Would I swap? Every day and night.
Druid is nothing ranger needed, and nothing in ranger lore.
It makes no sense, and it’s poor designed.
I hope developer leaders of classes swap a bit, because i feel that the same people cannot stay on one role to long if they make poor mechanics. Ranger is very static mechanics wise, same as druid, very clunky, slow, nothing to impressive.Who ever was working on HoT Ranger pets, props to this guy.
People are only happy because they can heal, thats it, other then that, it’s very poorly made, if ranger wouldn’t get new pets, i would swap to Revenant, because Druid is simply something that ranger should never get.
I’ve expected one of next points:
- empowered pets specialization with staff
- high CC, condition damage oriented staff
- High mobility ( dodgy movement basically what DD got).Sorry to say, but team that was working on Druid, i’m sorry, I like the idea of having healers for people that did desire this kind of support. If you want to be an OP class, you need to be in favor of Roy.
Roy is in charge of Revenant, so currently they get buffed to heaven, got the best heal, best utilities, high damage, universal roles outperforming most classes.
Roy hates ranger, so he will most happily destroy it.
(The fact that they do not allow ranger to has self boons through We Heal as One, while Revenant granted all boons to the whole party easily pretty much sums it all)Also Revenant’s one-hand sword becomes stupidly powerful, while ranger’s one-hand sword stay clunky for 3 yrs sums up everything too.
Roy will most happily nerf all the Druid’s good things and compensate us with nothing.
I know Iren is in charge of ranger, but apparently Roy has the right to interfere the balance of ranger.
As much as i LIKE ROY A LOT, i don’t forgive him for simply destroying heal as one, in 1 day. I’d rather have nothing then this kind of useless thing, before i had reason to pop my heal and invest risky play to power spike, now i Don’t and i simply don’t use it.
One thing is funny, i like all devs, i respect them a lot, but there is one thing in gaming industry, you should listen to community, make things awesome for every one, and not what you enjoy the most in general. As a game developer myself, I can say that there is nothing better then seeing people swapping between classes and see how much can one player do with his main class even thought they are equally balanced.
And i hate nothing more then developers that don’t care about any of things connected with balancing, making cheap solutions and leaving it this way for example, making a class +70% win rate, and simply when people get wrecked they swap to OP class with very mobile abilities and simply tear apart people, not because they are that good, but simply playing a class that is out of control.

Phantom Ranger, with dark magic empowered longbow.
His power would be single target damage drain damage and self healing.
Which would fit the lore of ranger and Druid.
We are in need to redefine formula for calculating condition damage per invested condition power!!
Why?
Because currently if you don’t invest in conditions, or you invest extremely small amount power to condition, you still do insane damage! And compared to Berzerker meta, condition hybrid builds are not punished, while Power builds are, if you intend to invest, for example in armor or vitality!
Semi condition(hybrid) builds do WAY to much damage.
I’ll take burning for example:
Full berserker = 2 stacks of burning 257 damage per tick (Condition attribute 0)
Full celestial = 2 stacks of burning 457 damage per tick (Condition attribute 560)
Full condition = 2 stacks of burning 666 damage per tick (Condition attribute 1200)
What can we see from that? People don’t need to invest in any kind of condition damage to hit 257 burning damage per tick! While some one fully invested in condition made 666 damage, which is insanely low if you compare it with damage done with full zerker!
I’ve made a formula that would reward players for investing into specific attribute! Why you wonder? Because if you are specialized into something you must be good at that thing and weak at others!
Formula:
a = Max Burn At MinCondiPower …. for easier math lets assume 2 stacks of burn give 25 dmg
b = Max Burn At MaxCondiPower…. realistic number 666 burn for 2 stacks of burn
CP = Your Condition damage …. choose number
MAXCP = Max condition power …. realistic current number is 1200 in PvP
Burn damage = a * ( b/a) ^(CP/MAXCP)
Lets do one example:
Burn damage =25 * (666/25)^(400/1200) = 74,665 condition damage per tick for 2 stacks
Lets calculate damage for 2 burn stacks at different investments into condition power:
Your CP —-——-> Output damage
0 —-——-> 25,0
100 —-——-> 32,8
200 —-——-> 43,2
300 —-——-> 56,7
400 —-——-> 74,6
500 —-——-> 98,1
600 —-——-> 129,0
700 —-——-> 169,6
800 —-——-> 222,9
900 —-——-> 293,1
1000 —-——-> 385,3
1100 —-——-> 506,6
1200 —-——-> 666,0
If you are not investing into condition damage, you shouldn’t do any either!
EDIT: This formula can solve other problems with torment, confusion and bleed/poison as well.

There’ll be more supportive damage for Celestial Avatar by launch… possibly from trait modifications or from skill changes.
An issue which should not be decoupled here is that Celestial Avatar felt gated behind staff use (and troll unguent), which left a ranger with one damage-focused weapon option and one support weapon. I’m making some changes to astral force rate gain to try to address this. Ideally it should be possible to build up your astral force without -needing- to run staff, but running staff should speed up the process by nature of the heals it provides. This would yield the option of running two non-staff weapons while still having Celestial Avatar available.
Celestial Avatar healing is the best available by a decent margin right now. One issue that came up is that the healing coefficients are so insignificant that running with healing stats yields very little reward.
The best healing in the game being available without using any healing power; this is not good for the game.
The berserker meta not be the only consideration requires that other stat combinations be rewarding.
Being able to run two more damage-focused weapons (if that’s your thing) and still have Celestial Avatar available should address some of your offensive concerns if you want to play a bit more offensively as a hybrid. If you want to focus on being the top offense then you probably shouldn’t be selecting the Druid specialization.
That’s all I’m going to say on the subject for now (though I will continue to read constructive feedback here and elsewhere) as there is plenty to be done in order to address these and other issues. /me ducks back to work on Scrapper and Druid.

I was about to cry when i’ve seen that druid was limited to staff astral energy gain ONLY, so as soon as i’ve seen this i simply had to stress this out on forums that this is mechanics breaking! Thx for quick redesigning!
ALSO:
I have one more concern and this is not only druid based, but in general Specialization oriented, i think weapons mechanics and traits should be locked on specialization.
Utilities, heals and elites should not be, i think this will limit us in future, and will be very limited for users and also very grounded for coming up with unique play style.
Please reconsider those to be simply expansion skills and not specialization ones.

The only major issue that I wanted to bring up was:
- Specializations should open new traits + new mechanics to you on Special abolities ( F1-F5)
- Specialization should not prevent you from using skills.
Yes you are specialized, but on long term this will make game very dull and boring, i want to combine more skills, I’ve already seen problems today, that i would want to run 1 or 2 glyphs, but i wouldn’t want to run druid trait line because it’s not what my play style looks for, and i think skills should be separated from restriction.
I think they should also remove block and heal skills from game cause players abuse them too much…You want Camouflage instead of stealth?So how you expect thief to hit a backstab if people can see him all the time?Do you people understand that thief has absolutely NO defense except stealth…Thief does not have big HP,does not have much thoughness,does not have healing that worth something,does not have blocks,no bubbles ,it has no def at all.Many thiefs already quit doing WvW cause of all those massive nerfs thief got,even the best thief in game – Yishis quit playing it which he stated on hes videos,cause was massive nerfed and ruined.Stop ruining this class anymore…cause of your whining thief has become class that can only be played with 1 same glass build that people are forced to use.Kill with 1 hit or die with 1 hit.Lost all survability cause of this community whining and now keep going with it…And before some of you say it,no i don’t care about my writing or English at all.What i cared is Gw2,game i quit since that massive trait changes that nerfed Thiefs builds to oblivion wile making Elemenatlists and Mesmers overpowered to the point that you cant fight them anymore.Don’t bother to reply,i wont bother to look for your reply here at first place.
It’s not problem in the thief, it’s the mesmers that drastically abuse it.
Like every thing in the game, Stealth should get standardized and capped on max 3 sec per skill use, same skills should get over-written.
Where stealth abuse is going it’s just unreal!
ALL except tiger and Fire Wyvern seem to be on right spot.
Fire Wyvern F2 perforn is out of center when performing fire field, dragon should fly there and perform it on the center of the target once it’s casted.
Tiger, seems very very very weak, and not able to use it under water?! He uses nothing special, i guess anet was just short on animations.
Maybe bristleback is little bit strange, i would change F2 skill Sharpen Spikes for Spike barrage ( i would just swap them around nothing else).
I love what you guys did with Electric Wyvern, but it’s little bugged, i already reported that, the knockdown doesnt work always even if target is standing still and not dodging it misses..
Smokescale, love it! I requested smoke field for pets for soooo kitten long! THX ANET THX! I feel damage is on point, first pet that actually does damage, and people should adapt and actually dodge pets attacks, until now,nobody every cared about pet animations, i think this is good time for people to take this as lesson! I was roaming so much for so long, and there is very little people to actually do something abut F2 skills, in past 3 years of WvW experience and PvP 1v1s king of the hills, i can count people on fingers that actually care for animations on pet it’s wake up call!

Ranger HoT Drake : Electrict Wyvern, when he performs F2 knockdown, he misses so many times even if enemy target stands still! 50% miss chance no matter what!
There’s nothing you can do about it. Even at max, the camera rotation speed is really slow compared to other MMO’s. And I don’t think that’s ever going to change. It’s annoying at first, but you’ll get used to it (I hope).
I didn’t get used to it for 3 years now:P I don’t think i ever will ,because when i swap from one game to GW2 for few 4-5 hours, it feels so weird for so long.
oh were is this 1v1 pvp you speak of all i know is WvW big blobs vs big blobs or small roaming partys.
Or spvp 5vs5 so this 1v1 you speak of aint possible yet but will be in expansion.
And even then it dont give you anything for wining 1v1.

Linken, you don’t understand how huge of a deal is this, if you don’t play on high level of 1v1 or pvp, you probably don’t understand. My DPI is way to high, and rotation of camera is WAY TO kitten SLOW. llike 3x difference, which is frustrating.

Actually my purpose was not to drop it in HoT, it was intetional to drop it in general so every one can see it not just those who follow HoT.
By far the MOST unbalanced clunky stance.
- Requires full energy to get into Avatar…
- Removes all energy IF DOWNED, GET IN STANCE AND LEAVE IT
- Can fill energy ONLY AND D**MN ONLY STAFF… [what????]
- Works only fine, if there is a WvW blob around you, or you are in huge event, as soon as you are solo or 1v1 druid becomes pointless.
- Skills in celestial form on staff 1 ARE WAY TO SLOW ON IMPACT, rather give us cooldown and instant impact.
- No stability which if you work the best in celestial form, give us stability in celeastial mode, like a lot of other classes have when they change mode, or at least easy access to stability not like ranger, who has to always carry stability elite.(“Strength of the pack!”).
- No stun break on any of glyphs, sadness, you can’t use them if you are not specialized into druid, you have to give away a very strong trait line just to get healing and celestial ability, and on the end you are nothing but a FULL SUPPORT
- NO DAMAGE ON CELESTIAL FORM, WHICH WILL LEAD TO 0 CONTRIBUTION TO EVENTS AND ANY KIND OF RAIDS WORLD VS WORLD LOOT OR ANYTHING, WHICH IF YOU WANT TO BECOME A SUPPORT, YOU HAVE TO GIVE AWAY EVERY KIND OF LOOT TO BE USEFUL, SHAME
- What’s the purpose of stealth on end of leaving celestial form, not like i hate but, what for? It’s not like druid will be viable for 1v1 or small scale fights, because the gameplay is WAY TO SLOW, LOL

I tried to select pet and it doesnt work, for any of new ones, nobody can’t select or try it out. I STRONGLY HOPE THIS IS A BUG OR LACK OF PATCH UPDATE.
If we don’t get pet testing then it’s proven that they never care and never will care for Ranger.
0 chance to test or give feedback on ranger pets…
Bravo.. What can I say, story from GW2 Core beta repeats, ranger will stay:
- untested
- unbalanced
- no feedback
- no communication as usual..
EDIT: There is no way to test it in PvP, and if i can’t test it in PvP, it’s no point testing it, it’s not like it maters how much you hit or CC the NPCS in pve.

Like just standing near Revenant gives 10 might, every 2 sec.
And rangers HAS TO blow:
- Strength of the pack
- heal
- trait to beast mastery
- use rapid fire or some quick attacks (as quick as possible to get as many crits)
- self and pet buff no ally buffing
All this for 20 might for 10 seconds, with 48sec cooldown.
We really need no might limit so we can be on pair with other classes self might stacking!
SHAME on who ever is in charge to make rangers so restricted!

We are experiencing issues with the enhanced Squad UI that is having an impact on other areas of the game. Due to this issue, we are temporarily disabling the UI. This will subsequently impact the ability for players to enter raids.
We will be working to address this issue as quickly as possible and will reinstate the UI and raid functionality as soon as we can do so.
We could still use ranger feedback, a lot of us are still waiting.

I plan running druid, and i won’t share nothing, why? Because anet is simply cruel to rangers, and i’ll share my build that i’ve already planed for a while now, cca 14 days after hot release. I hate anet for simply not taking enough time to check ranger, deal with it, and simply put some effort into balancing this amazing class. They simply go from one extreme (overbuffing it for a day) to another (making it so that this description looks nice, but does nothing).
In order to achieve meaning of Heal As One, we need to understand few things:
1) ranger and pet are companions, and he/she MUST care for his/her pet, share is care
2) Prevent sharing boons that were applied from other people.
3) Share only self created boons between ranger and pet.
4) Share only 66% of durations or if you have might, share full duration and only 66% of might stacks.
5) Enjoy balanced class, with appropriate amount of boons, and with overflow and health balance was born.
EXAMPLE:
- pet 25 might > HaO > 17 might to ranger
- pet 7sec quickness > Hao > Math.Round(4.62) > 5sec quickness to ranger
- pet 15 speed > HaO > 10 speed to ranger
- pet 15 fury > HaO > 10 fury to ranger
I don’t really understand how the ANet devs are so prone to undertuning or overtuning things. There’s a very obvious middle ground, and somehow that middle ground is always flown over by a few kilometers.
What was before, was Overkill because every body could buff ranger and ranger would only copy.
What do we have now is, ally can over buff ranger, and Heal As One, will have no effect at all.

Guys, sorry i know you can do better, this solution was cheap and clunky, what do we copy if we copy only things that we don’t need and in very weak form?
For the beginning, i’m saying that previous copying was out of hand, and mostly because not self buff copying, but players helping ranger to buff them and then copy.
Mark do you think this is appropriate fix? FOR ONCE in our life time, we were able to self sustain might for 10 seconds! 10 second of 20 might with 48 sec cooldown if you traited and used every thing in the game just to extend that… And the solution was nerf it to 3 stacks of might copy, oh my.. we just went from one extreme to the other and left it in ground-nerf again?

All this numbers will copy only without ally applying anything to us, which means a fair balanced process. This is my solution, and i think it solves your problem of infinity stacking and i strongly recommending it, I don’t want anything in return or what so ever, just make ranger on right spot.
NOTE: your copy doesn’t work! it’s bugged and it doesnt do what they say it does in description here on bug fix or in game skill description of HaO, thus this is not nerf and not a fix it’s breaking the skill and leaving it like this for who knows how long again, and i don’t want this to happen!
- 17sec fury with horn blow > using HaO > 17 sec furry [NO DURATION CHANGE/COPY]
- 17sec speed > HaO > 34 ssec speed [DURATION COPIED]
- 10sec regeneration (from fern hound) > HaO > 27 sec regeneration [DURATION COPIED BUGGED]

Please reconsider your doing, because it’s not doing what it says, it’s not copying anything at most, we don’t need regeneration copy, speed copy, we have enough of this and with new traits coming out, we need even lass of this two.
What we need, is fury and might, consider copying 66% of what pet and player self created between each of them AND ONLY SELF APPLIED ARE COPIED no ally buffs copied what so ever.

Nope, i’m saying mouse rotations are not having equal acceleration as basic mouse movement. and it’s frustrating
Can we have expended maximum rotation speed?
If i rise my mouse speed, my mouse flies all around the screen but when i rotate, it still is a lot slower as it should be, i just think rotation does not have same speed then normal mouse rotation.
So yeah, more rotation speed would be nice^^
In order to accommodate development and hosting of Guild Wars 2 raids, we will be changing the time that guild mission resets take place each week. Starting Monday, October 5, 2015, guild mission resets will take place at 12:30 AM Pacific time each Monday.
Note: In order to make this adjustment there will be no reset on Saturday evening, October 3. Instead, that week’s guild mission period will be extended slightly to allow for this update. Subsequently, guild mission resets will occur each Monday morning, at 12:30 AM Pacific time.
Just a suggestion, let us do guild missions 2x-3x per week, why call it guild missions if we do so little with guild together :S We need to be allowed to do them more frequent!

- F2 a 2nd skill that is currently passive and I hate it to be RNG…

I think heals are fine, i just think that 100% healing skills with no damage on staff or celestial form, there is nothing to profit on because when you swap to celestial mode your heals will be weak as hell if you won’t play full healer setup, and second, where is damage?! Is this a joke? A first weapon that has no damage at all. Sadly i did expect a mage heavy natural damage dealer, not a support ranger class.. I don’t like where this game is going… (back to trinity)…
I’ll just say this:
You either longbow or condi-blow… so make druid fun, and strong! If you want to make ANOTHER JACK OF ALL TRADES, you can forget it ANET! YOU SAID BEST HEALER, so make it THE BEST AND DELIVER!!

I’m a newish player, trying to find my feet with a couple of alt characters now iv hit 80 on my main. I quite like the hunter, good ranged burst, but why…WHY can’t I use pistols or a rifle, I mean seriously is this some kind of joke?
No thx, i love that ranger has no rifle, or guns and i hope if they ever get them, to not be a priority weapon by any mean. For next specialization i hope ranger will get main hand dagger with natural/survival/condition playing style of melee ranger.
All i see, they destroyed spirit ranger to create Scrapper Gyro’s, GG anet you don’t surprise me any more.
By watching Scrapper yesterday, my first thought was…

Sic em:
- 2000 range
- self reveal
- can miss it if person goes in stealth before you trigger it or lose target
- 40 sec CD (32 if traited)
- reveals ONE (1) person for 6 Sec
- 40% pet speed and dmg, (BM pets move 30% faster in default, so no change here)
Sneak Gyro: (two components)
- ELITE SKILL:
- Applies AoE stealth to you and other allies nearby.(we dont know how many probably 5)
- 30sec CD on reuse
*30sec duration of 3sec intervals of 4 sec stealth (which gives you 34 sec of total stealth)
-ELITE GYRO F5:
- Remove stealth from up to 5 enemies in a 900 range, no target required.
Stealthed people are revealed for 6s. - 20 sec CD (untraited)
Now comparing this to sic em. Sneak Elite Gyro effect on F5 is alone already better then sic em for soooo much more! And delivers a lot more to the game play.
Some funny NOTES:
- Rangers lost ground targeting trait because of guardians getting traps and in order to remove rent they decided to break one of most amazing mechanics of ranger that could throw traps if desired, thx to Dragon Hunger, we got this removed.
- Spirits, no longer movable, just to make Scrapper Gyros more awesome, again nerf to ranger breaking the mechanics to make other elite specs look better.
What does other specializations do to make Druid better?

All good and all, but did you guys include drop rate increase in WvW as well?!

I don’t have any of the problems you describe.
I actually do Rapid Fires in organized groups (using NM traitline for more DPS from boons and boons shared onto pet) that hit for 32K.Axe Training was the one that gave more ferocity – the one that was and still is as worthless as ever?
And with all due respect, I still hit for 10K with Path of Scars. I sincerely have no idea how we could have been nerfed with QuickDraw imrpovements.
Sorry 32k what? damage? on Lv1 mob? I was doing 10k dmg to medium armor people, now i can’t deal more then 5k with axe off hand + opening strike.
We used to be the best 1v1 class, pre-traits changes, it was about skill. Post-trait changes are just meh, every thing is so unbalanced and over-buffed to oblivion while ranger got so many nerfs with traits changes, to be honest we had 80% nerfs on ranger and only 20% good things. At the moment ranger has nothing that i didn’t use pre-traits changes, i had even more! What we have now is taunt and quick draw camouflage a huge drastic nerf to ranger a little bit, it’s a fun mechanic but still not worth the nerf that we got.
d/d Eles were best 1v1 class.
Plus we only got buffs, not nerfs. Not sure where do you take your intel from.
Sorry mate, i did poop on ever d/d make it celestial or zerker, in WvW roaming they were not able to deal with rangers, we are talking about dealing with equally knowledgeable persons & both skilled. Ranger was able to outplay d/d always, with LB + S/A I never had problems with them.
NOTE: i don’t talk about pvp, because pvp is not 1v1. It’s jack ****, because if you can’t optimize your build to its finest, then this is not pvp, it’s casually poking in the eye. WvW is the real 1v1 environment to test fights of capability. And also we are talking fair fights 900 starting range, no ganking, open world.
I’ll put it this way, if you meet player that is not dedicated mesmer, u’ll have chance. But if you meet equally skilled mesmer that is dedicated to his/her class, and same goes with ranger, ranger stands no chance, it will take a while to kill each other but, on the end ranger will always die. We are talking open fight fair engage.
How many mesmer mains, or even decently skilled players do you find playing PU condi?
I didn’t say anything about PU, but let me tell you, you can notice difference from a braindead PU or PU that things a little bit.

I’m sorry i’ll say this:
Who ever follows this meta is dumb, WHY?
Well ranger was 25% stronger with LB+S/A, i was running that build before, and i can tell you that people didn’t think ranger is strong before, and now when ranger build as they describe is nerfed they put it on meta list?! Who the hell are those meta elitist people that control useless meta builds ?!
The only LB combination that is good right now is LB+GS with quickdraw. nothing else is damage wise better. Before trait changes, LB+S/A was better, we had axe training, 20% reduction, axe did hit 10k+ with opening strike, now it barely hits 4k with opening strike? (NINJA NERF?), rapid fire did hit 16k, now it barely hits 12k. Just saying, people are following meta blindly and not thinking with their own heads!
People were saying pre patch that ranger was bad class for roaming, while rangers did poop on everything else if you were smart, even thiefs and mesmers, there was nothing to kill you in 1v1.
Because of meta builders, rangers were always in bad spot, while they were always quite decent, compared to other classes, now that ranger actually is nerfed, they believe that builds that were good pre-traits are decent, oh people, i’m still waiting the day, when you’ll start using own heads and speaking from experience, not what you hear and copy on metabattle.

I know i probably won’t see red post on this, but here is the question for you community?
Do you think that we will get ranger-pet-skins at some point?
A lot of pets are awesome, but they are really strange looking, for example Siamoth, love that one, but it’s ugh I could use something more awesome looking and I’d pay good GLORIOUS GEMS OR EVEN BETTER UNLOCK THEM WITH ACHIEVEMENTS!:D
