I find the updates to be boring. I haven’t logged in for over a month and don’t see myself logging in anytime soon.
I read the following 2 posts, and I spit my drink all over my desk because I could not stop laughing. These are 2 sad testaments to the state of the game maker.

Wow… That Anet fella is pretty pathetic for doing that..
One of the most common complaints about the game is that the cosmetic progression is a bust and I can’t help but wholeheartedly agree with that assessment. The transmutation system needs to be sloped and replaced by a proper wardrobe system in which you unlock skins. My bank is filled with cosmetic items I’ll never get to use due to the sheer hassle of it all and I dare to wager that I’m not alone in that.
I agree. It’s no wonder their “cosmetic progression” failed, making them add vertical progression into the game. GW2 has one of the worst cosmetic systems I have seen in any of my recent mmos. Even F2P games like DCUO and Rift have wardrobe systems that are so much more user friendly.
There is no reason to talk like that in the game. I am actually really happy with how they handle these offenses.
I would rather see all the resources put into permanent content.
I find it odd that Anet would keep up the manifesto while removing the clarification.
Many have found it it misleading and confusing, but instead of removing/editing it, they remove their only clarification instead!

We were getting karma way too fast before. I don’t think there is an issue with the acquisition of skill points.

I’m always running into ppl in every region. It seems like every time I turn around I’m tripping over some other player including in those 25 – 70 zones. Maybe it’s just your server…
What server are you playing on where you are triping on other players in mid level zones?
I play on TC and I’m lucky to have 1 other person helping me with DEs in mid zones.
I just miss the healer part of the trinity.

Some games reward based on skill and some games reward on time spent. This game is a time spent one.
Whoever paid that much must feel kind of dumb now that they are on ebay for as low as $125 now.
If you have the gold, you can craft to max level in a night.

I actually feel bad for you, Chap. You seem like such a great guy, but get the kitten end of things because SPvP isn’t important enough for Anet’s resources. I just hope they don’t blame you for this mess.
I haven’t taken PvP in this game serious since launch, but I’m still checking in(all the time) in hopes that things will change in my favor.
At 1:07:50 it is also talked about they don’t want any kind of grind for gear. you will obtain the best stats quickly after hitting 80 and you will only be different by looks alone.
Not exactly what you are looking for, but they specifically state(more than once) that they are bringing over the exact same gear philosophy as they had with GW1, which we now know isn’t true.

how are ascended items a gear treadmill anyway? after ascended armor comes out there will be nothing else after that.
You are just guessing that they won’t add anything else.
They say, “we will not add another tier of gear in 2013 after ascended.”, when they should be saying, “we have no plans to ever add another tier of gear after ascended.”
If anything it is more likely that they will add another tier.
They said they wouldn’t add any statistically better gear that takes a long time to acquire. Ascended is what they were saying wouldn’t be added.
I actually blame the lack of healing/tanking for the zergy gameplay that we currently have.
Guild Wars 1 was what made me buy Guild Wars 2.
Let’s say a decade from now ArenaNet releases a Guild Wars 3, I can’t say I’d buy GW3 no matter how much they hype it and claim it’s “revolutionary and unique.”

I didn’t really notice a decrease in waypoint cost.
Its too much filler and temp content for me. So much of these LS updates seem rather pointless and grindy. I am getting burnt out on this more than anything.
The updates seem to severely lack quality imo.
I am getting really sick of all this time gated crap. The game should reward you on skill too.
I agree with there being too much daily stuff. The game features more dailies than even WoW, which is sub based and known for dailies being part of endgame.
GW2 is a grind? I played Aion for almost 3 years, I will show you grind.
And yet Aion is still more fun than this.
Subjective. Aion sucked for a whole lot of people. If Aion was more fun than this, more people would currently be playing Aion than this…and that’s not the case as far as I can tell.

Write something where the main character has to choose between an orphanage and a hospital being destroyed by bandits. These are your characters. This is where the OP needs to end up. One of these things has to happen.

It really wouldn’t be. If you look at the personal stories, each of them has to have specific gameplay requirements. I’m relatively sure writers didn’t design the personal stories, but game makers did, and the writers were asked to fill in the middle.
It may be that writers came up with some ideas for the personal story but it’s complete clear to me that gameplay trumps writing in the personal story. It’s constrained by what has to happen and when it has to end.
I wasn’t sure how that is normally handled. Thanks for explaining.

It hasn’t ever been an issue for me. I don’t think it’s a big enough deal to worry about.
I would just recommend that you guest until a spot opens up.
Unfortunately, the tournament won’t even be played at PAX. It will simply take place during PAX, but at a completely separate venue.
Really? I thought they were waiting for PAX so they could hold the tournament there.
Nothing about a legendary takes skill. It just requires a ton of time or a thousand bucks.
I was working on getting 100%, stopped for now though. It was taking me about 1 hour per 1%, overall not too bad.
