I am actually hoping to see most of the player housing items in the cash shop. Maybe that will help them remove the weapons and armor from it.
Town clothes wouldn’t work for spvp/wvw, but would be cool in the PvE world.
Ugh, raiding. Next thing we know, they’ll add traditional questing and the holy trinity.
So many things they said they wouldn’t do in the beginning, and here we are with most of those things being done now. It seems Anet is taking GW2 further and further away from what it was supposed to be, and turning it into your traditional cookie cutter MMO now.
I Would throw my money at the screen if they brought gw1 style monk back. That includes full blown healing and prot.
I am a huge fan of the holy trinity and could see this game doing it better than everything else. This would never happen though, it would mean them reworking nearly the whole game.
I hate Steampunk
Not buying
I love steampunk, it’s just these are ugly.
People are buying these without RNG, release more armor Anet!
I’m pretty sure they said that it is because of their $ cost to keep track of each individuals conditions.
Something to do with bandwidth.
Part of a quote from colin, the only thing i could find right now.
“Colin: Currently no. Interesting statistic for you: every condition in the game costs server bandwidth. ‘Cause we have to track how often the condition is running, what the duration of that condition is and what the stack is. So the more stacks we allow them more expensive it gets because we’re tracking every additional stack on there.?

Probably because it would make it really awkward to get a clear view of what’s going on.
Same reason most caves, and even houses in 3rd person games have large rooms and high ceilings, otherwise the camera is clipping through walls or jammed right behind you.
I disagree. I’ve seen it done in multiple mmos without issues.
I blame the stupid gathering daily for the reason of mass deforestation in Tyria.
Haha, I like that.
It seems odd that we don’t have any areas that actually feel like you’re in a forest. Is this just something overlooked? Is there limitations in the game that doesn’t allow it?
Well, I’m happy they are listening to the people that want raids, even though it is the minority wanting them.
Hopefully they will add duels, other pvp modes and mounts to the game in the future.
I don’t see why they couldn’t add an off topic forum. WoW, lotro, dcuo, rift and what seems to be every single other mmo’s official forum that I checked has a way to discuss things that are not game related.
These are the official forums of these games too. There are plenty general gaming forums for discussing all sorts of games, why does anyone need to discuss in the forums specifically for GW2?
It’s just a nice thing to have. You can discuss movies, books and everything else with fellow GW2 players all in one convenient location.
I would ask, “why not?”

I prefer crafting now. Not too fun for alts imo.
The last week I’ve been on a marathon to finish off a bunch of zones for world completion on a couple of my characters. I cleared 11 zones and got nothing but Transmutation Stones. Is this simply a case of rng kicking me in shins (certainly possible)? Or have the keys been removed from the list of possible awards for map completion?
I’ve too been working on it over the last week. My results are the same.
Just to clarify:
It’s actually significantly cheaper than a sub fee. The $20 you spend is the initial cost. It could also cost $10 + Gold, or no money at all if you have enough gold.
Once you have a server, it costs 480 gems for 20 days, 960 for 40 days, 1440 for 60 days. That’s less than $10/mo if only one person is supporting the server. Anyone can apply time to servers. Also, don’t forget you can convert gold to gems.
Just to clarify:
It appears that the majority’s issue is that SPvP players don’t have a reliable way to earn gold to convert to gems. It is kind of odd to expect SPvP players to have to purchase gems with $, considering PvE players are able to earn the gold needed to purchase anything they wish from the cash shop.
A lot of people don’t know about this yet, but there is an organization coordinating GvG matches along with Leaderboards to track scores.

Sign your guild up to get involved in the fun!
I really hate seeing this type of thing. The list of things that the community is having to do because Anet isn’t adding it to the game is getting too high! Anet needs to add these to the game, and if they plan to, they should let us know their intentions.
GW2LFG
ghetto GVG
I even saw a suggestion on gw2guru that says to buy a custom pvp server to use as a guildhall.
Ideally, they would be rewarded for skillful play, doubt that will happen though. I suspect that they will be had by clicking “F”(not my actual bind) 500 times or behind a cash shop RNG chest.
I’m happy to see that some people like the new armor sets. Glad to see that they are not locked behind RNG.
Just waiting for Anet to release some armor that I think actually looks good.
If they weren’t so ugly I would.
Of course you know this, but I would just try to get enough gold to convert to gems if anything. It’s probably around 3g per 100 gems right now. If the armor is 800 gems, you are looking at just over 24g. I sold holo wings for 26g at the beginning of the dragon bash alone. I have about 3g to my name right now, but that is a totally different story.
I would be happy enough if they are a direct purchase and not RNG. I don’t like the armor skins anyways, so I don’t have to worry about this.
I think gw2 is just a mixture of other things out there. It is like gw1, wow and dcuo combined.
It is odd that we don’t have any forest areas.
we want all you to see how amazing pvp is in gw2
PvE is good, PvP is one of the worst I have played in an mmo.
I’ve been working on world completion on tarnished coast, and there is generally someone near me. I would recommend guesting here and see if it works out better for you.
I actually decided that high level fractals are not my interest. With this decision I decided to spend all my laurels on unid dyes, will be doing the same with all future laurels too. I guess exotics are good enough for me.
Favorite would be the human/centaur areas. Least favorite is the charr/branded areas. I am sure the crystal desert will be my favorite though.
Where are these npcs? I agree on the second one.
I’ve been working on world completion for the last few days on TC and see people everywhere. Mid zones aren’t packed with people, but it seems like there is always at least a couple people around me.
Im just hoping the new armor sets coming out wont be locked behind rng boxes. I have no problem with the stuff being for sale in the shop, as long as it is a direct purchase.
(edited by Fernling.1729)
Signet of capture
Many more skills
2H axes (im sure they will come)
Monk
Paragon
Land spears
Petless ranger
Dyeable weapons
Build templates
Gw1 farming
Storytelling
Im sure there are other things, just like there are things I would take from gw2.
I don’t think it matters that much whether Anet plays the game or not, since to run into the problems most people run into, an Anet employee would have to play for hundreds if not thousands of hours. This isn’t reasonable.
And even if you play the game…no one says an Anet employee is going to play every aspect of the game.
How do you feel about Anet having a PTR?
I heard the NSA scans through every one of them before reaching their destinations. Built by the government. Their bird take on the six million dollar man. Haven’t you noticed there is no bird droppings…
Pretty cool screenshot. It’s too bad there is an ugly cow in it.
There are indeed!
We’ve had a lot of feedback from folks asking for more difficult places in the game that can be more rewarding to play in. Our intent with Orr (and Southsun) is to create areas that are more fun/difficult for groups to play through event chains, with events that scale better when larger groups of players show up than the rest of the game, rather than the old versions that fell apart when more than a group or so of players showed up.
Thus the continual updates this year to make the creatures in Orr have more varied skills, the swap over to the new event scaling system that creates veterans/champions as content scales up, and the updates to Southsun to have more playable content. The one thing that’s really missing is the rewards to help make playing in these locations more even exciting and rewarding than they are now.
We want champions to be more rewarding, so places like Orr/Southsun where events can scale up to create champions become one of the more fun and rewarding places in the game to play, since events there can be champion on demand generators to an extent. We’d also like to tie in additional unique rewards to the temple chains, to make those more worthwhile and differentiate them from the giant boss encounters (which we’ll also be upgrading to be more exciting) to give a reason to do each in a day. We’d also like to add more value and use to blue/green items, so things like killing vets feels more rewarding when those type of items drop when doing those events in Orr as well.
And of course, we’d like to remove culling from PvE as well so you can experience these events in all their glory when they do scale up.
We’ll go into specifics on all of this in an updated version of the Gw2 in 2013 blog post sometime in July focusing on our plan for the 2nd half of the year and how we plan to improve the core game experience. As a reminder, you can find the original detailing our high level plan here: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/colin-johanson-on-guild-wars-2-in-the-months-ahead/
Thank you very much for replying. I really look forward to see what you bring to Orr later on down the road.
Current event, run around in Lion’s Arch pressing F.
Then go outside and kill 300 mobs.
ARE WE HAVING FUN YET?
I’m having fun with dragon ball and with my new helm.
Wish you were here.
Does having a cosmetic helm actually increase your….fun?
Or is it just the combination of dragon ball and your new cosmetic helm?
Serious question, but expect you to say that it makes for better roleplaying or something.Making my character look cool DOES increase my fun. It’s the one item I was sort of missing from my charr warrior. He looks very cool, and I think that’s fun. In fact, I find completing a character’s looks quite satisfying. So do many people.
I just find it interesting, which is why I asked. I personally have some gear in mind, like a legendary, but I don’t think It’s going to increase my “fun”. I guess I would just call it neat or cool.
Calling people trolls because they ask questions that you don’t think fit is real mature.

I originally found WvW to be boring and I still do. The only noticeable difference is the removal of culling.
Oh man, I really hope these aren’t a real thing. It is a bit too much for my liking.
I actually don’t mind it haha. I hate the cliche zombies, but like how it feels as if you are actually in enemy territory. Wouldn’t surprise me if I’m in the minority though.
I just spent 30 minutes or so there, and I didn’t see even 1 other player. This is on Tarnished coast too.
I’m just wondering if we know of Anet’s intentions on bringing players back to Orr. Cursed shore seems to be the only part of Orr that has any decent amount of players. I don’t like having to play in Queensdale just to have an abundance of players around me.
It would be very nice.
I personally can’t decide between Bolt and Incinerator for my thief. Both seem really well made and just in general cool. My necromancer will be getting Howler.
So what legendary(s) are you going for?
How close are you to your goal?
Bolt or Incinerator? (Just help me out here K?)
How has your day been going?
1. Sunrise for my warrior
2. Just started working on it. I don’t have a precursor, none of the mats and about 3g in my name. I am okay with this as it will give a long term goal.
3. Incinerator
4. I quit gw2 because of it being boring, just started playing again the other day and cant get enough. I spent multiple hours playing today with one arm while holding my sleeping daughter (5 months old) in the other. It’s been a relaxing day.
That pistol is cool.
It would be cool If w e could complete the daily up to 7 times per week at anytime we wanted. Hard for me to explain… we could. Have the option to do all 7 dailies in one day of the week if wanted, or 2 of the 7 in one day and the rest the next. That way the people that cant log in every day gets a chance to be rewarded with the same amount of effort.
From phone, so excuse any broken writing.
I don’t understand how peoiple have to “go for dailies”. You mean you don’t gather as you’re running by stuff anyway? You mean you don’t end up killing 50 things while just running around? You mean to tell me crafting something or visiting a laurel vendor taks you so far out of your game.
I call BS. These things mostly happen naturally. Maybe at the end of my play session I have to finish one in a couple of minutes, but usually I finish the daily without even thinking about it.
And no I don’t think you’re playing wrong. I think you’re exhausted all the content. It’s like any game when you’ve exhausted the content. You get bored. How many hours have you played OP?
Not everyone plays the same as you though.
Why assume everyone is running around areas randomly, doing dailies along the way? Everyone’s play style is different. Not everyone is constantly running around zones randomly to do their dailies as they come about. And not everyone can play for hours straight, just picking up their dailies as they go.
Some people are only running dungeons. They have to go out of their way to do dailies. Or those in WvW or SPvP. They have to do the same thing. Or how about those that only have a couple hours to play a day? They have to go out of their way to get it done before they log off.
For those that want the best gear in the game, they have to do the dailies every day to get it. And most the time for those people, they have to go out of their way to do it. So in order for them to progress, they have to do dailies. Which ends up being their “endgame” cause it’s the only way to get the gear.
So while you spend all your time roaming around the world randomly, taking care of your dailies at a leisurely pace, others are having to go out of their way to get them done so they can progress. We don’t all have the luxury of time, nor do we all have the same play style.
You don’t have to play for hours straight to do most of your dailies. This is ridiculous.
One day, the guild wanted to do a dungeon. By the time I was done with one dungeon, I had three dailies. Another time we were in WvW, just running around. I got two dailies, and I hasn’t even stopped to gather. These dailies are designed so you’re bound to get a couple of them, almost no matter what you’re doing (except SPvP which has it’s own daily). Anything else you do in the game, you’re likely to get a big head start on dailies.
Today we did a guild mission and I had 2 dailies by the time I was done. It’s not playing the game the way I play. It’s playing the game at all.
Hell, if all you do is follow the meta events, you’re bound to get dailies.
If they are so easy to get that you don’t even have to try and you get them by simply playing the game, why even have them at all? Artificial content/progression?
It does have some terrible voice acting, but the story is just as bad. In this case I just don’t even play with sound and skip all cutscenes.
Oh man, I would be so happy for an update about sky pirates.
I hate cash shop rng and rng on items that are available for a limited time. I dont mind other things to be extremely time consuming (I think precursors okay right now) as long as it is cosmetics only. If you enjoy the game just keep playing and eventually you will have your legendary.
I absolutely hate Asura, Sylvari and Charr. I will never even consider playing one of them. I would like to play a Norn, but their running feels too sluggish. I am a guy that only plays humans in this game.
