I’ve said it before, and I will repeat it here. We are aware of the problems with the WvW achievements and will be doing more to address them in the near future. Currently it is more complicated to solve the problems than I would like, which means we need to have a fully comprehensive solution before doing anything.
Still waiting babycakes.
This is stuff that the player-base really wants.
So no, don’t expect it anytime soon.
Signet of Spite?
Surely you mean Signet of Win.
Male norns look whack. They just waddle around like kittened giant babies.
Female norn looks kitten coz :
1 – Taller legs. kitten yes.
2 – Human females look like whores or babies.
3 – Female norn is all about effectiveness. No room for fancy or useless.
4 – Nordic typed female warriors are cool as heck.
5 – Try to get this look on female human :http://i.imgur.com/YycQBwr.jpg

Female norn are real women.
P.S. – Take a full-body tattoo for extra awesomeness with endgame armor skins.
Hmmm i think yaks bend may come out on top again, they are really stable and focused, they always perform better than expected. They could even pull a number two this week, which would make it hard for FA to come back for the number two spot. Unless something major changes throughout the weeks, HOD pretty much is a lock in for first place. The only way to take em out is with alliances, but honestly not sure thats even enough. Yesterday in off hour they had more than FA and Yaks combined.
Dont know how the rest of FA feels about alliances though. I’m all for it though haha. After all its what WvWvW was made for
And we might get even more transfers as the season progresses.
I was hoping FA would crush us so that some of our karma trainers and bandwagon guilds would call it quits, but oh well :[
As a recent ‘bandwagoner’ to HoD, I find this excuse of bandwagon server slightly null. Yes HoD got a lot of transfers, but the people who transferred are now HoD members. If you scroll up on this post there is a lot of ‘HoD are going to get crushed etc etc’ but as of now were 30k up on FA and with an outnumbered pug group we were wiping FA guild groups all morning. So carry on with the ‘Hordes of Denravi’ because despite the trash talking a few days ago, HoD haven’t had the ‘beating’ we were promised yet.
Our numbers are ridiculous.
There’s nothing honorable about sending wave after wave of bearbows and zerker guardians to completely wear down the enemy. If the season winner revolved solely around skill and organization, FA would be the clear winner.
They should just make it so you get points for capping a structure / camp rather than holding it.
Locking PPT at off-hours is a ridiculous idea because it’s arrogant to think that only your timezone matters. I feel like an overhaul on how the PPT system works is the way to go.

I’d highly recommend Guardian or Mesmer based on your post.
Both professions perform well in every aspect of the game and both offer the most support to their teammates (Elementalist is right behind, in my opinion).
HoD is definitely middle tier, maybe 4 at best, based on gameplay last night. We all know Eternal is, more often than not, PuG city but this was beyond bad [Bags] and some Airstrike guild kept wiping and wiping and not adapting their playstyle. Played like 2 hours last night and they were HORRIBLE. Their main zerg ran hammer trains that were so disorganized that they wiped to a much smaller zerg of CD’s like 5 times. It was embarrassing. They didn’t even go after the elementalists in the back crushing them with ice bow showers and meteor storms. We just laughed each time when 2 elementalists kept decimating them. We also dropped null fields and wells in front of their feet and they just melted. They have no one going after the back line.
I mean hammer trains are a valid strategy, but if this is the only strategy they employ it’s good game. So easy to beat nowadays, especially with such bad organization. This server will implode if it doesn’t adapt. HoD will have a tough time against FA, IoJ, SBI, and YB that know how to deal with hammer trains easily.
They do have some good guilds [WAR], [KoME], [ERP], [FKB], {BRL], [Bsty] that will keep them up there for the NA time slot though.
Your post hurts to read.
The [Bags] and [Inc] trollage is hilarious in the first place, but the better part is the HoD guilds that you listed as good. Thanks for the laughs.
(edited by Flytrap.8075)
It used to not stacking till one clever guy at Anet thought its a great idea to make them stack, so they did sadly. In my opinion it should count as a crowd control instead of a condition so you can use stunbreakers/stability to avoid being stuck in same spot for 10sec or even more.
I believe most would agree with you.
Immobilize stacking is super lame and it doesn’t really make sense as a condition in the first place.
Yeah, this much has been really clear to guilds on FA. It’s sorta a running joke that any engagement with less than 3:2 numbers is an easy mop-up for an organized FA guild.
Unfortunately, there’s a lot of engagements with far worse odds than that, and of course all night long there’s not much resistance. Particularly that second bit will win HoD the match.
The funny thing is how misguided our pugs are.
They think the karma train guilds are a gift from God and they always complain that they’re outnumbered when they get trampled by an equal-numbered FA zerg.
They’ll learn soon enough.
Norn is the true master race.
Not sure if OP is serious
He can’t be, that or he is the WORST warrior in the history of GW2. I have seen one that has been able to keep insane numbers of immobilize, fear and insane damage meanwhile having blocks and immunities….
Warrior are FAR from terrible in Duels. They will win more than they lose. Unless the Warrior is awful.
Unless you face good players on thiefs/mesmers/dps guards/necro. And if you aint running condi (we all know this spec is OP) or hambow (that is good but not the best duel build compared to those classes) you have a terrible low win rate.
Yeah go ahead and play some hotjoin etc and your like a god. Now bring that into 1vs1 servers and you have zero chance. Go ahead and deny it, but its the true and because hambow did its job we see more nerfs that not only affect that build but also others builds.
Maybe you should stick to PvE.
As a recent HoD transfer, I had no clue that the bandwagon would be this strong.
I myself and numerous friends predicted last week that FA would put us in our place. A lot of the guilds on HoD revolve around karma trains and, coming from SBI, it is clear that our pugs and commanders are not as organized or skilled as they need to be. I’m honestly amazed that our numbers / coverage could get us this far.
P.S. – Really looking forward to next week
How does a game do everything mechanically so well but then polish it with the most abysmal UI possible?
WvW is an unorganized zerg fest, commanders run around with an unknown amount of players/siege/supply counts.
No simple raid UI, no ability to manage group make ups, no quick supply count without calling for everyone to stack on your location and type a command.
No quick way to label groups in order to assign tasks. No surprise it’s a massive zerg fest since release.
All this on top of culling which is just eating away at Commander morale cause they don’t have the most basic tools for organization, they spend more time wondering what they have to work with then actually thinking of a tactic.
Arenanet, get with the 21st century and do what games did 10 years ago, have a functional UI on top of their game, I can’t even tell how much HP my party members have outside of a green bar. Who gave the green light for WvW on release? Did you spend 90% of the time figuring out how many non essential NPCs to throw out in the “living battlefield” before thinking “Hey if we want this to be a warzone with siege/tactics and fortified positions maybe the commanders will want to have an idea of what forces they are leading/supply they are carrying/grroup make ups/map locations of squad groups/rally points etc”
This is more of a rant than anything but it just baffles me at how bad the game is supported by it’s UI. I have a commander tag and I dread using it because it’s more of a headache then it is fun to command in this game. You have thrown no bone to the players who are attempting to enjoy your WvW experience, it’s literally a joke.
Apparently you can get infracted for telling the truth now.
So when is the stream? is it over?
You didn’t miss anything, it was a complete waste of time and had almost nothing to do with WvW.
The only “new” information is that they’re working on “stuff”. Cool.
I wish I had known beforehand that this would just be a rehash of their blog posts.
The WvW tease was a low-blow.
This stream was a complete waste of time.
I blame the lack of capes on the horrible Charr clipping.
Stupid tails ruining everything
Well until you actually have the YouTube Videos, you have nothing, We have people constantly using Frapps and video recordings. Watching HoD Players using Cross Profession Abilities on other Professions, Instant Reviving after Downed, Constant Invulnerbaility, and Speed Boosts.
The “one” person you mentioned was dealt with by ArenaNet as they were caught, so until you turn in your Hackers, we will be making videos of yours and anyone elses’ and submitting them until they are addressed.
It’s not one person; it’s several people in one guild.
And from what I have seen, HoD does not take kindly to hackers. One Mesmer in another guild that shall go nameless hacked into CD’s Overlook last weekend and was instantly called out in map chat.

You go- guys sound so entitled, if you want free armor every new update go back to WoW.
And a lot of people are (Note: Replace WoW with any other MMO on the market).
I also like your use of the buzzword “entitled”. Asking for new content one and a half years after release that players don’t have to throw their wallet at to access sounds like a pretty reasonable request to me.
(edited by Flytrap.8075)
I can’t follow the people who are amazed by this patch….
People where screaming for content and a more interesting fighting style away from zergs in general.
Delivered are more colors and a wardrobe.
How this is satisfying someone is way beyond me.If this points on something bigger i am more concerned than amazed
I’m hoping we get some new content in the near future.
This game really needs it.
“sustained damage pet class”_.
AKA Spirit Build.
AKA cancer.
Many people are in agreement of the Selected Fees of Transferring Servers. I agree totally. I play on Northern Shiverpeaks, after paying my 1800 Gems to transfer. We typically played around the Bottom Ladder of Silver League after diligently working our positioning there. Our server watched “Henge of Denravi” Server amass numbers from surrounding Servers. However obtaining these “new” or “transfer” Players didn’t make them better as a Server. They have the same amount, if not more Hackers in WvW, which is for some reason being ignored by ArenaNet, Their numbers swelled severely, contaminating accurate results from Week 1 of this Tournament. Our Server is getting steamrolled not by Superior Skill, but the sheer numbers they obtained. With that result, Henge of Denravi will likely become Third Place in Silver League, not because they earned it through sheer skill, but by their hordes of kitten. Understandable tactic, but shameful in regards to the fact of the matter they as a Server have not improved in skill, or talent because of these transfers. Crystal Desert got slapped in the face as their primer Guilds left them. Honestly other Servers in Bronze League could have used the population boosts over us in Silver League.
Northern Shiverpeaks Server prides itself on hard work and dedication. You want to make a name for yourself or become a Celebrity Commander, the opportunity to field people is here. However, respect and honor is earned here at this Server. Northern Shiverpeaks may not have the coverage desired or numbers, but they do not lack the efficiency of Group Busting (Zerg Busting), and we can typically handle 2v1’s and 3v1’s with considerable tenacity. Northern Shiverpeaks continues to strive for perfection, and their excellence shall not be underestimated. We will take your Tier 3 Structures when you least expect it.
However we encourage as a Server newcomers in our WvW Experience, we do not discourage outsiders coming to be apart of our community, we just make it known we won’t put up with immaturity of unreasonable implication.
If curious about our community, just visit our TeamSpeak 3 Server:
www.northernshiverpeaks.org (no password)
There just look for the Shield Symbols on names in our Server, they are usually Moderators ( “M” ) or Administrators ( “S” ) that can facilitate requests.
I’m not sure about how many hackers are present on our side, but there is a certain guild on your server that shall remain nameless that has numerous speed-hackers.
I’ve never seen so many until playing against NSP and CD.
Yeah, so they just showed us part 3 a day earlier yesterday…
So nothing will come today and I can stop waiting for nothing xD
This was a very wise move in my opinion given how barren the last blog post was and also considering the fact that it’s not even a part of the feature patch.
Yea because companies do things for money.
No one is saying that this game should be a charity.
However, there’s a major difference between making the Gem Store an alternative mode of convenience versus a monopolized market. I simply feel that ANet’s focus on their Gem Store is far too strong, although this probably stems from the fact that NCSoft takes all of the Gem Store profits and distributes them as they see fit.
It’d be nice if money spent on Guild Wars 2 actually went to Guild Wars 2 intead of financing Wildstar.
It’s pretty clear they’re going to get rid of servers a la EoTM. They just won’t admit it at the moment in order to keep people from jumping ship right now to the new MMOs coming out.
With megaservers rendering servers obsolete in PvE, servers in WvW is going to be unsustainable — people won’t even know what WvW server they’re on.
The failed EoTM is the future of WvW.
A guild should decide to be part of one of 3 alliances of guilds for WvW, they should keep the current match-up going but players should be able to guest on other WvW matchups representing the same side. Well anyway, this is what ESO has done and it works miracle.
No offense, but before you start praising ESO’s system you probably should wait couple months, the system there is not even tested so no idea how “it works miracle”. From I read it seems it already began to have population imbalance issues just a week after head-start (now that might change too, but we really don’t know how it’s going to pan out until enough time is given).
I’ve also heard that omniblobs are running rampant over there.
Sorry, let me specify.
Do not give condition builds their holy grail armor set by making Condition Duration, Condition Damage, Toughness a thing.
Honestly, this is worse than you think it is. This lacks all of the precision necessary for critical hit conditions, which are a major component in condition damage builds’ strength. Meanwhile, if you cut out toughness for precision, you’d result in a really glassy build that was easily smashed. I think Rabid as we have it now is genuinely the best all around for what a strong condition build wants especially with Undead rune synergy.
That said, I do think a:
[Major] Condition Duration
[Minor] Condition Damage
[Minor] Precisionstat combination would be really cool for a glass cannon condition dps build.
If Precision is necessary in Condition builds, then please explain to me why Dire armor has become increasingly prevalent.
I’d be 100% ok with glass condition armor sets coming out. However, I don’t ever want to see another armor set that is catered to the already ridiculous condi-bunker builds that are out there.
The problem with Ranger is that its design philosophy is set in stone by the devs as a “sustained damage pet class”.
This model is extremely limiting, and I find it odd that Necromancer was designed as an “attrition-style” profession, yet they have so much versatility at their disposal when it comes to build diversity.
The first Feature Patch of Guild Wars 2: flop or success?
Pre/Fero/Vit
Pre/Fero/Tough
Fero/Pre/Vit
Fero/Pre/Tough
Any of the above would be welcome additions.
Pro Tip: Crit Damage (aka Ferocity) can now be a primary stat if that opens up some suggestions.
Jon
Unless having that as a primary stat will make a set that’s higher DPS than berserker, I don’t see it changing much.
…and if it does perform better than berserker, then that just means everyone will need to replace their armor.
Before we get into needing new stat combos, we need game balance that promotes using something other than berserker gear.
This line of reasoning is so misguided.
The only game-mode where Berserker gear is “promoted” is PvE. Further nerfing Berserker gear just so running other gear sets becomes viable in Fractals and Dungeons is a huge mistake; no matter how you balance this game, there will always be an optimal setup available for PvE.
Sure, you could make Condition builds acceptable in PvE, but this would have drastic consequences in WvW and potentially sPvP, and the only thing that would change is that you’d be kicked for not running the best Condition setup possible rather than the Berserker dilemma that we currently have.
(edited by Flytrap.8075)
P.S. – Whatever you do, do not put condition duration as a stat on armor.
It already is – it’s called Giver’s.
Sorry, let me specify.
Do not give condition builds their holy grail armor set by making Condition Duration, Condition Damage, Toughness a thing.
He means Armor, not weapons

Jon
Ferocity, Precision, Vitality.
I like to call it Seeker’s.
P.S. – Whatever you do, do not make Condition Duration, Condition Damage, Vitality/Toughness a thing. I hope to never see the day where Perplexity / condi-cheese roamers have access to main stat Condition Duration gear.

All of the trait changes and additions will certainly affect us and cause a little bit of excitement as we tinker with new builds.
Also, account bound WXP.
Those are all pretty amazing in my book and I’m happy.
The new Grandmaster Traits are not that game-changing and account bound WXP should have been added months ago.
The trait changes are a step in the right direction, but after a year and a half since release, it’s simply not enough. Come back to me when they add in some much needed new utility skills, elite skills, and weapon sets for each profession.
I think if you dig through all the details on the feature patch, all players will be poorer overall anyway.
Overall, its a definite nerf to every players gold/bank balance. You will have additional costs buying new traits/runes/sigils/jewelry, have to pay double waypoint costs occasionally, less loot in ALL champion bags, unless you are in a mega guild you can’t do world bosses as often.
Don’t forget that they found a way to make people buy transmutations more often through the Gem Store with their wardrobe changes.
Or that they finally managed to monetize a whole game-mode by tying your PvE appearance to sPvP.
Or that unidentified dyes will no longer drop in the open world and are being added to the Gem Store now.
Out of all the games I have played, Guild Wars 2 easily has the most gold sinks.
3. Random: Capes / Cloaks … when? In this interview Mr. Johanson assured us that you are working on them.
You must learn to take everything that Colin says with a grain of salt; you’ll only end up disappointed otherwise.
So if I get it right, there STILL won’t be Guild Halls and/or Guild Capes added to the game?
It’s truly tragic
This whole feature patch introduced more gold sinks and further increased the profitability of their Gem Store.
I’m sorry to say that you hit the nail on the head with your post.
And since you can’t farm world bosses or nodes anymore, you’ll be making WAY less gold. I hope everyone who liked free armor repairs is happy. The price of EVERYTHING is going to skyrocket.
You forgot to mention that the waypoint fees are basically doubling since you’ll have to teleport twice if coming from an outside map.
If you’re going to announce new information that is relevant to WvW tomorrow, why didn’t you just put it in the blog post?
If you’re just going to summarize the blog post that essentially said nothing, why even have a Ready Up episode to begin with?
I mean no disrespect, but your PR team baffles me.
What could you possibly have to talk about?
The blog post was barren.
(edited by Flytrap.8075)
Expect changes to Commander tags and squads in 2016.
It makes no sense for them to have the mega server for PvE and do nothing about WvW. In fact, thinking about it I believe they should make 3 mega servers and redesign WvW to represent those 3 mega servers as 3 WvW alliances.
And turn WvW into Karma Train zerg omniblob central? No thanks.
It would have been nice to know about these changes before, you know, you hosted the server transfer sale.
How oddly convenient of you to create a special on server transfers only to do a massive overhaul on how servers function a few weeks after the fact.
So, with the new change, guilds are now cross realm….except when they WvW.
This means that:
1. WvW guilds now have to actively check what server people “come from”.
2. Normal guilds will now often be on several sides on a WvW battle at once.
This is….I don’t even know what this is.
It sounds like a cluster !@#$.
- removed repair cost =
- doubled waypointing cost =
Ô_ó
This whole feature patch is just a disguised attempt to create more gold sinks and further monetize their Gem Store.
First the info is not complected so there may be something more to come and to post like this makes you seem very foolish in saying so . Next there are GvG they are played made and they work very well its best to be hands off for these GvG. What your saying give nothing to any one its mostly pointless that you even made the post.
The GvG’s held in Obsidian Sanctum are a Band-Aid fix with the major issues being that they are easily trollable and that only one can take place at a time per server matchup. There is also no official scoring system, leaderboard, or any way to compare your guild’s standing to that of others. Furthermore, you can only challenge guilds to a GvG that belong to a server that is in your current WvW match-up. To sum things up, the Obsidian Sanctum GvG’s are very, very flawed.
People have been asking for official GvG functionality and Guild Halls since this game was in development. I don’t know where this stands on ANet’s priority list, but I know that it ranks extremely high on mine, my guildmates’, and many of the players that I have come in contact with in both sPvP and WvW.
I can only hope that I will see this feature released during the lifespan of this game, but to be honest, I don’t think it ever will be. If there is one thing I have learned from ANet, it’s that they love anything involving the Gem Store and will go to huge lengths to strengthen it.

Uh-oh! Colin said, “before the end of the year…” Last year when he said that we were getting a precursor revamp that still isn’t here in the first quarter of 2014! This post is to be taken with a grain of salt then?
He also said we’d be getting a variety of new skills and weapon sets before the end of 2013.
So yes.
