What events were you participating that causes the connection lag to appear? Does it happen while venturing around maps?
I think some kind of miracle happened. Tonight at Tequatl, I was getting no massive latency, and was able to participate with attacking Tequatl and the tendrils directly with just a mere 300ms.
Hope that lasts for long.
Add: If you’re wondering, I’m playing from Qatar… at least for the next two months. It’s been 24 hours now and there is no more connection degradation or lost/queued data packets. Much thanks!

It’s been like that for 2 years. Refund seems impossible.
Money is also deducted when trying to waypoint in the midst of losing connection from the server. The loading screen image flips back and forth.
Here’s what I have observed today at Temple of Lyssa’s defend event:
A necromancer was afking by the temple merchant, leaving his minions to attack the Risen. Couple minutes of that plus the surrounding NPC allies, the Risen morale was at 50% before the afker woke up to finish the rest of the Risen.
There was only me and the afker. Neither of us were attacking, yet it takes just the necro’s minions to fend off the Risen. As you can see it just takes one afker to deny anyone from getting the trait on the defend event.
This is why Temple of Lyssa has a terrible defend event and needs to be reworked. In any other temples, if you afk, you just get overwhelm by the Risen attacks.

Unfixable.
Instead, see How to Reach T6 Sapling Under That Wreckage.
Make it stop!
After the new patch went online, prices under Current Sellers are suddenly sorted the wrong way after I put in my own price. This never happened prior to the patch, and it is causing confusion on showing what current sellers offer the best price.
I went to WvW from Malchor’s Leap, and then went to Lion’s Arch to access the crafting stations, where I access the bank to resort several items. All of a sudden I abruptly got disconnected from the map.
Upon reconnect from Character Selection screen, I was placed back to Malchor’s Leap. When I accessed my bank again in Lion’s Arch, all of the items I have already sorted had “undid” itself.
Has this happened to anyone?
That it is. Thanks for the clear up.
It seems I have clicked through the Buy button so much it double-clicked whatever was behind the button. There is an empty slot in my inventory where the Buy button was, but I don’t even remember if there was anything in that slot. I don’t spend much time in The Silverwastes so.
And what bag opens that item? I was clicking Buy nonstop.

Server/Map: Blackgate, Straits of Devastation (64.25.38.205)
Issue: Constant connection pauses from this specific map. We went from escorting south Pact to Rally point to taking Temple of Balthazar. Constant pause and freezes along the way and luckily ended up with a silver event contribution.
Another player in my party was having the same problem in this same instance. Other maps in the game do not have this lag issue. *.38.205 really needs to be looked at.
I don’t know if this is supposed to happen. After spam-buying Experimental Rifles from Agent Livilla over 50 times, a Luminescent Gloves achievement popped up along with the acquired Mordrem Troll Fang.
The acquired item is shown in my log. Either this is a bug, or the item (as the name applies) got snuck in as the NPC’s way of trolling.
Nah, it doesn’t say anything like “Guild Wars 2” in Chinese.
- "Additionally, if you are doing the Frozen Maw chain for Shiverpeak events, the Champion Shaman at the end also works for this achievement. "
It doesn’t. Ended up with “Daily Champion Slayer: 0%” after I killed the Svanir Shaman. Either the recent updates changed that or it is somehow bugged.
Compared to the rest of the temples’ defend events, the Risen mobs taking back Temple of Lyssa is pretty weak. You have other champions taking back the temples and lethal Risen mobs that take back Temple of Balthazar, but the small amount of Risen taking back Temple of Lyssa is very disappointing.
Defending Temple of Lyssa is too easy it only takes one person to kill the incoming Risen and have no regards for the chest rewards the assault events provide. Providing a trait reward for defending Temple of Lyssa is stupid as well, and goes against the large groups that wanted the temple to be contested so they can assault it for the chest rewards.
I suggest increasing incoming Risen mobs and increase the amount of Risen morale gauge in the event UI to be inline with the difficulty of other temple defend events.
This probably explains why Blackgate’s Caledon Forest was literally disconnecting everyone off the map on some game builds before ANet introduced Megaservers back in April. The map instance was probably on that *.161 IP address and could not take it when the blob throws all kinds of hits and magic on that Great Jungle Wurm.
That *.161 server still lurks around.
(edited by Geekfox.4267)
It’s data latency, which is coming from ANet’s server side by holding up or “queuing” all the data against your game client if the server cannot provide you enough downstream speed. When this happens, your game client starts to slow down in time, and falls further back from the real-time event instance. The server can hold your game client back for about 2 minutes of latency before you get disconnected.
The only way your game client catch back up to real-time instance is when there’s less or no action on the screen, or by reconnecting. Participating in massive world events, this can be problematic. The only reliable solution I’ve been using is to run away from the event area (where you can no longer see the zerg) and stay far away until real-time instance catches up to your client. Make sure you keep attacking and heal up in case any stray enemies start to appear out of nowhere. Once your skills are responsive again, return to the event area.
Many players are currently affected by this latency issue coming from the server side, despite that their connection latency to the server is just a mere constant 300-400 ms.
Hope this temporarily solution helps, until ANet improves their server’s connection resources or implement an adjustable network settings in the game options.

I’m also backing up this issue that there is also something wrong with 64.25.38.161, as reported in this post.
Another user also reported in this thread regarding the server with the same IP address.
Two years later and I still don’t have my zoo, my poor animals.
The necromancer is strong in this one.
The map with the bugged event is currently the primary instance for NA servers. My home is Blackgate but that probably doesn’t matter.
Edit: I cannot determine which part caused the event to stall. The primary NPC (Maybri Shadowstalker) to start the event is inside Hunter’s Gorge, with the option to interact to start the assault, which does nothing.
(edited by Geekfox.4267)
Stalled within 35 minutes of new game update. Map IP *.38.137.

It’s best to join any party of that instance in case you disconnect. That way you’ll be back in the instance you disconnected from.
I noticed that it also stopped working, so I can’t apply some depth fix for Nvidia 3D Vision.

After Fire Elemental, a player unlocked center reactor room for Steam Ogre. I jumped in and dive in to a water. Seconds that I’m stuck in the sky above the Steam Ogre platfrom for several seconds, unable to descend to tag the boss. Probably bad a map. Not even a lot of people, so that’s extremely unusual.
Entered Cursed Shore instance that has a bugged Pact crash survivor event with a wreckage that’s blocking the Orrian Sapling? Here’s how to get it:
1. Jump and stand directly on top of the wreckage
2. Return to Character Selection screen and re-enter Cursed Shore
3. Move freely inside the wreckage and chop the sapling
4. ????
5. PROFIT
You’re welcome.
Also, to leave the wreckage, just run from it until you hit the invisible wall boundary and reconnect to Cursed Shore.
Ironically, Experimental Rifle is more reliable than Lightning Pull aspect.
No need to thank me.

Issue: Multiple disconnect for no apparent reason. Probably worst offender, even if there’s just several players doing the Megadestroyer events.
Or was it that it only displayed the damage that killed you but didn’t display the damage that downed you?
This one. The Elite one hits for almost 30K damage, and only one “30K” damage was shown throughout the combat log for that event.
Except it didn’t show the damage log when the Elite Risen Plague Carrier initially hits. So it’s still a bug.
I was at Temple of Lyssa, when all of a sudden few people near my side suddenly got downed including me. Few seconds later the downed got simultaneously dead.
I checked the combat log and saw “Elite RIsen Plague Carrier hits you for 29,599 using Explode”, followed by damage armor log. But there was no other attacks in the log before that that would’ve caused instant down hits. This apparently was supposed to be “Unknown”, but it seems to no longer show Unknown in combat log, which would leave some players baffled, so I wonder what is up with that.

I left the instance with *.38.162 as the IP address. It was too desynched from the game client. I tried to get into the tower after serveral tries but the dumb instance will not acknowledge my jump timing on MY screen. It was frustrating.
I joined another instance with *.38.158 as the IP. Went up and jumped. The game lets me in just one try.
So yeah, if you’re a map that’s not synchronized, try to enter a different instance.
I’ve been getting a few cases where after advertising a LFG party for events such as Temple of Dwayna, people can’t seem to join my party. All of a sudden, 3 people appeared in my party list at the same time, but they reside in Sparkfly Fen for ferrying.
There has been a conflicted chat about who joined who. I asked how they joined my party if I’m ferrying people in for Temple of Dwayna. Likewise, they asked how I joined their party if they’re ferrying people in for Tequatl.
So either there’s seems to be a glitch in the system, causing two LFG occurrence to “collide” with each other.
Or maybe someone was too twitchy and clicked on that “Merge” button? It’s hard to tell.
Then again, LFG is beta anyway.
GW2 does not have the font to support Hiragana and Katakana characters.
Seriously, why does the suppression system affect LFG function? This has to be a bug, because when the LFG creation gets surpressed, it leaves a blank title on the LFG instead. This shouldn’t happen.
Join a party to ensure you get sent back to the map you were in when you reconnect.
You have to earn event contribution for each battery phases for blue, green, and rare chests. The exotic chest is once per daily (daily reset is 0:00 UTC), the giant chest on the ground is once per day per character.
ANet should revert the connection resources they adjusted since the September 30 patch.
There are times where I am over 200 feet away from a mass event and I suddenly get hit and downed by nothing around me. Depending on the latency held by the server side, the revive skill may not work.

I’ve just exit the game and relogged in. That fixed the broken TP page.

I did not experience lag from other instance until the game placed me in the map with this specific IP address. It caused me to lag behind by over a minute while attacking Viscount Candy Corn boss. After the event is done the game refused to let me loot the chest, given that the chest is selectable and interactable. A minute later the skeleton mobs “speed hack” from the other side and ungodly melted my health.
I lost the chance to loot this chest tonight. Please take a look at that server’s IP address.
Also, the pathping tool doesn’t seem to work in my campus.

There is no fix for objects rendering at wrong depth in 3D in Guild Wars 2, such as the aggravating ANet icons and “World completion” star icon. It’s up to game developers to fix this issue, but they have not responded to such issues for the past 2 years.
There are several ways to disable stereoscopic 3D:
1. Press Ctrl+T
2. Open, nVidia control panel, go to “Set up stereoscopic 3D” and uncheck “Enable stereoscopic 3D”.
3. Open “PC Settings”, navigate to “PC and Devices” and “Display”. Turn “3D Display Mode” off.
Ultimately, you can uninstall “Nvidia 3D Vision Driver” in Programs and Features.

ENORMOUS LATENCY. By the time we escorted the Pact to the altar of Temple of Balthazar, something downed me almost instantly. The game would not let me heal myself and I died. The game took freaking 30 seconds to waypoint me to the Rally Waypoint. By the time I was there, Risen Priest of Balthazar was already at 40% and melting. The map pulled me way behind in time from the real-time event due to the server’s inadequate downstream to my game client. I was not given the chance to WP back in time and run back up to the altar like the game was supposed to before last week’s game update.
ZERO chest awarded.

Experienced up to 2 minutes of latency while killing Megadestroyer. That’s over the time the Ancient Treasure chest only lasts on the ground.
See: Game Bugs: Your game didn’t let me loot Chest
After killing Megadestroyer, I stand on the chest and keep hitting my “Use” key until your game lets me loot it. 2 minutes later the Ancient Chest ultimately disappeared. Please give the chest a LONGER time than just a measly 2 minute. Same goes for Inquest Resource chest at Inquest’s Golem Mark II.

I was in a party where we all attack Fire Elemental boss in Thaumanova Reactor in the same map instance. After looting the ground chest, I went to the center reactor room to wait for someone to open the force cield.
Until I was told that it was opened and Steam Ogre was killed just seconds ago, while it NEVER happened on my screen. I reconnect to skip all the “queued data” to real-time instance and found out that the console for the force field is now disabled.
Yet another case of getting de-synchronized from the game instance.

if you’ll interrupt them, they stop life leeching.
’sup?
Except when people got incapable of interrupting them, and the Veteran Subjugators ended up leeching health from the farthest waypoint. Who’s going to stop them now?
