Because people have access to tons and tons of blocks that have no timers?
Welcome to the conversation.
I did not no.
And I get the cleansing, but that’s all there is. A constant cycle of cleansing, reapplication. Reapplication is easier than cleansing.
Posted in pvp forum as well.
I come from DAoC. Loved the rvr system, balanced and fluid and didn’t allow for mistakes. You had to pay attention to cooldowns, timers, icons, CC so you didn’t break it etc. If you did break CC, the person became immune to those same negative effects for a certain duration. I love GW2 for it’s combat system, it’s unique and elegant in it’s own way but I don’t understand the thought process behind how conditions work.
Forgive me, but, it seems no matter what meta it is, conditions always seem to come out on top leaving power metas behind.
Why?
Simple. It’s too passive and easy. You can simply apply, and re-apply conditions whenever you choose, there is no immunity, there are no cool down’s it’s just passive, skill less spam. Spam Wars 2.
In previous MMO’s I’ve played you can augment such things as magic resistance, resistance to a certain elemental type, or negate them all together for a short period of time.
Certain stats would affect this.
All I am saying is, if toughness affects how hard you get hit by melee, and power dictates how hard you’ll hit with power, and condition damage dictates how much conditions tick for, then why is there no stat that at least defends against one type or all conditions?
Even if we had options to stack resistances versus one type of condi so it wouldn’t be so damaging or it’s effects were reduced, it would be better than nothing. Maybe I’d like some more resistance to confusion, or burning, or bleeding. Something.
For example: Chilled characters appear blue tinted, move 66% slower and skills recharge ~40% slower. For every 1.66 seconds chilled, only 1 second of cooldown will have expired.
Maybe with resistance it could be like 66%/44%/33%/22% etc and skills recharge in 40/30/20/10s slower intervals based on your level of resistance.
This game has literally evolved into fire and forget passive gameplay. If something like what I suggested above was implemented, gameplay would be more immense, longer, battles would be more engaging, and there would actually be some strategy.

SHADOW ABYSS NOTHING ELSE MATTERS
I see my troll post is going well.
I honestly could give two kittens about esports or the “divisions”. I still fight and beat many of the cancerous builds that are in hotjoin and the lower tiers. Skill> Builds. Any day.
Can anyone take a look at these builds and see which one I should do for solo roam? And was thinking either Scavenger runes or Perplexity runes, since most damage seems to be coming from confusion.

Everyone says sword, and I happen to have bolt, but, I really like the extra condi from Scepter, and, it doesn’t really seem that hard to stay alive as is.
Any insight as far as sigils/runes go?
This is a 2 part. One for spvp, one for wvw. Super new to Mesmer.
1) Do we need power with condi shatter and why?
2) For wvw, should I be shooting for condi dmg and critical chance and put on crit sigils on weps?
3) If I don’t need crit, do we need expertise?
4) What stat combo would I want to take given the above questions are answered if I want to be tanky/condi?
Thanks.
Sooo, what’s the build?
Warriors biggest issues imo are:
1) Non synergistic traits or useless traits
2) Combine Dogged March and Warrior’s Sprint already (Classes like Engi/Mesmer get it) which they shouldn’t
3) Less than zero access to protection when we should have the most access to it
4) Our weapon moves are insanely telegraphed, easiest to avoid, huge windups
5) Our utilities are trash, physical skills are garbo and serve no purpose, and, like stances, the CD is waaaaay too high for the duration
6) Discipline is a must, bottlenecks you into staying vanilla, or going berserker and full offensive, or defensive roles while most classes get the best of both worlds.
We essentially lose nothing but some damage with Berserker if we stay vanilla, most other classes can drop their vanilla builds and never look back, and, their new lines make them bigger threats at the cost of nothing.

He’s talking about pve gear not being suited for commanding and open world wvw…..
Little bit of reading comprehension can go a long way, classes have less than zero effect on someone’s ability to command.
Yikes, for commanding I totally recall my suggestion of berserker’s. It never occurred to me you’d be doing that, especially with those weapons.
The general idea for commanding gear is as tanky as possible, doing little to zero damage (i.e. full nomad’s or whatever.) If you go down or aren’t able to stand in the right place, your zerg is doomed. It’s not compatible with PvE gear.
This.
Please teach, must better cpu.
Depends on what you wanna do. I despise pve.
Honestly why I get so frustrated, we just have to give up so much. Should speak volumes.
Or replace the regen with protection or vigor. But I guess Warriors, you know, the pure offensive tank doesn’t need impairment reducing effects. I mean hell, mesmers and Engis get it, the two classes that really shouldn’t. kitten .

Merge Dogged March and Warrior’s Sprint already? KKthx
This is what I run
Havent had any trouble taking multiples at all. 1v1’s seem stupid easy
Vanilla sword board and GS is my favourite build. Fast paced and mobile. Really hard to pull off in pvp with all the cancer around, though.
It’s what I play in pvp, do just fine.
I truly feel like Berserker is only line that makes you give something up that’s vital to the class. Everyone else seems to be a whole new class. We lose to much dmg dropping Strength, and too much survivability dropping defense. Disc is just too important =(
Yeah just saw it, thank you.
I’m new to Mesmer, and just curious, why do condishatter builds take sword over scepter in most of the builds I’ve seen when scepter is the condition weapon. What am I missing? Please educate me.
I like Hoelbrak, only difference between the 2 is choosing 5% dmg over -20% condi duration I think.
Who agrees?!?!
Gunflame (Pecan)
Condi (Mint Chocolate chip)
Sure those flavors taste ok with Berserker, but, Vanilla is best!
Give us more flavors!
Great to see you back bud!
Recently just came back myself and always been a fan of gs/hammer, but lately been trying sword/sh+gs or sw/sh+hammer. But hammer sucks.
In your opinion, which of the 3 builds did you find to be the most effective? And which would work for spvp?
Thanks Hollts and keep up the great content!
You didn’t ask for any video.
Yet I got linked to one. How intriguing.
Asked for an spvp staff video/build. got d/p.
Top kek.
Im so clueless, please halp.
Title
looking for best places to get a lot of it
So, I made a variation to this build with my vanilla warrior a few years back and posted it on my youtube in sig, so you can see how it played. It was made for small man roaming, support, and small skirmishes. It was meant to help clear ally condis, sustain myself, might stack, and burn for team fights.
The weapon sets were LB+SW/WH.
So I’ve made a small variation, that’s a tad more offensive without the WH (I will include the WH build) which works quite well imo.
What this build offers:
>LB+Sword/Torch
>Insane might stacking
>Lots of condi clear
>Healing shouts
>Soldier runes for condi clear on myself and allies (the wh build takes QB for even more ally assistance and condi clears)
>Uses Last blaze to cause Burning (which is laughably strong) and you have 3 Rage skills that can trigger it.
>LB AA causes burning
>1300 condi dmg without might stacks with sw/torch
Things to note: I used Viper’s since we don’t get too many condis outside of burn/bleed with this, and so enough toughness and power with some precision to proc King of Fires regularly.
Any insight on either build or how to improve them is always welcome. I fully enjoy both and it’s something different.
Here is the pure support build that uses Warhorn. Uses cleric so gives about 2200 heals on shouts. Uses 4 shouts. Not meant to be a brawler build, just sustain and team skirmishes. You can always swap out ammy to be more offensive. Or condition based.

Lol this has got to be a joke,,, How did you get to legendary with this build??? No endure pain, your utilities are really meg; and the carrion / no toughness ?? I thought you were using sage or mercenary… ahha I guess you can call your build a Yolo build. But nj mate, def won’t try this build.
@lighter, like I said before, as the season goes on everyone will end up in legendary. This season is the worse ever.
Endure pain is useless 90% of the time kiddo, 4s immunity towards melee only on a 60s cd when you have that many stuns and interrupts is kinda pointless.
I always look at peoples armor, the dyes they were in order to judge how experienced they are. I often expect players wearing early level armor to be bad. Not always the case, but it is a good way to lower expectations so you don’t get upset when you meet newer players that just can’t handle pvp yet.
Yeah these cats were straight out of tutorial lol
I don’t really care about balance, It will always depend on player, but, I would like to stop seeing 2-3 condishatter mesmers, and 2-3 necros per game per side.
Used to strictly solo roam in WvW. Took a year break, came back very excited to play wvw. Not so much anymore, these maps are not the fond maps I remember, but large, vast, confusing, and very drawn out maps that offer nobody to fight in sight. Anet, what have you done? BL maps should be smaller, allows for more action. Leave the large maps to EOTM/EB.
All is Vain.
Thanks for all the suggestions boys
Hammer is meta if you make it meta.
This is what I run and I’ve had immense success with it, and it’s actually what I run in solo wvw roam, except I use Durability runes, and a mix of cavalier/knight/soldiers. I currently swap between altruism/water/monk runes, just messing around. I have great sustain, very tanky, and can still burst with LB+BB. I think it’s pretty similar to what Frosty runs actually.
I feel I get great condi removal between the glyphs, CA, EB etc. as well as some tools to really apply pressure when I’m focusing on someone, nothing like being able to daze/kd someone that need a clutch heal and just can’t get it before they get downed, and the added blind from the glyphs really helps with people that are applying heavy melee pressure or when I can counter blind a d/p thief, but thiefs generally aren’t an issue. I can 1v1 really easily, even against revs/necros and can stand on my feet even vs 2-3.
Mr. ViVi, what you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
I’m not sure if you just escaped a mental institution, but, I like your style.
I’ll stick to ranger…..since that’s what I’ve always played…
Emerald. And idk it’s currently 8:30 am est.
I just got hot and came back last week after a year hiatus so haven’t done this much.
Despite being able to hold home vs a rev and an ele, I get these two that lose the fight at mid, so they said kitten it, I’m just gonna sit on home node and wait for the loss wish I thought I ss’d but guess not. Tired of this BS and exactly why I hate solo que. People give up after one skirmish loss.
There are two versions of the build. One is the brawler condi warrior (with Carrion) and the other is a toxic cancer that can insta-kill most players and pvp bosses. I’m really hoping the latter gets nerfed into oblivion before others figure it out. It makes me feel dirty using it.
Which is….
Carrion? Mercs? Rabid? Viper’s? etc..
Not exactly sure what one would benefit the most from. Do we need vitality without toughness? Do we need expertise? Never played a condi warrior before
postdatbuildkkthx
I’d love to read and understand your graphs, but, alas, I do not live in the Matrix.
Made this for a friend, he loves GS, wasn’t sure whether to take staff or axe/focus.
I don’t play necro, but I know he prefers to be tanky and hates condi play, so any insight would be great.
