Its a good change, 300 isn’t much
Thanks Mr. Moneybags.
What this game really needs is more gold sinks, right?
Also, where is that new CDI we were promised? Did I miss that? Or are they still busy ignoring all the feedback from the first one?
I love how ANet has received copious amounts of player feedback over the past year, and yet you still have people like Mark saying things like, “The best thing you guys can do is give us feedback and tell us what we can do better”. It’s just utterly insulting at this point.
To me, it’s become quite apparent that the CDI’s are just there for the devs to circlejerk their own ideas around and to give ANet another way to pat themselves on the back; Ready Up sadly serves the exact same purpose.
Yea, I’ll eat my keyboard if they actually come out with something substantial like a new race.
This.
I think we all agree that rewarding players who had to wait for their due prize was a good thing.
They’ll infract you if you say otherwise.
In Anet’s mind, Guild Wars 2 has a very robust end-game: it’s called the Gem Store.
You should be able to transfer back to a NA server and speak to the Battle Historian there to retrieve your rewards.
Was this a serious response lmao. Like really you expect someone to spend more money because of you’re guys mistake….
Remember that you can convert gold into gems at anytime through the Gem Store currency exchange! (rolls eyes)
If her response was actually serious… wow.
ANet doesn’t know how to handle this game-mode correctly so instead they choose to neglect it.
WvW has added a great deal of content and rewards over just the last calendar year.
Sorry, spit my morning coffee all over my monitor when I read this.
Another useless Ready-Up.
It’s been almost two years since the release of GW2, and yet the only new depth that professions have received are some trait updates and one new healing skill.
How much longer do we have to wait to get new weapon sets, utility skills, elites, etc. added for each profession, or is this simply never going to happen?
We anticipate being able to provide another update with an ETA for the fix, soon.
Time to place some bets!
I like this idea.
The advantage for playing an Asura is just far too strong at the moment. I think adding casting bars would be an easier solution, but they seemed against them the last time it was seriously mentioned.
The trait changes made leveling a new character even more tedious that it was before.
Congrats on your accomplishment, ANet.
I see that the white knights are breeding.
=^_^=

What you see is what you get.
Don’t expect much more or you’ll only end up disappointed.
I already realized two years ago that GW2 is a PVE game. My expectations were always matched.
It is kind of funny to look back at how the game was at release and then compare it to what we have now.
I mean, professions are essentially the same as they were back then: no new utilities, no new elites, no new weapon skills, barely any new traits. WvW is largely unchanged… it’s no wonder that people are getting burnt out from the same-old-same-old.
But hey, at least we got to experience the glorious Game of Thrones-like saga that was Scarlet and Living Story Season 1, right?
I think my major WOW! moment was Colin’s blog post about sPvP being an iceberg; boy, that sure was hilarious.
The fact still remains that if there was a bug interfering with the Gem Store, you could rest assured that it’d be fixed within 24 hours.
WvW has been largely neglected since launch. I mean, the only key updates we’ve gotten were EotM, which is a beautiful map that unfortunately became a karma train camping ground, and account-bound World Experience, which ANet held off intentionally to add to their amazing Feature Patch.
To put it simply, they literally had one job for this whole season: distributing rewards once the matches came to a close. It’s disappointing to see that they can’t even do that correctly or in a timely manner. I understand that unforeseen problems pop up during implementation, but, to put if frankly, that’s a pretty lame excuse when this is the only update that had to be pushed out for WvW over the duration of Season 2 and even going as far back as the arrival of the Feature Patch
I already said it earlier, but maybe if WvW actually got periodic updates, I would be a lot more empathetic towards ANet and wouldn’t really mind that the rewards were delayed; in all honesty, it’s just a skin that doesn’t really amount to anything. But, since this is really the only thing that WvW-focused players have had to look forward to all season, I really just can’t wrap my head around what ANet’s so-called WvW Team has been doing this whole time.
(edited by Flytrap.8075)
How do you propose that the QA team properly test something that is due to go out to millions of players? Fact is, there’s no way to find every bug. Every game out there has them, and it’s because things happen that can’t be predicted until it’s in the live environment.
Doesn’t really matter at this point.
Maybe if WvW got the attention that it deserves, people would be able to cut ANet some slack and wouldn’t be up in arms over the delay to the Season 2 rewards. Alas, this is simply not the case and the one thing that people had to look forward to since before the season even started is currently in limbo.
I can only hope that Season 3 will bring something new and exciting, but I honestly doubt it at this point. Hey, at least we’re due for a Gem Store update tomorrow! Queue eyeroll.
WvW is a dying game-mode because ANet’s lack of attention has left us in a state of perpetual stagnancy.
Maybe they’ll throw us a bone for Season 3, but I honestly doubt it.
Still waiting
Engineer and Warrior are both ridiculously strong right now.
If we’re talking about the other definition of broken, then obviously Ranger is the only correct answer.
It honestly amazes me that this was not sorted out further in advance.
I get that kitten happens; no one expects for updates to go perfectly every single time. However, the WvW season was seven? weeks long and the only thing that ANet had to get right was the reward distribution and they couldn’t even handle that.
I feel like this is a perfect display of just how much ANet cares about the WvW community.
Carrots on a stick
Yes, ANet loves empty words
This is all we get
It doesn’t say anywhere though that this is all LS2 is going to be.
I’m just not going to get my hopes up… ANet has a history of hyping releases that only end in disappointment.
I wonder if this is their idea of permanent content.
How is it not?
If the story modes that we’re going to be able to experience are in a similar vein to the Zhaitan fight, I couldn’t care less if we have permanent access to it.
It all depends on what kind of events they implement, but I’d really just prefer that they introduce new zones and such instead of story encounters that I’ll do once and then be done with forever.
I wonder if this is their idea of permanent content.
Mark, with all due respect, you guys have received ridiculous amounts of feedback and not much has come of it.
Asking for more at this point is just insulting.
Sounds like another filler episode.
Maybe if we ask nicely they’ll give us more recycled content until Season 2 launches.
I see reddit down-voting and flaming whenever someone brings up converting gem to gold through the gem store.
Good.
Rewards earned solely through gold sinks and credit card swiping are extremely lame. Call me crazy, but I like to earn things through actual gameplay; I’m glad to know that there are people out there that feel the same way I do.
I kinda thought everyone was just running the KoME tag, because they seem to have way too many people.
[KoMe] is the main omniblob guild of Hordes of Denravi; they never enter a map without at least 60+ members.
Best Guilds: KOME (HoD)
You must be kidding.
“Reheated Leftovers for Chinese Appeasement”
Beautiful. I really do think that ANet should have gone with his suggested update title instead
Ranger is forever doomed to mediocrity because ANet is not willing to alter their design philosophy or introduce sweeping changes to an underwhelming and bland profession.
See the Ranger CDI for more info
Awesome post.
Unfortunately, ANet has made it pretty clear that they’re only interested in Gem Store updates and PvE zergfests. I guess we can always hope for some exciting WvW content, but I’m not going to hold my breath.
stuff
From your posts, I can only assume that ANet is always right and that they can do nothing wrong in any way whatsoever.
The blatant fanboyism is just getting obnoxious. Yes, I understand that there are a lot of people out there who are absolutely in love with this game and have no fault with GW2’s current state. However, you need to acknowledge that there are also a lot of players out there who are simply bored to tears with this game because no real, substantial updates that offer increased depth and variety have been introduced since release.
The biweekly achievement list farmfest and Gem Store updates are not cutting it for me anymore.
P.S. – If ANet isn’t paying you to post positive feedback on the forums, they definitely should because you’re making a full-time job out of this.
WvW always has been and most likely always will be ANet’s red-headed stepchild.
I’m beginning to think that a certain someone is a shill.
I love how it’s always the same people who are so quick to defend ANet.
Why isnt it logical? Us who like the game defend it. People who rather things where done differently well argue against it.
I honestly see nothing out of the ordinary or are you of the opinion that its all bad no one likes the game yet there are these people who for some mysterious reason defend what they dont like themselves?
I just find it amusing that yourself and a few others never fail to rush to ANet’s defense.
I’m glad that you enjoy the game, but the fact of the matter is that GW2 has grown extremely stale and boring for a lot of us. I know that the majority of my guild is simply biding their time until another unnamed game is released and I myself haven’t logged in for almost a month now.
I’d love for ANet to release some substantial updates that breathe some much needed life into this game that I enjoyed for quite some time, but I simply don’t see it happening anytime soon. Don’t let that stop your white knighting, though
I love how it’s always the same people who are so quick to defend ANet.
So they knocked Lion’s Arch down just so we could build it back up?
Talk about a waste of development resources.
Yay for recycled content!
/sarcasm
The fact that something like this still exists in a “competitive” game-mode is hilarious.
I miss Ritualist
To stay on topic, I don’t expect any new classes during the lifetime of this game; it just seems completely unrealistic. If we did get a new profession, it would most likely use heavy armor to create a 3-3-3 balance amongst the armor types.
Your miss labeling content when you call it “zerg content” what it should be called is group content that has no restriction on the number of ppl who can join in.
So… zerg content?
Instead, have you considered offering a handicap in terms of points per objective and player kill? … snip …
A handicap isn’t a bad idea either, and would be a good topic for another thread.
This is probably the worst idea to be honest.
I thought we were talking about a competitive PvP game-mode, not a hold-your-hand-everyone-is-a-winner type thing.
The moderators close any threads about the issue -_-
And 10 new ones will always pop up to replace those closed threads until the issue is resolved.
Exactly, so why even bother closing them?
