Fix server problem fast please.
We are on Gandara, we had occasionally queue only on EB which was 20-35 in prime time… Now every border has 30 -55 queue… and to get in takes 40-80 min… if you disconnect .. well good luck.. another 40+ min wasted…
This got me thinking, if you will ever consider to take a solution to shrink the servers… i’m telling you this is not a solution.. so fixing and finding real problem would be awesome.. I’ve finally got in, and what i’ve noticed was that every border is empty.. we barely have people for 2 small groups. If 1 guild tries to make a raid… half people stays in queue.. and we are only 15 guys..
So if you’ll find solution, don’t ever think about shrinking the servers because:
- borders are dead
- roaming died
- having only 30 people on each border for full server is horrible.
- people are so bored that they actually start making jumping puzzles because borders are so empty with this low numbers of people..
- we did start some 2v2, 3v3, or even 1v1 duels because things got bored
- lag still appeared on EB, skills still lagged, players rubber bended
- people left early 23:00… just because things were so boring we all went sPvP..
So outcome of this currently fixed nothing, borders became boring (maps to large for this small number of people) even the most active roaming servers stopped roaming because there were not enough people.. i personally had to invade red border north camp.. to force 3 ppl to get me some pvp.. and we are talking about T1 server… LOL:)

EDIT2: HUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE lag in SM fight atm… 3 sec skill delays and more..
EDIT3: 16 april 2015 CET, huge lag EB 3 sec skill delays for 40 min and still going.

Rangers need more skill to be played correctly then guardian warrior or any class that you probably say and call it “decent”.. Because every class has a lot more skills to rotate on.. if ranger blows big cooldown.. he’s done for minimum 40 sec unlike other spam-able classes..
I think i know what’s problem of people:
“OMG rangers are so OP… they create ranger.. lvl it to 80… they try WvW or sPvP.. they suck… F**** rangers.. they go back to warrior / guardian and keep b***ing about ranger.”
Rangers are not easy, you are easy for not countering it. I could say same for 1111 guardian, but we all know there is more then that, people are just hostile

What ranger needs:
- a decent blast.. like other classes.. they can blast per 5 sec… rangers have only ONE blast, and that’s horn5…
- sharing conditions to ally
- jedi staff melee combat first 3 skills
- pet removal because AI is simply not worth having it and almost no control on pet then.:
- attack
- stop attacking and avoid combat
- use your only skill
if we don’t have at least 2 active skills on ranger.. then it’s pointless to have AI pet..
- we need more pet control if anet wants to keep the ranger ~ pet role
- MY OPINION: we need marksmen specialization, interrupts, preparations and while in specialization, total removal of pet physically and gain his power.
I hope that if we get staff specialization… that we wont get something like copy of other classes with reworked skill effects like this kit:
- elementalist staff fire 1( Fireball ) to auto attacks..
- warrior banner skill 5 ( Plant Standard ) to drop combo field..
- guardian hammer 3 ( Zealot’s Embrace ) to root enemy..
- ranger greatsword 4 ( Counterattack ) to block with staff…
- ranger healingspring ( Healing Spring ) acting like ele big water..
If arena net has something like this in mind.. please don’t…
Rangers were never meant to be healers or what ever else to support through healing..
What i see as viable option is to put back in game preparations.. self & aoe buffs (5 ppl ), sharing bleed and poison. Giving more ability to share ranger conditions since we gonna see a Revenant which will offer immunity on those.. SO my idea is ranger staff will apply a lot of boons and condition busts for allys.

I know they are looking into it, but to me.. this is like:
“Hi guys, we know we have a bug, bare with us, we have no time to fix it right now, so please stop writing about it, we will fix it in next few weeks when we find 15min.”
It’s funny when ever i come to forum, i see one kid crying about how ranger pierced his candy build… Wanna know something? If ranger wants to win versus every class, he/she has to change their build for specific fight.
Why do you expect to run 1 build and own all?
Simple your build has nothing to defend yourself for rapidfire..
Sadly… there are way more OP skills then rapid fire in game and no1 cares about them…
But me personally, i addapt and counter the skill.
If you are warrior and you lost to ranger… ask yourself what can you do to improve, the time spend for this topic, would already give you the answer
My idea is reduce the damage by like 25% but make its cast time even lower like a 1.5 sec cast time at least this way if you dodge it you will dodge almost all of it save for a few hits. I am sure the numbers can be balanced to make it faster with the right amount of damage for the cast time.

Predicting enemy ranger is so easy.
You guys just have to learn one thing, IF you nerf rapid fire or anything about power ranger, i’ll 24/7 condi ranger, and trust me, you guys don’t want to make a deal with devil… Cuz when ranger changes to condi, there is no class to counter it.

- mesmer clones would not shatter
- guardian virtues wouldn’t go off

- Fire Attunement wouldn’t work for ele

A minor change to how outfits work, would make all people satisfied:
- now if you want to wear outfit you just choose it and wear it
How about this change:
- you would chose outfit
- at your left side of each body part you would have another check box to tell which parts of outfit you would like to use, simple as that. This would make people buy more outfits.
I like outfits, they look very good and are very well made, BUT… I cannot do anything else but wearing the full set, or toggle the head-piece down. I personally don’t buy them because i cannot mix and match the parts… To be honest, i’ve spend a lot of money on gem store, and i believe i would buy 80% of outfits if they would be used by piece.

I never know how unchallenge range long range is with experience in wvw. I find 1500 too much no risk for ragner class range. Standard long range is 1200, what i do not understand is do ranger class need that +300 range to be effective as a long range class?
In wvw, all i was doing is spam longbow skill #1 and i feel this is too much not having risk for a range class. I am chock that i kill 8 player in 5 minute just for being in 1500 range: i find that problematic not accept for challenge play and require no risk play. No class should have easy advantage + with 0-little cooldown.
In Pve and Pvp: i see same effect and it should not be that way at all.
Last: there is no excuse, there is no reason for that class to have +300 advatage over standard 1200 range especially can spam with very low cool down.
Suggestion again: make ranger class range be 1300 range for challeng play and risk play.
Ranger class need have risk not have over advantage: i remember too, they have pet that can go long range: it make no sense giving ranger 2x long range- rangerpet+high mobility for ranger= too much no risk, too much no challenge
Conclude: Easy acess and easy advantage need to have risk and concequence.
Consider change to ranger range arena net
I don’t know if you are troll or sarcastic or just a guardian that rungs a zerg build and complains to be snipped. Range is all ranger has if you get close you destroy the power ranger, there is no reason to remove 300 range, and LONGBOW has a meaning with longest shot possible.
YOUR arguments have no value because they have no:
- constructed answer why this range is bad
- how to fix it to benefit other things if you nerf the range
- how will you fix close range
- how will you fix mobility
- utility?
- pet ai?Renting is not solving anything, bring solution and suggest bonuses how to trade 300 range for something useful on utility or mobility.
Range GS is boring and only unskilled players run it with LB. Give me reasonable exchange for 300 range and i give you my range. But then needs warrior nerfs to mobility and thief nerf on shortbow.

You play 1111 guardian, and your either use meditation build. Guards are no skill champs just mesh they keyboard:) To be honest, ranger LB needs no range nerf.. if they do that… then why should staff ele have 1200? or any other class? Since longbow should make its purpose in the game. While we have other unplayable bugs and abuse that Arena Net doesn’t care about…
- Ranger pets are aggressive even on “avoid combat”… and no one cares..
- Guild AC can hit over the T3 walls in veloka WvW
- Dungeon path selling for 10gold per 20min…
Will you nerf SW chest farm next? SW chest farm gave more and better loot per hour.

Racial skills have no value, and no point using them.
Sorry to say this ArenaNet, but they are there so you can just say:
“Every class also has own special skills!”
We all know that they will never get buffed to be viable, because then we will have a lot of madness and race sellection and that’s what ArenaNet or neither of us want.
Solution, with expansion we could master the skills of other races, and make them stronger ( to unlock all racial skilsl of all other races, and actually make them strong).
Just you should make effort to get them.
I’ve played power ranger for a long time. Since before the recent ranger buffs. If we are being honest with ourselves, the current state of pew pew is really really strong (pvp and WvW. I have little to no experience with it in pve. I have a few suggestions that I think are fair adjustments to be made that could bring the class back to an appropriate place.
1. Signet of stone: I feel like 8 seconds of no dmg is a little excessive. 5 seconds is more than fair, and allows some counterplay. a dps class having to sit on its heels for 8 seconds is more than enough time for a zerker ranger to do serious damage.
2. Rapid fire: I think the cast time should be SLIGHTLY increased, as well as adding 2-3 seconds to the recharge. As it stands now this skill is too spammable and most of the time just ends up being an I win button. Yes, I know reflect can be the best counter, but lets be honest, there are a Lot of specs out there that simply dont have reflect. and any decently aware person can cancel the cast, and turn around and use it again in 8 seconds, long before any reflect is off CD. There needs to be more counterplay.
3. Longbow Range bug: Everyone who has equipped a longbow and walked into the mists knows that the 1500 range tooltip is a lie. Actual range of the longbow varies from 1800 to around almost 1900 depending on terrain and other things. This needs to be fixed asap. Yes yes i know that projectiles carry on at an arc. The shortbow arrow arc was fixed to only allow about 900-950 range, I dont see why longbow should enjoy an extra 400 range.
Again I would like to reiterate that I am not coming here as another profession screaming nerf. I am, as a ranger with some integrity stating that I think the spec is too strong atm, and is too easy to play. Before you scream “Reflects!!! Dodge!!!! L2P NUB SOOOO MANY COUNTERS” at me, understand that I can and have countered the pew pew spec many times both as a ranger and as other classes. I just feel like its time to take the easy mode button away from the fairweathers and bandwagoners out there so that some of the other ranger specs can get the attention they need.
1). Your data is invalid, signet has 6 seconds of protection with 80 second cooldown if not trated with -20%, which is still 64 seconds if traited but then you lose 10% damage on longbow. Every class has such protection you name it, so please read other topics before you make irellevant topic again, you clearly did not play enough ranger, to see what happens if ranger doesn’t have that signet, with current meta, and builds that rangers offer, SoS is almost a must in majority of builds.
2.) you again want to take away the damage of ranger that is already not the best for single target. Warriors almost outsustain you with signet healing.. So what you are suggesting is pointless. Only changes i could take is, reduce arrows from 10 to 5 and double the damage. But why change it if it works as intended. If you think power ranger is open in current state, go sPvP and play it there.
3.1) you didnt play GW1 where you had a lot of range different bows. Range was there explained fairly enough.
3.2) Your point is invalid, we actually tested the range and it’s EXACTLY 1800 with trait, so please if you didn’t run tests, don’t talk random stuff without having a prof, we made ranger longbow 1500 and 1800 test, and the bow range is only increased if you have higher ground, BUT THEN AGAIN THIS RANGE IS INCREASED FOR EVERY CLASS FOR SAME AMOUNT. Ele, necro, war, thief… so please. stop making topics with false data.
END OF CONCLUSION:
You sir play to much PvE, playing berzerker build in sPvP is very hard already, (it works only if you are totally ignored). WvW it works only if you stand in backline and fire. Power ranger is strong for roaming, but then again condi is 100x better and beats the hell out of power ranger & other classes. And with your suggestions ranger would be outclassed with staff ele auto attacks.. literally. From bottom of my heart, please stop making such posts, because you would only ruin the game play of ranger that is already lacking diversity of builds and IF every ranger would shift to condition builds, god forbidde you to come here again, and tell me how broken that is. So please, stop the rent posts with nerf cuts, I’m ready for full ranger rework, but what you suggest is nerf to the ground.

Half true. if neccesary he will even do 180o spin – the channel wont break.
This is 1/1000 chance you make it. And if a good thief 1 s/d u lose it, if i charge at ranger and dodge throught them u break it. Only a pure beginner would let that you fully rapid him.. So your point is invalid, because angle of rapid fire is only 90° radius, so you have to be kitten fast to rotate your camera which is impossible in reality behind you and still follow the target if the target is in range of 50-150.
Them jumping puzzles OP, respect for surviving the fear, that reaction time was amazing!
And awesome mesmer fights even with camera zoomed in so close:D

The game is already about as casual friendly as it can be. This should be the line that we draw the “learn to play” barrier at. The “look, we understand you want to play Greatsword/Greatsword and autoattack and faceroll and win against everything, but now you need to learn where the dodge button is” point.
THIS.
It just has a low skill floor on low skill levels aka it is very easy to wreck bad people with it. Also its weakness (like many beserker classes) is getting focussed, especially since much of the survivability is cooldown capped (SoS pop). This means coordination beats it which again makes it relatively good in the uncoordinated solo queue matches at lower skill levels.
SO STOP REQUESTING NERFS!
If anything Arenanet should try to raise the skill floor on lower skill levels. Make it harder to play, move more of the dmg to GS, etc. On highest skill level Power Ranger actually sees almost no play because it is just too weak. The rigth direction here would actually be buffs so again …

Exactly this, i would love so much that we actually get rework of entire ranger and actually get advanced ranger that would bring a lot of skill to gameplay.
BUT HEY, i’m waiting for druid changes, maybe then something would change.. BUT… if they don’t people would say.. now you demand rework.. no.. i request it now.. but i still hope Druid will bring something awesome and changes to old ranger… (while i already think it will be fail) idea of druid in general is to me backstep, because AI is not intelligent or advanced enough to deal with this upgrade, but hey, lets give it a go.. in next few days we might see some BETA tests.
I would love to see ranger entirely reworked. (i’m ranger main with 1,4k hours), and to be honest, i’m enjoying my own build that is full berzerker with power/blast/trap build with longbow and sword/horn. It’s mainly built for team fights.
What i would love to see is:
- shortbow and longbow changes swap some skills between weapons
- changes to traits because currently we have a mess with mixed stuff in trait lines that doesn’t even fit in there.
- removing Signet of Hunt, and making it a trait to free 1 utility spot for something more useful
- +300 range trait should become a skill that would be optional
- traps need kind of rework (it would be awesome if we could trigger them on our own) lets say blast it with horn? or projectile finishers that could trigger them ranger only( this would bring trap viability outside of trapper build)
- power ranger is very good with sword/dagger and i think sword needs changes
- sword changes(remove leap on skill 1, and remove self root on skill 1, reposition is key we need that)
- bug fix a pet, that would actually work on distance path-finding and not location path-finding. Difference? (distance, would constantly calculate distance between target, location pathing “what we have now”, is checking if pet is in range once pet is on location where command was given to attack which is fairly BAD and pointless pet AI)
- axe rework skill4, needs more velocity faster throw + faster comeback ( to easy to dodge ) or at least the returning velocity after reaching max range should have faster return. (pull is what i aim for and if target moves left right it’s impossible to hit unless you predict motion, remove target manually and throw axe in direction, which in this combat is unrealistic).
- ranger should be able to ground position traps in default in order to make them viable out of trapper build
- spirits should be duration wise and immortal (in my opinion spirits are nothing but worst necromance petmaster currently)
- longbow3 hunters shoot should be looked, because it fails in 50% of time even if that was a clean shoot and had totally no reasons to fail to stealth. Skill fails fairly often even if you were not blinded, aegis, reflected or what so ever. Same goes with LB4 point blank shoot.
– pat leaps should be more natural with smaller leap charging time is fairly to quick for poor pet positioning ( ranger has no real control to set up the leap direction or side of leap)
- general ranger problem lack of blast and finishers
- change how axe and longbow projectile finishers work ( i rather have 1x 100% and 2 sec cooldown then 20% chance and no cooldown)
- PET REMOVAL SPECIALIZATION WOULD BE MOST WELCOME ( OPTIONAL PETS TY) GW1 GAVE RANGER PERFECT CHOICE OF SETUP
Rapid fire should not hit through stealth. Its already the best channeled skill it should not complete its duration through enemy stealth. Nothing else needs to be said this should not happen.
This is actually stupid request, why?
- You move behind ranger and you break it, rapid fire stops shooting
- retaliation destroys rapid fire because you get 10x 350 dmg in your face
- 3 auto attacks deal same damage as full rapid fire
- close range rapid fire loses 30% of damage
You just rent and want to remove the only thing why rapid fire is good.
My friend Loonita, I think you have to learn to predict it and actually learn to counter the rapid fire, because it’s fairly easy.. And i bet you are angry thief that ate full rapid fire in stealth, oh right, you can stealth every 3 seconds, because this is not overpowered, we had to learn how to deal with you ridiculous stealth backstab spamming, now you learn how to deal with RF
Stealth is not solution to everything, why should it be. I think you might want to use line of sight and go behind ranger or interrupt it. Going into stealth is beginners mistake of thiefs.

Last: there is no excuse, there is no reason for that class to have +300 advatage over standard 1200 range especially can spam with very low cool down.
Suggestion again: make ranger class range be 1300 range for challeng play and risk play.
Ranger class need have risk not have over advantage: i remember too, they have pet that can go long range: it make no sense giving ranger 2x long range- rangerpet+high mobility for ranger= too much no risk, too much no challenge
Conclude: Easy acess and easy advantage need to have risk and concequence.

I don’t know if you are troll or sarcastic or just a guardian that rungs a zerg build and complains to be snipped. Range is all ranger has if you get close you destroy the power ranger, there is no reason to remove 300 range, and LONGBOW has a meaning with longest shot possible.
YOUR arguments have no value because they have no:
- constructed answer why this range is bad
- how to fix it to benefit other things if you nerf the range
- how will you fix close range
- how will you fix mobility
- utility?
- pet ai?
Renting is not solving anything, bring solution and suggest bonuses how to trade 300 range for something useful on utility or mobility.
Range GS is boring and only unskilled players run it with LB. Give me reasonable exchange for 300 range and i give you my range. But then needs warrior nerfs to mobility and thief nerf on shortbow.
Because getting close to ranger is not a problem.
I will begin: range. I spoke with many ranger in my server and they feel ranger range should be slightly decreased in between 1200-1400 range. I mention of 1300 range which i suggested; they say it is ok as long their damage and mobility are not tampered with. So it is 1300 range than which will help range class be a challenge class and fun class to other class.
Reduce me 200 range, but:
- give me mobility that you guys have
- give me utility that you guys have
- give me might stacks that you guys have
- give me useful pet with good path finding and good attack range calculation
- give me team viability
- give me nice skill rotations
- give me useful trait
Give me what you guys have and i give you 200 range… you complain to hard, and don’t realize how freaking OP other classes are compared to range that rangers have. You just try to run full berserker, no protection and then you try to tell me how hard is to dodge two skills that ranger has.
I challenge you, bring me this and i’ll gladly give my 200.300 range that you rent about it so hard.

There title says it all, with all the complaint thread centered around ranger it could very well be only a matter of time before they just throw the profession under the bus to quiet the mass.
So with that in mind where can the profession give up ground that could shut the complainers up, but without ruining the profession?

You guys try to nerf most nerfed profession… profession that already is poorly viable, and LONGBOW has a name for reazon … some staff ele or mesmer or warrior can shoot or cast a spell almost the same range..
Message to OP if power LB is problem for you, you are probably countered, and build to prevent that.. if you cannot dodge two times then my you should probably play PVE, because ranger LB is not even OP.
1) 3 out of 4 traps are fields you can combo with horn 5 and gs 3
2)Tons of wways to get mobility without soth – horn, nature’s voice, trapper rune, traveler rune, speed rune, pack rune etc….
You don’t get my point, my point of view is to give ranger needed mobility during fight without taking horn just to speed myself and have no other use of it, and having hunt signet just to get that 25%..
Yes you have trapper runes and horn and all but having this cuts your damage and other utility. Your answer is not relative neither constructive to my topic. I want to bring mechanics to ranger not just running either full berz lb + s/d or condi. And actually give ranger some mechanics to have some interesting play.
Trapper runes are failure and broken and work only for PvE(wvw)

Rangers have tons of traits tons of skills but less then 50% useful ones.
One way to make traps viable outside of trapper build would be adding a trait that would allow ranger to trigger traps with blast finisher skills.
Example, ranger trap could trigger by:
- enemy walking or standing in it
- blast it with horn5 or gs3 etc etc etc…
Another thing, we all know that rangers mobility is one of the worst if they don’t use signet of the hunt, there for it makes ranger so useless just because we have to carry signet of hunt to deal with lack of mobility. Removing Hunt, and moving it to traits would be awesome. Rangers would then be able to use utility for something more impotent just like other classes use them.
Doing a quest to get a drop is different to doing PvE that could easily be the same as a quest, selling the drops and buying the skin… how?
I’m not a fan of everything being gem store either, but let’s be honest: aside from a couple of lines of rushed dialogue – it’s the same. Well, apart from it being 100% chance instead of RNG… oh, and you can earn the money through whatever playstyle you prefer.
is buying from a restaurant the same as cooking a meal?
is buying a table the same as designing and building one?
i mean if you dont care about the process, sure its the same, but people who enjoy the game, want more of it to involve the best parts of the game.

Sir.phys.7689 you won a medal, this is directly what i want to tell devs. They have awesome content, and i would spend so much more REAL MONEY if i had this option. Rather then buying keys, and let PvE die?!
What title says, this weapons and armours are all so awesome looking and all, but to me they are worthless on some way. It just doesn’t feel right that you can purchase them with tickets or gold. Where is old fashion questing? Way more rewarding to do PvE if you go out there and collect your favourite weapon skin set. That’s why i don’t do PvE in GW2 ( i used to do PvE a lot in GW1). But now i have no lust to do so.
That’s my opinion, i miss quality PvE content that would include quests or something to acquire this skins which would make me feel rewarding not RNG. ( i know arena net has to earn something from GEM store). So i have suggestion:
Just going into the store and buy it is kind of meh to me. I would rather pay 200-300 gems per quest to unlock it, and you would be able to do decent quest that would be hard enough to acquire, and end of quest would give you one of the skins.

Sure there is some skins that we cannot acquire anywhere else but doing specific thing, but that’s less then 1%, and rest of gear fairly easy to get, while all awesome looking weap/arm are for gems, and nothing but grind or buy RNG keys which is not my favourite thing to spend money on (else i would play euro-jackpot).

I did read each and every comment I and see that you guys feel pretty much the same on few aspects of my view. Just pointing out PvE was my expression that we have game mechanics that should and would be way more exciting to get them, I’m a PvP person in GW2 just because PvE is not what i would desire. ( and i must say i Love the landscape)
GEM store viable options to unlock ways of acquiring skins:
- PvE quests
- PvP tracks
- crafting (collecting unique materials)
- Being a mentor to newbies below 500 AP

If they would make what EDIT2 says, i would actually buy 4-5 tracks/quests or what ever to get the skins. On the way we currently have, i just grind the gold, and buy it from TP. I have them skins, but they are worthless.

While i know back in 2014 it was announced guild wars 2 (sadly) wouldn’t be coming to console, im slightly hopeful they might reconsider due to the number of MMO’s on Pc that have, came or coming, to console.

If game comes to console it limits targeting and mechanics. I don’t want another console feeling game, so this is my reason why this is bad idea. Down grading awesome game like this is fail… Just like Smite… they made it console and game suddenly became unplayable. LOL
The wings first of all, are WAAY to big. They look horrible on an Asura. and why can’t you change the color?
They also don’t flow right and are very rigid. When you run they shouldn’t move back and forth on how you run, they should actually move like wings.
You can dye everything else in this game, why are you restricting dyes on things you pay for with Gems?

Living world was a good idea, it was just badly executed. They’ve also sort of started learning how to do it well. I don’t like the idea that Living World will be abandoned (as then we have to wait for years between content and story), or the idea that someone new (who hasn’t learned from its mistakes) will step in.
I rather have bursty expansion every 2 years then poor living story content like we had it. I sure love SW and DryTop, but i see that as different part of game not as living story.
Living story was all except last season 2 episode 8 a failure. I really enjoyed last episode, but rest was just JUNK.
I simply don’t like the idea to give me a part of map every now and then. I would love to see that they say it we will give out content every 3 months, and i’m fine with that. If you don’t wish to deal with awesome hype and changes just stick to old expansion tradition. ( I liked GW1 expansions way more then GW2 expansions, regardless of HoT)
I did a thorough test as to why many times my pet doesn’t use F2 immediately after I command, and here’s what I found out, and I was shocked by how broken pet AI is, it’s probably more broken than it used to be.
Ok, currently most pet has an AI like this, REGARDLESS of what type of F2 they’re using.If there’s no target or no enemy nearby, the AI is fine, pet will use F2 immediate after I press it. However here comes the real problem. When there’s a foe nearby, when you press F2, what pet will do is to CHARGE to enemy REGARDLESS OF WHAT TYPE OF SKILLS THEY HAVE, and ONLY USE F2 WHEN THE PET’S SKILL RADIUS IS WITHIN THE ENEMY. EVEN DISELCTING TARGET DOESN’T WORK, THE PET WILL CHARGE TO THE NEAREST ENEMY HE CAN SEE AND ONLY USE F2 WHEN HE’S NEAR THAT ENEMY. BOTH COMBAT MODE AND AVOID COMBAT MODE CAN’T FIX THIS PROBLEM.
This broken AI applied to BEAR, WOLF, DOGS AND JUNGLE STALKER TOO. When I try to use my bear to cleanse, what my bear will do is he’ll try to get close to the enemy before he uses his cleanse, WTH? It suppose to be a self support skill, but using this aggressive AI? Does my pet try to cure the foe’s condition not mine!?
To make the matter worse, when I try to fight a thief and start using my wolf’s F2 when the thief enters stealth, what pet does is he’ll rush to the nearest none stealth target and try to use F2 on that random target, so thief can just easily approach me and land a backstab. Many times Ik thief is coming, and switch to wolf and press F2, my pet will just rush forward to thief’s previous stealth location and try to F2 there. This type of AI clearly affects my performance and greatly hinders ranger.Seriously Anet, WE CAN CONTROL THE PET TO THE LOCATION WE WANT THEM TO USE THE SKILL. WE DON’T NEED YOU TO ADD THAT EXTRA AI THAT DECIDE WHEN PET IS GOING TO USE F2 FOR US! PLEASE JUST REMOVE THAT AI AND LET US JUST USE F2 EXACTLY WHEN WE WANT TO!

As ranger with 1,4k hours i can tell you that pet takes practice.
You can trigger your F2 at any point and they don’t have to run to target.
How to achieve this:
A .. you
B .. enemy
C .. pet
If C runs from A to B, you want to target pet, and F1.
Next step, you want to trigger your pet F2 when ever you want, and not when pet gets in range. In order to achieve this you have to (remove target) left click on ground to just remove target and follow by hitting F2 ASAP. This will trigger instant F2 spell casting ( if you use alpha wolf for fear, or hound to immobalize) .
If you don’t remove target, C will run from A to B till it’s in range, and try to use F2 then.
People underestimate rangers, but they don’t know how much skill does ranger take to go on pro level. Every ele mesmer warrior guard or engie can be decent, but to be decent ranger, is lots of effort.

I like pvp, but once every few weeks i go farm PvE and because every loot is packed into a bag, i’ve broke my left mouse button, I managed to replace it with new trigger but that gave me thinking.
So I have next question, I want to save myself from breaking another mouse by using:

I also recommend picking up a quality gaming mouse as well. The razer lachesis I’ve got is about….I wanna say 5 years old? Aside from the slider pads being worn down to nothing from so much use (razer wants $20+ for replacements), it still works incredibly well.
I’m running my GIGABYTE ICE FORCE M9, it serves me 3 years already and it’s awesome, that being said i’ve played league of legends a lot (10+ per day, so this is one of reasons also why things went to hell). I could compare gw2 with league of legends clicking fest easily I don’t buy Razer products because they are overpriced, i just feel like i can get same quality for a lot smaller budget from competitors on the market. Congretz for honest realistic topic, finally someone that actually made this in fair way.
People will still go full kittened on this topic, because EOTM, but as you’ve said, once you get to the point where people know the game, know the class and their enemy, then ranger is no where near OP, specially not LB ranger. I also find GS rangers easy to kill, much harder to deal with is what i play LB+s/d or LB+s/a.
People have to learn t he game, and see for them selves why some things work out and some don’t, I have 1,4k on ranger, and i’m still learning new things every day because people are creative, and you’ll always have challenge. And what people forget the most, every class has its counter.

That’s what ranger is if you play it berzerker, i avoid to play condition builds because they are boring mostly melee range, that’s why i don’t even try to go condition way.
What’s sad is, mesmers complain how they cannot kill ranger, sure you will complain if you play poorly, but if both are skilled, there is no way to fight berzerker mesmer vs berzerker ranger… ranger will always lose. You can pop in 1 skill rotation.
Mesmers are the only class that I have huge problems with. It’s horrible how bursty stealthy and low cooldown they have:)
EDIT: sure i could say, i’ll just go condition, and jump around to kill them, but hey that’s boring.

What is the purpose of 1500-200 range if from first to next corner there is 500 range..
You cannot use your range nor advantage of the classes. All this closed fights are making me tired of GW2… Stronghold.. clustered that more would be only on in age of Baroque…
Same with new WvW map, what will happen? Same as Obsidian shard.. full of traps, clustered and no one ever goes there any more..
That’s first 15 levels and i agree it sucks if you are new, it’s worst first 15 levels in my entire MMO history(GW1 had this so much better). What’s funny is, when you hot 80, you have another worst enemy… ACCOUNT BOUND ************* EVERYWHERE…. Who ever invented account bound, did bring the worst game content to GW2.
