That’s funny, I was playing against them for a while earlier and they were running solo almost the entire time even though we were outnumbering them (GH+DeX + assorted puggies)
And not because there was no other SFR group on that BL.

I got 3 lvl 80 rares and 2 cores earlier.
I’m not complaining.

To be honest, i even like getting lower level mats at times, it means that when i level my crafting skills, i dont have to buy everything, and in saving for my legendary i also won’t have as much of the lower level mats i’ll ahve to buy or try to go farm in PvE

I made 3g tonight… I haven’t made that much in playing WvW with non-guildies in a long long time…. <3

Haven’t seen MOS yet, but I’m sure I’d lag against them too.

I’ve also had lag:
- running from base to bluevale while fighting is happening in Bay
- standing around looking pretty while there’s fighting going on “somewhere”

A friend pointed out to me that even when guilds usually prefer to run as just them, with maybe a puggy or 2, other guilds tend to stick to them because “OMGWEKILLEDRG”
I’ve seen more guilds run solo, it just doesn’t really seem to happen on the ZDs or RG borders.

Always love nice friendly conversations in T1 topics. They wasn’t changed since first months.
In the meantime, I (and not just me), waiting patiently russian localization and russian national server. New server on the BT model with good old Xaoc-style “morning hammer”, restored system of morning-daytime shifts, and evening with a strong coordinated “tidal zergs” and raiding guilds, without the old shortcomings as fatigue due to lack of motivated recruits. This would help bring some new challenge into T1 and shake the French monopoly.
But in any case this does not happen in foreseeable future. Lazy Anet. sigh

Hmmm, old Blacktide vs new SFR…. would be some scheduling conflicts because of RG though, but the primetime fights would be madness

seriously everywhere i go i counter SFR zerg of 40+. You guys are like ants no joke. The only reason why you guys are winning because of sheer numbers nothing more. Desolation has the best quality pvp players in EU server. When it comes down to small skirmishers (5-10 ppl), Deso wins 90% of the times. If we have half of SFR, we will be spawn camping both SFR and Viz at the same time. Until we get numbers we will lose the score but not the war.

In 5 vs 5 you will pick utility’s like
bull charge / frenzy/signet of rage for warrior
shadowstep / basilik for thief … etc
why would i use banner regeneration for warrior, why would i use hp on rally
Why would i use steal grant " might/fury and swiftnes to ally’s
why would i use Heal on dodge ?
And for real why on earth i would pick traits like increase revive speed.
symbols on guardian? (for 5 players ? ) nah
in 30 or 70 or 100 pvp , your bull charge /basilik/ signet of rage will matter 0
and “the most skilled player (in 5 vs 5)” will be another sheep on the map

You have to admit you’re not going to use the same utilities as you would in an organised group fight, different situations call for different builds.
I run around with the same utilities, but then again, i’m lazy and don’t go running looking for small-scale fights, I like my monster smashes.

In 1v1 situations i tend to use frenzy, bull charge more. Signet of rage is good for zerging but i will chose Battle stand in small scale battles. i will always use Shadow step on my thief no matter if its 1v1 or 5v5 or 5v50. I agree, it just depends on the situation.

So you agree that people you meet in small scale have a high chance of not having the appropriate skills for small scale equipped?

I once almost killed an ele one-on-one… and then he realised “oh kitten, i’m losing to a bad Ranger” and killed me horribly. :p

But that’s their point really, while I’m sure there are some SFR geared and slotted towards small play, you’re not going to bump into them all the time, and it is more likely in general to meet people heading to group fights of some kind because they just zoned in, got left behind for some reason, died, etc.

It’s a sad sad day when I’m laughing my kitten off at SFR troll posts (in a good way, here :p)…. I blame the lack of sleep and boring uni work

So because they have cookiecutter builds, you’re forced to use them? There are people who play those classes, who don’t use the cookiecutter builds, but instead play how they like, and still do well…. And not because they’re doing fotm.
You can’t say people have no honor and pride because they play a class which happens to have cookiecutter builds. Having less respect for people depending on what class they play is extremely…. silly.
You don’t know anything about them, why they chose that class, they might play a thief in every single game, including in games where they are horribly underpowered because it is simply a playstyle they love, for example

And you’re right, I’m sorry, i actually got attacked by a Ranger pet earlier against SFR and there were 2 Rangers running along on our side… So that makes 4 Rangers in the BL \o/

Edit: I’m also talking WvW, i don’t care about PvE, got my legendary, now glhf PvE.
From my experience, Necros are common as dirt, and I see more Engineers than Rangers.

Not jsut between guilds, also between guilds and puggies.
While IRON (have to give you credit for that one :p), GH, and… DeX i think it was communicate, let people know what they’re doing/wehre they’re going and why, I’ve ran with some other guilds in borderlands where the only communication was some guild advertisement, and the occasional little puggy trying to warn people.
I was following the magnet, but kitten if i knew where we were going/what we were doing.
Well, i could guess some, not really advanced tactics.

Sure, maybe they were on a TS (i’d hope so), but they didn’t invite anyone else to it, the commanders didn’t speak to the zone, and didn’t have anyone speak for them in case they’re simply too busy/bad at multitasking.

It’s important to have a good working relationship with the other commanders on your server, so you know they will come to your aid when you need it, and so they won’t suddenly go “who the kitten is this guy?” when you, a newbie commander, appear with a tag.

If your server has forums, go there to introduce yourself, and give people a chance to get to know you that way before you go into commander mode.

People should go in the Desolation area of EB some more… “Oh, hey, we have all the usual there, means we have people doing kitten to keep it that way…. Or not.”

Just so you know, RG didn’t really have a raid out tonight. Sacrx wasn’t online, so although a few players went out and played a bit, but there wasn’t really anything official going on. Our guild [SCCC] yesterday merged with Jump to Victory [JV]. We are both international guilds. I am our WvWvW officer (not a commander, I am like 90 gold short of that). Recruiting is on. I want to build a 5-man roaming team, which does daily WvWvW. Any profession is welcome, but I am particularly looking for other engineers and necromancers. I want to show people a way to play the least used professions.

I was told there were a grand total of 5 RG playing together. (Tried to get them to switch borders since i wanted to see GH vs RG myself. I like GH <3)

If you want least used professions, surprised you didn’t mention Rangers, a friend joked once i was easily recognisable because there’s about 2 Rangers in the entire BL, and that’s generally what I see as well :p

Since pretty much every Vizu player believes that everybody hates them, i of course had to adress that for my particular case.

You base “expected to be played” on that information? Feels more like “I meant to do that! Really!” than a thought-out decision.
Don’t get me wrong, i’m ex-Blacktide, of course i like the 24/7 system, but if they expected WvW to be like this they would’ve managed to find a way to make more money on it, and WvW would’ve gotten more attention.

Expected to be played? Please, everything points towards ANet thinking WvW wouldn’t be very popular or big, i think it was even stated properly somewhere in the beginning of the game.

ANet didn’t expect jack kitten from WvW and got an unpleasant surprise when a large group of dedicated people from all over the world made it their sole occupation in this game.

If you’ve noticed, I haven’t blamed any server for anything, I’ve even been relatively nice to Vizu (granted, I think the only people I haven’t been nice to so far are on my own server) so don’t make sweeping accusations of “everybody hates us” when it’s not true.

Maybe not, it’s not like i give a kitten about a bunch of things some people here do, but I’m almost becoming surprised none of the VS commanders has made a post like that American commander did quite some time ago:
“Omg ANet it’s your fault i prioritise this game over anything else”
Some people called it dedication, luckily other people realised he was simply a kittening idiot who should probably get help with addiction.

Don’t be silly, you can’t claim lack of dedication simply because people don’t work in the same way as you.

Oh please, tons of servers have “manipulated” the ratings, letting other servers get higher scores for the sake of keeping certain servers out of a tier, or focusing on servers in certain ways to make sure another server comes up.

It’s hardly something new, but now Vizu does it and people throw a fit over it?

Note it’s other people saying the server will collapse, not the guilds who left.

They won’t tell us how many because we could manipulate it. And I think they probably would count.

I think there were a fair amount of votes also in the first week, when they sneak-fixed whatever the problems were with the population, it also made culling a bit better.
I voted worse, and it still is, just not as bad as at start.

I don’t know, I always figured it’s better to question and get clarification, than be stuck with a bad impression and have no urge to play because of this, losing out on something which could potentially be amazing fun.

On the official forums he’s also going to get more viewpoints, there’s a higher likelihood of being attacked on guild forums, and new people often are unaware of server forums because, hey, they’re new. And ingame… It’s perfectly normal somebody wouldnt feel comfortable approaching somebody he got a bad first impression of.
