Yes, Mesmer has 4 F-skills, while thief only has1.
But guess, which class is more viable in PvP.
In addition, most Mesmers only condi remove also is Lyssa. But MI has at least twice the CD of Basilisk Venom.
Mesmers access to stability is almost as poor as the thieves.
I don’t play mutch WvW, but maybe an “Assassin” Build is just not appropriate for larger group fights?
- For each arena match completed without abandonment, one stack of Dishonorable is removed, if the match lasts longer than seven minutes (the current threshold for full rewards). This would prevent players with Dishonorable from intentionally throwing matches in order to remove stacks faster.
How about “For each arena match won”?

Yup, Sic’Em is a counter to stealth. But it’s the only one in GW2.

Sic’Em prevented him to stealth via the black powder + HS combo and he also couldn’t enter the Shadow Refuge then due to revealed.
Not to mention, that from your point of view, you couldn’t even see that he used Shadow refuge. When you turned around, it was already there. When the thief used shadow refuge, he wasn’t even on your screen.

This is your example. I wont question the skill of the player.
BUT:
- The thief might have had ~75% HP and also probalby not full initiative, as well as maybe not all utlities up.
- The ranger had everything of CD and even used his 120s cd skill
- The thief decided to come back. He could easily have escaped, without the giving the Ranger a chance of catching him
- I’m pretty sure, that most of the damage the thief got, was by the ranger pets. The ranger just almost only used his evades (2x Sword 2, Sword 3), while his pet damaged the thief. He played a Power BM Build. His pet was what killed the thief. The player mostly only evaded.
The only “counter” in this is" spam more evades than the thief while your pet kills him.

I think Llama Finisher needs to stay exclusive for this tournament.
What’s the point to partecipite to these tournaments if every single player can buy these rewards on gem store or grinding them.
PvP players deserve more unique rewards, a reward can’t have an high value if everyone can get it.
But pvp is also the only place, where you can use the finisher.
In addition it’s in the gem shop, so ANet won’t cut their eventual earnings.
Also, if I read the announcement right, you only have to win the first round for getting the finisher.
placing #32 doesn’t justify a unique finisher.

So here is a thought. What if instead of getting a region specific unique skin for completing the region reward track, there would be like a token for that region which could be combined with other region tokens to make one gift of exploration.

When you saw the trait’s description for the first time in it’s reveal a few weeks ago, did you honestly think this was going to put thieves on CD? Did you forget how interrupts work in this game?
I agree it should do something like reducing some of their initiative, but cd isn’t even a part of their mechanics…

Just make stuff easier to aquire via PvP also is no proper solution.
Otherwise, PvE players would complain, or start to farm PvP.
A proper solution might be, to make a far bigger progress increase in the reward tracks, if you win.
In addition, it might also depend (for the arenas) to tie the progress with the “MMR” of the Match.
PvE gets easier, the better you get. But given proper Matchmaking, PvP wont. So the winners of the battle between Team Ladder Nr. 1-10 should progress more in the tracks than the winners of 2 teams which players having 30%.

A already was disappointed when I read the patch notes for Mesmers, which contained ZERO balancing and only bug fixes…from witch at least the half didn’t even work.
How long is it, that Mesmer has seen the last “intentional” buff by ANet?
It seems, the only buffs we get are bugs like Confounding Suggestions + Chaos Storm bug or now Power Block.
Without damaging interrupts, Lockdown Mesmers would be awfull, as they would lacke a lot of damage.
In addition, Interrupting “key skills” is often rly hard in this game (no castbars, effect spam, asuras) and also often impossible (Healing Signet, Withdraw, Shelter, Flanking Strike).
Although, this way if you don’t want to do said dungeon you don’t have to.. but it wouldn’t make much sense to make PvP a replacement for PvE, and I don’t think that’s their intentions. I hope they make it hard as hell to get PvE armor through PvP. It makes the ride more fun.
- They made PvP a replacement for PvE within the moment, the unified the skins. If you have to wear “PvE” items in PvP, it there should be similar effective ways to get the stuff via PvP.

Before the patch, the amount of skins you could get from PvP was probably 2-3 times as much, as it is now with the dungeon tracks.
And you definitifly don’t get “A LOT” of money out of PvP.
Also don’t keep talking crap about “the journey” or “working for accomplishments”. Even in PvE you don’t get dungeon stuff via “the journey”. You have to farm the dungeon until you have your stuff. And do you rly think PvP is easier than PvE? Dungeons usually don’t change. CoF p1 etc. will always be the same, no matter how often you do it. But in PvP, the teams you fight changes. Bosses don’t adapt your playstyle or try to counter it, the enemies in PvP do.
If you rly think, farming dungeons is harder work than playing pvp, then you do sth. wrong. Or maybe, the only image of PvP you have is WvW Karma train or playing 10 vs. 10 Hot Join Zerg.
Your last argument also doesn’t make sense. PvPers are killing ppl anyways, so they don’t need rewards? What about the PvE side? Those wouldn’t do dungeons, bosses and events anyways?

The last time I did PvE, I got 1 gold out of 1 run of CoF. This took me ~10 minutes.

I think, a hard problem is the skill factor.
PvE gets easier, the more “skilled” you become.
But given proper Matchmaking, PvP won’t become easier, even if you get better and the rewards will stay the same. I don’t play much PvE but my guild seems to have some rly crazy PvE players, who are able to do dungeons, inclusivly arah rly fast. I did CoF together with them some times. The speed was insane.
In addition, the reward tracks all are similar “difficult”. But the dungeons are not.
I still get thrown into stuff like 10 vs. 10 custom arenas when I klick “play now”.
But i wanna play 5 vs. 5 …but all servers are full

The time before a match in team and soloQ isn’t long enough to give new players (which shouldn’t be in the arenas) a complete PvP crash course.
In Hot Join there is even less time.
Talking about “toxic” (hate dat word…). What is REALLY toxic are the 8vs8 and 10vs.10 (custom) arenas you get thrown into via “join now” these days, as all 5 vs. 5 arenas are full.
Especially in 10 vs. 10 you wont learn anything about splits, tactics in general or even fighting. It’s mostyl zerging so you also won’t learn much about proper groupfights. If some players want to do 10 vs. 10 or 8 vs. 8, because it is so much fun, I’m fine with it. But don’t let all those new, “innocent” pvp players which might also try out the arenas some day, get corrupted via those Zerg matches.
After reading a couple of threads and have it happen to me personally figure I would post this. Just cause you have a high rank means nothing. Its not hard to understand how spvp works hold more points then other team = win. I’m only level 14 and can usually go thru a match and next to never die and probably get most points for the team. I’ve solo/small group roam in wvw since beta I get how PvP works. Lol. I actually had a guy try to blame our loss on me because I was lowest rank when I challenged him to come to a empty Map and fight me he had every excuse in the book why not to. Awful text layout. You say rank doesn’t equal skill. But you think, getting a lot of points in a match means having skill. In addition, you seem to think, the ability to win a duel matters most. You don’t have to follow the players, as the minimap shows where they are going. Knowing where & when to go and how to split is very important in pvp. Not to mention, if 2 players are capping a save node together, it is obvious they have no clue. Today, I tried to give some advices in Hot Join, like “don’t cap a save node with 5 ppl, it wont cap faster” or “personal score doesn’t mean anything”. Nobody reacted. In addition, you are right, that having a high rank doesn’t make you autmatically good. However, the probablity of a player to be a good player usally increases with its rank. Take 100 R40 players. Not everyone of them will be “good”. However, take 100 R10 players and I would bet that within the second group, there are far less “good” players.
But I really like Balthy track. I hope they continue to release things only available through pvp. (But why so many ascended mats across the game?? I’ve been deleting them for months now because I have far too many! Can I have a real reward please? A bucket of linen scraps maybe??)

- They flood your inventory
- You cant make money out of them
- Ok, we get ascended ats. But how are pvp players supposed to get to crafting lvl 450? The mats you get are far to less to properly level up a crafting profession. And NO I’m not promoting more mats

I have screenshots of both times my match ended in a tie. Both times I was on red and we “won”!

Don’t know if it’s just me, but for one, don’t call it “Arena” if you don’t want to confuse new players. When I see that word in the context of an MMO, I think of a closed off area where competitors fight to the death, i.e. TDM.
In my opinions, this is rly a big thing.
“Arena” is sth everyobody understands, that it means pvp.
But if you are totally unexperienced, wtf is a “pvp-browser”?
Not to mention, that the Arenas only have one single button (for each arena) to klick on, while the pvp browser might seem a little bit confusion.
Do you rly think, some new amulets & traits might overwhelm new players, but on the other side you regard the PvP browser as appropriate?
This is also sth. which can be fixed very easy, as you only have to rename “pvp-browser” and “arens”.
Maybe you could also rework the PvP Browser. Call it “Hot Join” and make it’S design similar to the arenas, with one big, fat Button for “Join Now”
Than, on this window, you add a button for “open pvp browser” which will show the current PvP browser. There you go.

Of course, being impolite to new players isn’t good thing, however, new players also have to realize some things.
First of all, if you are new, it might not be a good idea to directly jump into competitive game modes like teamQ.
In addition, you should use your common sense.
Even if it’s pvp, the game mode is called “Conquest”. So capturing points might actually be usefull. That multiple players of one team on a node, without eny enmies might not be the best for the team is also common sense.
But hey! It s the only place they are garanteed ;D

Every time, ANet mentioned a rework of the pvp reward system, I was hoping they would implement ways to get all those skins which were still missing in pvp and only available in pve.
But instead, they drastically cut down to total amount of what is obtainable via pvp.
This is just ridiculous.
Please Anet add A LOT more reward tracks, or give us ways to get all of those, as well of ways to get those skins which never had a pvp version.
An example:
On of the few skins I would like to have is the GS “essence of the foefire”. In pvp, I never could get it, as it didn’t have any pvp version.
So now, that we don’t have “pvp”- and “pve”-rewards, but only “rewards” in general.
How can I get this weapon via pvp?
It costs ~500 gold in the TP. So am I supposed to win 1666 TeamQ matches so that I can afford it? Wasn’t even said, that you only need now ~800 TeamQ wins for Dragon rank? So I have to get Dragon TWICE, in order to buy ONE skin?

Maybe, the only reason why you get 3 weapons is, because you can throw them into the mystical forge.
You usally only need the armor set once. Or the 3 times for all armor types.
But if you basicly “always” profit from the weapons, as you can throw them into the forge and pray for a precurser.
However, at least they should give us a choice if we want weapons or an armor piece.
Oh, I forgot to mention, somehow I also got an ascendend ring out of a chest.
I’m not 100% sure if it was a chest from the kryta track, or a rank up chest.
However, the ring was total crap and I probably even had a lot of luck to even get an ascended ring…which is crap.

I also just got an Ascendend armor chest out of one of the reward chests from the Arah track. So there is a way to get ascendend stats from pvp.

For me, it is exactly the other way round.
I just would want the skins, not the stats.
But I would undesrtand, that fractal skins would be pve exclusve if:
1. We get some pvp exclusive skins (not some ugly backpiece) and
2. There are pvp tracks for all skins (except fractals) in PvP. With the patch, total amount of obtainable skins was reduced to armors skins & weapons and 5 different weapons from the region tracks. This is nothing.
May I suggest taking a patient, mentoring approach?
May I suggest either not letting them into e.g. team Q or at least to implement a working MM system, so more experienced players don’t get paired up with them.
I don’t have sth against new players, but it is just annoying if there are too big gaps in between the experience of the players.

I just watched the corresponding Ready Up (Episode 9,~ Minute 25:00 / 26:00).
And now I have bad news, but I’m also rly confused.
When Hugh explains it, he sais, that you will get ONE armor piece.
What seems rly awkward, however, is that when description of the box in the ready up episode says “dungeon armor choice boxes contain a unique dungeon armor and stat combo”.
I also have some issues with the “balance” of the reward tracks.
On the Dungeon tracks, I believe every 2nd tier box contains an exotic weapon.
The Equivalent rewards of the Balthazar track on those tiers are 5 crafting shards.
I’m not that into crafting / pve, but since when are 5 crafting shards equivalent to an exotic weapon?
Also this whole ascendend materials starts kittening me off a little. I don’t care about crafting or ascendend items. But the reward tracks give me this stuff I can’t even sell. So how are pvp players supposed to get gold out of those?

I thought, the reward tracks would give pvp players a way to earn some gold.
But what do we get? A bunch of Ascenden crafting mats which are souldbound, aswell as Souldbound items.
3 weapons and 1 armor piece per track make absolutly no sense.
The kryta track isn’t any better. At the end, you get one ceremonial SKIN. It’S not even an exo, it’s just a kittenin skin, which isn’t “rare” at all.

I’d also like a serious argument why this was implemented, but I suppose:
1. Money
2. The new wardrobe system doesn’t bother pve players in any way. They always had to store skins in the bank / inventory, or to “overwrite” their current skin.
However, thank’s to the wardrobe, even if you never have played pvp, you will also be able to wear your fancy PvE armor in PvP.
They probably hope, that will bring more PvE players into PvP, as they don’t have to earn cool skins via pvp.
Same for the reward tracks.
Getting green loot and dragonite ore was probably not desired by any pvp player.
I think, those small maybe 3 vs 3 matches were, what it was designed for.
But I agree, I also find it much to small.
The place between the spawnpoints in Niflhel probably might still be a better place for matches.

The reason for this is, that the Proc chance of Generosity is already the Conditional Probability (P (A if B )) = 0.6 (or in words: 60% chance to trigger if a critical hit occurs)
What we are actually looking for, is P(A and B ) (in words: the probabilty that a crit occurs and Generosity triggers). Thus, we have to convert the formula from
_ P(A if B ) = P(A and B ) / P(B )_
into
P(A and B ) = P(A if B ) * P (B )
Given that P(A if B ) is the 60% chance of Generosity to Proc on crit and P(B) your Critchance, this results into my calculation of:
0.6 * 0.5 = 0.3
To proof that your calculation must be wrong, just think about what you actually were calculating. You calculated:

So, this isn’t only since the new patch, but now it starts to annoy me, as I want to play again.
My game constantly crashes.
With constantly I mean, somtimes I can play for a while but mostly it crashes almost every minute.
There are times, it crashes, I log in again and it immediatly crashes again.
Sometimes I don’t even manage to get in the game, as the crash report already occurs on the loading screen.
I didn’t read the whole report every time, but I’m pretty sure, at least the fatt line always appears.
Help would be very appreciated.
I tried running GW2 in admin mode, but this didn’t solve the problem.

My Feedback:
For PvP, the locker simply is awful.
You took away one of the best parts of pvp (and those aren’t very much in GW2) and replaced it with a worse new system, which forces players to pay for stuff they have already unlocked.
In addition, the only skins which can be unlocked via pvp are even more standard than it was before the patch. Dungeon armor and probably T1 cultural weapons.
That’s less variety than before. Every other skin only roots in RNG with champion loot bags.
Question in the title.
I started the Kryta track, but I’m rly scared that this “unique” skin I’ll get are just those kittenty “valley” / krytan" skins everybody who managed to get dolyak rank has.
I asked in the mists today.
One guy said, they are called “legendary XY” and look like kitten.
The fact that in the locker are no “new” skins or other stuff, makes me also doubt, that the reward might be cool.
Here’s my thought:
There are 5 region tracks and 5 races in this game.
As the valley/krytan are, as i suppose, T1 cultural weapons of the humans, the reward tracks might “reward” us with absolutly lame T1 cultural weapons, almost everybody who onc accidently stumbled into the mists already has.
