The problem with chest thumping and bragging is that sooner or later everyone falls. The more arrogant the more likely demise is near. Being on SOR I have seen a lot of top tier servers on their way down. Every single one followed the same course. They all got over confident, they all got beat by a weaker foe, they all began infighting, and lastly they all migrated to new servers. This has been the course of many servers before and will be the course of many servers to fall.

People ask me why I’m always gunning for Blackgate, why I’ll give the order to let the JQ live so that we can smash the Blackgate instead. It’s because over the past countless weeks blackgate makes it a point to stroke their egos and say how wonderful they are compared to everyone else. They taunt, they talk trash, they push down others so they can feel better about themselves. Yet as soon as anyone defeats them they claim it being unfair or someone cheated or they’re the underdogs.

I have a simple philosophy: “He who talks the most crap, deserves a boot in their mouth to quiet their tongue.”

Arrogance is the easiest weakness to exploit. It’s also the most destructive when put to fire.

SOR: I hope we learn from those which we have passed on this crusade from #17 to Tier 1. Learn from IoJ, ET, HoD, SBI, and SoS. Being a champion isn’t about being able to win. It’s about being able to lose and learn from loss. To unite when things get tough. If we let our ego’s get in the way we will follow the same fate as those that have fallen. Every week is a new week, every foe is the greatest foe this game has to offer. Never let your guard down, and never fight each other. Stand strong and learn from our defeats so that we may better prepare for tomorrow.

P.S. SOR: Taking first place this week really would be a heck of a way to wish Roger “Oldroar” Rall happy birthday. (5/14). He may be gone but his legend lives on in all of us. Let’s make it happen

I get the “Trash Talk”, I have played football for over 20 years now and am quite used to the chest thumping, ego filled, championship chasing testosterone fest that becomes the first 3 seeds in a tournament. What baffles me is the amount of middle school drama getting spewed out across all 3 servers lately. I mean we must have some ridiculous trolls among us. The rumor mill is running wild. Can we put down the girl scout cookies and get back to having a blast in the most insanely fun wvw matchup in the game. JQ/BG/SOR matchup has been a ton of fun. I admit I tend to gun for BG more than JQ when I lead but thats because I follow a simple philosophy in sports and gaming. The biggest mouth gets my boot in it. BG has talked more trash about SOR than any server I’ve ever encountered which makes them my favorite to pick on. JQ brags about being #1, but thats because they are. Until someone steps up and dethrones the king they deserve to sit there and enjoy their number 1 spot and all the ego rubbing that comes with it. BG on the other hand has been a long time rival who I have always loved facing off with. When and if they drop to tier 2 I will miss them. They are formidable foes and a good fight to be had.

The one thing I think all of us could use more of is Sportsmanship. Ego’s and Rankings aside we are the top 3 servers in Guild Wars 2. All of us share this. Every time I step on the battlefield I know we’re facing off with the best players that this game has to offer and that my friends is what it’s all about. You never get better playing someone worse than yourself. This is as hard as it gets and you all should be proud to be in Tier 1. Don’t let the drama queens drag you down.

Re: SoR teaming up with JQ to take down BG
Welcome to a 3 Realm siege based game. I’m sure your used to Warhammers, and STWOR, and Call of Duties where 2 teams are divided evenly and always face off with each other. In 3 Realm combat games like DAOC and GW2 the third realm throws this balance out the window. You have to pick your battles. Sure you can topple 1 foe any time you want but what happens when the other foe uses your attack as a distraction to then take whats yours.

A commander that looks at his foes and encourages them to attack each other then opens the opportunity to work in the shadow and confusion of the battle. It’s a very smart play. Today it might be JQ that distracts Blackgate while I take a blackgate keep, tomorrow it might be reversed. It just matters who’s running in the solitary mega zerg. Divide and Conquer. It’s how wars are won.

One of the weapons of a commander is their opponents. If they can get them to attack what they want, when they want, tides can turn. Look at Bay last night. We were turtled in the lord room of bay hanging on for dear life expecting to be rubbed out. JQ read that assault as a distraction and acted on it to try to take Garrison from Blackgate. Blackgate had to pull off of their assault on bay to counter the Garrison assault and by the time that fight ended we had 1 keep, 5 supply camps, and 3 towers that we didn’t have at the start of that battle. JQ saw a window and they acted on it, we then acted on the window they gave us. We aren’t working together but JQ’s actions turned the tide of that siege on Bay that we certainly would have lost eventually. It’s tactics in 3 Realm siege gameplay. It’s what makes this interesting.

I just wanted to clear the air. The first time i heard the rumor a few weeks back I laughed and thought it was cute. then last week someone sent me a tell and last night i received an email. I figure it would be best to put it all out on the table so nobody has any questions as to what were doing or where were going. I had to scratch my head at this.

Nice post. What I find hard to believe is that some members of your own community would believe this. I’m not a part of your server and never have been, but if somebody told me this I’d ask if they’d been eating paint chips.

Also, a Bengals fan living in the Bay Area? Ouch. The 80’s must have been rough for you. I can relate though. I grew up in San Jose during the same time (I was a teenager in the 80s) but was a Rams fan. No clue why. I think I liked their helmets or something.

Yes, the 80’s were rough. Everyone made a point to tease about how bad the Bengals were. The 90’s people’s opinions changed and they just felt sorry for me. The 2k’s again liked to remind me of how my team likes to get to the point where it counts and fail. By the time they end up wining a superbowl I just might be in the grave, but I will continue to keep on rootin for them. At least if they lose they have nice looking uniforms unlike some teams cough Steelers cough

If your going to make an investment in a new home, you might want to visit a wee bit first. I am Foghladha from GSCH on Sanctum of Rall and I can’t promise you that the Late night action will always fall in your favor. We don’t have easy mode around here but what we do have is a target rich environment which if you know how to use it can turn very lucrative and very fun very quick.

I run events on Sat / Sun mornings from 12-2am server time and can tell you that the late night crew is very helpful to each other. Even as we don’t share the same language a lot of time’s we still work together and see past boundaries to meet the overall goal.

Sanctum of Rall has a very homely feel. We share a wide range of activities that will surely keep your members from growing bored. We are a very tight knit community and pride ourselves on having fun above all else.

If you are the type of person that sees the outmanned buff and a map that has little to no objectives in your color as an opportunity rather than a deterrent, Sanctum of Rall will be full of opportunity. The most fun I have in this game comes between the hours of 10pm – 2am. It would be great to share the battlefield with some more friends.

Regardless of the server you choose, I highly recommend visiting their community sites, guesting to some pve events, or transferring a few key personnel over to see if it’s a good fit first. This can be a very costly mistake to you and your members if you go to the wrong server. Make sure it’s a place you can call home.

I would like to see some vids of GvGvG. Any guilds doing these on a 3 way action? That would be something worth seeing.

I know that many did not know Roger, but to say that he cared about scoreboards would be a very invalid judgement. Roger was all about having fun. We once rode into battle in chicken form with him just for a good laugh. We zerged Tier 4 in Warhammer with Tier 2 characters and even locked a zone with them. He didn’t care about winning, he cared about people. He cared about entertaining people and showing them a great time.

Now as to a plot to purposely drop to tier 2, I don’t think I’m aware of that one. Every week we’re out there fighting our backsides off. Are we destine to drop to tier 2? Yeah probably. Does that mean our server is a failure? No not at all.

The thing you need to understand is that Sanctum of Rall was not founded on the idea of being a Tier 1 PvP Server. It’s named after a fan who passed away before he ever got the chance to enjoy the game he loved. Those of us that knew him and played with him came from a casual, laid back, non-competitive pvp background. We weren’t about min/maxing or what item gave you the advantage this week. We were and always will be about having fun. People didn’t join Sanctum of Rall because they were the best PvPers. They joined because of the community and legend behind the name of this server.

We started out rank 17. We’ve climbed our way all the way up to where we are now. We’ve had friends from far and wide come to join us on Sanctum of Rall since launch. Our server was based off of casual gamers, social gamers, and the occasional pvper thrown in. To go from 17 to 2 or even 3 is quite a feat regardless of what anyone thinks. I’m proud of Sanctum of Rall and I know Roger would be baffled by our success.

Memories are not made by winning the battles you should have won, their made by winning the battles you should have lost. On Sanctum of Rall there’s no shortage of these battles. In the end whether you play this game to win or just to have fun, the only thing that should matter to you is what’s on your face as you log out. If it isn’t a smile you’re doing it wrong.

Bottom line… Tier One or Tier None have fun and enjoy Guild Wars 2, The Sanctum of Rall (or your server), and your choice of gaming communities. In the end being top dog only means that you have someplace to fall from. However making friends, memories, and spending time with people you enjoy to be with is something that regardless of what place you’re in always comes first. It’s the only thing you will take with you from this game when you leave.

Someday people will realize it isn’t the grind, ranks, loot, or stats that make an MMO experience, it’s the people you share the journey with, and the friendships you forge which last beyond a single game that is the real reward for playing MMOs.

You say Roger would not be happy with Sanctum of Rall, but I tell you he could never be prouder. Sanctum of Rall has forged friendships between guilds that previously were enemies. Look at TW and GSCH. Talk about trial by fire. TW was the arch-rival of GSCH in Warhammer. There was bad blood all around on both fronts. But somewhere on the Sanctum of Rall both Indo and I have come to an understanding and what was once conflict has now turned to cooperation and teamwork. The Gaiscioch and Tempest Wolves now fight as brothers and sisters for the same cause. Sure we both approach the game differently but in the end both of us want the same result. Unity. That is something Sanctum of Rall has and is in no short supply of. I am certain that in time you all will see that Sanctum of Rall is the strongest community in Guild Wars 2, perhaps not in numbers or in skill but in friendship, comradeship, and unity. We fight hard and know when to step back and just have some fun.

I implore everyone to seek out fun, smiles, and laughter. If you aren’t finding that in your current community perhaps it’s time to look for one that you can find enjoyment. There’s a lot of good people here as well as good communities. You should never sacrifice enjoyment for victory. I know some think you can’t be happy without victory, but I can assure you there is more to gaming that winning and losing.

In Re to the OP: There’s nothing wrong with some guilds taking a break after nearly 9 months of straight non-stop wvw. Hell listen to the meeting last week and Indo didn’t even know where something in the norn city was. Some of these guys haven’t stepped out of WvW at all yet. They deserve a chance to experience some of the rest of the game. Last thing we need is guilds like CDS, TW, Choo, Hire, FEAR, etc to hit burn out and stop playing altogether. If they need a week break I say take it. If we drop to Tier 2 so be it. They deserve a break once in awhile too.

To Sanctum of Rall: I salute all of you. We may not have always seen eye to eye but I stand by all of your side and am proud of all of you. Thank you for making Sanctum of Rall home. Roger would be proud.

Finally a patch that makes people play the game as it was intended. This is a huge improvement for the casual players out there. A sad sad day for the min maxers that have to use anything that gives them an advantage over the other guy. Overall I’m happy with this patch. It will improve the game a lot for those that do not play the game in the min/max style. Which means more people in WvW which is good for all of us.

I personally love this new fight. I’m sooooo tired of just being able to zerg over these fights. Bout time they throw some necessary intellegence into these fights. You don’t remember the fights that weren’t challenging. I can tell you however about the first time we killed Cuuldurach the Glimmer King after wiping on him for several years before Nimue finally slayed him. I can tell you about the fight when we downed Asha Catari in the middle of meridian. Memorable experiences come with over the top challenge. If you guys think this fight is op then play the other 99.9% of the content in this game and leave the challenging fights to those that eat sleep and breath challenge! Well done ArenaNet Well Done!

I think this week is going to be painful all around. SoR is going to be out for blood so that they can game the score to get into the #2 slot in T1. This week is going to be tough on SBI and TC. I personally wish that SoR wouldn’t have sandbagged last week. Unfortunately even though I fought to the end of the roll over trying to get SoR to jump to T1, it just wasn’t enough. If we would have pushed SBI out of T2 that week they would be fighting some folk not so overstaffed, and SoR would actually have someone to fight at all hours of the day. And TC would have become the meat in a Blackgate / Maguuma sandwich.

Now the deck has changed and the cards being delt, while better for SOR aren’t looking so great for TC. This next week you’ll likely be facing Blackgate and Kaineng. You all know the Blackgate zerg, Kaineng however you may not have met their new face. Be prepared for zerg sized spawn camping. TC I’m sorry to say but the hard road is not this week. Next week you will have a double dose of this. My advice, use this week to prepare. PINK you guys are going to have to be the light in the darkness on TC and pull your server through. You make a stand next week and your morale will be soaring. I know you guys can pull it off. But to do so your gonna have to fight a deck stacked against you.

Now SoR is not going to have easy street in T1. We will be facing 2 foes far stronger than ourselves. On top of that there’s going to be a blood war being a few of our key guilds came from Jade Quarry. Taking on your original home is not going to be easy. If you haven’t changed your tactics they will know your moves, know your tactics, and know your leadership. It will be a psychological war. While we’ve been climbing the charts, they have endured every server thrown at them. This fight will not be easy.

How well we do and how long we will stay in T1 is uncertain. The good news however is that we are making it there. After months of working together and moving toward a goal we are finally pulling it off. All I ask that if the heat is applied to us, please keep your hostilities and blame directed outward. T1 Servers have the highest catastrophic destruction probability. Blackgate to date is the ONLY server to survive a drop from T1 to T2 without completely destroying itself. For us to maintain our goal we will need to lean on each other when times get tough and not start blaming one another. Use defeat as lesson and grow from it united.

The next few weeks are going to be exciting to say the least. For SoR, for TC, and finally SBI will have a fair fight where they can start rebuilding. TC & SBI it has been fun but our time together has obviously past it’s expiration. PINK I hope to get some more fights in vs you guys this week. Gonna miss having you around next week. /salute

I want to take a moment to say to SBI and TC that you all have been great sports even as SOR got saturated with transfer guilds and became a wee bit over powering. I apologize for those in this thread and the one before it and ask that you do not judge our server as a whole on their actions.

There are a lot of chest thumpers who have come to SoR and see fit to try to rub things in others faces. Not all of us are like that. I prefer a good fight over a blowout any day of the week. I know SBI lost a lot of guilds over the past month and it’s sad to see so many turning their back on their home and leaving for other places. Those that have joined SoR from SBI, welcome. I only hope that in the end your loyalties for SoR are not superficial but one of a desire to be part of a community. We may go Tier 1, but as soon as we lose in Tier 1, are you going to stand by us or look for a new home like you’ve done before? I’m certain their are a few who come out of correct intentions and only want a better community to call home, but I have already seen a fair share of winning team seagulls flocking to our shores hoping to ride this train into T1.

Will our fate be the same as SBI, Henge of Denravi, or Eredon Terrace? Only time will tell but the important thing to remember is that if we are to endure, it’s not the skill of players, not the numbers in your zerg, and certainly not the points on the scoreboard that will keep us alive and well. It’s the fellowship within the community that forges the bond that keeps a server together. If that begins to break down and fracture we can expect to find the same fate that has destroyed so many Tier 1 servers before.

I implore all Sanctum of Rall to practice sportsmanship this week. TC and SBI are doing their best to put up a fight and we don’t need all the spitting in peoples faces and insults. I for one enjoyed the past week and hope that this week can bring some of the same result. Tier 2 has been very fun and enjoyable and I know the days ahead will be a lot more brutal. Now is not the time to trakittenalk and beat people down. It’s the time to prepare for the weeks ahead improve your game. Everything you think you know, is about to change the moment we walk into T1. Look at blackgate. They went from beatdown central to being the chump of T1. JQ and SOS are no joke. I’ve fought SoS and they have a very very unique approach. 24/7 coverage isn’t going to be enough. As long as we’re zerging and not dividing our forces into smaller teams we’ll be crushed.

When that gate opens and we walk into the arena you all better come out swingin, and swingin hard. Get your Superior siege, practice small unit tactics, and be ready to have a man sitting on EVERY objective 24/7. Both JQ and SoS have scouts that sit on every single objective and you will have to act fast and be surgical with your assaults. It’s a whole different ball game up in T1. On top of that we will have to be able to survive a loss without tearing each other apart. Fact is in T1 you win, you lose, you endure. We can’t be #1 forever, and we need to be ok with that. We need to learn from our defeats and move forward. In the end the only thing that will keep us there is unity. With getting over 30 new guilds, hundreds of new players, and a new hour or more long queue to go with it, a couple weeks before we go T1, the mix for disaster is there. We best take this week to build unity if we have any hope to survive our first week in Tier 1.

To TC, You guys have my respect and I hope to again fight against you. PINK you guys are a ton of fun and love your enthusiasm. Every time I saw you guys on the field I knew we were gonna have a great battle. If we ascend to T1, I will miss you guys and really hope your not far behind us. It’s been a true pleasure fighting against you and I salute you all.

To SBI, Thanks for putting up with us these past 2 weeks. I know we haven’t been the best sports about the whole thing but I continue to see SBI coming out to try to make a stand against us. I know you’ve lost a lot of your community and for that you have my sympathies. I hope you can rebuild and look forward to seeing the new SBI down the road.

All in all the past couple weeks has been a lot of fun, not because we’re wining, but because both TC and SBI chose to fight rather than PvDoor. No matter how bad someone is behind they continue to fight like it’s the last man standing. Thanks for the great fights and I hope we can squeeze a few more in before we move up.

Noting the image below, I can note that Choo actively utilizes the community server for their community led battles, but I have honestly never seen GSCH, FV, PSY, and many other guild tags in the TS server. I am going to make an educated guess and say that it is more than likely that this group of SoR invaders in the image had no verbal communication other than through their respective guilds.

I think we do just fine the way that we currently operate. I relay messages across chat just fine. Some GSCH will use TS but I will not require it. There’s a whole lot of foul language and explicit talk there and many of our crew has young kids that play with us. I don’t want them getting an epic new vocabulary while we’re trying to have a good time.

One other thing you need to think about is that Sanctum of Rall is the official home of the largest Christian Gaming Alliance in MMO’s today. They were here at the birth of this server and still make a large part of our community. If we are turned off by the language I’m certain they are as well. We use RaidCall because there’s a more mature and respectful policy in place that doesn’t allow for vulgarities to run rampant. We provide a child safe environment 24/7.

IF the TS server held a similar policy in place and we could bring our children and friends with us and not be exposed to constant vulgarities, trolling, and insults we would consider using it. But I’m not going to subject my friends, family, or comrades to that. Until then I will continue doing what I can to relay messages and let those GSCH that are willing to sit in TS to continue to sit in TS and relay.

Please no dragons in WvW. Please no world bosses in WvW. Nobody in the WvW community wants that. That line story event sounds kind of shady. “Escort mob X to position Y” type of thing is always a failure, because it will just turn into a PVE farmfest. It’s always easier to just SvE (Server vs Environment) than to actually fight the opposing faction, and remember, people choose the fastest possible route to their gear. If that route excludes killing players, then they won’t attack each other.

I have 50K kills and over 10K badges. Nobody I’ve ever met wants more PVE in WvW.

Not everyone thinks the same way. I for one think it would be awesome if the top team got a dragon to fight against them on top of the other 2 factions to knock them down a peg. Some of the most fun i’ve had in a game was in DAOC where they had NPC’s in the WvW lake. It adds yet another element to the mix.

But not everyone will agree with me. ArenaNet needs to keep their ideas open to all types of players. The hard core PvPers will have their thing. The Mixed PvE/PvPers will have their things, etc. They want to make something for everyone. I welcome creative ideas from the devs to bring something for everyone into WvW.

LOL I bet. You guys have been the Blue team for 10 weeks. 3 months zomg! When the time does come that your team color changes you’re not going to know what to do with yourselves.

I am actually thrilled with the competition this past week. With Blackgate it was like they never came out to fight unless they had megazerg 2000 on their side then they would opt for the fight where there is no resistance. So far this week I’ve seen more action than ever before. I love this matchup and have to say it’s been my funnest to date.

I know people give us crap on SOR because we’ve been in 5th for ages. Blackgate loved rubbing it in our face. However one little tidbit everyone ignores that I am quite proud of is that SoR has never gone DOWN a rank. Since launch we have only gone up. Each week we get a little better. Now someday I am certain we’ll go down a rank but to go 5 months without a single – rank is quite an accomplishment. One not many can say they’ve achieved. I’m proud of our server and am very happy to call it home. We don’t need to be #1. We need to be happy. Happiness comes from surviving the fights you shouldn’t, defeating the enemy far stronger than yourself, and achieving that which was deemed impossible. Our success is not measured by what place we are in but on how far we’ve come as a community. I look forward to our continued growth and adventures.

I wanted to be the first (maybe) to welcome SBI to the funnest tier they will play in. The Tarnished Coast folk are good sports and bring a pretty exciting fight to the field, while Sanctum of Rall is the little engine that could. Last night was entertaining to say the least. I have never seen so much Superior siege and omega golems in the entire time i’ve played. I think Blackgate saved up their monies and bought the farm last night. Was pretty impressive. Although I think it would have better been spent during primetime and not 2am. Had 20 GSCH running around SoR Border last night trying to teach some first time WvW and BG had the place locked down. We saw a few TC out and about but I instructed our troops to leave them be unless they attack us. With the number BG was fielding last night I figured every sword that could hurt them is an ally of ours so long as they don’t attack us.

I have to say playing Blackgate is quite nice. Even if they beat us week after week, they have yet to prove themselves enough to get into T1. Their doing a good job recruiting to get a 24/7 coverage and have some pretty strong leaders and guilds. This makes for great learning opportunity on the receiving end. They’re showing us effective places for siege, which doors to breach, which doors to avoid, and how to deck out a force with a boat load of omega’s to take a keep in under 4 minutes. The more we play them the better we will be. If it’s up to me, I’m going to do everything in my power to keep them in T2. SoR might not have the 24/7 coverage but I tell you as someone who plays late night and runs WvW events 12-3am pst some of the fights are wonderful and I wouldn’t miss them for the world. These are some fun, epic nights.

Haha I am fully aware of that guild, some really awesome people I know from there. Just didn’t mention them because they’re not a WvW guild.

For the record, GSCH was a RvR DAOC Guild, and RvR WAR Guild, and IS a GW2 WvW Guild. Just because we don’t come on TS in bulk doesn’t mean we don’t WvW. Over 80% of our families Activities logged are in the WvW lakes. The only reason we are playing Guild Wars 2 is for the WvW. So to say GSCH isn’t a WvW guild is quite silly. We just are more casual about it than most. We focus on Fun over being #1.

Yeah as a photographer myself the biggest feature I miss in this game is first person mode. My video work and screenshots would be drastically better and I could help further promote the beautiful artstyle of this game. I don’t know why they took it out but all I want for Christmas is first person camera

Greetings WvW Junkies & Bystanders Alike,
With so much negativity spewing over these forums I figure it’s high time for some constructive posts that highlight some of your favorite foes and why.

For me, my favorite matchup has been Isle of Janthir. After weeks of fighting these guys and so many different leadership styles going on over there they were one of my favorite to fight. They were typically honorable and always fought tooth and nail no matter how the odds were. I can’t point the finger at any guild in particular but have to give them all a firm salute and I hope to fight against them again someday.

Can we pretty please have our first person camera back. We had it in Beta and I have been looking forward to it’s return since launch. It’s very very very difficult to make fan made videos with my backside hogging up the entire camera. I really would like to be able to make some wonderful fan made movies in the Guild Wars 2 engine but need that first person camera so that I can film them. Can’t do it without.

TC we have a few vocal minority that taint the name of SoR pretty good but they do not speak for all of us on SoR. A large part of the community is actually very nice, friendly, and a good sport. Don’t let the few trolls and egos bother you there’s plenty of us kind hearted folk to enjoy mature conversation with. I personally am glad to see you all in Tier 2 and look forward to seeing you here in the future. It was great fighting you all on SoR Borderlands early this morning. Welcome!

I highly recommend it. We have a few guilds on our server that try very hard to taint our the server name, but we have even more trying to build a friendly community. It’s the small acts of unity that end up bonding a server. Kindness and inclusive events are the lifeblood of any thriving community.

I’m just excited to see “A Bunch of Roleplayers” in Tier 2. People love to knock them, but in the end nobody has personal investment in their character than that of a roleplayer. I imagine this next week’s matchup will be quite sad and lopsided with the holidays but I hope all 3 of us can stay T2 so we can have a real matchup on the far side of new years.

Skippin all the fourplay this week hu. :P

What i’m referring to is look at Borlis Pass.

1st Borlis Pass: 400,282
3rd Sorrow’s Furnace: 89,780
2nd Anvil Rock: 100,650

Or just about any of the other pairings. I haven’t seen a 100,000+ point difference between T2’s high or low yet. Right now there’s only 50K between #1 and #3. We saw how fast BG turned a 10K SoR lead into a 25K Difference. Within 2 days they changed that gap by more than 35K. Problem is people get it in their head “Oh well we lost now” and give up. The Battle is not over till it’s ink on paper and in the history books. Just because something seems impossible doesn’t mean it’s not worth fighting. Point’s mean squat. What matters is if your having fun out there. The battles Thursday are just as intense and enjoyable as they are on Monday. Often times I find more so.

I like Tier 2, lots of fights to be had. Blackgate and IoJ are both pretty good sports (for the most part). Never have a dull moment here in T2. I’ve fought SoS and quite honestly our night crew pretty much up and quit because of that matchup. At least this matchup is a little more balanced. Blackgate has a pretty massive night crew but for us being so close point wise without a real hard core night crew it’s saying something to the level of competition. So far I have yet to see a blowout in this tier. It’s always coming down to the wire Fridays. IoJ and BG both fight till the ink falls on paper and that’s why I like this pairing. If you’re here to PvDoor you might not like it so much but if your here for PvP this is a paradise. You can’t go 3 minutes without being in the thick of it. I’ve never fought so hard to keep BG and IoJ out of a supply camp as we did last night. We had to death train just to keep them from taking that supply camp. 3 times they tried and all 3 times we saved the camp. It was the most fun I had on a supply camp to date. I look forward to continuing this rivalry between the 3 of us and will be /saluting my foes until the day comes when one of us moves out of T2. Even still both BG and IoJ have my respects.

Honestly I’m going to miss you guys if you go up or down a tier. Blackgate has been one of my favorite opponents so far. Thanks mate, I’ll take a hard fight that leaves you exhausted afterwards any day of the week over a ghost town. PvDoor is great and all but nobody builds a memory of taking a unguarded keep. Personally this matchup has to be my favorite one yet. There’s always a fight going on. Lots of good times to be had. I may lead a legion of sheep into battle, and the wolves my devour us occasionally, but we have a blast doing it. Win, Lose, doesn’t matter to me. Making fun events for people to build memories and have a wicked good time is what it’s all about. I don’t care if I’m tier 1 or tier none as long as people are having a good time I’m happy. A little over 5 years ago the Gaiscioch Family started pooling guilds of like minds together for a resources share and community known as the Tuatha (Gaelic for Tribe). Our community is welcoming, focused on having fun and making memories. We do not tell people how to play, when to play, or how long to play. Our community is focused on encouraging involvement in events from dungeon running, to meta event farming, to crafting materials and zone completion runs, wvw activities.

If your guild is small and you’d like to have a playerbase and resources at your disposal the Tuatha can be a godsend. I think most of SoR are straight up WvW addicts.

This is starting to be true.

Sadly, this addiction from a lot of SoR’s community has made elitism rampant among us. Drama-filled elitism. People who are only having fun so long as they’re winning. Players or other guilds that may not be as skilled as some others are regularly being told to get out of WvW or outright being called a waste of space.

It’s childish, disrespectful, and wrong. I not only disagree with it, I heavily condemn it.

The anger towards your guild had nothing to do with an elitest attitude or being lesser skilled.

Your representatives at the server meeting requested an entire borderland for your guild as its so large, we accomidated this request by giving you green.

Your guild then preceded to come into red locking out members from the various other guilds that were assigned to red.

The outrage was more than justified.

I would really like to know who said we would have Green Borderlands all week. I posted that we would have Green Borderlands from 4:30 to 8PM on Friday. I never said we would be on GB all week. If “A Representative” said anything I’d really like to know who this Representative is so we can “talk”. This was never brought to my attention, no representative ever communicated to us that we were supposed to be their all week. If we commit to something we commit to something but whoever was representing us at that meeting was not by our authorization or even guidance. The should never have made ANY promise let alone commit us to a single battleground all week.

Historically, Gaiscioch goes to the battleground with the least number of commanders on it. We just around looking for the one without a queue and without a commander. We don’t like stepping on toes and we REALLY don’t like people telling us how to play or where to play.

This is a “GAME” it should be “FUN”. I personally would rather lose a thousand battles than lose the fun in an adventure. This should be fun, you should enjoy yourselves out there. I’m sorry if your so hell bent on being #1 that you lose sight of that. Gaiscioch will and always has been about making memories and making friends. It has never and never will be about being #1. If it happens great but not at the cost of a loss of enjoyment.

I agree with Nay. We need to move past this. Fallen Lords has their ways and nothing says you have to follow them. If you don’t like their lead feel free to start up a group or follow another. Not everyone’s playstyle is the same. Some people like the high stress warefare, others… well were old enough to fight the grey hair.

Each playstyle has it place but I would like to request that when things go bad, please please please, stop pointing fingers, stop accusing the other side of cheating, stop tearing each other down.

We as a community need to stand together, build each other, and put our best foot forward. It’s only through Defeat that we learn. But we only learn if were looking for the “Why” and “How”. Pay attention to where things went wrong and avoid it in the future. But at no time knock your brothers and sisters down.

If you beat down your own force eventually you’ll be left with nobody to watch you back. Pick each other up when we fall, learn from our defeats, and build a strong community that can endure. Theres no room for bickering and blame pointing. Only room for growth.

Quite honestly if you can’t see the future of a united Sanctum of Rall you might want to transfer to a server you can believe in. Burning bridges just ensures you end up on an island.

Lets stop the blame game and move forward.

We’re also actively building an oceanic team and have been having rather good luck with it. The past week we’ve seen a drastic improvement in our ability to maintain over night. If there are any oceanic guilds out there looking for some fun we have several commanders on the battlefield into the wee hours of the morning.
