i’m honestly not looking forward to playing you guys AGAIN. if the colors we played as got switched up a little bit then that might add some level of freshness to the match. but even 2 hours after the reset it still feels like a 2 week old match.
i know that it’s no ones fault for the way the matches are set up, but i (and a not insignificant number of other people) are kind of bored with it. defending the same position, against the same zergs, trying to take back the same towers.
its like 3 week old refrigerator pizza, yeah its still edible. but its stale and tastes bland and old on the tongue.
practically a brand new game and already people are trying to dictate a meta
the beauty of the engineer class, and the reason a lot of people call it a difficult class to play, is that it has so many great and uniquely different builds.
if you are tired of running a long range grenade build then maybe a close range flamethrower build is more your style. i play a lot of WvWvW and was getting incredibly tired of fighting thieves who just spam invisibility. so i grabbed a flamethrower and now stack vulnerability, bleeding and burning on them while they are in stealth.
i think my record is downing 3 thieves while they were trying to stealth away.
this has nothing to do with the regular discussion, but does TC have any other players then thieves?
playing in EB today and started to get frustrated when it took 15 minutes to down a perma invisible thief. then i ran into another thief immediately after that. then another, and another and another.
i played against at least 15 different people, all thieves. when we took a tower, it was defended by all thieves. in one hour i found only 2 people from TC who where not thieves.
if anything needs to be fixed it would simply be balance issues that have already been addressed and fixed in sPvP
if you are a thief then you can’t hold a point while invisible (by that same token the debuff that prevents you from going back into stealth immediately after you leave it needs to be fixed)
armor runes need to be fixed so that they all actually work in PvE and WvW (i’m looking at you runes of lyssa)
all of our traits need to be fixed so that they all work, or at least do what they say they do (powerful potions, rifled turret barrels, ect ect)
if you are looking for some WvW fun then i would recommend you come over to Yaks bend.
we are a generally polite server that is pretty friendly to new players in WvW. often times if you are new to it we will pair you up with one of the smaller guilds so you can run with them and get a feel for how things work. our entire server has a mumble just for WvW, we also are definitively anti botting and hacking. the guild leaders and commanders are in frequent contact with one another, if you are caught hacking you are reported and kicked.
on two separate occasions (one i was present for) hackers used exploits to steal an orb from our opponent while we where being beaten. our guild leaders stopped the match, coordinated with our opponent and gave the orb back. that action alone and the fact that we did it not once but twice is a good indicator of what kind of a server we are.
i was pretty surprised by the influx of new players to FA
from my point of view it looks like we have peek hours that are just slightly out of sync with one another so that we keep on attacking each other on the tail end of each others most active times.
i’ve been having a lot of fun fighting against FA and i hope that they (and yaks) can keep up their momentum and continue to have some pretty epic battles for the rest of the week. that said i just wish more of the European guilds had transferred to ET to help them out.
-yet another yaker
order of whispers pistol is pretty awesome looking
it would be this one. http://min.us/lbki0mFbWAmryP
i’ve found that the ratios for improvement on the superior siege versus the regular siege is a little wonky
for example, the arrow cart and catapult both seem to have a 50% damage improvement over their regular counterparts. the ballista seems to have a 100% improvement however (regular hits for around 5k, improved hits for around 9-10k)
-siege timing out.- for boasting a persistent battlefield the fact that your siege times out at all is kind of a let down (to put it mildly)
-borderlands jumping puzzle door- i don’t know if it was a choice by the developers to lock this so that no one can access it or if it is a multi server glitch. for now it’s assumed to be a bug
-orbs- a single glance at the Wv3 forums can tell you all you need to know about what the communities opinion on this issue is.
-server transfer- same as above
-zergs- right now the game is skewed to the extreme spectrum in favor of them, to the point where its not about siege placement, it’s not about teams working together or groups using resources wisely. the fact of the matter is that the larger zerg will always win. second period.
-no love for defense- this ties into the above but more then that i’ve noticed that it doesn’t matter if i’ve done tens-hundreds of thousands of damage to attackers when defending a structure. getting gold for defending is harder then driving a nail with a drinking glass. on the flip side i’ve gotten gold for attacking by not even doing a single point of damage, just being nearby when it happened.
-we need a comeback mechanic- there are lots of suggestions for this; getting rid of the siege lock if you are such and such far behind, being able to call a truce with the second server so you can both gang up on the dominate one, stat and health boosts, remove repair costs for the losing servers.
i don’t seek to make suggestions on how to “fix” Wv3, merely to bring to light a few gripes and problems . feel free to add to the list if you have any i missed
the repair cost does indeed increase the more pieces of armor you have that get damaged. a normal repair cost for me is usually about 10 silver, which can add up pretty quickly if my server is getting pubstomped.
