if arching slice did increased crit damage it would be pretty neat.

say up to 50% increased crit damage, totally balanced since its not a guaranteed crit or anything.

or how about it knocked the opponent on their back, or had a massive knock back effect. how about making arching slice a boon hate skill, have it strip more boons the greater your adrenaline.

i have a warrrior and a guardian that i play in WvW

keep in mind that this is bias towards the warrior but WvW is a little easier on the Guardian. Warrior has much better nuking capabilities, can spread a lot more pain quicker and in a larger area then the warrior. but the guardian has a lot more ways to stay alive longer then the warrior and it’s like they say “your damage per second is zero when you are dead on the ground”

guardian is more focused on helping your team stay live. warrior is better at helping your team do more damage.

warrior can be a lot faster then guardian. in fact i would say that the three fastest classes over a long distance are elementalist, warrior and then thief. (granted thief has teleporting skills to catch a warrior if they are chasing them)

neither class is that good at solo roaming.

sounds reasonably, i would also like to add that more shield skins in general be added to the game. i enjoy using the shield immensely, but find myself with only a handful of skins that i like.

that was actually kind of fun. i don’t know how much damage you would actually do with your auto attacks, but it would still be pretty high, and you would be incredibly tanky.

you don’t get any experience or karma for buying and sitting to make sure that upgrades go though

but if you are part of a zerg going around flipping things then you gain money, karma, experience and now WvW exp.

i’ve actually had people yell at me for upgrading things, because it makes it slower for it to get flipped and therefore cuts into their farming.

i’ve stopped calling it a zerg, because they aren’t zerging any more. they are farming.

i agree, thank you dev team for removing culling from WvW.

it added so much more to the game when i played i last night, similar to when you first get glasses. there is just so much more stuff to see, things that you didn’t even know you where suppose to be able to see.

it also gave me some good ideas for new siege placements, so watch for that Dragonbrand and Sea of Sorrows

i think it would be far fairer if you got WvW points for upgrading stuff instead.

right now if you spend an hour upgrading a tower then you get; negative gold, no experiance, no karma, no loot and its probably just going to get flipped anyway by a zerg of farmers.

i actually main both a warrior and a mesmer.

some people say that warrior is the easiest profession, and it’s true that it’s the easiest to learn, but there are so many little things about it that if you can master make it have so much more depth then most people realize.

i stand by both classes as the best in the game. and this patch does nothing to persuade me otherwise.

The original nerf, which anet though it was too heavy, WAS BETTER. I’d rather have revealed everytime I pop out of stealth than this 4 seconds revealed.

Reading posts like this makes me wonder how the other seven professions manage to survive without stealth.

the flame turret got a buff, i don’t know if anyone noticed but the radius on it’s smoke field is huge.

like pre-nerf smoke bomb huge.

also the whole toolbelt skill having half as long a cooldown and the turret actually hitting targets now.

i’m not really personally interested in making a legendary weapon, but i would like to someday make the longsword infinite light.

the big problem is that the charged lodestones are prohibitively expensive. since in the course of normal play there is almost no chance of me ever getting so much as 10 charged lodestones, let alone 250 i would like to offer up a suggestion to alleviate the market squeeze on lodestones in general.

by allowing us to trade mystic clovers for lodestones arena net would essentially allow us to trade a little bit of gold, karma and skill points for what we really want. lodestones.

this would help deflate the market, bring down the bull market on lodestones and allow us to do something with the surplus of skill points a lot of people have.

in PvE i like the sigil of speed, nothing quite like have 3 minutes of swiftness

for WvW sigil of accuracy, force, fire or air is pretty good.

for sigil of force if you take the greatsword trait [slashing power] and [berserkers power] the minor trait [attack of opportunity] and have a full adrenaline bar, then you have an extra 37% attack damage with the greatsword. and 20 trait points extra to spend on whatever you like.

playing in WvW today on warrior

traited for 20/30/0/0/20 (pretty glass cannon)

i use a full set of knights gear with runes of hoelbrak, and berserkers jewelry with a berserkers rifle.

using healing surge and berserkers stance to refill my adrenaline i regularly hit targets for 10k+ using [kill shot], when i use the skill [volley] on thieves i normally get about 6k damage. it can be tricky to consistently hit your target with these skills, but i believe that this is the highest ranged single target damage in the game.

ranger probably beats this damage in a sustained fight, however the first few seconds of a fight or if i get the drop on an opponent, i easily outdamage them in the short term.

well the point of having the push and the pull had to do with the fire wall.

you could grab someone off of your teammate and force them through your combo field, then before they could react force them through your combo field again.

i would argue that a pull is actually more useful then a push since a pull centers your targets instead of dispersing them.

flamethrower, bomb kit, grenade kit, elixir gun.

even if you discount the fact that you have to use a utility slot to get them, that they do poor damage, are buggy, didn’t even properly scale until very recently, caused you to lose your weapon stats until very recently, have less base damage then a pistol, have been nerfed multiple times (at least 3 times) since beta and mean that you can’t use regular weapon swapping.

then yeah, thief has just as many weapon options as an engineer does. the king of versatility. are you asking for the same damage nerf that engineers got?

We have the least amount of weapon skills in game, I’d welcome any new weapon with extreme joy. It should be the opposite since thieves and bandits pretty much pick up anything that kills and use/master it.

thief; sword, dagger, pistol, shortbow. possible weapon combinations, 6 plus shortbow.

engineer; pistol, rifle, shield. possible weapon combinations, 3 including rifle.

i think your quest for more options would be better served in a different sub forum.

the rifle is a weapon that lets you tag an enemy at long range killing them in the safety of the distance that you are from your enemy. currently every character that uses a rifle has their rifle skills orientated around kiting.

if the thief was to get a weapon set like this then they would have to give up one of two things.

1. stealth. stealth acts as the safety net for thieves so they don’t have to kite and control an enemy, but instead can re-position and attack. imagine trying to fight a target that can peck at you from max range while at the same time go invisible the moment you turn around to try and fight them. that’s just not happening and is an un-fun idea for everyone involved.

2. damage. the rifle is again a kiting weapon, with the thieves mobility, ability to stealth and damage output, the only thing that is fair about it is that they have to be up close to do it. taking away that disadvantage would pretty much mean that thief would have to be nerfed in some regard and damage would be the most likely place to nerf it. sorry but you can’t have your cake and eat it too.

i have to sign this petition to have backdraft reinstated into the flamethrower.

an aoe pull would just add too much synergy to an engineers weapon kits, and be too useful in dungeons. big ol bomb into a backdraft pull, you might actually be able to hit someone with that skill now.

i’ve got bad news for the mesmers.

i became a mesmer after every build i use on engineer got nerfed into the ground (total of 4 builds). now i run a GS shatter mesmer.

how about your alternate characters level up a little bit faster for every lv80 character you have until they get to level 80 themselves.

for example, if you have one lv80 character and you start leveling an alt then the alt character will level up say… 5-10% faster.

so if you already have say, 5 lv80 characters then it would take you only half as long to level that character.

all mines now cause knockback, trigger reliably and apply 2 seconds of cripple.

the skill [big ol bomb] is now the single most powerful attack in the game and counts as 2 blast finishers. (tell me which would do more damage, a powder keg that’s bigger then you are, or a knife in the back)

my guild has to tell people that the jump puzzle in EB is broken on reset nights. never underestimate the stupidity nor the intelligence of the masses.

People who care about the Jump puzzle aren’t WvW players… They are most likely PVe’rs that need the badges for the legendary… And seeing how you call’em “stupid” you problably one of those guys from “Harcore PvP guilds” who have no respect for the others…

actually i’m usually fairly respectful

however if you think that no one is going to rage at you for trying to do jump puzzle on reset night then you probably aren’t very introspective. the first day after a reset is usually the most critical and sets the tone for the entire week to come.
we don’t rage at them, nor do we call them stupid (to their face) nor do we tell them to get off, uninstall, or call them names of any kind really. we say the jump puzzle is broken and leave it up to them to either find out for themselves, help the effort, or leave so someone else can.

i have no problem with people doing the jump puzzle, if they want to pop in and do it for their badges then i won’t grief them for that, i won’t even stop an enemy player trying to do a jump puzzle so long as they don’t attack first. but even if you don’t give one single kitten about WvW you don’t do jump puzzle on reset night. that’s just common courtesy.

i run a shatter build in WvW, but i also like to pve a lot too

i take runes of holebrak for the increased might duration/power/condition duration reduction. with poultry and leek soup you can get -56% condition duration. that means that you can now walk out of a rangers entangle, cut the damage from a condition necro in half, completely shrug off almost all condition damage from an engineer. any bleed that last for less then a second doesn’t tick on you. same holds true for burn and poison.

i think the best way to fix stealth in WvW would be if any player could see a person in stealth so long as they are within a 300 unit range to them.

also extend the revealed debuff to 5 seconds and make it go off at the start of an attack, not just when it lands. so that way when a thief goes to back stab you and misses there is an actual penalty, not just an oops better try again.

after all, i don’t think the dev’s meant for you to be fighting in stealth, or for players to spend all of their time when fighting thieves swinging wildly at the air

thieves do not suck in PvE any more then engineers suck in PvE

i regularly run dungeons with my guild and i’ve never had any problems with any thieves that go with us.

i think that a lot of the problems with thieves in PvE is they try to play their class like they would in PvP. thieves are godlike in WvW, but in pve only OK, this frustrates a lot of people when they don’t know that you have to change your play style (or refuse to change their play style) when running dungeons or other higher level PvE content.

so as most people know by now warriors are fairly good in dungeons.

that out of the way i just want to go over a few things that i’m tired of seeing. i run dungeons fairly regularly, i don’t pug very often but when i do i always try to bring my very best game into whatever dungeon i run and communicate the entire time i do it.

i’m fairly sick and tired however of other warriors in dungeons, if you are running five sigil’s then i’m going to suggest kicking you, if you die in the first 1-2 minutes of every fight then i’m going to suggest kicking you. if you never rez anyone i’m going to suggest kicking you.

please stop bringing your kitten glass cannon warriors into dungeons. they are about as useful as a crystal champagne glass at a frat party. sure it may look nice. but we are tired of picking up the pieces when you break.

a cursory glance at your chart shows me that you believe engineer to be roughly equal with guardian in terms of tankyness, supportive power and damage output.

honestly a chart based entirely on opinion, with such an inaccurate method of measurements (ie a self admitted margin of error of at least 20%-40%) only serves to show us a very very rough estimate of what what you believe the classes have in terms of balance to one another.

that and that you like to make pie charts. but hey, props on presenting something seemingly meaningless in pie chart form.

a hybrid build works pretty well in WvW so long as you don’t go for some funky set up and try to split the difference 50/50

the longsword actually has pretty decent ratio’s and is totally viable weapon for a none condition based build. against squishier targets i’ve crit for 4-5k with the longswords final attack on the auto attack.

personally i’ve never had good luck with sword and board/rifle. now sword and board/longbow has some serious potential. one good combo i’ve found that simply destroys other warriors is to start with a pinning shot followed by a point blank bolas chained into a flurry with your choice of attacks in between.

after all, too many people underestimate the severity of immobilize, and don’t realize that you can’t just stun break out of it.

i’ve found the great sword to be an amazing weapon, almost all of its attacks are AOE but it does an amazing job of bursting single targets down.

i run a shatter build, and while its true that the auto attack does less damage the closer the opponent is to you i hardly feel like that really matters much in the long run. it does so much damage at range, and the closer they are the easier it is to land a shatter combo that if it did it’s full damage at point blank it might be a little over powered.

at mid range it’s incredible easy to make all of your attacks hit at roughly the same time. 3 shatters, a mirror blade, a phantasmal berserk and a mind stab.

Vengeance should not result in death.

from what i gather a lot of people posting in this thread are of the opinion that they need a skill that gives them a guaranteed interrupt when someone tries to stomp them.

that’s a great sentiment and all, maybe you should get together with the engineers and discuss down state skills.

Of course, you pretty much got rid of the rapid attack healing option, but that is ok because we still have backstab. Now we can all be the same!

True until the fix stealth and/or culling. Once people can’t rely on being basically permastealth, or stealth is given a counter, then metas can finally be built around using all of the tools they have instead of just stealth spam. Thieves have so much potential to be a good high-skill class… they just don’t currently need it.

this guy gets it,

thieves have a lot of potential to be something great, something unique.

maybe once stealth abuse is gone and all the children have left the class then we can really start to see it shine.

as for general tips?
on the focus if you cast warden and set a veil underneath him then he will start shooting out condition removal.

the slot skill [mimic] will copy the first ranged attack that hits you, but reflect every other ranged attack after that for 4 seconds.

blink is probably one of our best defensive skills we have, seriously, its amazing

null field will strip boons off of enemies, a lot of people forget this

if you are traited for the off hand pistol then each of the duelist ranged attacks will count as a combo finisher. you can use an ethereal field to rack up massive stacks of confusion this way.

WvW shatter build - con removal problem

Also check out the one other Condition removal sigil for sPvP if you go in there.

Draw backs are that its 60% on crit that you cause every 10 seconds so they are not great for removing more than 1 maybe 2 conditons per fight you get into.

Clone crits from their attacks do not trigger the sigils either. Shatters that crit do activate it tho.

I know its painful to not bring Blink for some builds but if you have it traited, bring Arcane theivery. Steal some boons off that D/D ele or Guard or Necro or Theif and give their conditions back in the middle of a fight.

i run a shatter build myself and frequently find myself running dungeons.

6 runes of hoelbrak with condition duration reduction food usually gives me all the condition removal i need.

even if you go for the cheap option and get the -36% condition duration food that is still a total of -56% condition duration. with this alone you can walk out of a rangers entangle.

Bomb Kit Auto Attack, increase range

i personally think the bomb kit should be doing almost twice as much damage as it currently does. what with the narrow range of attack it has. (set something at your feet, hope your target walks up to it, or at the very least doesn’t walk away from it)

big ‘ol bomb should also probably do the most damage of any attack in the game. it’s quite possibly the biggest and most telegraphed attack in the game. period.

i know a mesmer that uses the signet of inspiration to great effect. in a fight he will proc the final on rune of lyssa and then inspiration it to everyone.

mass invis + every boon = a major swing in a group fight.

is there some kind of all thieves group that recently transferred to emery bay or something?

i keep on running into massive numbers of thieves. at one point we where holding a supply camp against something like 12 thieves. when pushing to the overlook it seemed to me like you guys only had thieves to defend. trebing overlook. something like a 5:1 ratio of thieves to necros came to push us off.
