Yak’s Bend(TWIN) Racist against Sylvari
RRR Ranger and Warrior videos: http://www.youtube.com/user/ElmoezHerra?feature=watch
My most favorite weapon combo. Good video!
It’s a non issue, and its not an opinion its a fact. When the game was very new there may have been some niche racial uses. Like reaper of grenth on condi warrior. Thats not mentioning that was before torment and before condi power creep. Condis were considered a joke and no one used them.
Fast forward 3 years of power creeps and elite specs no one uses racial skills. They are underpowered on every single class and every single race. The only recent use of racial abilites that I have heard of was using technobabble on assuras to help break bars of raid bosses. But even that is dwarfed by the asinine amounts of CC in the game now.
Racial skills cannot be used in pvp. And its always been ANETs official position that they are weaker versions of class skills already existing in game.
So welcome to reality bro nice thread 3 years too late.
Boom.
This list. Lol.
I run something pretty similar to Burr, I usually have no problems taking on 1-2 people at a time. I used Heightened Focus for Headbutt+HB then I swap to Rifle, hit Brutal Shot, which gives me some distance, vulnerability (and some cool roll action) then Gunflame.
99% of the time, whatever it was is dead. There has been countless times where I actually use Vengeance, pop that exact combo, kill them, and get a rally. There are plenty of times when I kill someone with just HB+HB combo, then use Gunflame to take down someone else.
I swap between Marauders/Paladin’s. I have air/fire on my rifle as well, for more proc damage.

Not really that hard to kill any class 1v1 on a druid. Especially if youre efficient at keeping them at max range with LB/Staff combo, especially with Celestial Shadow, staff 3 & 4, LB stealth, KB, cripple, etc. Including pets abilities and damage.
Tons of ways to reset fights and get better positioning.
I would, but I’ve spent 99% of my time solo roaming in wvw so im only rank 40 in pvp. but dealing with multiples and knowing my class very well helps. I’m usually stuck carrying 2-3ppl per match.
I’ve played my ranger as melee regen since inception, sw/torc and axe/dagger. But I’m experimenting with staff/lb. It just feels a tad out of place. I feel a ranger should be a master kiter, making use of traps, immobs, cripples etc.
So your argument isn’t that they are better rangers, just that you think their longbow skills are better. That’s a totally different argument.
Negative. Pretty clear I think they do almost everything better when it comes to pure archery and trapping. I don’t have one, I have zero issues killing them in places like wvw, but that’s only bc I know how to play and keep them at 14-1500 range and shut down their traps. Places like spvp they are ridic.
(edited by Furajir.3815)
I have zero issues on my Druid in pvp. Can solo necros, Revs, pretty much any class 1v1 and do fairly decent in 1v2 situations. Love it.
Why?! I don’t wanna hear anything about pets either, they so fast it’s not even funny, especially in team fights. Their bow power is better and so are their traps.
Let’s look at just the basic auto attack.
Puncture Shot: Fire an arrow which can bounce to the enemies behind your target. If an arrow hits a second target, all enemies struck are crippled. 317 damage +13% damage if range is greater than 600.
Vs.
Long range shot: Shoot your foe from long range. The farther the arrow flies, the more damage it does. 336 damage if distance is greater than 1000.
DH wins.
>The other skills are self explanatory, not to mention DH’s get an amazing F1 shot that does ridiculous damage.
>They get Piercing on some of their attacks without having to specialize in a garbage trait line.
>Knockback + 6s stability every 10s when an enemy gets close. DUBYA TEE EFF
>Passive cripple ability+10% damage to crippled enemies
>Traps are better and they don’t need to spec into some garbage line no one uses.
Like, what the hell? I feel like I’m taking crazy pills. Does anyone else feel this way?
I mean Piercing arrows and projectile speed should be a ranger perk of LB, not something we have to have in a trait line. Lead the Wind should reduce recharge time of skills and has a cripple effect added for better kiting.
As it stands right now, the DH can kite better, can trap better, and can shoot better.
LOL. Reminds me of some Norn that used that snow leopard form on me the other day, he used that rush animation, got Headbutted and 100b’d and went down like a sack of potatoes.
I always felt Hammer could have a burst similar to Blaze Breaker from Torch, just a straight up ground shockwave that kd’s or stuns and doesn’t require a leap animation. Like an Earth Shatter in a wide frontal arc, like some of those HOT mobs have. Something that isn’t ridiculously telegraphed but not something instant, maybe a 1/2s castime where the hammer is raised above your head and slammed down.
I love hammer, but it needs some love.
Level 1: 1 second stun
Level 2: 2 second stun
Level 3: 3 second stun+ something like a cripple or weakness/vulnerability
Thoughts?
(edited by Furajir.3815)
None of the bursts should be telegraphed. They are way, way too easy to dodge.
I 100% disagree. The telegraphing is what makes landing them worthwhile and impressive. Make them too fast and we become like Revs. The real problem with Burst skills is that there are too many easy ways to avoid being hit by them even if you time them properly. Making Burst skills more RELIABLE but not EASIER is way healthier imo. You can do this by:
1. Swapping Leg Specialist with Restorative Strength. Almost all War weapons have a cripple and when comboed correctly makes landing Bursts like Evis and Earthshaker much easier. I would also give cripple on Mace’s Pommel Bash and Longbow’s Smoldering Arrow.
2. A Minor trait that removes blind when you use your burst (and possibly make you immune to it for the channel). My suggestion would be scrapping Thick Skin.
3. Revert some of the damage nerfs on Earthshaker and Combustive Shot. They don’t need to be as good as before, but atm Longbow is basically worthless because it is a hybrid weapon that doesn’t really do much real damage outside of Pin Down.
These changes would still make burst skills take some though and timing to land, but still be counterable by blocks and dodges.
The game needs more telegraphs and less passive defense. Lets not perpetuate the skilless gameplay we already have.
I’m going to agree, I absolutely cannot stand garbage like Rev sword 3, or semi- non telegraphed very high burst attacks, it’s what makes for spam wars and takes the skill out of it. It’s exactly what we need to get away from. I always felt Hammer could have a burst similar to Blaze Breaker, just a straight up ground shockwave that kd’s or stuns and doesn’t require a leap animation. Like an Earth Shatter in a wide arc, like some of those HOT mobs.

anyone have any fun ones?
Haent seen any, not sure were to start
I’m told there is a 500 gold limit you can take from your mail each week? How does this work? If i sell a legendary, will it only allow me to take out so much? Is there just a cap on ow much someone can take? Im confused and dont want to get banned.
Getting back to the OP: so you won’t be getting Legendary Armor. I’m not sure why anyone thought that legendary armor would be something that the majority of people could get by so-called casual play. Heck, even making the gen 1 legendary weapons require time, patience, and some level of organization on the player’s part.
But it’s attainable solo you muppet.
How else will I look the coolest and pick up pixelated women?
Like many players, I came to GW2 because it was a very casual experience that didn’t require me to spend 10 hours a day playing to compete. I did that for almost 15 years split between WOW/DAoC, I’m tired.
I took breaks because I know coming back I wouldn’t miss much. I’ve even managed to craft quite a few legendaries casually playing the game. Now here we are, I come back after a year, and learn that you’re required to raid to get the stuff necessary to make this (hopefully awesome) armor.
I have a good job, 4 daughters, a wife, and 2 dogs. I don’t have 2-8 hrs a day to dedicate to setting up, forming groups, organizing voice chat, raiding et. I’ve been a solo roamer since beta, I have hardly any friends. And the ones I do have aren’t elitists.
I feel cheated and I miss my original GW2 experience. It worked, the formula was different and very welcomed. It was a wonderful experience and is what made GW2 enjoyable and unique.
Now I’m just kittened that I’m denied access because I can’t go full neckbeard status for pve in a game I was told I wouldn’t have to raid in to get the best gear.

GS burst went from doo doo to slightly more shiny doo doo.
Remember the old gs burst at first few months of game’s release? Those were the days….
“You use your greatsword burst? NOOOOOB!”Lol I forget what it used to do. Now I use it more for the hidden damage. THe animation is fluid enough that it looks like an auto attack and more players do not dodge it like eviscerate.
Arcing slice didn’t even…Arc…it was a garbage…slow as balls downward chop. Terrible. At least now I can clear things like illusions, minions from minionmancers, etc
I guess this can go for wvw as well as pvp. Where is the incentive? Where are the actual good rewards? Where is the infamy? Where is the improvement?
I came from DAoC. I loved that game for one main reason, as you got better and climbed rank in pvp, you gained access to new skills or you were able to make pre-existing things better. You gained new titles, and skill ranks that were displayed for all to see, even the enemy.
So again, where is the incentive? Where are the good rewards?
Is there a list of ones I can solo in new hot maps? I just bought HOT a few days ago, and I’ve wandered around aimlessly awaiting someone to do trains, which never seems to happen.
I’m at a loss and already have world completion from before hot.
Any advice?
I really wish some of the regular animations had the primal animations, like Skull crack with the primal mace skill, OH EM GEE
Berserker is better purely because it contains the single “unfair” move in the Warr’s repertoire, Gun Flame. Everything about baseline Warr is too telegraphed, too slow, too clunky to use to be competitive with all the other classes’ BS.
I’ve never had an issue solo roaming in wvw, but spvp is a nightmare.
You’re joking, right? 5v5 teamfights are just a mess of AoE and crazy effects. 1v1 and 2v2 fights are much more skill based and interesting. Conquest was probably the only mode to prevent fracturing the player base (LoL actually deleted a game mode/map recently for this reason). Also, if they allowed capping when you have more people on a point it would totally screw up point defending and invalidate a large number of builds and key strategies.
PvP has issues, but none of your suggestions are even remotely helpful.
Edit: I’m really curious what class you play.
pvp is too skill based, removing some of the skill is a wonderful idea , theres a reason nobody plays this mess of a feature
YOU WUT M8?
ALL IS VAIN
Do most people use a stun break to get out the headbutt stun or do they just wait for the stun to wear off? I’m assuming simply coming out of it doesn’t activate RR?
I’ve seen some condi zerk vids, they seem to put a serious hurting on people, especially with mace.
So do most people pick Eternal Champion for the stability or Bloody Roar for the damage?
I would KILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL my family for skull crack to have the Primal Burst animation.
srs
I’m not entirely sold on Berserker. It’s impossible for me to drop either Defense and Discipline, the traits are just too good, and I still don’t feel Berserkers line is better than Strength, especially for GS users. What am I missing that makes Berserker so much better? Or is it just because it’s new and shiny?
Discipline:
>Adrenaline on wep swap
>25% run speed
>Fast hands
>Condi clear on wep swap
>HF or BM, both great traits and 15% burst recharge
Defense:
>Thick skin
>SM or DM
>Adrenal Health
>Defy pain
>RR or CI
Strength:
>Dmg on dodge
>Forceful GS 10% dmg and reduced CD (clutch)
>10% dmg when endurance not full
>Berserker’s power extra 20% dmg
I know that Head butt is amazing, and so are skills like Outrage break, but, is it really worth losing 40% damage?
Any thoughts or insight would be appreciated.
This will be for pure solo wvw roaming
mm ok so ether
Krait runes with Verdent etching(you need some condi clear) (condi bomb option)
Trooper (damage/sustain option) enough shouts to deal with reapers chill damage)or
Aristocracy ( this will scale your Might through the roof every heal as one Increasing Burst damage / dps of both you and pet)
Durability gives you the best of both worlds you could deal with most things thrown at you while roaming , maybe try Celestial shadow instead to help you gap close/ avoid more condi applications since you have perma swiftness and could have a 2xStealth options.
celestial shadow will also let you repostion fast/recover fast + stunbreak clear condis(clarity) the GFTO button , (since you have 2x stealths with this set up you won’t have Verdent etching giving away your postion ether)
I may try the aristocracy, seems pretty good. With hat I’d be up to almost 1700 condi dmg and could still wear apothecary and boost my healing back up. I’d miss out on the 20% boon dur though.
(edited by Furajir.3815)
By perma swiftness, you mean just using shouts to get around?
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
I wanna just evade and be as big of a pita as I can for some fun and refreshing 3 spam mind numbing gameplay.
This will be for pure solo wvw roaming
Still unsure of the swap from Entangle to RaO, it’s really great vs multiples and bombing someone.
Here is an updated version. Need more feedback guys if you please.
> Swapped Entangle for RaO
> Swapped to Dire armor for more toughness+condi dmg
> Still deciding between Durability runes for more toughness and regen/protection on hit or Water runes for more healing
>Can’t decide on what 3rd skill to use. I’m between glyph of tides, muddy terrain, or another shout like Guard for more dmg reduction.
> Swapped TU for Heal as Onelooks pretty perfect to me , though added a smokescale(might transferance realy+that opening attack also added a stealth option to the build nothing hits Hard like a Suprise bonfire+CC combo on ancient seeds ) or Wolf .
you could get away with smokescale+wolf due to axe being a Projecile per bounce it’ll have a 60% chance to proc per AA if its always hits 3 targets which is quite a bit of condi removal , plus having a wolf you’ll have a trigger for ancient seeds too.
Wonderful suggestions on the pets, wasn’t really factoring them right now. Did you have an opinion on runes? I was leaning more towards durability for the added tough+vit, I could have 2k heal power but doesn’t seem to help vs more bursty classes.

Just coming back to game. Any advice on how to build a LB/Staff user in pvp?
Thank you.
Just workin on life brother good to see a familiar name! I need to do some tweaking to the build, so far it’s decent, but the amount of condi cleanses people have now and the power creep is super real.
Im starting to see why most are lb/staff for the cheese.
What is expertise stat?
Yeah I used to run full cavalier/knight as gs/hammer, nothing could take me down, but the power creep is real now, and I need some extra damage to take some of these more sustain classes out.
I’m trying to put together a mace/sh+ GS or hammer build for some fun solo roaming. My question is what is the sweet spot for tough/armor/power/crit? What would be the thresholds for them.
For example, is 2300 power enough whilst having 3500 armor? Whats the lowest acceptable crit chance, etc
Thank you
(edited by Furajir.3815)
oh well, would be worth it, it’s a dope set, one of the better heavy armor sets in game imo
So basically I just need to lvl a rev to 80 to get the pieces via unlocking all the skills?
How do I get these pieces for my warr’s wardrobe? In simple terms what do I need to do and how long should it take?
Whats a good spvp build?
WvW as a solo roamer? I want to be able to take on multiples but not be super squishy.
What are good wep sets to use wilst lvling?
Thank you!
So how would I make it today if there are time-gated items?
How long should this take? how much gold will it cost? Looking to finish it asap.
Wonderful suggestion on the Heal as One, didn’t even realize it was a shout. More boon duration might also be nice, I will deff give it a try! Not to mention a much lower RUT on it vs. Troll Unguent. How much is the heal for the 6/6 Water Runes? Thank you.

Hey guys!
I’ve been gone for about a year, I used to put up Roaming Ranger vids pretty frequently, before I took them down to render them in better quality, and they had over 30k views. My original build was somewhat the first of its kind, along with Faux, the RRR build (Roaming Regen Ranger) back before it was popularized, or so I believe. I recently came back to test out the new Druid spec. I must say, I love it! Let’s face it, core ranger was pretty Garbo. Druid added some amazing utility to the line and increased survivability and group capability, although I have been a solo roamer since beta, but, druid adds a very nice aspect to the solo roaming scene. Feel free to see some old videos in sig below.
A lot of Druid builds I’ve seen have focused on Zerk and heavy dps focused, so get in and get out, this is for those that love to be in the heat of battle, and enjoy whittling your opponent(s) via attrition based combat. I prefer this over one trick ponies that are glass cannons. I will be making a video of this build within the coming week. This build focuses on the constant uptime and healing power for REGEN.
Roaming Regen Druid
Pros of build:
>Tons of regen
> 3 stun breaks
> MOAR HEALING
> High toughness
> Tons of healing power
> Decent condi dmg
Weapons: Axe/Dagger & Sword/Torch. A lot of people dislike this weapon combo, but I love it, it’s extremely fluid and offers a multitude of benefits.
Pros:
> 2 evades, one on each weapon set
> Offers chilled, crippling, might, AoE weakness (with trait), poison, bleeding, and burning, and plenty of combo fields and projectile finishes. So a lot of condis and utility.
Cons:
> Not as mobile as GS
> Lacks blocks
> Lacks HUGE hits
> Lacks KD unless using specific pet
> Lacks stuns
Trait lines:
Beast mastery: I chose this line for a few reasons.
> Shouts apply REGEN (which again is the main focus of this build)
> Faster pet swapping & increased pet damage
> Weakness on use of F2 abilities
> Honed Axes: Gain Ferocity while wielding an axe in your main hand. Winter’s bite is now an AoE skill. Axe skills recharge faster. Chill is so amazing, this is a no-brainer, especially vs. multiples.
Wilderness Survival:
> Oakheart salve, too good. Gain regen when you suffer from poison, burning, and bleeding. 5% damage reduction while you have REGEN up, which is all the time, I’ll take it!
> Protection on dodge roll
> Ambidexterity: Gain condition damage while wielding a torch or dagger. Torch and Dagger skills recharge faster. +150 condition damage and -20% reduction on both torch and dagger skills
> Bark skin: more damage reduction, coupled with regen and protection this is nice for avoiding initial bursts.
> Empathetic bond: Less conditions on you, pretty self-explanatory.
Druid:
> Druidic clarity: Removes 13 conditions from you when entering Celestial being form, pretty OP and amazing for those times when you get Condi bombed.
> Natural Stride: the run speed is really nice, and as long as you don’t have cripple, immob, chilled on you, it still works. I don’t really like too much swiftness sin builds, due to Necros turning it into cripple, but whatever.
> Ancient Seeds. Using Glyph of equality not only adds a clutch daze, but when you attack them you can stack even more bleeding and immobilize on them.
Skills:
Troll Unguent: More regen!
Protect Me: Shouts for regen and swiftness, more regen! Breaks stun
Lightning Reflexes: Breaks stun, cures Immob, makes sure Natural Stride maintains speed effect, Vigor more more dodges, more dodges = more protection.
Glyph of Equality: Dazes people, clutch, attack during daze to stack more bleeding and immobilize from Ancient Seeds. Breaks Stun
Entangle: Great Elite for multiples, more bleeding, more immobilize.
Apothecary Armor & Accessories: Tons of healing, toughness, and condition damage. I prefer this over Dire or Settler etc. because of the healing power which turns your Druid healing and regens into a healing powerhouse.
6/6 Dwayna Runes: More Healing, more Regen, Regen duration +20%, Regen when struck, regen when using a heal. MOAR REGEN.
Weapons: Dire: Just for more Condition damage. You can always go dire armor or accessories as well, but you will miss out on healing power.
Weapon Sigils: I take Doom & Geomancy. I am always close to my enemy, so the Geomancy inflicts some nice stacks of bleeds along with Axe 2. Doom is just amazing, constant poison on your foes. This is why I did not take Refined Toxins trait in Wilderness Survival line. I’m all about pressure and this offers that, constant poison and chill on your foes can turn a fight real quick.
Pets: I prefer spiders for immob & more poison, or birds for the Chill. You can stack a lot of chill with this build.
Thanks all for taking the time to read this. The build is in the link below, feel free to leave feedback! My older videos of core ranger with a similar build are in my sig =)
