Us players on EU servers wouldn’t mind seeing some A-Net once in a while, too.

While I agree with everything you say fundamentally, I’m a bit curious about the reasoning behind this particular achievement. The best thing about the new daily/monthly set up is that according to what part of the game appeals to you most you can usually get them done without too much of your time bleeding into other areas. For these periscopes, they don’t exactly add anything to the game. Are there people that actually find these fun? Not easy or convenient for achieving the requirements of the monthly. I mean genuinely intriguing, captivating, interesting, thrilling, etc.? They aren’t even part of any sort of routine while normally playing the game.

Not really. The effects will be the same, just more people will be effected by those effects. Skill lag would only be minimally affected.

The detail on it is amazing and the armor effects are really cool, but the shape of it is pretty bad IMO. Looks like the shape of a picket sign or a boat oar. Needs a larger head and slightly shorter handle.

The more skills are split the more people are pressured to stick with 1 game mode. I don’t want to have to re-learn my class to try a new game mode, or keep track of 3 different variations of each skill.

Run over to loot or auto loot. Maybe an option in menu to only loot certain rarity?

Simple, give the option to the player. If players want to run around picking bags, let them. But for the rest of us that don’t a more streamlined and sensible solution would be nice.

For the players that like prestige for veterans, skins are the perfect solution. If it were stats, I would agree with those that want them always here. It makes them more unique by rarity as time goes by.

Quite a few of the personal story missions reward items that are specific to that very mission.
Unless you do the exact same thing (which would be impossible with different race) you will not get the same missions and therefore not the same rewards.

If you use a race change, it erases your personal story, so you start over from the beginning. During the race change, you select your new storyline (just like making a new character). You keep your level, your trait points, and your skill points. You have to unlock your utilities and elites, along with your weapon skills.

I guess the only issue I could see is cultural armor. You could require the hero to not be wearing any armor during the race change.

So, how would that work with all the special Personal Story rewards?
You can only get certain rewards from certain branches and it would be more or less impossible to track down and delete all these items when resetting the personal story.

Personally, I really like one-time skins. They are just cosmetic and it’s a good way to show prestige for vets of the game in a few years.

That’s it really. You just create a new character and get to the level 10 step of the story (your actual level is around 4-5). Once you complete it, you get a key as a reward.

Why do you have such an issue with it? Because you don’t want it, others shouldn’t be able to either?

I would love to be able to use that hammer. It’d be cool if it gave a glowing aura around the user (like the purple one on the hammer when charged) but the color was determined by your dye color.

OK, so from what Josh said, he’s “pretty sure they’re going to retire the current set after April” and that he doesn’t think they will have the same set of Super Skins at our next release. Does that mean that we’ll never see the current skins available again? Hard to say. It could mean that next time the Super Skins will be back with skins for the Pistol/Dagger/Hammer/Rifle included. It could mean that the next set is ONLY the Pistol/Dagger/Hammer/Rifle skins. Or it might mean that each time the available skins are totally random, or that new variants of Super skins for all weapons are available at the next release.

In short, the speculation field is WIDE OPEN. Do with it what thou wilt, free market!

Personally, I already have the Super Backpack on my Asura, which is all I really wanted from the set, so I’m content with just watching what unfolds next.

Sometimes I find myself lying dead surrounded by loot bags – makes me laugh every time.

The fact that SAB has automatically obtained loot proves that they have the ability to give us this option. They just don’t want to for some reason.

They haven’t told us anything that will be included in this months update, so I would assume it’s either:

1- Not much, similar to the first Flame and Frost ‘teaser’. Just some filler Living Story stuff.

2- Something awesome like new armor skins for bringing more Ascended items in.

Odds are heavily leaning towards option 1, I’d think.

We are working on adding more info to these leaderboards right now and the first area we are intending to get to is displaying WvW rank data. I would like to see us get some guild specific info as well, but the first step is the individual info. The suggestions here are also areas we’ll likely look into, if they are feasible.

Guild based would be amazing! Request: PLEASE find a way to make at least some stats based per capita. I can imagine that all the easy to implement metrics are based on totals that will heavily favor the-larger-the-guild-the-higher-the-numbers. But these will neglect so many WvW-only guilds that have far fewer numbers.

Or exploit abusers, it’s hard to say. Some people abused glitches in the system allowing them to accrue points they shouldn’t have been able to, and it’s unclear whether ANet has addressed them yet or subtracted from the account points post-mortem.

The only one I know of is the HoM tinkerer one, which was fixed months ago (and points taken away). There could have been others, but that’s all I know.

Good answer Devon. There shouldn’t be separate reset timers anyway much less separate NA and EU servers.

The only good reason why there are separate NA and EU servers is for latency issues. We don’t need to separate any other things and create more unnecessary work.

Having separate NA and EU servers is already a problem when grouping for dungeons. Ideally, we should have simple global servers if the latency issues could be eliminated.

No need to cater to the special interests of these EU guilds that don’t bother staying up for reset. There are plenty of EU server guilds that DO participate at reset and they should not have their times switched because of a few lazy guilds.

The current reset time is fine. Thank you.

^While it is possible, it also creates a ridiculous amount of balance issues. Many classes will want more AoE to compete with other classes, and many players will want one weapon skill to have more AoE than another weapon skill and so on. In the end, the AoE caps put on individual skills ends up discriminating against classes that don’t have higher caps.

This is the course of history the game will likely take, though. If the AoE limit is removed, then the devs are going to end up having to continually balance things based on how exploitable they are. I imagine it’ll be a week before Life Transfer gets hit.

But you could use that same line of reasoning to justify why all professions should have the exact same skills. It’s easier, but not very engaging or gratifying/complex for the player. And according to what your end goal is, it’s usually not the most suitable design anyway.

There will need to be balancing done to have varying caps, yes. But that’s the nature of a competitive game generally. It’s a change that would be for the betterment of the WvW experience as a whole.

I’m not disagreeing with this. I’d like to see dailies removed from the totals altogether, myself. I was responding to people who said all the achievements were just killing 1000 mosquitos and meant nothing. Some of them are quite challenging.

Such a fun night in WvW tonight. Dius never topped 15 and ran with about 10 nearly all night but it was awesome. Epic battles in Longview tower, lost some won some. Only time we had serious help was from TDA in one of the Longview fights is was us guys Vs RED mainly I think and god knows how many others. I’m surprised we lasted long enough for TDA to get there and help, was more surprised that we managed to win that fight :O

We were surprised when that BB zerg followed us into the JP area.. strangest fight of mah GW2 life :P

Lastly, had a 7 Vs KISS which was suicidy for us but we were like… YOLO

It’s almost as if some of you guys don’t realize that they can limit the amount of targets differently for each skill. Having a universal hard cap isn’t the only way to handle it, nor the best way.

The armor design department has been in hiding since beta.

Someone had over 20k achievement points because of salvaging. They mean little to nothing.

That was me. They’ve been removed in preparation for the leaderboards, yet dailies remain.

Oh, I didn’t know they did that already. What’s the new cap for the Entropy achievement?

It’s 250 for both Entropy and Dungeon Explorer. However, the dungeon one is bugged and won’t let some people get credit. Mine has been stuck at 30 points for months.
