Dialogue annoying? That’s a personal problem. Can’t see how 2 years later, people still haven’t habitually tuned them out like a switch.

In my experience, this almost as natural as breathing. My attention will switch to dialogue like a dog ready to play fetch. If I’ve mentally recorded said dialogue so that only what I haven’t heard before interests me. Anything else goes through one ear and out the other. Then again I’m a pretty selective listener; at times, I’ve totally ignored people in teamspeak as result.

TLDR Turn off/on dialogue as needed. I don’t see this as worth Anet’s time in the near future.

Weird dye channel bug(specifically for Thief)

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Geneaux.9547

I keep getting this strange bug when altering my dye channels on my thief. Its goes like this: after ever attempt to finalize my dye changes, the all of my armor pieces(except the head, shoulders, and arms) take on the color of the last dye I selected, in their entirety. If I close and reopen the hero panel, the preview retains that incorrect appearance, yet the actual change still seems to take and represent itself correctly in the world(I haven’t asked others to confirm this for me). To reset the hero panel’s preview to display correctly, I have to relog(character select screen is fine) or go to a new map. However, the Lion’s Arch was the map I was in when the dye changes were made… I think behaved even stranger when I was in Lion’s Arch with wardrobe skin changes along with dye changes at once; it would always spawn me in Trader’s Forum when attempting to reset that preview, even if I had swapped to a new map before relogging(I did both of these actions at the time because I couldn’t tell what was going on).

In short, a map change or relog will fix the preview, period. But not the ‘cause’ because it will always resurface the bug, or at least in my case. Is this possibly specific to a particular skin(s)? I recently changed my chest, leggings, and boot skins to the strider’s set(chest and leggings) and zodiac set(boots). I’ve kept my head, pauldron, and gauntlet skins. That seems to match up nicely with the bug, visually speaking.

I’ve briefly attempted to reproduce the bug on my warrior main to no avail. I honestly don’t think its class specific, and probably those specific skins. I’m out of transmutation stones now, and I’ve got the appearance I wanted. Somebody else would have to attempt to reproduce the bug if they want to verify my findings.

how boring is warrior

in Warrior

Geneaux.9547

As has been said the Warrior is easy to pick and and run with, but not so easy if you plan on mastering it, there are pit-falls that are very hard to overcome, and you hit that ‘skill-ceiling’ wall hard.
Considering you enjoy in-your-face type combat, like Renekton, I’d think you’ll enjoy playing Warrior, there are a fair amount of builds, some easier to use than others, with different strengths and weaknesses and even entirely different strategies/styles, as there are with all professions. There is always something so extremely satisfying about slamming into someone with your hammer, becoming the bull with Rampage, or charging an enemy zerg, setting up some combos or kills with Earthshaker, chasing or escaping with GS Rush and Whirlwind, and, if you spec for it, obliterating someone with a good Killshot.

PvE is pretty basic, GS is almost a must with the DPS on Hundred Blades, then you can mix it up with the secondary set, I like longbow personally. Banners, signets, and maybe a shout or two takes up your utility, and it’s fairly straight forward.
I’d definitely recommend giving it a try, very in-your-face, active, and aggressive, I don’t think you’d get even remotely bored of it in SPvP and WvW.

GS in pve is for stacking might actually. Axe has the highest DPS.

http://dulfy.net/2014/06/28/gw2-comprehensive-warrior-pve-guide-by-element/#Builds

Not really. GS edges out by a fairly negligible amount from what I see.

You’re planning to post sensitive information on the forum and wipe your account, but you haven’t even lost your account yet. By your own statement you are only worried that one day you might permanently lose access to the account because the phone that you have authentication is dead.

Why don’t you try to get the phone fixed and try contacting the bank to pull up records for that credit card number before you post sensitive account information?

as i said alredy i have the bill were i bought the game lol 39 usd it even haves a code like the bill itself

also fixing my phone costs 300 usd +- wich is aprox 9 gw2 accounts…….. is not that my account is not that money worth to me but i simply dont have 300 usd to spare on a phone honestly

and ya i havent lost access but i will eventually as i mentioned i have a DYNAMIC IP wich changes every now and then the very moment it changes it will require me to verify …….thing that i wont be able to do in consecuence my account will be lock

and yes the lesson is more than valuable
1 never trust games support, w.e is the reason to much work or w.e they dont care anything but $ as all good company

2 WRITE DOWN ur serial always when buy a digital edition i never had a prob with this cuz this is actually the only digital game i got all others are boxy

3 if ur reading this post and u have lost ur serial DO NOT bound a phone to ur account u can screw urself, also if u did lost ur serial and have a phone bound this always a good time to change it b4 ur phone dies and u end like me

So, are you going to contact the bank and have them pull the records to see if they can find the credit card information? That information might be what you need to prove ownership. After that you can get the phone authentication disabled.

i really think ur not reading me or my language barrier is way way much
i have the record…….. i sent the record to anet alredy
and the answer i got was

we cant still prove ur the owner of the account if u have more information to add we could keep helping if not we can close the ticket.

What did you actually put on the form?(Don’t actually post sensitive info. Just bluntly describe it.)

Does he not know his own card information? Is it not available to him on hand? I had a similar issue with authenticator at one point: I had bought a new phone but the Google authenticator app would crash as soon as it opened. Contacted Arenanet CS, filled out the form, gave credit card info(a card that was used on the account), and they disabled the authenticator.

Ascended Gear suggestions

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Geneaux.9547

Geneaux.9547

No arguement here at all. My question is why? If PvE stats matter in WvW why do they not matter in PvP?

The stat swap isnt necessarily limited to fractals. Having the freedom to swap to a different stat combination whenever you want without having to craft a whole new set and carry it around everywhere you go would nice. Thats all

I understand where you’re coming from, but people are gonna need some other incentive to have their ascended gear downgraded and the hard work they put in, for benefits other than stat swapping on the fly. Maybe the ability to select any rune combo free of charge, in addition to the stat change. Better yet, maybe even keep the 5% stat bump too.

However I think this would just create complications because ascended armor is held to the same standards and rules of ascended weapons.

Suggestion: Make all ascended gear equal in stats to exotic, in exchange give ascended gear the ability to change to a secondary stat combination.

And invalidate all the work and gold people have shoved into making their full ascended gear sets for stat swap abilities?

No.

Explain why it would be invalidated? The cost or amount of work to get it would be the same…so the prestige would remain.

Because we all know, people don’t switch gear enough in fractals even for that to matter. The PvE meta is zerk/assassin 8 times out of 10, or get out. Hell, trinkets are enough as is for agony resistance, if fractals their thing. WvW is the only area of the game this could affect.

Its too much cheaper anyway to buy or craft necessary exotic sets for WvW purposes, than crafting a full ascended set for the stat swap ability.

RNG Conspiracy Conundrum

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Geneaux.9547

Geneaux.9547

The evidence is that it is a possibility that RNG could or may be rigged. Yes it cannot be proven without insider knowledge, but we know that’s not the point.

Fact: Its a reasonable possibility. Its doesn’t need to be proven because it is “proof” in and of itself.

Possibility does not automatically become a reasonable possibility without any proof. So far not only i have seen no proof that is more concrete than loud shouting and handwaving, but the conspiracy theories i have heard so far were in general pretty unreasonable (with many going well beyond that, into the realm of ridiculous or downright hilarious).

I’ve already given the “proof”: none of us work for Anet, none of us have the exact algorithms the servers use to calculate RNG, and none us can say can say whether or not unknown actors are at play. All if this can be gathered without attempting to prove anything, yet it does when the “point” being made is a “possibility”.

Possibility is the hypothetical, not the actual.

Yes. Hypothetical. Not reasonable.
Hypothetically, Aliens and Illuminati can exist as well, but if you’ll start using this as a basis for discussion, without any proof of their existence, you will be only laughed at (and for a good reason).

…and some of the RNG conspiracy theories are not even hypothetical, they are just dumb.

TL/DR: you can say that we can’t prove you’re wrong, but i still say that the possibility of you being right, while it does exist, is so vanishingly small we may as well ignore it without any further data.
Seriously, the only thing most of those threads are good for is a good laugh (double points if you know a bit about probability or programming, or both, and can spot the rampant ignorance). And sometimes not even that.

Fair enough, can’t argue any further.

[Suggestion]Useful Magic Find

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Geneaux.9547

Geneaux.9547

You people need to stop getting your panties in a bunch because you didn’t get one particular rare item. Just sell the stuff you get, buy what you want, and don’t worry about whether you hit the jackpot and get a precursor because that magic find is turning fines into masterworks and masterworks into rares. It’s turning T5 crafting mats into T6, which are worth 10-15 times as much. I’m perfectly happy to get T6 mats. That money adds up!

Oh get off your high horse. You sound like one of those individuals that get hit by a stroke of luck and is afraid of change because his narrow-mindedness, clouded judgement, and complacency, has never seen the complete mediocrity that is RNG, ie. see Destiny.

Typical shill attitude.

Or Anet could simply raise the drop rates from the typical koren style game 0,001% to actually drop rates, that make sense, and that would get influenced better actualyl by Magic Find.

That’s a terrible idea. If ANet were to change drop rates so that it’s possible for any given person to reliably get any given item, then it would mean the item would be on the trading post for next to nothing because too many people who don’t want it would find it.

That is a superior idea. Making things difficult to obtain by means of drop rate itself is stupid these days anyway. Why? Because it breeds the same desolate and terrible gaming environments that Korean MMOs have created. It’s why ANet has taken the route of making precursors craftable, not easy, but craftable. You have uniqueness and rarity just like that.

There is not one kitten unique thing about grinding the Mystic Forge or buying a precursors of TP. Stop arguing nonsense.

That’s why the game is set up with a trading post, and items are so rare. If you find something you don’t want, you’re meant to sell it to someone who does want it. If you want something, you’re meant to buy it. If you don’t like that, then farm dungeon tokens instead.

RNG Conspiracy Conundrum

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Geneaux.9547

Geneaux.9547

Another thread, another failure to understand statistical variance.

Also, your presented dichotomy is a false equivalence. You admit in your very first paragraph that there is no evidence to support “RNG is Borked”. To quote Christopher Hitchens, “That which can be asserted without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence.”

The evidence is that it is a possibility that RNG could or may be rigged. Yes it cannot be proven without insider knowledge, but we know that’s not the point.

Fact: Its a reasonable possibility. Its doesn’t need to be proven because it is “proof” in and of itself.

But it’s worse than that. We can not only dismiss the claim without evidence because it has none supporting it, we have evidence to indicate it is not the case. Even a cursory understanding of statistics would allow one to see that just by pure chance on a sample size as large as the player population would lead to many (a large number, but a small percent) having an uncanny drop rate for good loot (in both directions, lots and none). What we see is exactly what would be expected from a reasonable, working, unbiased RNG.

Evidence=/=Proof

You cannot dismiss yolo swaggins’s claim because it does not claim anything, other than a possibility that cannot physically be proven, as of now. We do not have the actual algorithms that tell us exactly how the RNG works and no amount of sampling will change that. Statistical estimates will be as far as we go, and they still only be evidence.

Furthermore, any suggestion that ANet would actually have an incentive to create an intentionally, and secretly, broken RNG system is specious at best. The cost benefit of such a move is wholly in the red. Even if you think that the arguments for its effectiveness at making ANet more money would actually work (which I do not think they would), the additional amount that it would make the company is far outweighed by the negative repercussions that would follow should such a plan actually come to light.

The RNG as it stands is far from ideal, nor is the system in itself satisfactory. The Magic find that’s supposed to improve you loot, can’t do that because all the chests you open aren’t affected by it. It what it does affect(mob drops), it does very little of, if a precursor is the goal. Only Anet can answer the question of “feasibility of change” but what they can’t deny is mediocrity of the system’s “reward effectiveness vs player dedication” job.

I’m also quite sure that some one at ANet actually has gone and run the numbers (because they actually have access to the data) to detect if there is a problem as described. And I’m sure that what they’ve found very closely matches the distribution that would be expected from an unbiased RNG, and that the only reason they haven’t come forward with their data is because there would be no point. Those conspiracy theorists that defend the idea that there are “cursed” and “blessed” accounts are not going to be convinced by the math because people like me have already tried. ANet trying to do so would only fall on deaf ears who would only see ANet’s attempt to assuage their concerns as an attempt to cover up the truth, because that’s how conspiracies are fed; how conspiracy theorists react to cognitive the dissonance of confronting evidence that does not conform to their beliefs. It all must be part of the conspiracy.

Again, assumption for the sake of logic an assumption. Having access to the data that they’ve created does not mean they’ve bothered to test it extensively. I would hope that they did, but we cannot say that they did.

Logic does not pick sides. That is the job of common sense, but because it is common sense, it does not apply to where there can be duality.

Pre-existing characters and hero points

So, what happens to characters who’d already unlocked every skill and trait in the game?
How about people who had 100% map completion and had done every skill challenge?

Do all characters start off with everything locked and a number of hero points equivalent to the things they’ve already done to earn them? That seems most likely from what we know so far.

I don’t know if anyone was paying atteniton to the stream right now, but IIRC. They said 80s with all the skill points(hero points) will be grandfathered in with 400 out of the 500+(580 I think?) hero points obtainable. Or something to that effect; I recall the the numbers 400 and 500-something specifically.

I don’t get the impression Angry Joe stays long in any game. What he does is play and review new games as they come out and probably any expansions they have. Unless he has a lot of free time, whatever game he is currently playing in order to review is going to be the one he is going to main. This game has it’s good points and it’s bad points, like any game and he reviewed and pointed out what he thought those were. Then he left for the next game, just as he will leave the game he is currently playing to play and review another.

He is a reviewer. He plays, reviews, leaves. It’s kind of silly imo to say, well he hasn’t played in X amount of time so therefore (insert opinion Y).

Makes sense, really. As far as we know, this IS his sole job, and he has to make the most of his time very often I presume. I can’t imagine shelling out hours of GW2 game time while simultaneously doing the same for games that are released to provide an adequate, all-around, assessment of a game in its various factors. I believe in one of his videos he said he puts around ~60-something hours in a single game. Regularly reading and/or communicating with a said game’s community, all before he begins the actual review. Anyone who says he’s full of smoke, haven’t watched a real in-depth review, or are extremely complacent with 5-10min “impressions”.

Precursor skins unlock for legendary weapons?

so for example if I have Dusk now…and keep it like this untill the expansion is out…will I get the new pre skins as well or?….

The new precursor skins are complete revamps. Those old precursor skins will no longer exist when that update hits since the whole purpose of the update is to make them unique and different from the non-precursor weapons the shared the old skin.

Of course not! How could Anet continue pretending that this thread doesn’t exist if it was stickied?

Sarcasm aside, and blatant necros, what’s the likelihood they’ll revisit a thread with no community input in the last 2 months?

Are you rolling Sylvari for HoT?

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Geneaux.9547

No. I don’t personally like them. I’d sooner make an Asura. I just don’t like the look or feel of them. If anything, I’ll be glad when the game moves away from them. They have to be the centre of everything since launch. It will be nice to see them take a back seat once we move on to the next dragon.

Since when were Sylvari in the spotlight? The last time anyone gave a serious look at the Sylvari, Modremoths weeds were popping up all over Tyria. For whatever foreshadowing that existed in-game before Modremoth awakened, it was ignored by all but the most intrigued.

nope human’s are the only race i’ll play, everything else looks so stupid, especially charr and asura, dumbest looking races ive ever seen in a game

Humans and by far are the dumbest looking race in video game history. Complete with their useless upright legs ‘n posture. Pompous aren’t they?

Definitely rolling a Sylvari Revenant.

Questions about gem purchases

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Geneaux.9547

Geneaux.9547

The gem store has account-wide unlockable “outfits”, which are non-customizable armor permutations(free, after purchase), and account-wide armor skins, which when purchased, delivers the armor skins via mail so they may be applied once for free. Any further changes regarding a piece of equipment, will cost you transmutation charges. Skins purchased are applied to your account as unlocks but they must be opened from the bundled pack received by mail. Armor and weapons you receive along your travels normally have skins that will be unique to them. Once acquired, it will permanently unlock its skin for your account. Note: some weapons and armors share skins.

Show locked skins in Hero panel wardrobe

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Geneaux.9547

Geneaux.9547

I disagree with this suggestion. It would add TONS of clutter to an already cluttered interface. Letting us preview onto our hero panel would be a better suggestion, as we already have the wardrobe at the bank.

You have every weapon skin, every item skin, and every back piece skin then. In your hero window, the same thing you use for on-the-fly changes. That is a LOT of information to have for a new player, or even an old player. Like 5000+ options in a single small window. That’s not a good idea.

Using the bank, with all it’s larger interface and it’s better ability to be sorted, I think we should preview into the hero window. Just not have the options in the hero window themselves. Otherwise we’re dealing with too much kitten.

It’s different than minis or dyes, because there simply isn’t thousands of them. Minis are stored by what they are, and there is only 120 of them (give or take) total. Dyes are a similar story, with only a couple more than minis, each with tiny icons unlike weapons or armor.

Listing them all just doesn’t work, in addition to it constantly being a taunt that you don’t have every last weapon skin.

The problem you describe is a byproduct of the UI itself, not the suggestion. You seem to gearing towards an entire UI overhaul, something many of us are already demanding. In the meantime, all we want is a hugely immense and small change regarding skin preview. If dyes can have them, there’s no reason skins ought to be excluded.

Town Clothes, In Memoriam

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Geneaux.9547

Never saw the point of use for town clothes beyond role-playing, which I don’t do.

considering that many players dont rpg beyond combat or pve, or evrything else than just staying or walking around somewhere and talk or else, its a pretty strange business decision.
ok i forgot: dancing around…

why exclude such a big player base from buying good looking armor at the shop? who knows.

little example: my char walks into a heavy snowy area to to some quests or else. my imidiate reaction as a more casual rp player (some calls this IMMERSION) is: “i would like to fight in appropriate armor for this area. where is my kitten awesome inuit-suit?”
just to find out, its in the tab, locked forever (in a could and would status) and kitten its outfit anyway….but why?

Even then, its still pointless, as far as Anet is concerned. The whole purpose and theme of the game is to combat the threat of the Elder Dragons. Nothing else is conducive to this, save “immersion” purposes and that’s entirely subjective and varies from person to person. Now I will concede in that Anet offers other useless tidbits, all things considered like bobblehead kits and charr bass guitars, but they’re fickle existences to satiate time in which you are doing nothing. Town clothes usage was even less “tangible” than that.
Outfits look to be Anet’s solution to the town clothes disparity. They offer looks without sacrificing stats, which means consistent combat effectiveness. Which is what you will be doing 9/10, if role-playing isn’t your thing. They seem to make up the majority of players. Not trying to bash but town clothes don’t fit the core audience.

Mounts [merged]

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Geneaux.9547

I don’t think we need mounts.
the screens is often cluttered enough with all the minis and wings.
it’s not like the orld is so big that you can’ even travel by food in a decent amount of time.

I don’t see disccusion or anyone up in arms about particle-effect-zerg-hell in the game or combative mounts.

If they would be faster then players it would be pay 2 win.
Even if you’d pay cash to use them.

Looking at the game’s use of shared loot, the average time it takes for people to get to most significant types of events like world bosses, and the overall lax tone the game plays, can you explain how you came to this conclusion? I mean, no one here can say what the acquisition method for mounts(IF they’re implemented) will be. The statement or assumption that they’ll cost gems is a foolhardy one at best.

New to GW2, server full.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Geneaux.9547

Geneaux.9547

Heya,

I bought GW2 two days ago after my wow sub ran out due to frustration with wow pvp balance in WoD.

I happen to live in germany but due to my working times it is best for me to play on a US server. Now I had installed the game and read up a lot on beginner knowledge, getting into GW2 etc I also do happen to enjoy RP and read that Tarnished Coast is the RP server.

Now the problem is I am unable to get on the server as it is full.

I’ve tried 2 times now to get on it while nighttime/early morning in the US and it didn’t work.

Funny enough, during the afternoon shortly after having finished the installation, tarnished coast showed up as very high and it allowed me to connect. The game told me it’d synchronize my account with the server and it’d take a restart. After restarting the server was full again and nothing happened.

I’ve heard of the megaserver thing, does it work like CRZ in WoW? What are the downsides?
If I pick an EU server will I also be able to get to tarnished coast?

What is a highly populated altnerative server if I can via megaserver indeed get to tarnished coast

and if that is not the case, I am -unwilling- to level up on another server and delete the chars later/transfer. I -insist- on being on tarnished coast. Sounds stuck up but I don’t want to be forced on another server due to such a thing.

Thanks in advance for any replies, help or tips!

Mega-server system is the PvE world overlap for all servers in a given region. So theres a Mega-server for NA, EU, and China. These region specific Mega-servers don’t communicate with one another at all, or never have, afaik. In conclusion your best bet is very much likely an RP-dominate EU server, if it exists. I suppose TC is still an option since you live in Germany and most Europeans enjoy MUCH faster speeds than the majority of Americans(at least 80-90% of the American pop). So you might have an acceptable latency experience.

Charr Male 1 gets a free pass because it is at least believable(not reality), doesn’t look like a joke, and it reminds me of Red XIII

I alway Crash How to fix this ?

in Account & Technical Support

Posted by: Geneaux.9547

Geneaux.9547

I have been having crashing issues for 2 weeks now, I have tried repairing the archive and even downloaded the client again and did a total re install but it still happens.

Exception: c0000005

Let me guess, you have Verizon as your ISP? Vnet does not even know how to fix the issue, the tech support person I got was almost brain dead on the topic of networks. It seems Verizon likes to router GW2 packets through Europe which makes the launcher crash, especially during installing. I have tried everything they told em to try (changing DNS, host file editing, ports open,no firewall, multiple VPNs tried) so at this point Im making a ticket to try to get a refund, they have had this issue for over a year from what I can see so Im done wasting my time.

This isn’t a network issue. If you read his logs, the evidence points heavily to memory referencing and allocation issues. And I have virtually the exact same issue myself. Since before the latest patch, it would infrequently but annoyingly crash from time to time. Now, as of the latest patch, its impossible to maintain 10-15 mins of active gameplay without a crash.

Oh for Pete’s sake, I don’t know why this is difficult to grasp:

“Mounts” in this game, in their current state, amount to(pun unintended) no more than cosmetics and toys. They offer no benefit to any user but “street” cred. Mount-advocates don’t want toys, they want ‘mounts’ that look, play, and at the minimum, play the part.

LFG tool: Add class filter

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

LFG Filter. I see alot of unhappy necros in that future. I think this idea is best left alone. If you want a particular class, define it in the party description. There is enough characters to type that out. And if the party requirement is not filled, there is always the kick function.

Going off a tangent here but: There seems to me there’s some duality in the relationship people have with necros. They don’t want want to be the kitten that says no to necros but on the other hand would likely be the first people to jump ship on the idea of a LFG filter.

People in this thread who are pretending like implementing a Dx12 version of the game would mean that the devs would have to redesign the game engine from scratch are insane.

World of Warcraft has a Dx11 and Dx9 mode and the Dx11 mode runs MUCH better, up to 50% improvement in frame rate, and the devs didn’t have to stop remake their engine and the Dx9 client didn’t have to be scrapped and thrown away.

But hey, you guys can believe what ever nonsense you like.

So what is the point of this thread? bashing ESO? Eso done a lot of things right and wrong just like GW2, no point in bashing it. I think ESO is a decent game and a good alternative for GW2, so I play them both.
Things ESO done better than GW2::
*looting
*Skill system
*mount
*questing
*dungeon
Things GW2 done better than ESO
*pvp
*exploration
*combat
*graphic
No game is better than another, stop making thread like this.

-ESO’s looting system is terrible, period. Not even gonna bother arguing this.
-Skill system? So vague.
-GW2 doesn’t really “need” mounts, but it’d be awesome nonetheless.
-Questing is, in many respects to typical Elder Scrolls games, are outright terrible too. “Questing”(hearts and events) in GW2 are far more compelling for players.
- Dungeons? Haven’t tried ’em, but if they contain the same terrible loot competition scheme going on, its not gonna be something most people want to be apart of.

Eso is still new mmo compare with Guild Wars 2: 3 years

Next time before attack new game: do research first. Also, by the time Eso is 3 years: you will see huge diference.

Being a new game(or new studio), is no get free pass(excuse) for terrible mechanics, experiences, etc. GW2 was an amazing game from its release and still is, 3 years later, today. While ESO still has the same dealbreaking problems since it was released, that should have been priority number one, even over new content.

Also: do you know Final Fantasy 14 have more players than Guild Wars 2? How old is Final Fantasy 14 compare to Guild Wars 2?

Its amazing what Halo-level popularity can do. /s

But seriously what would anyone expect? Its Final Fantasy. We all know that IP name holds as much weight as the literal term itself.

The lesson is: it is not about compare who is that and what is this to that? it is about having a vision for challenge and fun for your game include your players.

So we can’t criticize, when it’s needed?(Which is all the time.)

Square Enix know that: that is why they redo Final Fantasy 14 because they now know how important player value challenge and fun. Including working with their player to find solution to problems and to give their players fun and good challenge things.

Square Enix took MAJOR heat in FFXIV’s original release. They, iirc, FIRED the original game director, and placed a new one. Now this director basically took a huge gamble and had the game almost rewritten from scratch. The ‘heat’ the first game took was molded ad reforged into the glorious miracle that became ARR:FFXIV.

More evidence: how long did it take for Square Enix to make stealth (Ninja Prof.) challenge and fun in their game and for their players compare to Arena net Guild Wars 2 Thief Prof. stealth who offer No challenge, and offer no fun. I will not even talk about Final Fantasy pvp vs Guild Wars 2 pvp.

Define stealth. Because clearly these two games have different definitions in both design, art style, and pure combat mechanics.

Square Enix is still learning to work with their players to make game fun and challenge: they are not perfect but trying hard

So Anet doesn’t listen to its players?

Eso will soon be like Square Enix because Zenimax Online Studios is learning from mistake and improve from bad experience. Again, give ESO 3 years and see challenge and fun how Zenimax Online Studios will make it be

Part of what made FF:XIV’s success story was the sheer amount of resources and talent SE has at their fingertips. This is NOT something you just ‘do’. We should simply be thankful games like GW2, ESO, and FFXIV even exist, let alone what can be done to improve these games vs development time, bug patching, art team development, etc.

Fan boy level over 9000.

kitten level is rising.
