’s a wvw build, you have any idea how awesome 4 seconds of quickness is when you get opponent below 25%? It’s an amazing finisher(or rampage card if you are in 1vsX situation) that’s more than worth 5 points.
Now, I get Bad Link whenever I try to go to check out your build, but I imagine 10 in tactics are there for immobilize on bladetrail. It is awesome. In fact, I’m using a special synergy flake with my runes for ultimate burst(20 in tactics; empowered plus lyssa runes = 6 seconds of +18% damage increase. Crazy for bursting down, and stat benefits are amazing from this line as well. Naturally i assist this with leg specialist…).
But you may not choose to use them, it’s just me. However you’ve put points in defense… what for could that be?
I have no idea about your (10) trait in it. Adrenal health is kinda weak… 325 HP every 3 seconds on full adrenaline. little more than 100 HP/S in combat while on full adrenaline. Do you know about omnomberry ghost? This food does triple, no, quadruple the healing(while also doing same amount of damage to enemies).
I’m currently running 10/30/0/20/10 and considering 20/30/0/20 instead.
I’m comparing benefits of 10 in discipline and extra 10 in strength… I’m currently leaning more into strength(10 in discipline = 10% crit damage 9% crit chance and minor trash benefits(1% burst damage and 1/2 adrenaline bar on weapon switch -_-), versus 10% GS damage, 100 power, 10%condition duration(more immobilize for example, as well as possibly more fear or whatever) and possible situational extra dodge)… But if you could spare 15 points in discipline or even 20, it would be awesome for mobile strikes(or maybe determined revival, in around 40% cases i’m able to get that vengeance and hack something down but still die in the end.)
and faster weapon switch.
So I can’t really designate good places where to put traits. I would like to run something like 20/30/0/20/20 for my build to be honest. Just need 20 extra traits. I wouldn’t consider something else for greatsword to be honest. I think defense is a bit too weak compared to others as of now – unless we are talking about more specific traits which do not affect greatsword unfortunately.

just QQ, this thread shows nothing else.
You have to realise that you can grab precursor from moneymaking machine(what you c all mystic toilet). That aside, precursor was the easiest part of my legendary. I spent just 250 G crafting my dawn.
And according to people talk THAT was pretty unlucky.
Amount of time killed on gift of mastery(coupled with gift of fortune clovers)… it was ridiculous. So much skillpoints. Gift of sunrise price – around 500 G I guess.
So go go go. precursor is the easiest part, and you still complain about it.
Although it’s pretty true that it’s quite sad that you can’t obtain it reliably yourself.
But GL&HF farming 100 charged lodestones by yourself. Pretty much the same thing.

How Do I PvP as a Warrior?

Please guys, have you ever played warrior??? Strongest build 1v1 is axe + mace / mace + shield. GS is good for better aoe and mobility, but axe mace is just 2good for 1v1 (so much cc and imba axe “1”).

I would pick main-hand sword over mace ALL DAY in such build.
1v1 it is maybe better, but you are a real SNAIL because of complete lack of gap closers.
Mace control abilities are decent, but sword flurry is godlike because its 4+ sec immobilize.
I could see that build getting ranged and kited to death pitifully, to be honest. If it would be 1v1.

All Warrior Weapons need in your face moves

Evalia.7103

I got a slight solution for you that i currently run. Use sword/Shield + GS and make sure you get fast hands and use signet of stamina + Bull rush. 5 gap closer (Whirlwind/Rush/Shield bash/Savage Leap/Bull rush). If you get mobility trait in discipline, you cant’ get stopped by immobilize. Its how i run my dueling build. More dodge rolls + swiftness from signet of rage, 5 dashes and still have great chasing abilities on low cooldown. Key is to abuse weapon switch as often as possible to maximize the gap closers.

Otherwise i agree we don’t have many skills that stick you out enemy target.

^
Actually that’s very cruel and lets you dance around your opponent when he runs on full speed unless he’s a thief desperately shadowstepping with shortbow or air ele with daggers.
That aside, sword+shield is my main offset(mainset is GS) for wvw. Not only mobility, but damage combination of flurry>HB is awesome.

Signet is the same, for 50% uptime is what you want to tell me.
But banner is the same but for 25% uptime(actually more), yet for entire party.
25×5 > 50×1. or something like that.
Plus, resurrect effect which is precious. And he doesn’t benefit all that much from excess might/fury since he’s focused on defending his mates rather than damaging(he plans to help his teammates to do damage)

All what they give is a boost to stats. That’s not what you are looking for in runes I think.
Note: Last bonus is non-existant, 30 HP/S is nothing. Compare to your shouts heal for example. and shouts are aoe too.
Soldier’s runes would be better imo for such build. Also, signet of rage seems to be far off the mark compared to warbanner( it doesn’t suck, it gives actually very decent bonuses!). Not like you get many benefits from might stacks and crit chance in your build, now do you?

Pin Down change - Gap Closers

Evalia.7103

I’m pretty sure longbow immobilize works great to cook enemies in arcing slice..
Gap closers?
Of course you lack one on a ranged weapon. I hope you don’t plan to melee them with longbow! Use that amazing switch button that has greatsword or sword mopped in(direct damage versus condition damage, obviously. given traits we have for bleed and burning I consider conditions more like a cherry on the top to increase direct damage from powerful spells like arcing arrow).
Oh, and to all greatsword haters.
What exactly is wrong about it? I’ve managed to solotake camps(actually this one is ridiculously easy, i don’t even get below 20k HP if the camp is unupgraded), champion tower lords(bashed in with a trebuchet by myself at 4 AM GMT, well not a hassle for me since that’s 12 AM in my timezone). I managed to hack down multiple enemies who were immobilized by flurry either bladetrail(GS 4 + leg specialist = 2.4 sec immobilize with my current traits set as 10/30/0/20/10 and 10% extra come from runes). If you claim that it is counterable by curing conditions/using stability, well then maybe you have to realise that hundred blades cooldown is miserable, and i have multiple attempts to go for it while most people won’t be able to cure their conditions
reliably all the time.

2 Blades vs GS

in Warrior

Posted by: Evalia.7103

Evalia.7103

Hundred blades is a combo move(not as in game combo mechanics, but as in actual chain of abilities), which you can use like flurry>weapon switch>hundred blades and enjoy hacking an opponent that has yet no choice but to stand and get hacked down to death. Sometimes I equip bull’s rush to do that, and my runes always help me because of them giving me stability boon – so I won’t get stopped while channeling it.
Frenzy is also heard of. I can’t count the cases when I killed multiple enemies who got in my flurry>HB combo when i was under frenzy&full boons(lyssa runes). I’m not running main-hand sword all the time, but with longbow last ability is 3.6 seconds immobilize(with 20% condi duration increase that i get from 10 in strength and runes). Wait, greatsword itself has 2.4 sec immobilize on 4th ability?! That is if you trait leg specialist. Bingo. Go stop them in their tracks and show something scary.
On top of it, finishing people with it(in downed state) is amazing because it is much more reliable and will prevent them from getting resurrected(or otherwise make some more downed people), and so is hacking down NPCs. Second ability of greatsword is far from useless in wvw.
3rd ability is a quick 1.5x times bigger dodge that can be used for dealing solid damage just as well, 4th ability is just glorious(if you tr!ait leg speci it is twice as glorious) and rush is an amazing movement skill with damage attached to it.
The only fact that is not so good about greatsword is lack of proper burst, but it is somewhat compensated now because you get extra damage(traits!) by having adrenaline bars filled.

18.7k Kill Shot - At what cost?

in Warrior

Posted by: Evalia.7103

Evalia.7103

Killshot doesn’t crit more than 10k on a lvl 80 with proper gear (aka non glass cannon).
Even on lvl 80 glass cannons it will hit max 12k.

Little do you know about 25-30k killshots on GC(lvl 80) if you decide to deck out in full berserker gear supplemented with all tricks possible(Stack that bloodlust sigil on something! then change to rifle! get food with 200 power for 30 sec on kill and 10 crit damage, and stone for 100 more power to get power level and critical damage insane! Dig in with disc banner, signet of might as well as OMM and troll that glass cannon(not sure why did I need to do damage almost 3 times as much as his healthbar!
Well, it’s pretty pointless because when I went with that I picked up longbow to throw some troll arcing arrows for 10-12k(didn’t have longbow traits tho :P could get someish 10% more damage i think).
I’ve found it inferior to my usual mix of survivability and damage. Because dead people can not do damage. I have had great fun defending keeps and towers with it, and i carry it around as a change-suit :P

I did not mention it is trash, I said that currently it is inferior.
It is true that all weapons are supposed to be used in some ways, which is exactly why I carry almost a whole 20 slot bag full of weaponry.
However off-hand sword is just too disappointing. You can’t even decide whether it is condition damage or direct damage; it is a hybrid of both which is no good(mixing up condition damage and direct damage is a waste of potential). What else? It is single target; last button is a single-attack block which is hardly going to hit and is not rewarding even if it does.
You see amazing AOE stun on mace, amazing AOE damage ability on axe(okay not so amazing but if you use it in combo field with some omnompies, it’s a star of the show),
amazing swiftness and slow removal on warhorn as well as AOE vigor with AOE weakness; shield also shows off with quick dash interrupt and amazing block ability.
Sword just pales. If anything, it does more damage on single-target. But thereagain, in such situation shield wins. and in other situation it’s also shield; or mace, or axe. I’ve played warrior for a decent time, I believe I know what I talk about.

I’ve also found that unless a player knows about existence of a dodge roll, they are easy to kill if you are playing a thief. As well as I’ve found out that not many do. And half of those who do seem to click it with mouse on character UI or something.

A&S + Rifle PvP Build

roaming with axeshield/rifle?
you mean snailing around -.-
axe/shield has nothing to do for roaming(running around and soloing/duoing camps while fighting off groups of 1-3 players). How do you plan to get into melee unless enemy charges into you himself?
PvP in name is very confusing. Given that it’s for WvW mainly.
Superior sigil of earth is a wet noodle because you have a passive trait(arms 5, minor) that lets you keep 1-2 bleed stacks for those 10% damage.
Also, what exactly does signet of might give you? I see a smelly tradeoff of 175 power with 50% uptime instead of which you could get superb banner of critical damage and precision that gives tons more damage(even when signet of might is up, 10% critical damage is ungodly strong), and allows itself to be gently picked up to give some fury as well as swiftness and dash to not snail around(with your build) but actually move on decent speeds.
Shake it off is never to be kept on at all times, and so is FGJ. They are great, but they are situational. There are many situations where you could benefit more from something else.
Heavy recommendation to change VI in disc on V for 9% critical chance. It does not show, but it does work. And it is awesome. And you managed to dump 25 in arms without putting 30…(I like them there, but imagine! you forgot to put 5 more points to reach one of the most awesome traits, that is Last Chance which kicks puppies(selfcensor) for soloin’ camps and finishing your opponents)
Also, just to mash it in.
If you met 2 conditions:
1. You play a warrior.
2. You are in wvw.
And do not have longbow in your inventory to efficiently protect your tower, keep or maybe castle, you are doing it wrong.

The moment you are out of combat, you are free to swap weapons.
It is wise to use melee weapons(assuming that 2 blades means 2 swords, you better throw off-hand sword in trash bin and equip shield; sword’s is a half-condition orientied weapon that is unfortunately not so strong now for dealing damage. I’m using it for it’s utility of chasing down and stopping enemies, to hack them with GS later.) in open field.
I barely equip ranged weapon in open field; exception would be holding a point( like protecting camp) and sometimes zerg-on-zerg open field battles(then i usually go with dual melee anyway).
However longbow is the awesomeness for protecting walled structures from multiple enemies, and rifle is just as awesome when enemy force is small.

I think Necromancers have the highest base Health, actually.

Reading wiki may help with understanding.
Base HP of classes is split in 3 groups,
lowest being guardian, thief and elementalist with 10805 HP;
middle-tier is mesmer, ranger and engineer with 15802 HP;
and top-tier is warrior and necromancer with 18372 HP.
3 groups are also split in armor category which gives them the base amount of defense(1 point of defense on armor pretty much equals to 1 point of toughness according to game mechanics), and doubling your armor(which is defense+toughness)
halves the damage dealt to you.

Passive Block on Shields &

Shield makes you passively fatter and draws mobs aggro to you.
Saying that warrior shield stance sucks… ahem really? It only has 1 cons, that is that you can still be pulled by some abilities(not sure but i know that mesmer interrupted my shield stance and that’s very obviously a bug)
If anything shield bash should get stun duration increase. like from 1s to 1.5s.
1s is pretty pointless for anything but interrupting.
Guardian shield of absorption is awesome. I mean, knockback all enemies and shield your allies from projectiles? Then detonate for heal? Very good in wvw(Except i don’t think it lasts for 4 seconds it says!).. Oh and AOE protection on another spell. Not bad either imo.
Can’t block with shield? What about 3 second block shield stance, guardian dome(not rly block tho :P), engi magnetic?
Shield does very well to protect you, not always with blocks but still.
The fact that you said spell on 25 secs CD that is an incredibly small dash and 1s stun is good makes me cry -.-

I see axe plus mace/GS
with reflection trait(not the best trait for wvw, you could put those 10 in arms for quickness and plus 10% damage, yes even if you run shield you would totally benefit more from 4 s quickness for fast stomps and not only)
20 in tactics is awesome but longbow and shout trait? I’m pretty sure there should be something like leg specialist and empowered…
Rending strikes could be exchanged onto VI trait. That is under doubt, though. I like rending strikes but 12 s of vigor really kicks. and it helps to reach 100% fury uptime, too.
No runes to be shown or mentioned either. Lyssa runes for wvw is what i use. A-we-so-me-ness. Especially when it gives you 18% damage increase under empowered. While only 6 seconds, it’s godly 6 seconds when you kick enemies to a pulp. Not like you fight 24/7 in wvw, right? Usually it’s pretty short fights.
Knight and berserker, don’t forget that there is also new stat combination power/toughness/crit damage from fractals which is also awesome.
Mending plus SoF could be beneficially exchanged onto Healing Surge+SoS(signet of stamina). Signet is much much better for condition removal, and when you don’t need it it’s amazing bonus to dodges. You have to give up 4% crit chance but yeah, not big deal. For better heal, better condition removal and dodge bonus, totally.
And 3 slots in utilities are something you should flip around. Sometimes I put bulls charge with frenzy. Sometimes all 3 stances. Sometimes banner’s if i need to engrave me and my allies in that tower/keep. etcetra.
EDIT: Apparently + makes stuff underlined.. if you put 2 of them in the text.

100% crit chance "Berserker" Build

Not to sound like arrharr, I like 100% crit and all;
But in my opinion, you do it wrong. If you managed to put 10 in defense, and put it on stance duration, it is a waste. Why not put 10 in arms for 10% extra damage and 4 seconds quickness? If you go 10 in defense, then that’s for block reflection which works pretty nice.
Tactics is an amazing tree. Only lackluster thing is passive minor bonuses, and yet still you have to revive sometimes. Being fatter and doing it faster is in no way a disadvantage(imo better than trait 5 in defense and better than trait 5 in discipline, trait 5 in arms is also awful unless you have 25 in arms). 10 in tactics is a staple if I run GS, and I’m thinking about putting 20(leg specialist chains nicely into frenzy blades for 10; and for 20 empowered is enormous synergy with my lyssa runes(18% damage bonus when under full boons? Don’t forget to spice up with frenzy)( recommended to immobilize opponents before surprising them) which I find incredibly superior to eagle(eagle gives around 5% extra damage(less if you have solid amount of critical damage… and extra 5% when target below 50%. Full boons/condition removal is very, very strong!!! And sometimes 4th bonus gives amazing gifts too(10 sec protection after heal? or maybe 10 sec stability? free aegis? 1,5k heal from regeneration? 10 sec retaliation for solid damage on enemy? Extra dodge from vigor? :P) How does that even compare to extra 3% damage(i converted 5% crit damage into 3% damage, seems more than it does in fact) from eagle? And how does full boons/condition removal every minute compare to extra 2.5%(assuming your enemy is below 50% half the time) damage?
To prevent insanity from happening I’ve found only 1 way. Boon corruption. Which forces me to activate SOS(what a perfect abbriveature of signet of stamina!)and do an emergency retreat.

20k evis is almost impossible except on a target with close to 0 tougness(underleveled cloth user in wvw can eat that for example)

My point was that people don’t use those buffs, and yet find time to complain about ascended gear making some people a very slightly bit stronger.
They are much more available, and yet you don’t pick up the possibility.
So why care about ascended gear? It is also another possibility you do not pick up. Yes, it is harder. But you didn’t do something as easy as buying consumables off trading post(85% of people in wvw do not have food buff, 95% don’t have wrench buff).
And they matter much more, really. Unless you’ve already bought them as well as did another tricks(stacking sigils be4 combat and karma stat buffs is what i mean), why would you care about ascended gear?
It is just such a minor stat % increase as of now. Of course it would be a problem if it would be released and you could only get full ascended only from fractals. Now that would be ridiculous, but I don’t see that happening.

Do you use food buffs?
Do you use wrench buffs?
Do you stack stacking sigils , then wield a weapon with different ones in actual wvw combat?
Do you buy stat karma boosts from wayfarer foothills?
If the answer to at least one of these question is NO,
you can’t grumble about ascended gear because you denied yourself amount of power (not as in stat but as in overall character strength) 10-20 times bigger (or the same as difference between exotic and ascended ring, in karma buffs case) than a difference between exotic and ascended currently gear pieces.
If the answer to all is NO(which is presumable),
Then you are ridiculous for complaining about ascended gear. After all, you willingfully
gave up on enormous buffs(250+ to chosen stat which requires you to kill a dozen of monsters before doing real wvw objectives; mere silvers for amazing wrench and food buffs, just to say 100 precision, 100 power, 10% critical damage from wrench and food for example. Or godlike lifesteal from omnomberry ghosts… Oh, and karma buffs that come for… 21/28 karma each… And alltogether(theres 4 karma buffs) give the same bonus as ascended ring over exotic would give… yeah..)
I’m talking about 20-30% of character strength here, and yet you who do not use those complain about 1% current power increase from ascended and 6-7% in the future..
Also, do you carry all weapons available to your class in your inventory?
After all, as a warrior I keep everything I can(almost whole 20 slot bag of exotic weaponry, 4 axes(2 for stacking, 2 for combat), shield, 2 swords, longbow, rifle, GS, hammer, 2 maces, warhorn).
Because there is no reason to grumble how you do not have a longbow when you need to defend your tower from superior force of enemies, no reason to be a snail when you can equip sword+warhorn/GS and be the fastest character there is(tried with friends, I got ahead of air run specced ele with daggers of course and on par with shadowstep thief who shadowstepped like every 3-4 seconds -_-), and of course et cetera.

I saw Jade Maw written with big letters after huge amount of flight and strange building nearby. I wanted to check out but I couldn’t because I was dead =P I wish I brought revive orb back then.

Not going to happen.

Together with Skull Crack, those two would give you 4 seconds of stun. That’s more than enough to switch over to GS and Frenzy+HB a target to death.

Currently you could argue that Frenzy+HB is balanced because it’s easy to avoid, but add in an alternative way to force people to use a stunbreak, and it becomes an overpowered combo.

And we already have tons of complaints about Hundred Blades.

Then what do you think about flurry>HB combo?

Ancient Karka Shell vs... stuff

At first I looked that 100 useful stats compared to 96 useful stats. Now I look that 50 useful stats + 50 half-useful stats + 50 useless stats.

Hey, I equip full berserker with scholars too when I get to solo something that does not require me to be survivable(I repeated arah p2 after you just to see how hard it was, hardest part to be honest was lupicus and I figured him out after an hour of fails or so(I hate his kick…)).
When I go into a place where I can not evade the damage reliably, like… world versus world? Or half the dungeon encounters? I can’t help it but to search where to get that survivability while trying to sacrifice as little of damage as possible. And of course, I’m looking at all-arounds first since they seem to be the best place where to get that survivability(interesting note that for a warrior I found lyssa rune to be a superior all-around rune rather than divinity… it utilizes around offensive stats but survivability bonus from all boons and full conditional removal is phenomenal for short wvw fights)

Worth pointing out that 96 dedicated points are more valuable than 100 points spread around equally.

Especially since many factors like damage are multiplicative, and thus higher dedicated stats yield significantly better results on the whole.

This is why very few people run “spread stat” builds that utilize all of the stats at once, and tend to dedicate themselves to one pursuit (usually high-damage or high-crit). It gives you a jack-of-all-trades feel, true….but you’re also definitely the master of nothing.

you realise that 100 were substracted from a total of 150?
these 100 were the ones that are completely necessary. Just like those 96, they hold the true value. And they are supported by extra 50 points that do not really cost 50 points, though. But still something.
While it is true that damage indeed stacks multiplicatively, survivability gain from first points into vitality and toughness is the greatest(1k hp to 10k hp thief is 10%, to 20k hp wariror is just 5%. Same with armor, thief with just 2k armor will get 5% damage decrease from 100 toughness while warrior with 3k will get 3.3% damage decrease) will. Good luck and have fun being that thief in wvw with 10.8k HP and no toughness. Or you could lose a trivial amount of precision and power(due to those amazing all-around items) while solidly racking in bulk.
Your DPS will not meet it’s target if the target is clever enough. You will hit the dirt first. In PvE you get oneshotted by everything, so it’s not exactly funny either(works if you are sure you are not getting any aggro, but that does not always happen in pugs).
Proper build can offer you serious survivability while losing minor amounts of damage.

It was rather fun when you said high-damage or high-crit. I would like to hear the difference, since crit is a part of damage formula and one of things you have to balance out(for example, GS warrior with billionzillion of on-crit effects can get up to 90-100% crit and be totally happy with it because it is better than plain power(when you get might stacks from going precision… well you know. Precision also gives power, power gives only power. Also other useful bonuses like extra bleeds, possible vulnerability from trait, sigil procs, food procs(omnomberry pies/ghosts are incredible)).
Not quite as attractive on someone who does not benefit from landing a crit except in a way of dealing increased damage, of course.
Back to my intentions, I want to point out that a true damage dealer is a person who is able to keep himself up while still dealing ridiculous amounts of damage. A damage potential that is never going to be realized is just not worth it.
