I love my warrior, I try to play every class but its my warrior that I love to play. This adrenaline change wont effect me at all, they could nerf hundred blades by 80% and I would still play warrior.

untill they fundamentally change who the warrior is I will continue to play it because to me It is the most fun class to play.

Titles should grant you nothing but a little bit of text below your name. If you where to make titles provide any kind of cosmetic effect other then that, even if the title was something like “wets the bed” or “I’m that smelly kid” then a million and one people would run around with it, two legendarys and radiant armor because for some reason people like roleplaying neon lights.

One common medi guardian combo is to chain Judges intervention → smite conditions → F1 Skill → Greatsword 5 double tap → Whirling Wrath

half of those skills are instant cast and if done right will look like only Whirling Wrath. It gets really powerful if you can get some delayed attacks in on it too. cast focus 5 wait a few seconds then cast focus 4, just before it hits JI to the target so you get the bounce to hit as well.

people complain about warrior hitting hard, but at least they can only hit you with one skil at a time.^^

as for missing stats, thats as simple as mirroring the stats from the main hand. Sigil might be a problem but every class has dealt with having only one sigil on twohanded weapons. untill a better solution could be found it seems like a small price.

I think its very cool how the number 3 skill on you weapon changes based on what weapon you have In your off hand.

As everyone knows thieves also have a unique skill for when they dont have an offhand weapon equipped. The problem is that they dont have a 4 and 5 skill if they choose to do this.

this makes it feel to me that the class isnt finished. Like they are suppost to have options for leaving their second hand free but for whatever reason it never made it into the game and the dev’s just kind of forgot about it.

Its actually a little depressing that what looks to me to be a fairly large oversite managed to go 2 years without being corrected. I understand that it takes time to iron out all the bugs that a game this size will inherently have. But this isnt a bug fix, this is missing content.

Give shield 4 a 1/2 second daze on enemies and an 8 second aegis on allies instead of protection and I would be happy. Right now the protection is too short to be truely useful, an interrupt would be better and thematically the block works better for the shield.

also aegis on our shield would synergize better with our traits. Make people actually wantto take shattered aegis.

I think that conditions are a little to prevelant in PvP right now. It is accepted that to have a viable build for PvP you need to bring tons of cleanses with you. While I think having that as an option is fine I would like for other builds to have some more viability. Conditions are fun to play with but they are also suppressing a lot of possible builds.

I suggest making protection also apply to conditions. It would help a lot of classes and ease the potency of conditions without nerfing them directly.

the main reason warrior is allowed to have such a high hp pool is because in the absence of blinks, blinds and stealth the warrior mostly finds himself eating a lot of hostile skills.

the main reason warrior is allowed to have such powerful skills is because he can’t cast multiple skills at the same time like most other classes can. additionally the very powerful skills like backbreaker, skull crack, hundred blades, eviscerate, earth shaker and final thrust have large wind ups and tells.

people say healing signet is overpowered, but i say it’s our only balanced healing skill. for a long time warriors were crying that the class had no sustain, and it didn’t. warriors were free kills to any class that could sustain in a fight for longer than 30 seconds. the only problem with healing signet is that the other heals warrior has didn’t get the same treatment.

my final note is that the warrior isn’t overpowered, certain other classes are just underpowered or underutilized.

i do like the look of “Let’s get em” as a shout.

i think how that would transfer over to gw2 is – give swiftness and fury to up to 5 nearby allies, gain 2 strikes of adrenaline for every affected ally-

kind of the opposite of the guardians shout “retreat” which should really be renamed since no one ever uses it to retreat.

i just wanted to throw this in there. in HotW there are these ice elementals that have a very nasty ground projectile that creeps along the floor before exploding throwing your teammates.

Wall of Reflection will absolutely reflect that. you may be surprised at all the things it can reflect.

i would be totally fine with that change. would give guardians a choice between elites and a definitive role and purpose in spvp.

you could use it to either help hold points or force a stubborn opponents off of points. (* cough * engineer * cough *)

the only thing i would change is that instead of blocking people from entering it would throw enemies in the bubble out. so teleporting inside wouldn’t do anything.

i’m glad that they decided to look at the rifle. the auto attack is terrible and needed to be changed for a long time.

i don’t think this change is going to change much to see it used more often though. the problem with the rifle has never been it’s auto attack. the weapon seems to actively fight against synergy with the warrior. no weapon sets really set up the rifle to work better. to get good trait synergy you have to spread your trait points too thin. the trait for the rifle should have been in tactics instead of arms. we don’t really have any active utilities that work well with the rifle.

it’s nice that the auto attack will help build adrenaline faster, that’s always been a huge problem with the rifle. but i don’t think it will be enough to let it see play. (oh well, every profession seems to have a kitten weapon it seems)

these changes are blatantly aimed at pvp.

now if you want to be a greatsword warrior running 6/6/0/0/2 in WvW or Spvp then please please please only join my opposite team.

as for pve. i guarantee that you won’t even notice a difference.

whiffing a burst skill will be more painful after the patch, that is true. but it will only really be felt by the rifle and mace.

so i’m posting this here because the forums don’t seem to have a wardrobe discussion forum.

if you will remember a long time ago there were hardly any back pieces. if you could find them then they were usually greens. the first exotic back pieces in the game were not even introduced until a few months after launch.

one of the very first exotic back pieces was the ghost eaters hide. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Ghost_Eater's_Hide. this is a rare drop from the ghost eater in the ascalonian catacombs. it is account bound on acquire and very difficult to farm because it only drops from the boss at the end of the dungeon.

so after explaining all that here is my small complaint. this back piece has no skin. it’s maybe one of the rarest back pieces in the game, and by all rights should be a point to brag about for having gotten it.

i’m not asking for something incredible or massive or something that people see and go “holy crap what is that?!” just something small so i can enjoy it on my character and feel proud that i managed to get the ghost eaters hide.

so it seems arena net is having a lot of trouble coming up with good ideas for traps in WvW. i made this thread to maybe help give them some ideas so we don’t end up with horrible broken traps that destroy balance further in our beloved WvW.

trip wire trap- very similar to the thiefs skill except it has no target limit. after triggering any enemy who crosses it for the next 5-10 seconds gets knocked down. (place in front of a door and when they break it half the zerg trips and is easier for siege to aoe)

plague trap- causes the person or persons who trigger it to get an “infected” debuff that does minor damage for a short duration. anyone who stands next to an infected person contracts the debuff.

signal trap- small trap that gives enemies in an aoe a “spotted” debuff. spotted enemies show up on the map for everyone to see.

just off the top of my head. please give your ideas in the comments below.

warrior is actually a lot of fun.

using the sword leap to get around jump puzzles, effortlessly might stacking allies in dungeons, nothing is more satisfying than resing tons of people with the banner, ton’s of fun viable builds.

hell i have three different builds i use in spvp that aren’t hambow. (good builds too) most other classes have like 2 good builds in spvp. warrior has like 5.

hammer/ axe shield works pretty good for a taking out thieves.

the trick to killing guardians with conditions is to bait out their heals.

take it slow and pick at the guardian until they use their heal. usually they will blow all of their condition removal before using their heal. once they do hit them with either flurry or pin down and blow them up with conditions.

i usually use sigil of geomancy to help with this. pindown + weapon swap + auto attack = 10 stacks of bleed plus immobilize.

if you use flurry on top of that you can get 25 stacks of bleed instantly.

arena net has said that they plan on trying to shave classes and builds that they feel are performing too well.

all three of these changes at once doesn’t really feel like it’s in line with arena nets stated goal.

also if the plan is to emphasize the crowd control aspect of the hammer then does that mean the crowd control aspects of the hammer is getting a buff of some kind?

if you want to make warriors choose between either great crowd control or great damage, then how do i choose to do great damage over crowd control with the hammer with these changes?

do some dungeons, you don’t have to be lv80 to do them

just the other day i did ascalonian catacombs with 3 necro’s. two the them under level 80 and one of them had never done the dungeon before. the party didn’t wipe once and we got through it just fine.

dungeon’s are probably one of the best ways to get your lv80 exotic weapons and armor.

the greatsword is a very powerful weapon when properly traited, but the weapon skills themselves lack a lot of utility and synergy between themselves.

i’m fine with a weapon that only does damage, but we already have the axe for that, and the axe arguably has better combat utility then the greatsword does.
1. fast potent auto attack chain
2. skill for quickly gaining a lot of adrenaline, plus vulnerability, plus whirl finisher
3. ranged cripple, projectile finisher.

the greatsword on the other hand is primarily used in WvW for either A. running from objective to objective or B. running away from fights.

i propose a change to improve the greatswords in-combat mobility, while at the same time reducing its out of combat mobility and making it as a weapon more desirable. so instead of being something you use if you want to troll other people and run away from engagements it becomes something you use for its strategic use in combat and because you want to defeat your opponents.

the big problem is the number 5 skill [rush]
remove it entirely. it’s a problem and there is no reason to fix it. its just not a good skill.
instead the new skill would look like this.
5. [shove] 1/2 second cast time, push your opponent back 200 units.

so now the number 5 skill becomes an interrupt skill, but more importantly it puts them withing optimal range for the number 3 skill [whirlwind attack]. so with this proposed change you can now interrupt an opponents telegraphed attack while setting up the greatswords trademark attack.

the second problem with the greatsword is the f1 burst skill. its boring, it has no combat utility, it doesn’t synergize with anything else the greatsword does. all it does is do a small amount of damage and grants you fury. basically it is an example of a bad burst skill, there is no good reason to use it at less then full adrenaline, and other then for the fury no good reason to use it at all. its slow, single target and it interrupts the flow of your attacks and defense.

my proposal is thus.
f1 [arching slice] 3/4 of a second cast time. 450 range leap finisher. gain fury when you strike your foe.

this will allow you to better stay on your target when they try to kite you, while at the same time improving the damage you do as a result. it adds the leap finisher to the utility of the greatsword and makes [arching slice] useful at any stage of adrenaline.

all in all i would summarize the pro’s and cons of my suggestion for the greatsword thus.
pros.
1. better in-combat mobility
2. added a leap finisher to the weapon kit
3. added an interrupt
4. better combat initiator
5. because burst skill is a movement skill, better use from the trait [x mobile strikes]

cons. 1. its a change, and people will always complain about any change
2. number 5 skill will no longer deal good damage
3. much more difficult to flee from any fight
4. weapon will feel slower out of combat

i think it could be fixed by taking the leap part out of the second attack, but it looks like arena net isn’t inclined to fix this issue anytime soon.

heck, a person with a tag has even come on once before saying they had no intention of fixing it and it is working like intended.

personally i don’t hold much stock in that since it truly is horrible and people have been crying out for a fix since forever.

i’ve used reaper of grenth before, but it wasn’t very good.

it felt like something a necro should have access too, on adapt tier, when in death shroud.

prayer to dwayne isn’t too terrible of a heal, heals for just a little more then healing surge when you don’t have any adrenaline.

it didn’t actually convert two conditions.

it removed a condition and converted a second one. this put it right in line with a master level trait down an unpopular line.

sadly ever since they fixed it it hasn’t really been worth taking anymore.

i think it would be interesting if damaging conditions that stack in duration (poison, burning) didn’t stack in intensity, but instead started doing more damage the longer they are on.

so a stack of burning might do 10% more damage every tick. if you have burning on you for 10+ seconds it could start to do 1,000+ damage.
along that same line a condition like poison could start giving you additional none damaging conditions if you have it on you long enough. an example would be after 5 seconds of poison you get weakness then vulnerability.

the problem with your idea is that guardians isn’t the only class that can set up some long duration burns, and your idea would front load burning to an insane amount. heck if you wanted to on engineer you could set up 30+ seconds of burning instantly without a problem.

the greatsword on the warrior is used in pve with traits that allow it to generate short stacks of might on critical hits. so by using rapid attacks on large groups of mobs you can sustain quite a few stacks of might.

this makes the greatsword an incredible weapon for organized dungeon groups.

the problem is a lot of people can’t seem to differentiate between optimal for pve and optimal for pvp.

why complain about it though, just a free kill for you. and if you want to have a cowardly run away troll build, well its there for you if you want to go down that route.

i’m a moderately experienced dungeon runner, and i absolutely will not join any party asking for experienced players. that kind of exclusivity really gets under my skin and whats more i know i’m not the only person who feels this way.

just advertise for fun talkative players and you can pick up some like minded individuals.

although dungeons runs with the guild are always the best ones.

if you decide not to go with the pve meta for warrior and instead try for some more WvW focused builds then the warrior has a lot more build options.

the warrior has a lot more weapon options as well.

from what i’ve seen the guardian only really has the one trait spread and any others are simply variations of it.

so in that regard i would say the warrior is more interesting. although the guardian does have a lot of nifty tricks he can perform in pve.

so i guess if you want to look for ways you can use a certain build to break the game then warrior, but if you want to look for a way that certain utilities and weapon combo’s can break the game then guardian.

it is a shame though honestly. moving unsuspecting foe to master tier is a heavy blow to the damage of the 0/10/30/0/30 build.

nerfing the damage without compensation to the burst on it is a second heavy blow to the build and the hammer in general. doing the same to the number 4 skill is still a third blow to it but not as heavy as to the burst skill. nerfing without compensation the grandmaster trait burst mastery is a nasty blow to almost every weapon the warrior uses and to all builds.

so in general the 0/10/30/0/30 build is getting 4 individual and distinct nerfs, and it still isn’t enough to get people on the forums to stop whining about it.

1. protection (incredibly powerful in every situation)
2. fury (massive damage boost to almost all builds)
3. stability (almost as powerful as protection)
4. swiftness (positioning is key)
5. vigor (helps with both positioning and damage reduction)
6. regen (in certain builds this is essential)
7. aegis (i don’t play guardian)
8. retaliation (minor damage, good for annoying rangers, mesmers and thieves )
9. might (i build my builds so i don’t need any of this)

New diamond skin trait

i don’t even play elementalist i can tell you this trait is completely worthless.

ele’s have a base hp of 10,000. so if you can do 1,000 or more damage to them it becomes useless. if you go 30 points into water magic it becomes 13,805 hp. so 1,400 or more damage and its useless.

my sword auto attack on my warrior, fully speced into condition damage does around 400-500 damage each attack. so hypothetically saying you went full tank and are wearing soldiers gear, with 30 points into water magic you will have 20,000 hp.

so 4 to 5 auto on your pure tank ele destroys this trait from a build not geared for direct damage.

i think the threshold on this trait should be 75% to be worth it

December 10th Ranger changes

rangers desperately need some utilities to clear conditions and break stuns

right now the only condition cleanses the ranger has are all passive, and for stun breaks the ranger only really has two options.

-lightning reflexes, which is a great skill but can easily put you in a place you don’t want to be
-quickening zephyr, another great skill, but best not used for its stun break properties since you are effectively locked out of healing yourself for the next 6 seconds. plus it has a 60 second cooldown making it too valuable to waste.

the only time you should be looking in another man’s bowl is to make sure that they have enough.

it sounds to me like you don’t like the idea of other people having more then you. which is incredibly selfish.

if you truly want to have a unique weapon skin, then try some of the less flashy weapon skins. get infinite light or mjolnir or something.
