I’ve always played my warrior, like, an actual warrior, condition play on a very melee oriented character, just doesn’t seem to fit the bill for me. It just doesn’t match my own personal play style. That’s just what I prefer as a solo roamer, so, I guess it depends on what you want to do.

Got a personal best today, and while I now it’s not indicative of good play, I’ve only recently come back this week and got HOT. Stole about 4 boss kills. Having an absolute blast on my Ranger. Happy Humpday!

I would LOVE if Primal echoes came base or even as a minor trait. Not only does it look kitten but it would help a lot.

The problem is the rate at which they can be applied, with ease. It caters to brainless spam. In DAoC, if you got inflicted with a status ailment, there was a small period of immunity to that specific condition for a short time period and you had to manage your cd’s and condition clearing abilities. It took skill and timing.

Conditions just allow for mind numbing gameplay. Think about what a Warrior could do if they didn’t have to worry about sustain and condition removal. You would fear them.

There are some runes/amulet combos that aren’t in pvp that would greatly help some classes, like warriors, but would be OP for others, which is a shame.

I destroy mesmers, doesn’t matter the build. One of the easier classes to beat in my opinion. /shrug

I keep them at max range and just make sure not to get shattered on. It’s pretty easy to tell, I find their rotations stupid simple to read.

I personally run Heal as One, Guard, Protect Me, Search and Rescue, and RaO in PvP on my druid. So i’m not surprised that it works, and i’m actually kinda surprised everyone seems to think the build doesn’t work…

1) makes me immune to conditions such as bleeds, poison, burning etc
2) makes me a steamroller immune to cc, cripple, chill, immob, and perma stability
3) makes all my outgoing damage have a 100% critical rate and 50% increased damage

Just been messing around with different troll builds lately. I love my shout/glyph lb/staff ranger, but this has just been hilarious to play and ridiculously troll.

This is a pure kiting build, it’s meant to be as frustrating as possible for someone to try and reach you. Not a stay in the fight and get ripped apart build. You don’t have much condi cleanse, but you do have a lot of get out of jail free cards.

Perks of the build:

> Lots of bleeds. SB AA, Crippling shot, Spike trap, double Sigils of blood, Split blade on Axe, Dagger 5, Hidden Barbs for 33% more bleed damage, Ancient Seeds and Entangle for more bleeding lolz. 20% bleed duration + Vipers duration on SB10% from Light on your Feet+ 60% from TE. I wish sharpened edges was elsewhere =(

>Lots of Cripple. So much Cripple it makes Jimmy from South Park look like an Olympic marathon runner. All traps cause Cripple, Crippling shot, Dagger 5, Wolf attack, Natural Convergence, and 20% cripple duration on axe/dagger + Vipers condi duration10% from Light on your Feet+ 60% from TE

> Immob. I have literally kept someone immobilized for the entire engagement. Spider f2, Entangle, Ancient Seeds, 10% duration from Light on your Feet+Vipers, 60% from TE.

> POIZN, poison, poison from spider, Poison Volley, Dagger 4, and you could always swap in some Doom sigils if you wanted to get rid of the bleed/cripp duration sigils, still playing around with that.

You do have access to quite a few chills and burns as well via Axe, flame trap, frost trap, and you get a fear from wolfie.

You have a chance to proc Ancient Seeds from SB 5, Spike Trap, and Wolf attack. Plenty of opportunities to do so if you’re quick enough.

Now here is the fun part of the build I enjoy. Super speed and Stealth. You get 2 seconds of Superspeed and Stealth when you use a trap Via Tapper Runes, this is your get out of jail free card, get into some deep kitten, turn the other way, drop some traps, and bounce. You also get stealth and super speed from Celestial Shadow. So tons of ways to re-position and confuse/outlast your opponent.

Let me know what you guys think, I don’t always enjoy playing meta and need a break to keep things fun and interesting, and this build has definitely delivered that. Let me know where you would make changes/improvements.

No offense, but, this is an extremely sub par or mediocre build, you have a total of like, 3 condi cleanses between shouts, that you can’t really spam, and DC. Any decent player would rip you apart.

Stopped watching at the scrapper/Daredevil fight, that should have been tough to handle with just scrapper alone, that pretty much gave a window into the caliber of player you were facing.

I mean adrenal health/CI could be reworked, or every time we gain a bar of adrenaline we lose 1-2 conditions, that + weapon swapping every 5s, CI etc. I’m not even sure what they could do at this point.

I run something really similar to first build, what sigils do you like to use?

I like them, we have great offensive capabilities, the sustain is what we lack, I thought it would be cool to give healing signet passive pulsing resistance, like a chance to shrug off condis.

Rev, Scrapper, Tempest, Condi Mesmer, and Reaper.

I main druid, and there is pretty much no reason to bring a druid when SoR is easily counterable by decent players and a Scrapper can bunk a point infinitely better and actually offer damage.

Rev is a better thief and warrior combined, why bring either class.

Guardian is eh, passable but a boatload of reflects/magnetic auras and easily couterable mechanics make it underperform.

Vermillon’s ranger is really helping decide the match so I dunno if you are correct.

Yeah I’m sorry, didn’t read the title. This is what I use and it’s pretty hilarious. You can swap the ammy to Mercenary for more toughness, but I find the confusion stacks are helped tremendously by Vipers condi duration. I use mace/sh and Hammer.

Between mace/shield skills, hammer and physical utility skills (feel free to take 2 if youre feeling froggy) you’ll have 7-8 potential interrupts. I’ve hit 20 stacks in a matter of seconds. The best thing is, nobody usually realizes or expects it and they just insta die. Toss in rampage for extra Lolz. Can also swap Brawlers to DOTE for all the revs/guards/engis/eles etc. Since the name of the game is boon city, there’s a lot of extra damage potential.

The staff is a fantastic weapon, but it doesn’t really do anything. It sort of does damage and it sort of heals and it sort of protects your allies.

I guess CA is basically part of staff, so that evens things out enough that I can’t complain. CA does stuff.

Condi is a pretty decent one, but gimmicky, especially with confusion stacking. There are a few alternatives, but I got too frustrated with pvp to play my warrior any further.

Gunflame is probably your best best.

I currently love the LB/Staff combination. Adds a very different way to play the class. However, I think it’s a bit underwhelming. I realize it’s meant to be a support/healing weapon, but the effects seem meh for the most part. What do you guys think?

1. I like the Auto attack, even though it sounds like a submarine Doppler radar. Maybe make it unblockable or up the damage/healing a bit, maybe add a blind effect to the 3rd pulse.

2. The wisp is both slow and underwhelming. It would be great if it was like Guard Scepter 3 where it immobilized and healed.

3. I love the skill, not sure what I would change if anything, maybe add some protection at the end as well as the heal for 3 seconds.

4. I have mixed feelings about this. I like the range, I like the condi cleanse, I’m not a fan of it being in a straight line, maybe a frontal arc or aoe effect. The immobilize is too short in my opinion.

5. This skill is sub par for a 5 skill. It lasts only 5s for a 25s CD timer, unless you take the staff trait over Druidic Clarity (LOL). I wish Primal Echoes was part of the minor adept trait. Anywho, I feel it should straight up block projectiles, not make them pass through and heal, or, make the field larger and decrease the cd or increase the duration, maybe have it grant regen or healing while standing inside the wall.

Thoughts?

When I played a Hunter in DAoC, the RR5 ability was called Entwining Snakes. Insta-cast spell that is PBAE 50% snare lasting 20 seconds with a 350 unit radius. Snare breaks on attack.

Basically would be pretty cool to get an aoe/pbaoe root that gives like 10 seconds of super speed. Would serve as an excellent, CC/get out of jail free card while also allowing us to reposition, heal etc.

Paladin’s is default, I use mender’s when the enemy condi users are 4 or 5 (VERY common), and marauder’s or even berserker’s if I’m against something like 2 druids and a tempest.

Adjusting for my own comp as well, of course.

If you get confused trying to figure out the difference between a water and land weapon, you need to be playing Hello Kitty Island Adventure. Plus they could always rename it lance, halberd, polearm etc

This guy uses it very well. Then again he’s berserker and very squishy, I run a cav/knight/soldier mix so I just take daze glyph/LR/ and guard or protect me, since I have quickness every 15s on pet swaps I don’t use zephyr. I’ve simply never needs it for kiting, although id consider it if the cast time wasn’t so absurd.

Next class will be the Berserker. He will do everything that warrior and revenant do but better. He will be immune to CC and conditions, and kill everything in 1 hit. Watch.

I love Warrior. I want to see this class flourish. I think the design is great but there are a few things I am unhappy with. First off, when I think of Warriors, I think of an unstoppable machine on the battlefield. A force to be reckoned with. Like oh kitten, warrior incoming. Nobody thinks that right now. They see a warrior and they think “Oh look, free kill” compared to most other classes that offer up better fights. Most classes can bring both burst and sustain to a fight, albeit maybe thieves, but even for them, with Daredevil, and some of their skills, they can bounce when it gets hairy. We are one trick ponies and have been since beta days. Instead of Bullcharge+Frenzy+HB, we now have Gunflame, it’s the same thing over and over, trading one bursty gimmick for another. I won’t touch on condi warriors because to me it’s just a weird way to play warrior.

Skills:
>Physical skills are pure doodoo, let’s be real, BC can be used for fun but it takes up a very much needed slot. I used to enjoy Bolas with GS, still do from time to time, but too unreliable.

>Banners only work with pve and a Tactics line build. They bring nothing to pvp. These could be changed so they are like how attunements are or if they followed you around somehow.

>Rage skills work really well for most part, I wish outrage could be used with my vanilla build.

>Stances: I’m not really sure what to do with these, the durations are far too short for the cd’s.

>Signets: These are ok, mostly for pve, I guess some have their place with Gunflame, like SoM

Healing skills: The only thing I may add here is HEaling Signet change, make the secondary, the resistance pulse tick for 6 seconds every 10-12 seconds, just so we aren’t slaughtered by condis so easily. Between that and BS it would be pretty awesome for not getting condi bombed.

Traits:
I honestly have no idea what to do with any of these. I am not a creative person. But it seems like we are pigeonholed into either Offensive or Defensive via Defense Vs. Strength line where as everyone else seems to be able to maintain both without giving up much.

It’s not like you can really drop Discipline either, the traits are just too needed.

So we are stuck. With at least Berserker (headbutt/outrage) too good, and Discipline.

If you pick Defense:
You gain extra toughness, Shield Master or dogged march, Adrenal health which coupled with healing signet helps too much, Defy pain, Retaliation, and either rmore condi clearing from CI, more toughness from RR, or more stability from LS.

If you pick Strength:
Damage on dodge roll, some pretty crappy first tier selections, building momentum, wee another dodge, Forceful GS, which is 10% more dmg and a big reduction on skills that save us a lot and hit hard as hell, aka rush and whirlwind, another 10% dmg when endo isn’t full, and Berserk’s power, another 20% increase in damage.

You could always pick both Strength and Defense to match up with berserker, but missing those key skills in disc really hurts us.

In all it seems most other classes didn’t have to give up much of anything for their new Mastery lines, where as I feel stuck between either being very offense, or defensive, and I cant find a synergistic pattern or build for both in spvp, wvw is another story where food, gear and more run/sigil options come into play.

I feel in wvw warrior can really shine, but I’d love to play spvp without being slaughtered on the reg.

I think the best way to describe it would be, everyone has burst, but they also have sustain. Albeit maybe thief, but even they can just gtfo out of a fight if it goes south. Warrior has the burst, no problem there, they lack the sustain.

I feel like healing signet should have pulsing resistance, or something. If we just had a way to manage being locked down easier I would love that.

I know i saw a video awhile back of some insane burn build that was doing 25-35 tics in a raid

I don’t know if the OP is just a kitten starter, woke up on the wrong side of the bed, trolling, or playing a totally different class. I don’t want to say it is a L2P issue, but really.

There really is no way to say any one class is better than the other, it is just a matter of opinion. Personally, I don’t see the DH has being any better than my Ranger/Druid. I have both, play both regularly, and found myself on my Ranger pre HoT more and post HoT is Druid.

Simply put. If I’m in a DPS mood in WvW I’ll hop on the DH. However, when I’m in the built for comfort mood, which is 99% of my play style, then I’ll hop on my Druid. Druid, in my opinion, is in another league when it comes to survival in WvW. The primary meta I play.

Doesn’t mean DH’s are not good. Just a personal choice. Note how I didn’t say sPvP or PvE. PvE it doesn’t matter. Roll glass, kill stuff, stuff dies, no big deal. SPvP, player skill ends up winning outside the broken classes we all know about. Some classes just have a harder time and at the end of the day, unless you are playing with the same team, a lot of if comes down to just dumb luck…

You need to learn to read. I stated that in wvw i can ill anything on druid, I can stay at 1k+ range all day. Spvp is what im referring to.

Please nerf Gunflame damage…it’s getting pretty ridiculous now…I think wars need to be reworked and improved…but giving them a spammable skill with a very short CD that just one-shots everyone is just…just plain silly and feels like a cheap, lazy way to ‘improve’ wars.

That’s my biggest issue. It seems that’s what Warriors are meant to do, which I hate, rely on gimmicky, 1 trick pony burst skills. When I picture warrior, I picture a steamroller of the battlefield, a terrifying threat. This class is laughed at. We are so easy to lock down it’s not even funny.

Things like dogged march should be like passive, we should slough off critical damage, or have an easier time with conditions or a passive resistance that ticks with our health signet.

We need something and we need it now.

Love the polearm idea, I played an armsman in DAoC for years. They could do some cool animations with it.

I’d love to see a Variant to GS and Hammer combo, but a Great Axe. What weapons or combination of weapons would you guys like to see?

1. Auto could do something similar to GS in a wider arc, causing vulnerability, cleave etc, 3rd attack in auto could do a small aoe shockwave
2. Perhaps a combination of what HB and Fierce blow offer, or perhaps just 1-2 fast giant slices that could do similar damage to what HB offers but is a 2 part skill.
3. I’d love to see something like what Engineer hammer 3 offers. That triple dash forward swinging your axe in a wider arc into a daze offering evade etc, a different approach to what Whirlwind offers but a great way to approach an enemy while simultaneously evading.
4. A shockwave that cripples or knocks down, or perhaps something like pommel bash with a daze similar to Rangers GS.
5. I’d love to see something like Rush but faster, like Charging Bull, when you charge into your foe knocking them down and then a huge downward cleaving motion.

The burst im not too sure of, maybe something like Earthshaker that is just a large frontal AOE tremor cone, similar t what HOT mobs have without a leap animation.
