Ancient Karka Shell vs... stuff

BiS the moment you start to utilize power, precision, crit damage, vitality and toughness from it. If you are a guardian, you can also manage to somewhat utilize healing power and condition damage. And we, warriors, can receive minimal bit from it, too.
And until the moment ascended trinkets come out.
I would ask to not confuse that BiS with ascended all-around rings. They are nowhere near best in slot unless you can utilize 6 stats including critical damage from it.
power/precision/crit damage/toughness/vitality – and then condition damage either healing power have to be utilized before you can call it BiS for yourself. Works for damage-orientied guardians with small survivability focus(they can get some benefits from condition damage and healing power, while not much, still can).
Warrior basic bleed on crit from trait(95% warriors have it) and healing spell(6) can not be called utilizing the stat, by the way.
Like math.
Compared to ruby trinket you could get otherwise – ruby gives 96 points of useful power/precision and 3% critical damage. Karka shell gives 100 useful points, not 96(assuming you are getting 25 vitality and 25 toughness that you would get somewhere else instead of power or precision, I mean come on even the hardest DPS needs to survive a bit), and comes with extra benefits on top such as condition damage and healing power(magic find is off the table, but not bad anyways).

Yakslapper requires that you destroy ONE MILLION caravans. Someone did the math, and even if you played WvW 24 hours a day and killed every yak in existence.. it would still take years to achieve.

Just 694 days 10 hours 40 minutes
Of killing dolyaks
Assuming at speed of 1 dolyak/minute.
I’m pretty sure in around 30 years we will have a guy with this achievement. Not with stonemist cap unfortunately.

Exactly, and yaks seem to be better than stonemist castle achievement still.
Stonemist seems to be going beyond 100 years limit at last tier(I imagine 1>100>500>2500>10000 or even 1>100>1000>10000>100000.
Well still just about 30 years of daily stonemist capping or almost 300 in bad case.
Let me be an Ultimate Liberator. I want the title, and I want realistical conditions. I also believe that Ultimate Repeatator should be the true name for all wvw achievements. But especially stonemist castle.
Cause taking over the same castle(what, a ridiculously hard to take over castle that is getting took over by your server around once per week?) more than 100 times in a row isn’t funny.

It’s not about casual obtaining of stonemist castle.
250k kills is acceptable.
capturing stonemist 100 times is barely acceptable.
Capturing stonemist more than 100 times(3 more tiers ahead)
is NOT.
It’s about how often your server caps stonemist. I’m 100% sure that with current achievement scaling stonemist last achievement won’t be below 1000 caps.
Even with doing 1 cap of it every day(it happens like 1-2 times a week at the very best at my server) means almost 3 years.
If I were to compare the amount of time for getting an Eternity
and wvw stonemist achievement.
well then getting 10 Eternities(3hours a day of playtime without any gem purchases or exploiting) should be much faster than getting that SM cap achievement.

I’ve just realised that I wanted an awesome title of Ultimate Liberator while playing wvw. It would be quite cool to have it
It’s the achievement of capturing stonemist castle, all what I know is that it is a 5-tier achievement, first tier requires to cap it 1 time and the second requires it 100 times.
Well doing some quick calculations, capping it one time per week(what usually happens on my server… and i’m not able to always be there on cap..) it requires me a bit more than 2 years to do tier 2.
What about tier 3, 4, and 5?
Just speculating. I think I will die before getting the achievement even if I dare to play gw2 every single day in next 80 years…(which is impossible because the game will vanish much sooner)

Suggestions for how to Fix Brutal Shot

Evalia.7103

5 buttons, do not ever forget to include burst.
Now we see that brutal shot at least has some use when grouping up on boss. You lose a bit of DPS but you help everyone to deal damage(i guess more damage than otherwise casting 2 bleed shots) so it’s a win situation. Obviously enough it’s cast time requires to be halved, though.
Here, let’s put greatsword in the same category.
Only time I’m going to use arcslice is when I want a dodge from trait(15) in strength. I’m not just yet going to waste my damage(single target not so decent damage spell with solid cast time that gives NO other bonuses except that fury that you have with around 100% with just FGJ and SoR but causes me to lose 9% crit and 12% damage temporarily(on a DPS build with consideration of self-survival that I’m using, 20/30/0/10/10, it is a GREATSWORD/X spec where X is a constantly changing value depending on the situation and my personal preference(I’m using ALL weapons, it just depends on the situation. You can never be flexible enough! Only combinations I’m not using are mace/axe and mace/sword(second one, I used it only once when I was soloing lupicus, but it’s just trollish unless you plan to solo some bosses and still in most cases axe/sword beats that on switch)

My favourite armor runes for wvw are superior runes of lyssa(to be paired up with SoR)
Yes they are also expensive but you can buy them from karma vendor from lyssa temple if you care(42k/exotic armor piece with rune inside that you can salvage for rune or transmute for rune or maybe wear if you like stats). In fact I used to run with superior runes of divinity and then switched to lyssa – single last bonus makes me feel like it gives more than all bonuses of divinity rune bunched together(full condition removal and 5 sec of all boons is insanely, insanely strong!)

Thief ... wow :-(

Evalia.7103

when you have 10.8K hp and base toughness with medium armor, you are easily the squishiest character there is(gc ele is fatter due to survival abilities. Thieves stealth can not prevent damage directly, and i’ve killed countless thieves by rolling over shadow refuge and then guessing their position based on “1” rotation)
As for enemies in the video: 70% had that green arrow near their nickname. Everyone should know that means they are much weaker because they do not have full bonuses from gear, traits, not capable of using lvl 80 food/wrench buff and some may
not even have all skills learned.
And another 85% (well 60% of underleveled and 25% of not underleveled) were glass cannons who seemed to never really care about a thief(how many times did you see dodge in the video coming from enemy? how many times did you see them using autoattacks in downed state?)
Rest 5% is that warrior…. who tried to melee a thief down with a rifle.
As the post above me said there were 2 cases when thief got almost downed from already downed people, well the difference between these 2 people and the rest that they used “1” in downed state and other abilities instead of laying like a tree.
Bonus quest: count an amount of ambushed warriors, guardians, necromancers.

All really good ideas, and ones i definitely did not consider, thank you, I think I’m going to start comparing prices of these yellows to ecto, the ones that are better ill sell the rest I’ll us the masters on and hope luck is with me. Thanks again.

Do not forget to count in monetary value of sigil/rune as well as common materials.
Chance for T6 common is pretty high when salvaging rare with master kit and sigil/rune is to be considered, too.

Ecto help! any advice would be great.

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Evalia.7103

Evalia.7103

There is a difference, and it is somewhat confirmed.
More or less it’s just a multiplier, so if you have basic chance of 50% to get 1 ecto and 50% chance to get 0(Fake Numbers), with master kits it will be 62.5% to get 1 and 37.5% to get 0 while with black lion kits it would be 75% and 25% respectively.
What I mean here that 25 and 50 % chance increases mean % increase on base chance, thus 0.5×1.25 = 0.625 and 0.5×1.5 = 0.75.
Which basically means you are better off using master(or mystic, but with current gem prices not worth it unless you maybe want a 250 stack kit) kit to salvage rares(much better than selling them to a salvager because he has to deal with 15% trading post fee and thus guaranteedly buys them cheaper from you to salvage with at least any profit).
Oh, and basic kit to salvage anything white/blue worth salvaging(basically all of them except those that consist of wood and leather, these are better vendored). Vendor expensive masterwork, mystic forge cheap masterwork(chance for rare to break down, you get a rare a bit more rarer than every 5th attempt, that is around 16-17 masterworks for 1 rare)
And BLKits are here to salvage exotic items or exotic gear that you’ve used to wear. Price of 20 silver per salvage(or more) is completely fine to pay when you have to take out that superior rune or sigil guaranteedly.
From a guy with Sunrise who got 50% of gold for it by just playing(not!!! farming orr 24/7) and 50% of gold by flipping on trading post(boring stuff to do for me =/ I don’t play trader wars but I wanted that sunrise so yea).

no arguin’ with FGJ/banner of discipline, and the fact that you change 3rd utility is also just right. Of course you also have to co-op if you meet a fellow warrior and change the banner(on any other banner! lol all of them are awesome but I think strength is significantly weaker than others) , but I think you know it.
Now, time to criticise.
I am using Healing Surge, as you said yourself it has higher healing/second overall(by a decent chunk by the way..) but what matters for me is burst damage. As you said in fractals and other high dungeons you are not often dealing with DPSing enemies… Usually you stay around 100% HP and then get hit by something hard that you need to heal back. Thus my reasoning for healing surge, not to mention burst>quick adrenaline which means it can be used for helping with damage(sacrificing healing for damage).
Running banner as elite is contradictory. It has very decent range(like 1k traited I think), but your allies are still running out of zone on multiple occasions. Might is 3 1/3
because it pulses every 3 sec for 1 stack for 10 seconds, well usually that should be 4 stacks if you stay in the area with boon duration buff from tactics.
Disadvantages are also here. Now, the range is significantly lower untraited and so is uptime… And you could use the trait slot for +70 might for entire group. Which is kinda serious, too.
Well, I’m using SoR because of the fact it synergises with my runes(lyssa runes last bonus – all boons/full conditional removal on elite use). I’m changing on a banner when res factor is crucial(good example is ascalonian battle fractal…)
Overall, you forget that you pay a significant trait price for getting those banner traits… and people just run out of their zone solid chunk of time.
And yea well signet’s are junk except signet of rage and signet of stamina. Stamina is pretty much unique in a way(can’t be replaced if you need dodges but dont have vigor), and you don’t always need the cursed banner with lower than 25% uptime when untraited.(65/240 seconds and people run out of range just as well)

GW2 vs Traditional MMO, why leveling is bad.

Well, it doesn’t matter if you call leveling receiving something.
They could remove levels all together and replace system of getting skills with skill challenges you have to do in instances by yourself and obviously many other funny ways.
Common leveling system is.. just a system. There would be no harm to remove levels alltogether, but you will still have to replace them with something similar to it.
I for one would completely agree to remove the leveling system(the arenanet themselves try to make it not so mattering by level scaling, but why bother? I do not understand why a lvl 2-3 undeads running around in caledon forest should be weaker than undead’s running in orr, still).
However it is undoubtely easier to stick with common system than go for innovations that may not be liked by people. Could this be the reason?

Because an absolute amount(above 80%) WvW players don’t even bother to use food and wrench buffs, which provide easily 20-30 times the stat difference between ascended/exotic ring.

3050 attack
36 % critical chance
83 % critical power
2914 armor
21592 hp /385 healing power
but as secondary weapon i prefer riffle. it gives me great advantage vs elementarists /1 knockback vs thieves /warriors /guardians followed by an 5k damage volley looks better

Can you post your build and your armor please. The stats are very interesting. I search for a new build.
Thx

Knight rings , helm, pants, bersek chest , boots gloves shoulders, amulet, divinity runes, karka earing, ascended back piece.
Took divinity runes +karka earing for 85 too all stats , and 30 points on defene , with an total 385 healing power, since from 379 HP , pasive from healing singet change, not too much but had to test it ^^. is arround 350 hp /sec with adrenal heal

main-hand sword shows superiority compared to mace.
You wouldn’t want to pass up on leg specialist trait in tactics, either.
It is also quite funny that people forget about foods(you do, for example).
Omnomberry ghost healing compared to adrenal regeneration(with 50% critical chance) is around 3-4 times greater(on average, extra 210 heal on crit and ALSO 210 extra damage on crit)
then another 100+ of free stats from wrench buff(master oil, sharpening stone)
Signet of healing passive heal is much smaller compared to heal from adrenaline surge, too. you can do the math. 208*30 is how much healing you get during healing surge cooldown. much less than 8440 HP healing surge gives, and it is also important to remember that combat does not last as long, you can use surge instantly and signet will tick away with only small part of it’s usefulness. Compared to mending I also find it superior because of already decent amount of condition removal.
You have very nice stat set-up, but if I had to say that you lack something.
There is only 1 thing. You do not have enough critical chance to support monstrous amount of critical damage.
And there is a funny enough solution to it – buy superior sigil of perception to stack it on separate weapon(to then replace it to your normal weapons), use omnomberry pies/ghosts, use master maintenance oil. You will notice a huge bonus to your DPS and survivability(from ghost’s stealing) by using those. And you do not lose anything. At all.

ranged warriors viable?

in Warrior

Posted by: Evalia.7103

Evalia.7103

Not true, Im betting I do more damage than most melee people do with my rifle/longbow build. I can put out twice as much damage as a 100b warrior with rifle, switch to longbow for its 400 damage burn ticks and 8k #3 bomb, switch back and rifle burst for another 30k damage. People saying ranged warriors such just havent ran into good ones yet. The only thing melee has going for it is its aoe, neither is better than the other, but preference is everything. Since melee has faster attacks it will probably do more damage in the long run but its also in harms way, so it gets rewarded. I like sniping so Ill play ranged, also remember most dungeon fights seem to be ranged biased and very rough on melee.

Try running Rifle/GS switch build(same weapon stats of course) and compare damage of rifle 3>F1 combo with GS 2>3 combo. Time it takes is pretty similar, however GS comes ahead in damage.
Ranged biased dungeon fights come from selfish players – playing ranged is selfish in a way. A party of melee’s is a wonderful piece – if they work together and not some 5x signet 5x warrior combo(or, in fact, ANTICOMBO) builds – which are a very stupid waste of potential, 3-4 warriors with for great justice, on my mark and different banners allow for absurd amount of damage. Situation becomes even more hilarious if there is a support guardian and/or mesmer(TIME WARP just makes everything 2 times worse for monsters that you fight)
The damage dealt by every single of warriors participating in such is uncomparable to a ranged guy damage.

ranged warriors viable?

in Warrior

Posted by: Evalia.7103

Evalia.7103

No one said they aren’t viable. But you realise that somebody has to take aggro when you go into a dungeon?
When you say that rifle is better because it does ALMOST same damage while keeping you out of harm’s way, i have to imagine you are quite silly because in fact, somebody has to keep you out of harm’s way. By being melee.
When you go melee, not only you get rewarded with MORE damage(you do same damage with berserker pieces that you could put more of in because you range? Well ,that DAMAGE practically came from the fact that someone was meleeing and taking aggro from you.)
So as a melee, yes, you are much more beneficial to your team because you are doing most of the job by allowing them to land their DPS. Also, no matter how you look at it, 5 melee’s would completely outperform party of 5 ranged. In first party everyone supports each other, and in second one somebody runs in circles(who was unlucky enough to get aggro) while others stand and shoot.
Of course this is not true for all bosses, but for a good chunk of them(half?) it is exactly what happens.
Also, melee berserker is easy as long as you have a melee tanker with you(that guardian or warrior who draws the aggro from you and effectively survives with it – and he could be the same glass cannon warrior who is experienced enough to get out of harm way to obviously deal much more damage than his ranged allies)
Meleeing as an entire party means that you are more efficient(AOE support abilities reach everyone), and you will be taken back to your feet almost immediately if you go down
Note that when I say ranged, I mean ranged DPS. This has nothing to do with support-orientied players.
But that is not all. What I hate in dungeons most is not just ranged players – sometimes you have to range, but selfish players. I have had some awesome team combinations with my guild mates. What is your Signet of fury that you run? 130 precision to yourself?
Well I just have that banner of discipline that just gives 90 precision, 10% critical damage and 3 might for 20 seconds(planted in guardian fire combo field – or your own). To a total of 450 precision, 50% critical damage and 15 might for 20 seconds spread over my entire party. Not to mention that i can pick it up for free swiftness and fury for my party! And instead of your laughable signet of might, that gives you 90 power and 40 precision through trait(you might choose to pop it for 175 power! you lose precision, and it’s only half uptime, though), you could run for great justice. Together with the banner, fury uptime on my team becomes 100% and they get permanent(in fact not 100%, so almost permanent) +20% to critical chance, which equals to 420 precision to every member of my party. Oh, and 105 power to each one of them… permanently. Which is much more than a passive effect of signet of might.
In fact, it is quite funny how a banner that exists to help everyone gives more damage to you and to you alone than signet that exists to help you and you alone. Which brings me to disgust people who run signets(on a warrior.) – not only they do not help their party mates, but they also gimp themselves. This is of course mainly referring to signet of might and signet of fury. Signet of rage is much better in comparison to elite banner(which is mainly only great for the fact that it resurrects, it provides worse bonuses than a normal banner in my opinion -_-), and signet of endurance is an amazing helper with survivability.

It is fractal gear only at the moment(ascended rings and backpack, and random chance for account bound armor pieces(exotic – not ascended)). I use exactly those rings and backpack by the way :P They also have a very small points/crit damage ratio conversation (8.5/1% for rings and 7/1% for backpack, that is however coming from the fact that you can’t separate them from jewels inside)
By the way, I don’t like the highlighted phrase. I would like to get gloves, boots and shoulders(most efficient parts in terms of crit damage on armor :P) with those stats but I can’t because of their randomness(done 250 fractals and didn’t ever get one, only helmet with such stats)

It is not a completely useless stat; as such, you wouldn’t want to abandon it.
First points in vitality are the ones that give you most benefit. Raising your health by 1 thousand when you have 10 is a 10% increase, while raising your health by 1 thousand while you have 20 is just 5%.

Precision vs Critical Damage

in Warrior

Posted by: Evalia.7103

Evalia.7103

What is needed to remember that there is a kind of equilibrium, at which putting a point in precision is equal to putting a point in power and equal to putting a point’s worth in critical damage. There are some formula’s that can help find you that… Unfortunately they are quite basic and don’t include on-crit effects. Complete formula would be incredibly hard for me to do, but I’m almost sure that effective amount of critical chance(if you use your stats in a right way, you could lose out on points by simply not getting them(inferior gear, usage of inferior food/wrench buff or no use of them at all, bonuses from karma hearts you could get(norn starting area buffs, etc), as well as stacking sigils that have a replacing trick to them) lays inbetween 70 and 90 % .
Of course basic formulas might show otherwise, but the more critical chance your GS warrior gets, the more power you will have(might stacks from crits), the more bleeds you will apply(passive trait (5) in arms), the more vulnerability(popular arms trait), and of course procs from your food and sigils.
Having a critical chance at high amounts just as well makes your damage less random. You will not get frustrated then by a spree of attacks that just won’t crit.
Note: I find a combination of berserker, knight’s, soldier’s and new power/toughness/crit damage gear very effective. You want just a little bit of soldier, because vitality is not quite as effective on a warrior, but you should remember that first points in it count the most.

Why doesnt Eternity has steps?

Is this a bug? .

I really hope you didn’t take the time (or spend the dollars) to make Eternity for the steps…but sounds like it could be a bug. Out of curiosity, does Eternity still have the annoying black (Twilight) and goldish white (Sunrise) swirly crap all over the place when you swing the weapon? If not, maybe one day it would actually be worth making one.

You call this hate ^^
But it’s quite a shame that eternity does not have footsteps and particle effects on projectiles(like binding blade, whirling blade, bladetrail) that are here on sunrise/twilight.
And I’m going to agree about the fact that sunrise looks best during the night.
Sounds like for now, if somebody wanted an eternity, they are much better off having sunrise and twilight and changing them on their wish(look, only positives! you don’t lose footsteps, small part of particle effects, and you can change the look on a whim of your will instead of on a whim of game)

Need opinions on a sword mainhand build

Talking from WvW and PvP perspective, sword is a great utility addition(GS/sword+shield combo).
You have great leap, serious cripple in the melee and most importantly – explicitly long(almost 5 seconds) immobilize which is easily applied – and then you proceed to execute them with hundred blades.
But bleed build? I don’t like it. Obvious reason that sword is 50/50, it does solid amount of direct damage(lasthit on attack chain anyone? 2nd, 3rd spell so much bleeds too =/
and if you go off-hand RIP is a burst close to eviscerate and has nothing to do with bleeds).
So I don’t find it effective to squeeze the juice out of bleeds simply because if you do so, you end up inferior because you gimp direct damage abilities that come with sword and vice versa. If you dare to level both, you’ll end with less total damage just as well…

Universal build (Dungeon, WvW, PvE)

signet of might is the worst thing you can put because of the existence of FGJ, which gives more passive might and allows you to have almost constant fury instead of just half the time. Not to mention it’s AOE!
1 weapon set is >< I have GS as main weapon(because it’s amazing all-around) and switch second set all the time; I’m using dual axes to stack 25 stacks if I care, and then putting rifle/sword+shield/whatever depending on situation.
You will have to change your utilities around no matter what, and it’s easy to do anyways because you can do it on spot. Having bola in dungeons is completely kitten and as a warrior you should bring a banner of discipline(or a banner of strength if your pal warrior already has banner of disc) simply for the reason it gives as much precision as signet does, but it also gives 10% critical damage(more than twice as better, i’m pointing out that banner and shout give YOU more damage than signets), have some great spell buffs(pick-up banner, AOE fury and AOE swiftness anyone?) and of course buffs your entire party.
10 in tactics is an amazing addition to any warrior build just for ability to give 70 might to yourself and entire team in dungeons that you change on essential immobilize in WvW. I don’t think boon duration and health hurted somebody either.
I am advertising lyssa runes on warrior forums because of their synergy with SoR.
However, these are only optimal(in my opinion, don’t forget that) in WvW and PvP, not in dungeons(however there is a lot of great things you can do to boost your performance in dungeons, for example buying a powerful potion for relative dungeon and using it yields a 21%(!!!) increase in overall power while increasing your EXP gains by 10%

devs dont you think HBs should be reworked?

I have a solid intuition(up to a point I can guess where a thief is when he cloaks himself with ability on range) and I can really understand that problem.
Against new players, or players that just will never learn(such exist too), you sometimes can just pop frenzy and use it without any disables… makes me want to cry sometimes.
However you say it becomes completely useless in highranked sPvP.
How true could be that if in high-skilled situation it becomes a trap-spell instead? If you got them trapped in some kind of control(I’m using lyssa runes and I like to pop SoR up together with frenzy – it gives me stability(helps with finishing and ensuring Hundred Blades and other juicy boons(protection, aegis, regeneration more than nullifies frenzy negative effect), I’d like to hear why not to use them, or which ones would be great instead)
And leg specialist is also juicy. With GS trait’s(assuming 20 in offense only) bladetrail is 2.4 seconds immobilize(Frenzy+HB here someone) if used at the right moment… and not dodged, of course.
Not to mention you could add some control from your other weapon set! I currently can’t choose where I should use axe for more damage or sword for more mobility and flurry(amazing immobilize duration, almost impossible to dodge if you are in melee – perfect opener for HB)
Although I’m mainly playing WvW and PvE :P

in those cases, my bet is on typo.
When I came in here, I thought you were asking about white equipment. Sometimes the merchant will buy it for 30c, but then you go to the TP and there’s 106 buyer orders for it at 1s30c. what gives with that!? my only guess is people are salvaging them, but couldn’t they just buy the whites from any armor shop?

you realise that if shop wants to buy it from you for 30c, it doesn’t mean shop sells it for 30c? cheapest 80 armor(75-80 is only ones that fit for ori salvaging and guaranteed mithril) costs more than 2s.

Level cap raise - legendary level raise too?

Instead of increasing levels, in terms of character development, they should just:

- fix the bugs
- include more affix and nomenclature. And make them obtainable via random drops.
- introduce more skills / weapons / elite skills
- introduce new professions
- more crafting(and Mforge) recipes with unique skin
- more legendaries

I think that’s what they said they are going to do.
Oh, and to the rest of people who tell me about progression.
It seems that you are indeed right, and I had wrong info. But is it really that bad?
It seems that level cap is going to be moved indeed in some time.
But looking at the kind of leveling progression we have now, it is nowhere near anything grindy or unfun. What bad can be if you got to experience some new maps that will give you 10 more levels?
There is a huge difference from WoW and other MMOs. You could take a month to farm that shadowmourn and then it would be just rendered useless.
Here, the progression goes up like snail and you can be assured that your skins will not be taken away. In a way, even if you change legendary and it will not be BiS anymore(which is seriously doubted, given the amount of effort it will supposedly be forever raised to following BiS tiers), it will still be that epic skin that you are free to apply on best weaponry that will be there.
In a way, I find it funny how addition of transmutation stones fixes such a big problem.
I wouldn’t grind for something that will be taken away from me(in a sense that it will become useless). However this game does not take things away from me, and it won’t.
Unless you count cheap exotic pieces that you’ll have to substitute. On a bigger scale, legendary weapon or T3 set that cost 200x or 10x as much as exotics with same(or better with T3 set stats, again those stones) stats… will be persevered. That’s what matters for me, really. Following stats is easy, my only problem is to get that best look

“Q: What of the level cap? Have you guys decided whether you’re going to be increasing the level cap in future expansions?
Colin Johanson: Yeah. The level cap will be 80 on the initial release of the game, and we absolutely would increase it further into the game, probably through expansions is the most likely place we would do that."

Going to stop investing in this game till they officially refute this. If they increase the level cap, then… Good Bye.

Games that dont need to increase the level cap to succeed = GUILD WARS 1!
Games that NEED to increase the level cap to succeed = WoW (clones)

Stop believing in scam posts?
That was stated on 3rd party website and 100th party video.
whereas the links to arenanet posters said nothing like that, and on the contrary their blog says that lvl 80 will be the cap for game.
care to find my post and read it through? I got some decent confirmation for that.

Level cap raise - legendary level raise too?

No offense, but nobody has any infos because ANet never said anything about a level cap increase. Far all we know, it can just as well stay the same for years to come. Or maybe instead of level increases we might get baby quaggans to follow us around and enhance our skills which is a thing ANet should really do now that I think about it.

The level cap increase has been confirmed since the beggining of the game:

hxxp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DLHfq2lJY5A&t=58m34s

“Q: What of the level cap? Have you guys decided whether you’re going to be increasing the level cap in future expansions?

Colin Johanson: Yeah. The level cap will be 80 on the initial release of the game, and we absolutely would increase it further into the game, probably through expansions is the most likely place we would do that."

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Colin_Johanson

Colin Johanson leads the development team that is responsible for building the content for Guild Wars 2, driving the direction and production of the games event system, personal character story, and all other content types within the game.

Further confirmed by Mike O"Brian:

http://www.gamefront.com/guild-wars-2-level-cap-raise-confirmed-for-future/

“In GW1 we never advanced the level cap through four campaigns/expansions. The game design didn’t allow for it. But GW2 was designed without those restrictions, and we’ve always expected that we will someday raise the level cap in GW2.”

What is that?
Looks like complete lie for me, and you say it’s confirmed.
First of all I fixed and put tt instead of xx in link hxxp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DLHfq2lJY5A&t=58m34s
(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DLHfq2lJY5A&t=58m34s)
what gives? Video is complete idiocy with low amount of views, no comments, horrible quality and obviously made by no-talents who’d never take an interview from gw2 producers.
Second link gets in your face(on 3rd party website of course) and says that Mike O’Brien said on reddit that level cap increase is confirmed. Instead the link to reddit gives you Chris Whiteside response how their team plans the future of the game. Needless to say, nowhere he mentions level cap increase but rather spread of ascended gear, dungeons upgrades, and other stuff that game needs.
And that’s not all. Not only links you gave are fakes – there is also a more-or-less confirmation from their team – on their own blog on their website(!!!)
Follow this link: http://www.arena.net/blog/progression-and-leveling-in-guild-wars-2
to check out their response. They clearly talk about level cap being set for game as 80.
EDIT: Apparently I can’t put active links through linkname for some reason >< – instead website automatically does that.

And here’s another reason my excitement for PvP is curbed…
Typical behavor in /any/ PvP instances, from my experience. While this is little more then annoying, it does greatly testify to the lack of respect and manners from people who love to frequent PvP.
Zero respect to them… They are only slightly better then map exploiters and cheaters as far as I’m concerned.
