I think it is about as good and bad as every other mmo out there.
I would try to avoid Queensdale Tarnished Coast. Now, that is the most toxic community I have ever seen in a game.
It’s easily the most grindy mmo I’ve played for any length of time.
There’s a reason it’s often referred to as Grind Wars 2.
1. Removal of downed state
2. Dedicated healers
3. Pvp game modes
4. Ability to cast in the air
5. Weapon dyes/better weapon and armor models

Not with this update.
The game averages about 400 viewers on twitch. If you want to take anything from that.
Be glad you can at least get Tequatl down…. on Gandara it is almost always a failure. I still miss turret defender achiev so bye bye for the title which others got during the bugged easy mode period at the revampedTequatl launch.
And 1790 dragonite ore and karma sips are very nice loot too. I would gladly give you my exotics for that DrO.
If you care about it, join TTS as a second guild and get your achievement. Or guest to one of the servers that does it every day at reset time. It’s not impossible to do this if you want to.
I kill Tequatl with TTS several times a week.
I thought you were done with the official forums? Lol
Assuming you are vayne. You write like vayne and have the same username as vayne on reddit.
We knew you couldn’t resist posting here.

Sorry everybody, I was wrong earlier.
The crafting stations did not get moved to Vigil’s Keep. However, you can travel directly from Vigil’s Keep to one of the other cities of Tyria at no cost via asura gate travel, all of which have crafting stations.
Creating additional inconveniences to make a quick buck is really bad imo. But, what do I know, I just complain all the time.
why is that patch good? we got nothing more than zerg event awful loot ONE, i repeat, ONE cinematic and the destruction of a main city which is probably the only fun thing.
Yep, one of my least favorite updates ever released by arenanet.
It’s a much larger grind to go from level 80 to 80 with ascended than it would be to go from 80 to 100 with exotic. Here’s to me hoping that if they decide to raise the cap, they will make acquiring gear at 100 grind free.
From what I can remember, they have always had agony at a certain level.
One time use. You can buy transmutation crystals to transfer the skin after using.
It’s already been discussed in 20 to 30 threads over the past year and a half, and the common opinion is No, the game does not need it and it is not wanted.
It’s also been said over and over that the forum community is a minority and doesn’t actually represent what the majority wants.
And your point? It’s a bad idea, most people responding do not like it, and it has no place in GW, period. If you want open world PvP, there are more then enough other games out there, help yourself. This subject is the same as mounts and duels, it’s been suggested before, discussed to death, and there is no reason to keep creating duplicate threads except the laziness of posters who will not take the time to search first or vain enough to think they are the first to have this idea..
You and a handful of people on this specific forum think it’s a bad idea. If you pull up those threads asking the same thing as this, you will see that there is also a handful of people that would like PvP server(s). Quit trying to act like the majority of players don’t want this type of thing, we don’t know how many are for or against this.

Maybe they will make the top level 90 gear easy to obtain, kinda like exotic was at 80. No more ascended at 90. Would only take a couple hours to level and gear up and they can undo their huge mistake from 2012.
I’m guessing we will see a level increase when they open up a big part of land. Maybe Crystal desert or something.
Every class but ranger and nécro.
it doesn t surprise me anymore that is srill a broken class. Who cares? Not dev….
Hanging out on my necro with friends.
Are you actually a developer?
Blackgate and welcome back.
Wow, what happened to TC and the other one?
TC has gone pretty much dead in any mid level zone. Not sure what happened, as it used to be one of the most popular ones.
Nope, WoW has it, so Gw2 fans won’t allow it.
They said that they’re going to change them.
The game has only been out for a year and a half.
This exact same thing happened to the user Vayne, and he was able to contact support and get the gems refunded. I will find the thread he created, he keeps it updated with what he had to do.
I was wrong, I think they just transferred him back for free.

Mainly WoD. Wildstar does look pretty awesome too.

They can’t even make it possible to sort by armor type in the trading post and you expect them to do something like this?
Edit
Sorry, this wasn’t a fair post. I don’t know the circumstances behind not allowing race changes or why we can’t filter the tp.

It would be nice if someone decent would actually cast the games. As of now, this blu guy is extremely annoying and not very good at it.
Maybe it will be like Microsoft and every other game they make will go good.
I have long breaks in between my playtime when it comes to GW2 and every time I come back there seems to be less and less people, I play on Tarnished coast.
I don’t necessarily log in around new patches, so can’t be too sure that it’s people being funneled off into a single zone causing the rest of the world to be empty.
I really feel like it’s not doing so well when people complain about their servers population and are told to guest to Tarnished Coast. Tarnished Coast only seems to be good for Queensdale, new content and sometimes Cursed shores.
Have you seen them play on the twitch streams? I don’t think they could do Tequatl pre-buff.
I thought that was pretty obvious. They want to blow your minds by doing something so devastating. I don’t think anybody will really care if LA disappears.
Guild Wars 2 Flat PvE Square miles = 58
Vanilla WoW Flat Square miles = 80Using the same methods found in this infograph
Which spawned from this threadDo note that this simply a flat surface measurement.
Relevance?
To the back and forth kitten posting between you and devata, none.
To those discussing the world size, project size, and whatever worthless derailment they can attempt to grasp at, a small reminder.
The world feels terribly small, but I blame that on the teleporting. It could also be that there is only about 4-5 different style of zones.
Ouch, definitely not as nice as the T3 cultural.
If we aren’t taking in account the keys that drop in the PS, I would say the black lion keys are more rare.
How about a legendary quest line for the precursor. It would require pure talent with an emphasis on zero grind. We have enough grind with the other requirements to get a legendary.
I believe objects (barrels, rockslides, other things) also do not permit triggering of critical hits and any sigils that proc on critical hits (fire, air) do not trigger when attacking such objects. As ranger pets rarely attack objects you are attacking (other than centaur weapon stands in harathi hinterlands) rangers are also immediately at a disadvantage when attacking said objects, especially in conjunction with conditions (shortbow #1 bleeding, etc) also not applying to such objects (I know,
how can a barrel bleed", etc). Poison condition should be applied as Acid when attacking an object, and other conditions should have a logical alternative as well for when being applied to objects in order to maintain effectiveness of the player when attacking such items. There’s definitely some work that needs to be done in regards to objects and the damage types they are susceptible to.
I would also include the big bosses that act as objects. That is a huge problem in my eyes.
I know that this won’t be everything, but was still expecting the changes to be about 10 times bigger.
I would much prefer that players were completely unaware that instances of zones exist. Please Anet, no more workarounds, just fix it.
How? I don’t see a way for them to fix the overflows.
Just consider an implementation that works for the intended purpose. WoW has cross realm zones and there I am never aware that I am in an instanced zone. In GW2 I am painfully aware that I am in an instanced zone. This should be fairly straightforward.
Gw2 has some major technical limits in this area. That’s why a single zone can’t have much more than 125 or so people playing at once. And that is with each zone being instanced from each other. In WoW each zone can hold much more people and made it where you dont even notice going from zone to zone.
The first time I ever did an instanced event with other players was Caudecus Manor. About half way through, the leader of the group quit and we all dropped out. How can anyone say that instancing is better.
Welcome to playing with humans in a game. It actually is not a problem posed by instancing, rather it is a problem posed by playing with humans. And, to be honest, it is not a problem.
That team kick on instance owner dc is another problem by itself which needs to be addressed as well.
The ability to kick is what is missing from adding raid content to the open world. You need the ability to kick to deal with griefers and the occasional player that is simply not up to the task at hand. It happens and instancing, with the ability to kick, solves the problem.
It would be nice to deal have an immediate way to deal with people who grief in the open world. A few days ago when trying marionette, there was a group of rangers that would purposely play on lane 2 to try and mess up the boss fight. They actually thought it was funny.
They talk about wanting to have more permanent content, I think they should start with SAB.

Amount of content =/= quality of game.
I have over 1000 hours in Dawn of War 2, and I would say 75% of that is playing 3v3 on Argus Desert Gate. The same game mode on the same map. And guess what? It’s incredibly fun.
Now, GW2 has tons more maps that that, more game modes, more options for class (vs. factions in an RTS) and just overall much more content. So why do I have less than 1000 hours in GW2? Because, despite all the content, I don’t find it fun.
No doubt that there is a quality issue with these living story updates. Although there are a couple little things that were really well done(SAB)
I would really like the option to queue for a zone that is currently full. This queue would allow you to leave the zone and wander as many other zones as you like without kicking you from the queue. Just like the WvW queue.
I don’t know about you guys, but I got bored of running around a Lornars pass overflow with a handful of other people for an hour plus waiting to get into my servers zone.
^ but many people don’t want instanced raid. That’s why it is much better to do private overflow instead! >
Many people do want this type of content instanced. The best thing for Anet to do is to apply critical thinking and make this content instanced. I’m fine if people want to call it a private overflow rather than an instance. GW2 has all manner of confusing terms and labels and one more won’t hurt anything.
If this becomes another raiding game, where people wait around in cities for their queues to pop, I know I won’t be very happy.
This hasn’t been true in the “raiding game” for over 4 years now. Dungeon finder can be queued from anywhere. The PvP browser, being either battlegrounds or arena can be queue from anywhere. The same goes for raid finder/scenarios/flex raid.
People keep bringing up this argument even though it hasn’t been relevant for years.
Give me a gem store item to level up and I’ll give you full access to my bank account. eye wink
Just buy gold and level all the crafting disciplines.
NO The P2W cycle must be completed!
I wouldn’t see a problem with selling levels directly through the cash shop. It would actually be really nice, as long as they are reasonably priced, say 10 levels for 250 gems.
Give me a gem store item to level up and I’ll give you full access to my bank account. eye wink
Just buy gold and level all the crafting disciplines.
This itself doesn’t seem too bad, but like others have said, it will likely lead to worse things. Because of this, this item should not be allowed to stay.
If cash shop sales are low, I would like to see them open a thread, or perhaps a game wide poll on what people would like to see in the cash shop and what they think to be unacceptable.
I’ve actually enjoyed some of the music since soule left.
^— They’re working on adding new music to the game, and each new campaign in GW1 came with it’s own main theme which was subsequently used on the character login screen. So things can change xD.
Do you know who will be doing the newly added music?
Interestingly enough, somebody over at mmorpg.com (a fairly popular MMO website) just recently started a thread asking players which MMO most disappointed them. Not the worst game, but the MMO that least lived up to player expectations for it and least fulfilled it’s potential. Tons of players posted their choice, and GW2 was the runaway winner … even beating out SWTOR.
MMORPG.com is a joke. There are people on that forum who have been dogging GW2 since it came out even though they don’t play it anymore.
I think the same could be said for every single forum that discusses GW2.
Why is it that people feel they have to sit around. Go do a few events, gather some stuff, kill a few things….you know that is playing the game
^^ Exactly.
Personally, I try to make as few assumptions as possible as to how others should be managing their lives.
One would think that would be the same in a game where “play how you want” was on repeat ad infinitum before launch.
That’s why I think certain events like this should be instanced, they could even make the instanced version more difficult for the hardcore guilds.
Gw1 didn’t have a cash shop too late in its life even then things were account bound and unlimited uses the only xpac gw1 had was only 15£ also.
Cash shop offering unique skins in a game about cosmetics or hidden In rng boxes and the crystals to use them at 80, they make more cash of this “fluff” as ppl want to be unique why not add them skins as a Rare drop as well as cash shop same with pets if they are making the money off the box sales alone. Heck /tinfoil hat in beta and launch by bags were full of dye, now never see one.
It’s double dipping because of the box price, it’s fine for f2p games to have cash shops as you paid nothing in the first place.
Pretty sure GW1 had a store earlier than ‘late in its life’. Unless, early in the second year is ‘late in its life’.
The Guild Wars In-Game Store (formerly called “The Guild Wars Official Store”), introduced in the July 28 2006 game update.
Having an in-game store has been with the Guild Wars franchise almost since inception.
They added the cash shop not long before they stopped updating it. Resources moved to GW2 and the newly added cash shop helped to make sure there wouldn’t be a problem with funds.
Some of which were even sold for real money.
And technically all of them were in GW1 seeing as you had to pay for the expansion
Your shield arm must be getting tired. Your defence for them is getting weaker.
Nobody has a stronger arm than Lordkrall. Well, maybe Karizee and Vayne.
