+1 to removing 40% condition food (both +/-). Also i would think about reverting vulnerability affecting condi damage.
As a power build user i would love this but lets be honest it’s just a silly idea, the duration is not the issue, the damage is not the issue and the removal is notthe issue. It’s the continual application and reaplication of conditions and the with which iti s done that is the problem.
1- You can dodge any channeled high damage ability from a power build, you cannot dodge most abilities that apply conditions.
2- Conditions are reapplied very very quickly and easily in comparison to the equivelant channeled high damage abilities which as stated above are easily dodged/evaded.
3- Most power builds have to be very glassy to to make the damage worth it Vs a full Dire/Rabid condi build that has no element of risk in it’s stats.
Bottom line is condi is considerably harder to dodge/evade, condi bursts hits as hard or harder, the ease and frequency at which condis are applied and the tankyness of these builds.
90% of power roamers have to use full zerker so why are condi specs given an advantage before the fight starts with Rabid/Dire combos when they can burst/tick as hard as we can burst/dps.
It’s called crappy balance and it needs to be fixed by having PvE, PvP and WvW damage numbers seperated from each other, PvP is the closest thing to solving this with the amulet system but it just would work, cooldowns of condi skills need to be adjusted in WvW independantly of PvE with Dire armour being removed completly (and the owner of the dire armour being given the option to change the stats of his dire armour or delete it) and the tanky stats of other condition armour brought more in line with zerker and knights stats.
It’s all well and good saying Melandru/Lemon grass reduces condi duration but when the condi ticks for 8k a sec that means nothing especially when the condis are applied again very shortly after that in comparison to a power builds burst cooldowns. The only two classes who are unaffected by the condi meta are Thieves and Elementalists using diamond skin butthat’s ok Ele is the only thing Anet care about and we all know it’s perfectly balanced.
Condi damage does not need to be nerfed, we don’t need more condi removal we just need longer cooldowns on abilities that apply conditions or a global cooldown for cany one condition to be applied again, don’t be stupid and cry for a full condi nerf as it’s not needed.

Don’t believe a single word, you’ve burned us too many times for us to treat what you just said without EXTREME suspicion.
I’ll delete all my characters if you can deliver on all of this within a year and by deliver i don’t mean a complete fix as that’s just impossible but i will delete them if you can deal with most ofthe issues and sort out the population diffrences.
I won’t be baited into buying HoTs as i can still play WvW without it, i just won’t have the specializations (meh anyway), If needed i can buy HoTs for 10 pounds from G2A or something coz you sure as hell don’t deserve 35 pounds.

The lag exists for the pure and simple reason Anet/NCsoft will not put thier hands in thier pockets and update thier servers to much more powerfull/current hardware.
I doubt they even have each border on a seperate physical dedibox (which even i can afford so don’t bull us and say it’s expanensive), i also doubt the server client even uses the resources available on the physical server properly and i’d wager the servers they use run on Windows which as a game server client OS is shockingly bad, ask any FPS gamer what your dedi box should run and they’l ltell you linux everytime.
Gonna have to agree and say Warrior is in a pretty bad place alongside Necros. Only time I see Warriors and Necros is when they are in a blob unfortunetly.
Sad part is with my warrior being in a bad place i can still deck most roaming necros and honestly i feel sorry for those who choose to main it, only viable dueling build now is Rifle/Greatsword just slightly above Hammer/Greatdsword but the Rifle/Greatsword requires some very clever usage of traits.
Basically warrior is out of the running for dueling imho.
D/D ele and Medi guard are top of the food chain with Mesmer being the ele’s only real natural predator and the medi guard being the mesmers natural predator. most other classes including thief are weaker than these 3 but anyone with a deep understanding ofthier class can make it work.
Basically we just have to live with being bottom of the food chain until HoTs comes along and the new maps come out which will be solo/group roamer friendly maps and the issue of balance comes to the top of list as a result fo this style of play required to fully utilise the maps over the mindless mother blob mentality which won’t work on the new map.
Gonna have to strongly disagree with the first two posts, it takes alot of skill to play a D/D as you effectively have 4 weapon sets, now i don’t play ele much myself but it certainly isn’t an “apply face to keyboard” proffesion.
Killing a bad D/D ele who’s mashing his keyboard is very easy an ele who knows his class on the other hand is extremely difficult to kill to the point of it being madening, learn to play other classes and you’ll soon learn a mesmer can squash most bad/avg ele’s.
Understand how they open up in a fight, CC them or poison them and you’ve won half the battle, get angry and just hit them over and over and you’re just asking to get beat. You have to know when it’s time to go ham or back off and let the fight reset.
I can understand why it’s frustrating especially when you both get to 10%-15% HP and he atunes to water and it’s game over but you have to hold onto your skills for the right time, DO NOT mindlessly spam your skills Vs an ele as an ele can do it better than you.

Someone sounds a little paranoid me thinks.
I hope you mean “Ruines” and not “Runes” but could be a good idea or just remove it all together.
Roaming groups of 3-5 will have alot more power than in the current border land maps, solo roamers may struggle but no doubt they’ll find thier footing eventually.
Piken Square will be having it’s own raid when the stress test hits, the map is designed to break up blobs so that’s exactly what we’ll do, play the map as it’s intended to be played and see how this palystyle fares against the two other blobbing servers who can only follow the blue dorito.
The streamers from the last session had no idea what they were doing in comparison to experienced WvW comms (no offense but you’re entertainers, not hardcore WvWr’s).
We’re really looking forward to how a large blob and two groups fare against each other on this map and we invite any other server/groups to do the same to test Anets design philosophy on this map.
Look forward to giving you yanks a kitten good thrashing on the battlefield.

The main problem i see with thieves is that they have too much options for resetting a fight. It’s to rewarding to fight with blinds, shadow step and perma stealth.
That should have been reworked a long time ago.Another problem which isn’t that big but still annoying is the option to gain stealth by hitting walls and that makes thief hunting inside towers or keeps pretty boring.
PU Mesmers are stupidly op for 1v1 atm, especially with perplexity runes.
Well according to all mesmers on the forum they are just fine. Slighty underpowered if you ask them :P
Ofcourse the mesmer mains will down play, several mesmers i know just laugh in TS at how broken thier class is now, 40+ seconds of stealth and they can jsut walk up to and completely blow you up, if don/t know/see them coming as they can stealth long before you see them you would usually not be casting a skill etc, I can’t see him and BANG i’m dead and this is just a power build with no perp runes.
My war has 23k HP and 3k Tougness all he has to do is a full shatter (inc the shatter on himself) and GS skill rotation and i’m dead. Why did this PU get a buff when it only affects WvW when we all know Anet does’nt balance for WvW. What possible application does it have in PvE considering very few people play it in PvE.
Not to mention the PU condi builds are even worse coz of the easy clone generation and MASSIVE condi pressure, even if you do hit them they take almost no damage coz of rediculous protection uptime.
My advice is go into WvW during primetime and ask around for the community guild, most have one like my server Piken Square has Stomp for Piken [PS] which is aimed at Piken diehards and new players alike.
I’m sure your server has a similar guild and will mostl ikely provide you with the communities Teamspeak VOIP details so you can get to know the guys you’re with.
As for people screaming insults at you just ignore them, they probably suck and get continually owned which is whythey are in a bad mood.

Submit a ticket with screenshots, videos, time, date, location and character you were on and enemy name if possible, if they are 5 minutes apart treat them as seperate incidents and report them all individually.
Eventually they will ban the guy if you submit enough tickets with proof from various people udring the same incident, It does work as my server mass reported a cheater with evidence and now he is perma banned.
DO NOT post this kind of stuff on the forums as it usually ends up with you recieving some form of punishment/warning. do it via the proper channels with other witnesses and all the details you can think and it will work, it takes a month of solid reportingbut trust me they will get him.
20+ stacks of Burn from a ranger ticking for almost 8k, cleared half of them and that’s down to 4k tick aaaaand oh look he reaplied it bring me back up 15+ with 6k tick and i cleared i……………..oh waitthat’s right i was dead by then coz you can;t carry that much condi cleanse and be viable vs other builds like CC based power builds.
Seriously Anet do something about conditions, if iwant to clear Burning then it should remove the entire stack.
My condi guardian can hit you for 8k burn tick on first attack then i can keep 2/3k on you at all times while still being tanky as balls, my problem is not the damage of conditions but the continual reaplication of the conditions after all condi cleanse is gone, you litterally have to stand there and just wait to die coz guess what condi builds are also more tanky than most power builds so they just laugh at you while you desperatly try to kill them before you die.

TIf there was a queue system for WvW that would have probably been 7 minutes for the entire night
Queues are up to 2 hours on reset night with queues reaching 100 people or more, other border can be 20+ with a 30 minute queue so yeah we queue long enough already.
This new system will atleast go a long way to help the population disparity, the owrst example being SFR, they can blob on most border for 16 hours a day and you have zero chance of beating them, not because htey are good becuase they are terrible and thier blobs are easily killed by smaller numbers.
As a WvW’r (Not a PvE Mike O’Brien) this amazing and the lower tiers should get more people come to them as the transfer fee will discourage people from moving/bandwagoning up to SFR/Deso/Piken, You’ll see people transfer with thier heads and not thier kitten s.
Only taken Anet 2 years to do this but better late than never I guess, Can’t wait to see SFR drop in rankings when they go up against server with the same population/coverage but with better players and commanders.
The initial population shift is gonna be awesome if extremely upsetting to the current population, god i hope this creates a more evenly spread community, we all know SFR has 2/3 times more than everyone and that population has to queue for hours to get onto any border on or around primetime.
I also hope they give people the option to not represent a server if they are solely PvE as choosing a server to PvE in is utterly redundant with the mega servers, this would free up spots to those who want to WvW only or WvW mostly, this would give each server a much better idea of the number of “Active” wvw players they have.

EDIT: I would also love to see a mass server rep reset when this system becomes active, on activation day when you login you are given a choice to stay with your current server or transfer to any other server for half price in the tier below yours. PvE players who log in will be able to for example rep a server as a PvE’r, maybe keep PvE rep population seperate from WvW population but you can’t rep piken in pve and deso in wvw for example, only the same server in both.

Yea it was crap and most ofthe WvW regulars have just stopped playing.
If your aim was alienate everyone in WvW and replace them with docile and submissive pve players to stroke your ego Anet then mission accomplished.
It’s simply about the satisfaction of beating the other guy in front of you. there’s no physical reward as such, just a mental reward.
I don’t have to buy HoT to play WvW when it comes out, not intrested in the revenant so that’s 35 pound i just saved and i was thinking of buying it but this event has made me realise Anet do not deserve money from me, as a harcore wvw’r the complete lack of interaction with the community and the total and utter lack of respect of said community is quite frankly bloody disgusting.
How about an event where you actually pay attention to the WvW community and help us help you to make this game mode better/fixed.

There is no future for WvW.
Give it 6 months after the expansion comes out and i predict 1 of 2 things.
1- The new map is populated mostly by EOTM K-Train farmers and Anet loves that, leaving us WvW with nothing to do other than join the K-Train or solo roam/duel or troll K-Trains.
2-WvW decends into a cespool of hate toward Anet and they shut it down altogether.

If this was just a weekend event yeah ok that wou;d be cool but all week is total kitten .
Every time me and my guildies play in our arena for duels our warriors seem to have this horrible targeting bug that randomly changes our target for no apparent reason, Auto Targeting is disable aswell Promite Skill Target etc etc.
Please fix this as we’re changing target constantly and it’s driving us warriors up the kitten wall.

Honestly i don’t think you have a clue what you’re doing as a melee, you have lots of gap closers, damage mitigation and most importantly CC.

I highly recommend you go to that site and check the roaming/zerg builds for warrior and the difference between them.
Ranged weapons on a warrior outside of Ham/Bow in PvP are near useless unless you are solo roaming vs a very secific enemy. I main Warrior as a roamer and have no problem with ranged enemies.
If you are looking to survive then irecommend you switch to Guardian as it can sit in a blob for so long and tag all the things.

Because that’s usually the cause. If it’s multiple people experiencing the same issue at the same time, on the same maps, it actually still could be something with the internet and not the servers themselves. Either way it could resolve on it’s own soon or anet could already be seeing if they have an issue. But if it was a temporary issue I wouldn’t pay $100… I wouldn’t pay $1. Ongoing now perhaps, which one would assume is what the op meant… If not, just wait it out.

EDIT: root my entire serveri s experiencing the LAG in EU, 60+ people in 1 TS channel can’t all be wrong.
Good because by removing this and hopefully the stacking sigils you create a more level playing field, this in turn creates a much more healthy competetive enviroment.
Running around killing NPC’s to be more powerful than someone on a fully capped border without access to the guard stacks is unfair, stacking sigils have the same problem especially in condition builds where condi damage can reach 2.2k in some cases and sometimes more.
Each class has more than enough stats in it’s kit to not warrant guard stacks and stacking sigils. next i hope they get rid of food in WvW and leave only the most basic of stones, oils and crystals.
Rangers are an old/out of date and redundant class/proffesion type.
Just delete it and be done with it for goodness sake.
I have at least a toon of every class up to 80, and albeit Rangers aren’t my favourites I must say that I saw some videos from Night Shift and Agression and both teams have been using Rangers for a while in a sort of anti-ranged party role (focused on hunting down necros, eles, etc.) with great success.
- Going further, since the stability changes, I would even say that I’m finding the heavy train (classes which I main) less and less productive in the WvW raids.*
las time i got spiked by a few gank rangers in a midle of a fight i didnt even had time to react, i almost didnt even noticed downed state… it was to fast , all they need is time warp and auto atack to insta melt targets. i dont mind their damage they are squishy but its more like a cooldown problem it was fine before they reduced it the LB skill, its to easy to pull damage out of the box that target isnt even a threat if he do not have a gap closer, if one can do a ton of damage atacks must be slower, funny how sometimes for classes that cant block and rolls were used already is almost a certain death.
The heavy classes are far less productive becouse stability was to powerfull to, now its almost situational used, unless on a 1 vs 1 fight, the heavy train needed to change and the called pirate meta its just a temporary solution.
Pretty much what i’ve bee saying, it’s not the rapid fire damage that i find to be the problem but the frequency in which it can be used with knock back in conjunction with that signet stone and some rune that the invlun for roughly 10 ten seconds, if you’re an extremely long ranged class with strong disengage and CC you have not right to being invulnarable, if you messed up your huge kiting kit then you deserve to be blown up, there should no safety net, same for most classes infact.

I’ve been solo roaming on T1 for half a year now, and two things have finally started to dawn on me.
1. A solo glass roamers life is a living hell.
2. Zergs, and condition builds are the majority of encounters that you’ll find
It’s the same in High/Low T2 aswell, blob mentality and condition roamers everywhere. Only reason i can see why you would move from a kitten lower is because of queue times, quality of opponent does not vary, builds do not vary and even blobs do not vary. the only thing that varies is queue times.
Being in T1 queues must be hell.

if you’re from the EU server i’d suggest Piken Square, we can fill up all maps at primetime but you won’t see queues bigger than 10 except for Eternal Battlegrounds which can peak at 30.
Ask in map chat to join Stomp for Piken [PS] the community guild for piken and i’m sure you’ll find a new home shortly after. Our comms are lunatics, we never run from a fight and the community is awesome. We also use teamspeak and a forum at piken.eu
It should be open to everyone, just like wvw is now. Test it under the actual conditions it will face when live. Isn’t the point of a stress test to push it to it’s breaking point so you know your limitations?
It’s at breaking point most of the time, in servers community ts i’m continually hearing about lag, ifthey performed any kind of stress test i’m fairly certain their entire server box would blow up.
NC Soft need to put more money back into Gw2 and stop being so kitten tight.
WvW servers should not be connected to PvE server selection in any way. i see no reason for PvE to even have a server selection when megaservers etc have made it redundant.
WvW servers are not connected to PvE. So it isn’t a problem. PvE does not have a server selection screen, so I have no idea what you mean with that statement. Although it is a fact that some players PvE, PvP, and WvW, others stick to one. Still others play two out of the three. Some will eventually try some of the others.
WvW is the only place where you really need to pick a server to represent and then put it’s own cap on that to create a much more even spread of players amongst the WvW servers, and before the PvE guys complain about not being to get WvW rewards they can do a soft represent or “support X server” without actually being an active WvW player, by this i mean instead of represent in WvW on the field they can support the server they like and transfering support should cost half the amount it costs to physically transfer WvW server you fight for.
Okay, and what about players who regularly play both? As far as I can tell, your making irrational assumptions by working under the context that every player that steps foot in PvE or WvW sticks exclusively to that game mode only. That is not a informed way to view this, in my opinion.
There i just fixed WvW population and queues.

If by “fixed”, you mean you made many assumptions, and prejudgments of players, by implying they stick exclusively to one game mode only, when there is absolutely no evidence of that, then sure. None of that solves any problems in any way what so ever.
Point 1 – you misread or misunderstood what i meant, i meantt hat when you start playing the game for the first time then selecting a server other than your region shouldn’t be an option and with mega servers is redundant in PvE.
WvW server selection would be made available when you first open the WvW panel with a list of servers that have a population indicator with a warning next to ones marked “high” such as “joining this server to represent in WvW may result in long queue times, please consider choosing a lower population server” and then an eventual cap and a sizable cap at that because alot of people will want to play WvW etc.
I know some people do one or the other and both, i’m one of them but this method would reduce the problem of tier one server only being teir 1 because of population and nothing more.
Point 2 – Don’t see how your point is valid to be honest because i’m not and have not said you play one or the other, the system i propose would have a cap for each servers active WvW population 9Which would have to be large obviously) to encourage spread people across all servers.
Point 3 – This isn’t a set of prejudgments or assumptions it’s simply fact that if you cap all the WvW servers at a certain number then a more even spread of active WvW players would be achieved, i have no idea wtf you’re actually getting unless you misread or misunderstood my proposal which i can only assume you did as this is a sensible option, but then again you’ll probably just report me for disagreeing with you.
God forbid someone actually comes up with a simple idea that could help the huge difference not in skill but population between t1 and t3 servers. You’re simply trying to invalidate my point without adding an option to fix the issue yourself. Hi guys i’m trying to relearn everything PvP/WvW and i can’t seem to digest guides properly when they are written.
Can anybody link me some videos to indepth guides for each class and by guides i don’t mean “use this build and win”, i’m on about how to combo correctly, help with positioning and when and when not to engage etc etc. All these build videos mean nothing with any underpinning knowledge which i lack so i am unable to use them to their full potential.

WvW is the only place where you really need to pick a server to represent and then put it’s own cap on that to create a much more even spread of players amongst the WvW servers, and before the PvE guys complain about not being to get WvW rewards they can do a soft represent or “support X server” without actually being an active WvW player, by this i mean instead of represent in WvW on the field they can support the server they like and transfering support should cost half the amount it costs to physically transfer WvW server you fight for.
There i just fixed WvW population and queues.
Shame Anet didn’t think of this a few years ago.
1- No reason to strip him naked (the act of a child).
2- No reason to make the char jump to it’s death (the act of the same child who thinks he’s cool).
3- No reason to show us the character being deleted.
The fact he said “oh yeah and we banned him” seemed like an after tought that was never his original intention.
Good job on making yourself seem like a childish human being when you should be acting like an adult without even a word of him being banned, the fact he has gone is enough, we don’t need to know what you did.
This just proves my point that Anet really have no respect for it’s player base in it’s behaviour towards the good and the bad.

It really does annoy how nearly every developer with the exception of Anet communicateswith thier community on features, updates and fixes on a daily basis. Why does Anet not adoptthis policy ?.

Only thing they can do to figure out the issue is have you put in a support ticket along with everyone else to narrow down the issue, as a response they will ask you to use the game advisor and reply to their e-mail with the file it gives you, this file will have details on your packet loss, RTT etc. Once they see that there’s an issue with packet loss they will ask you to use pingplotter for a duration of 30 minutes whilst you play World vs World (specifically during times of high latency/lag etc) to determine which servers are giving the most problems across all players who have reported it.
Might seem like a redundant or unnecessary step to fixing it to you, but to them this is the only way to narrow it down to a specific hop’d server.
And they will blame our internet provider like they have at every other time we all experience a server wide lag spike a couple of times a year, bearing in mind we all live in different countries and get routed through different exchanges etc etc.
My entire server is comp,aining about this and duringguild raids i have to log off ten minutes in coz people won’t shut up about the lag.
I don’t expect them to fix it in the traditional “WE FIXED IT GUYS, ENJOY THE GAME” but a “we fixed but lets make them think it was thier ISP all the time by not telling them we fixed a critical error on our end coz we screwed it up first tiem around”.
Seem familiar ?.
