I would love a 2h axe. I would imagine the skills attached to an axe would be pretty awesome.
Journey is not a PC game, it’s a PS3 exclusive. PC GOTY is what we care about, since we’re playing on PC.
And GW2 = that game.
Oh wait, you’re just a troll.
You were apparently bored of the game 3 months ago, Fernling, yet you’re still here doomsaying. I see you and nofo have something in common. It’s obvious you’re a fanboy for some other game and are coming here to stir up a fuss.
Well sorry to break it to you, but GW2 is an excellent game with the most GOTY awards for 2012, and is doing very well and making record amounts of money. Just the way it goes.
I guess spreading misinformation and lies spices things up in your otherwise boring life xD
I’m sorry, but you are completely wrong in just about everything you just posted.
The game did not meet my expectations. Compare the actual game to the manifesto and everything else they said pre-release and you would understand why.
When you compare games, you compare games. It’s a very broad market and should not be narrowed down into specific consoles. That’s like saying you can’t compare Forza and Gran Turismo because they are xbox and ps3 exclusive. It doesn’t work that way for anyone, which is why they have an overall GOTY award.you’re also comparing genres. Would you compare Sonic to Left 4 Dead? Now you’re comparing Journey (on a console) to an MMO on PC. Don’t you have anything better to do than to troll a forum for 3 months?
I don’t troll the forums… I rarely post in the forums and I still play GW2 several times a week. Hell, I have even purchased an extra $40 in gems. I just don’t like the lack of “passion” they put into the game. It feels like the same thing Blizzard started doing to WoW years ago. I miss the work and attention they put into Gw1.

p.s. I don’t play WoW.
a) GW2 won nearly all the GOTY awards for 2012, including all the major publications:
- IGN
- G4
- PCGamer
- Gamespot
- etc
as well as minor ones like Time, Zam, etc (lol)b) Blizzard has already downsized and is continuing to downsize, and Vivendi is even looking to sell it off
c) The playerbase of GW2 has increased, we were there and actually saw the server capacity go up in both regions all at the same time in December
d) Stop spreading misinformation. If you don’t want to play the game fine, spending so much time trying to make everyone else believe it’s dying when it’s actually growing is just weird xD
From what I can see:
1) IGN was journey, G4 was borderlands 2, PCGamer was mass effect 3. Gamespot was journey.
2) Not relevant.
3) You are beyond hope if you think there are more than 2 million active players.
4)Next?
Everything you wrote above is a lie, pretty much

Gamespot video, winner 2012 = GW2
IGN 2012 game of the year = GW2

Best PC MMO game: http://www.ign.com/wikis/best-of-2012/Best_PC_MMO_Game
I’d link the rest but I can’t be bothered really.
Stop spreading your bull and go play whatever game you want to.
IGN GOTY goes to Journey.
Gamespot rated GW2 like #8 game of the year.
G4 goes to Borderlands 2.
It won a couple best mmos, but really not a win considering the new mmos in 2012.
I just linked the pages from IGN and gamespot

How is this difficult?
“pc game of the year”. Overall goty, including pc games goes to Journey. Pcgamer goes to Mass effect 3.

Lol, I was thinking he was full of it. I knew for sure it wasn’t IGN goty, and was pretty sure about the rest.
I disagree with almost everything you said.
I agree with almost everything he said. Kinda funny how that works.
mmm where u in some kind of BDSM guild because it really sounds that way
Haha, no joke… This is exactly what I was thinking when reading her post.
Using “master” and “slave” really made it sound worse than it is haha. I agree with the others. You should just leave the guild and even report them. That is not something I would ever be a part of, hell I uncomfortable just reading it.
So if you used lets say…windows for the past 10 yrs or whatever that since you have been loyal to microsoft that they should just give you everything new they make?…
You are probably gonna be shocked by this. Microsoft let me upgrade to their new version of windows for only $45, just because I used their previous product(see loyal). If I wasn’t a previous customer of theirs I would have been charged $100+ for the exact same product!
Actually, I would much rather see people drop 1-start reviews on Amazon than this talk I’ve heard about people asking for refunds. Expressing discontent with a purchase is legitimate freedom of speech, asking for a refund on a game you’ve already put 100+ hours into just seems dishonest.
They were sold a product where they were guaranteed that it wouldn’t be a gear grind. After 100+ hours in, GW2 devs are changing the direction the game is heading in. The game is now becoming a gear grind for the best gear.
False advertisement warrants calls for refunds.
Where do you draw the line though? What if the game changes 3 years from now? Most products come with some type of warranty. Since this isn’t a physical product that can break in the traditional sense, I would expect a “money-back” guarantee.
Typical products I have seen are usually along the lines of 30 days money-back guarantee.
I would like to see some kind of standard when returning MMOs. Maybe each game could have some kind of guarantee of the package(haha tommy boy). They could be like, “hey, we guarantee you will enjoy this game for at least 30 days or your money back!”. In a way this already happens though. If I’m not mistaken, Arenanet is providing a full 6 months from purchase to request a refund! I think that is spectacular, kudos to you NCsoft for allowing something like this, too generous imo, but shows a lot of character.

When is the cutoff of time played before you can be considered honest? Less than 100? Why is that? I just don’t see how someone could put a time stamp on something like this. I used to put 10-15 hours into a $40 game and was very happy with this. I logged over 1500 hours into WoW and GW1. Could I expect the same amount of hours logged in gw2? What if I played 150 hours before I realized that the games direction completely changed from what was originally offered to me and then decided to request a refund? 10% of a product used at the time of refund doesn’t sound too bad to me.
Meh, just blabbing :P
This isn’t against their Manifesto.
They’re just adding a more obtainable step between Exotic and Legendary items. Most people think this means they’re going to keep adding items higher than Legendary rarity, stat-wise.
Their loss, honestly. I think it’s great that Anet can take a step back and say, “Ahh, yeah, there should be something in between Exotic and Legendary that people can get, yet still feel accomplished about.”
Collin said in an interview that they do not believe in grinding for gear with better stats, if people want to grind they can grind for cosmetics only. That is why I put manifesto/interviews. From what I have read, there is no fine line when calling it a grind.
So, then why did people play this game when there’s several different item tiers, each with their own level of difficulty to obtain?
Also, grinding… is very subjective. If you want to have a Legendary now and have only been playing for a month, you will grind. That’s your fault, honestly, as Legendary items were meant to be long-term investment.
Also, think about this down the road: Legendary is the final step, and on a year or two, many people will have them. I’m positive they will get easier to obtain as they add more (equally stat-distributed) Legendary armor/weapons. Right now it seems somewhat grindy, but it’s because many people have short-sighted views.
The no grind philosophy was all assumed at max level. I’m sure it was said at max level somewhere. If everyone could go to their nearest vendor and purchase the new gear for a few gold, I wouldn’t say it goes against anything ArenaNet has said. The problem seems to be that people have to grind their kitten off just to get top tier gear. I personally don’t see how someone could form an argument that trying to acquire the ascended gear is not full of grind. Like you said though everyone’s definition of grind is subjective.
Also legendary gear was grind for cosmetic before the new ascended gear was released. Exotic=legendary statwise pre-patch. I personal
Oh also … Think before you go and give the game one star just because you are frustrated. Lets not bring the game down, lets instead keep feeding back to Anet what we want from the game
I think rating the game a 1 is more than fine, as long as they explain why they feel the need to rate so low. If people feel like they were lied to and would not have purchased the game because of this, then I completely agree with them rating a 1 to make a point. It sucks when changes happen that are out of your control. Something as drastic as ruining their games rating on an very reputable site might bring it to Arenanets attention that they are ruining their game.

I really don’t think it’s as bad as it appears to be. People always like to kitten on forums about everything. I haven’t seen if it’s a problem in game(logged in for an hour over the last few weeks), but if people are just as upset in game, then I would definitely suggest they make some changes.
The rating on Amazon appears to be dropping because of the added grind in game. I thought people were upset just on a couple forums, but the disappointment is popping up just about everywhere I go. There was scattered complaints in Eve, WoW, every GW2 forum and now on retail purchase sites.
It doesn’t sound like a horrible change. Is everyone upset just because it goes against the manifesto/interviews with ArenaNet saying they would not ever do this? Do you think they will change it back because of the outcry? I have a sneaky suspicion that NCsoft/Nexon is behind this, but I’m sure I will never know.
Just making conversation.
Please don’t go off topic or start any problems that would cause this thread to be closed.

Avoid Isle of Janthir. Lion’s Arch seems to be the only area with people these days. Not too sure about WvW though.
I talk a lot of crap on everything(trying to validate how true my post is), and I have to say this is probably the best change that Arena net has made. Seriously… Thank you Arenanet this is awesome.
Wow really? That is just ridiculous.
Just spend $10 on gems. I bought keys and opened 10 chests(bought 100gems with gold) and was like dang nothing! I then decided to read the update from Arenanet and it says that the chests will not contain anything halloween related until the 23rd!!!
Just a heads up.
Computer crashes when going into downed state.

My pc crashes almost every single time I go into downed state. It does not happen in any other place or any other game. This has been an issue since the games release. I have reinstalled GW2, Updated drivers/backdated drivers and it is still happening in only GW2 and only when going into downed state.
My pc will freeze on usually a solid gray screen and a constant buzz noise is the only that that can be heard. I can not end the game or do anything else, I am forced to hard reset the computer.
Thanks for the help.
I play on a server that as of right now says full. There still isn’t anybody in the zones below level 60.
Hmm, now it says my server is full… I seriously don’t know how that is possible. I will just try a couple over the next couple days I guess.
Hey guys! I am getting pretty lonely on my current server(says high, but seems like very low). I am looking for a server that has an abundance of players through most zones.
Thanks!
Funny considering half of tyria is deserted right now.
Playing TL2. Taking a break and reading through forums.
Well from being starter friendly i would have to say the human zone is the best and my favorite.
Norm lands would be second
Collect * for pie > Centaurs > Bandits > Collect * for pie > Centaurs > Bandits > Collect * for pie > Centaurs > Bandits > Collect * for pie > Centaurs > Bandits > Collect * for pie > Centaurs > Bandits > Collect * for pie > Centaurs > Bandits >…
Literally goes on for like 4 zones , F**K the human area. Norn is best IMO then Asura second.
Thats how I feel playing the human zones hehe.
Also i noticed or got the feeling…..once you go and do WvW you kinda feel like you have a sense of purpose and a reason to build a character, so you can go and fight for your server. even if you dont like PvP just being there with all the other people makes you feel like you are apart of something
I have sat for hours without getting into WvW. I play on Crystal desert, is there still a way to change the server without paying? I think my server is just extremely populated.
