Magic find infusion (in any armor slot gear that is not MF gear) that you could buy with laurels(and/or other currency).
You could apply it to any armor that does not have the MF stat. ie travelers etc
Laurel(or other currency*) MF Armor Supplement
Laurel MF Weapon Supplement*
Laurel MF Accessory Supplement*
So there you have it, buy the items with gold, karma, dungeon relics, laurels maybe a combo of those. Everyone keeps their good gear and runes, and gets to work towards an MF upgrade for every piece of gear. Making them destroyed upon salvaging, and a non removable upgrade = money/karma etc sink, and a continual profit for crafters.
You could however add an infusion spot on MF gear for coin/xp and only coin/XP maybe even karma. So your sacrificing stats again in PVE but you are gaining other economy boosts. Since regular gear can only slot MF they would miss out on coin/xp/karma bonus.
This would make the MF gear a great set for leveling/farming and still make it viable

Although I have two sets of exotics, one with MF, and I do not use my MF gear when running dungeons or fractals I do take offense at calling people that do selfish. Think about this carefully. You want people to wear optimal gear so you can complete a dungeon run as fast as possible so you have time to do it again. We have people insisting only zerker gear be used on these runs, we have people requiring gear checks and denying anyone with magic find.
These people are being just as selfish as those that want to wear mf gear. They want it their way or the highway and I would run a dungeon with somebody that wished to wear their mf gear over elitist snobs like that any day of the week because in the end it is about the other persons enjoyment of the game and I do not, nor does anyone else, have the right to dictate how other people enjoy their game. If it takes longer to run the dungeon so what? As long as everyone enjoys the game in the manner they want to. Only those with their own selfish agendas would insist everyone be outfitted the way they are.
Those “gearcentric” people are by far the more selfish people.
And your statement can easily be turned around against MF as well.
“in the end it is about the other persons enjoyment of the game” except when someone runs MF they aren’t thinking about the other persons’ enjoyment, they’re thinking about themselves. They’re wasting their groupmates’ time, which for most people is not enjoyable.Who died and put you in charge of deciding who is wasting the group’s time, and what isn’t most enjoyable for “most”?
Well, math is in charge of the first one, as less damage with no tradeoff benefit means runs take longer, and since only the user benefits from the increase in time spent, the others are having their time spent without compensation i.e. wasted.
As for the second, you don’t know humanity very well if you don’t know people get annoyed when their time is wasted by someone else.I know that this may sound strange to you, but not “most” people want to clear a dungeon as fast as possible.
Some prefer to have fun, and get the most out of a single dungeon run.
Totally agree, most times those who rushed through the content are the ones qq’ing about being bored and quit the game.

I love seeing “wasting time” in a video game where essentially, all you do the moment you log in is “waste time” in real life. Why not take that hardcore efficiency to the real world and just stop playing? You could be so much more efficient if your time wasn’t “wasted” on playing a silly game that benefits no one but you. But wait, I can’t really tell you how to run your life, because you will live however you want right? So why should you impose your opinion on others in a game? Your playstyle hinders others just as much as theirs does yours, this is not a single player game.
I can’t wait for something to be implemented so that everyone stops all the nonsense arguing and bickering :P
People, for the love of kittens paste the “share” link from youtube, not the web address. Your making our forum “fat”.
I wonder if all these people complaining about MF wearers would still complain if they knew the MF gear was part of the reason why ectos are 20s,
Strange I thought it was all the guaranteed rares from World Events that have nothing at all to do with MF.
Hence the “part”…part of the statement. But I toss in 20-35 ectos a day from farming and have gotten just as many rares in dungeon (non chest) runs. (Thats never doing event chests) But hey, MF is useless and selfish right? It definitely helps NO ONE in the greater scheme of things. Right?
Quite simply: MF is the only non-combat-related stat that is on gear. In terms of combat, it can never match up. Defensive stats keep you alive so you can deal more damage over time. Offensive stats kill enemies faster so they deal less total damage to you. Bad.
The only place MF is balanced is in solo play where killing enemies slower is a trade-off for getting better loot. However since most of your damage and survivability comes from your base stats/weapon dmg/armor, it is definitely a better trade-off to use MF gear in solo play. So this forces people to use MF gear in solo play for best results. Bad.
All arguments based on skill being more important than gear stats here are void. Yes I agree that skill is more important. However we are looking at this purely from a gear standpoint, where skill is NOT a variable. Unless there is a correlation between skill level and tendency to use MF gear, which there isn’t so far, one should not consider skill level in this argument. For proper comparison, ALL non-MF variables must be considered equal, and that includes skill level.
And can someone point me now that better loot? Cause 97% of players skip half the dungeon and ALL farming spots have been NERFED. So where is that better loot?
I wonder if all these people complaining about MF wearers would still complain if they knew the MF gear was part of the reason why ectos are 20s, and t5/t6 mats are cheaper, so that they can afford their legendarys and make great gear for cheaper.
So everyone who “chose” to wear MF gear did so SOLELY because they clearly WANTED to be less useful? Ah yes, and there is the explanation for 90% of this thread. People in MF “chose” to kitten over everyone else who is in better stat gear. Every.. single.. person. So from this I take that everyone hates MF wearers not because of the loss of stat, but more so because they do it ON PURPOSE to mess with people.
That’s EXACTLY the problem, the are doing exactly what you are saying here.
And I will continue to watch zerker builds and people with legendary’s get downed while I am in full exotic MF and using skill instead of relying on my gear to save me. And I’ll continue raising all those hardcore DPS’ers in my farming area with my full MF on because they think their silly 3rd stats counters their lack of skill.
So all Zerker users are better players, is that it?
Because I have some news for you: the skill of MF users follows the same pattern as anything else: there are good players, average players, bad players. Except the MF user will perform worse than someone with the same skill but better gear.

“Because I have some news for you: the skill of MF users follows the same pattern as anything else: there are good players, average players, bad players.”
You were so close until…
“Except the MF user will perform worse than someone with the same skill but better gear.”
You were in the “We NEED DPS meters!” Thread weren’t you.
If a skilled player is in MF and lacking stats, and they are good at dungeons, then they should be rewarded for such.
And this is the reason why you can’t understand why people have a problem with it.
The person should NOT be rewarded for it. They are making their group worse, on purpose, for better drops. They do not in any way deserve to get more/better rewards for doing so.
Unless the group agreed to all run MF, since that means they’re fine with it being harder for better rewards. So then anyone with less than Ascended gear is essentially doing the same. They too lack stats, much lower in fact if they are in greens. So they are being selfish too, because they haven’t got the money or time to get ascended or exotic gear to live up to your standards. I see the logic now. Everyone should run in Exotic or better gear, or you are leeching, because stat wise you aren’t contributing as much as someone with better gear/traits/ping.
Did they choose not to have the time to do fractals? Did they choose not to have enough money for exotics?
Did a MF user choose to take demonstrably terrible stats instead of something useful and then went into a group, where the only one who sees any benefit whatsoever from the terrible stats is himself?People in MF gear in a party chose to be less useful for their own personal benefit, and such a person does not deserve better drops at the cost of their group.

I suppose I could say the same for those who don’t all go knights which would keep them alive longer allowing them to be more skillful. Did you ever think they got the gear because they need money, and not because in your mind everyone is out to get you who wears MF gear?
You want to know what selfish really means in GW2? Expecting others to play your way and allowing for no other forms of play or opinion.
No, they knowingly made themselves worse because they were only thinking about THEMSELVES. Their only concern when stacking MF is their OWN drops, never mind the group. They joined a group to get the benefits of being in a group, and then chose to contribute less in order to get more.
I take it you are using all group traits and group style runes and group food then and skills? And definitely not the selfish zerker gear that gets you downed so that players have to stop and raise you.

Oh and people in ascended MF gear, also leeching, and bad.
And lets not forget those people who have MF boosts and are in non MF green/rare gear. Them guys are leeching too, because they have the same stats as you but have extra MF! How unfair is that! Lets kick them too. They are obviously there just for themselves, why can’t they eat group food, or give group buffs? Selfish I tell you, just selfish they are.
(edited by Geotherma.2395)
MF gear does not mean someone in your party is leeching off you. Yes they may have lesser stats, but they are not making 10X the gold you are. Most times MF gear is cheaper, and perhaps that is all they could afford. Did anyone even stop to think maybe the MF gear they are wearing is to support them so they can get better gear? Probably not, because everyone is too busy yelling at each other for being selfish. The argument that MF gear wearers are lesser than others is just elitists. It starts with "stop wearing crap MF gear, and ends up with “You don’t have exotics on?” ::Kick::
The reason people are arguing against the hate towards MF gear is not because they do not know their stats are lower, they are arguing because they know falling in line “here” means falling in line when (“You don’t have exotics on?” ::Kick::) happens. It all starts somewhere. The only person leeching in a group who has MF gear is the MF wearer who has no want or desire to learn their skills and the dungeons. Those are the ones you should be directing this whole off topic thread at. But no, most everyone is just tossing into a group of “bad” anyone who doesn’t wear non MF gear. Maybe you all need to take a breather and realize how very little gear matters in this game. You can sit here and argue with each other all day and accomplish nothing from it.
MF wearers could be trying to support themselves with that gear and/or maybe thats all they could get. Instead of throwing insults at everyone who mentions they wear MF gear, maybe you should save them for in game when you find players who REALLY ARE leeching. Because I find that berserker geared people can leech just as much when they are dying in 5 seconds, or have no skill.
You need to direct your frustrations towards lazy people, who can be in ANY gear. Otherwise you just sound like your jealous they have “mad loots”, and you don’t and they are leeching. If a skilled player is in MF and lacking stats, and they are good at dungeons, then they should be rewarded for such. Someday they may get new gear and be even better with stats, because the first important thing in this game is skill. Your gear type only helps to achieve balance for your skill and direction, it does not define who a person is.
This is not WoW, this is not Aion, this is not EVE. Spend more time constructively understanding the problems we have in game, and stop AOE’ing everyone with insults just because they have a different idea or opinion than you. I’ve seen more bickering and name calling on forums than in most teen drama shows… I’ve uploaded something that will get everyone back in the right mindset so that future generations do not have to see how very rude and destructive everyone is.
I was bored so I calculated the percentages of tiers of loot dropping based on OP’s data.
% chance of T6-10.73%
% chance of T5-35.95%
% chance of Trash-52.06%
% chance of other-1.26%The ‘other’ group obviously relates to the prefix on the bag opened(like lodestones from miner’s etc..).
The ‘trash’ group is named thus because of the negligible relative values because they are so common and found elsewhere, it includes T5&6 silk and leather.I know the numbers probably seem skewed but that is because we don’t have data on how many of each came from every bag. Considering DR kicks in after as little as 30 minutes I wonder if we can extract the intended rate of attainment of this stuff that Anet planned for us? Maybe that info would alleviate some of the whining over legendary weapon difficulty and other general loot concerns.
I would have done those “every bag” info but that would have cause me to lose my hand/arm :P I do have the video recorded but it is very..very… long and thats like a week of watching and pausing at the fastest possible lol
I just blew all my gold on the dance book. I regret nothing!!!

Cant block Wayfarer/Traveler/Explorer sets from this “imbuement” because they already give up an additional stat to have the magicfind. So “imbueing” them with more MF would be the only bonus to having those sets now. (Otherwise everyone just rolls with Imbued Zerker Gear.)
Better yet, just leave it as-is.
But they have said that it is not going as intended, so maybe this is the way to finally get out of the MF hate players have. And tossing MF onto MF gear would be OP, people would run around with 400-500 MF..
You could however add an infusion spot on MF gear for coin/xp and only coin/XP maybe even karma. So your sacrificing stats again in PVE but you are gaining other economy boosts. Since regular gear can only slot MF they would miss out on coin/xp/karma bonus. Idk if this is the best option but just replying to your observation with a suggestion.
This would make the MF gear a great set for leveling/farming and still make it viable.
(edited by Geotherma.2395)
OP, looked at your post (skimmed 50,000 dungeon tokens for it….. while50k karma?… do you have any idea how long it takes to get 1 k tokens?) All in all I like the idea, but I am not Anet. I think Anet will not like this idea because it will be available to everyplayer (opposed to just catering to a specific set of players right now), increasing the amount of gold into the game and ultimately undermining their gold sinks.
Sorry, like I said the prices are just examples I can make it a smaller number just to make it not so scary :P
It would actually be sinks for dungeon tokens (something many people complain there isn’t much use for after you get a set), gold from the crafted ones, karma, and laurels. Anet seems to want to make several ways for people to “afford” items in game, so I think the idea of allowing players to purchase these with various means follows their pattern. If you want another sink, they could simply introduce 1 and 6 pack “imbuement” boosters on the gems store for an equivalent price of the crafted/laurels etc. Then players could spend gems or trade gold to gems for a 125(one)/600(6) gem purchase (just an example of price), and this would also be account bound. Some people might see that as a stat-pay to win scenario, but just an idea. As long as the gem price was as fair as the gold/karma/laurel price.

How do you see your MS in GW2 from their server?
You don’t, just use ping from the cmd on the gw2 server.
In Aion you could just type /ping, how do you do this in GW2 I’ve seen lots of threads asking for a /ping command so just curious.
Not in this game, not now. It is astounding that they haven’t added that command from the start, but the fact that it still isn’t on…
Well that’s what I was wondering, how you got an accurate MS from the game ^^ I mean I can ping a random server but I don’t think it is a good determining factor as far as knowing your ping in GW2. I’m a computer tech, but admittedly terrible with the networking side :P I like game ping because you can see if the lag is web based or computer based usually.
Using /ping would be the same as the cmd command, truly, as long as it is the server you are on. By the way, how much would a couple of low capacity servers cost, for example, some regional servers for pvp?
I would guess upwards of $500 for a server($2000+ for less laggy ones). I think MMO servers are actually a series of servers possibly a series even for just 1 “game server”. But a networking person would probably have a better idea :P
Well what the hell, then it IS a worthy investment. Why don’t they do it, why don’t they promote the game in other countries, they would get INDEED more winnings at the end. My entire guild has left the game because of the delay in PvP If they had stayed, how many people would they have invited into it?
Why the hell don’t they do it?!?!
MMO servers are much higher priced I imagine.. Players can buy tournament(?) time or space and host on special servers using Gems “soon”. At least thats what i think they said, I’d have to see the post again I don’t sPvP much. Also other country’s have various laws and expenses as far as using servers and playing the game. Even beyond that, some aspects of the game are not vetted for other country’s so a country could be offended by somethings name or look in game (see cantha). I “think” there is a Chinese beta, but different servers. Also people connecting to a US server from far away would experience epic lag based on location. It is possible all that could happen one day though, never know.
“How we deal with real-money traders
To help protect the Guild Wars community from the problems caused by real-money trading, we aggressively pursue these companies and try to stop them from abusing our players and the game. Listed below are some of the measures we take to protect Guild Wars players from the abuses of real-money trading companies.
We identify and ban accounts—typically more than 5,000 per week—being used by real-money trading companies.
We attempt to identify stolen accounts and return them to their rightful owners.
Our GMs monitor the game around the clock so they can remove botters and spammers from the game, often within hours of account creation.
When we detect a large amount of abuse from a single Internet address (IP address), we block that address from accessing the game.
We block open proxies (open Internet servers which can relay traffic from anywhere in the world) from accessing the game.
We identify players who purchase gold from real-money trading companies, and we suspend their accounts and remove the purchased gold. We also encourage these players to seek restitution from their credit card company. Real-money trading companies are not legally authorized to sell Guild Wars gold. They don’t own the gold — ArenaNet does. Credit card companies know this, so buyers of gold can generally call their credit card companies and get the charges removed."
http://www.guildwars.com/support/rmt/rmt-en.php
“It is our goal to provide an enjoyable experience to every Guild Wars player. That’s why we take the topic of real-money trading (buying and selling gold or in-game items for real-world money) very seriously. Every week, we ban thousands of accounts used by real-money trading companies, because those companies harm the game for other players by running large networks of bots to farm gold and items, spamming chat channels with their advertisements, and even attempting to steal login credentials from unsuspecting players.”
“In the interests of keeping things pleasant for the majority of players, we’ve set up a system to deal with lapses in behavior. We think you’ll find the system is fair, balanced, and reasonable.
The system involves two types of administrative action: temporary account suspensions and permanent account terminations. Those who fail to observe the Rules of Conduct usually will have an administrative “mark” placed on their Guild Wars 2 account that results in a temporary account suspension. However, in the case of an extreme breach-such as using a game exploit, attempting to hack the servers, or acquiring a large number of marks and moving into a “frequent violation” status-the account will be permanently closed.
When an account is temporarily suspended, the player is unable to access his account for a specific period of time. Under normal circumstances, a player can clear marks from his/her account and eliminate the risk of lengthy suspension simply by obeying the Rules of Conduct. On the other hand, if a player accrues another mark on his account within a relatively short period of time, the subsequent suspension will be longer. A record is retained
of each player’s complete account history, and accounts that are frequently involved in violations of the Rules of Conduct and/or the Guild Wars 2 User Agreement (the “User Agreement”) are subject to termination.”
“The following will result in either a temporary account suspension or permanent account termination, depending upon the severity of the matter:
Selling or buying a Guild Wars 2 account, in-game item, service or gold for real-world currency in a manner not authorized by Guild Wars 2 and us; selling a Guild Wars 2 account for in-game currency; aiding others in such transactions, or advertising the intent to commit such acts
Selling or buying Guild Wars 2 or account related services of any kind for real-world currency in a manner not authorized by Guild Wars 2 and us”
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/legal/guild-wars-2-conduct-breaches-outcomes/
Maybe I should have made a tldr :P
tldr:
I would prefer to have imbued MF on my DPS gear and run it all the time than put on my MF gear and kitten my char. Just make impossible to imbue Traveler/Explorer/Wayfarer so that people don’t start abusing it. You would have to increase the value of the infusions since my current gear has about 120MF without the weapons. Make it 10MF max per piece. 6 armor + 6 trinkets = 120MF.
You restated my exact idea :P
" Just make impossible to imbue Traveler/Explorer/Wayfarer"
^ Also in my post
But I see your point on the stats, I was trying to compare it to the maxed sets but wanted to just post finally lol I think they could (or we could suggest) amounts that would make them on par with what an MF gear person would have.
This wouldnt cause people to stop using MF gear, it would just cause them to stack more of it. Unless you mean to actually eliminate the Traveler/Explorer/Wayfarer stat sets and have this the only way to apply MF to gear.
No, like I said the only gear that would have this ability to be infused would be non MF gear. So people could chose to have MF gear or regular gear with the bonus. It would be their choice to use laurels(or other currency) and keep stats, or simply buy the MF gear in lieu of spending laurels/dungeon tokens etc.
Since I “think” people craft the MF gear, their replacement for the possible loss to this idea would be the recipe to make 1%,2%,3%,4%,5% items with mats that kept the cost of them on TP on par with what anet feels 1 laurel 5 laurels etc would be in gold. Like mats would cost 3g if bought (less if farmed), and sold for 5g for a 5% upgrade (1 piece). The price is just an example, I don’t know what they would see as fair. But it should be challenging so that its on par with laurels dungeon tokens etc.
So in theory someone could obtain these upgrade items from:
Dungeon Tokens
Gold (a pricey amount but fair) through crafters possibly jeweler/artificer
Karma
Laurels
Maybe even story completion
etc.
But the only ones that are not account bound would be the crafted.

I added my suggestion over in the suggestion forums https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Magic-find-Fix-Suggestion/first#post1976589 since this thread went south so fast :P
I like farming with my thief who has no MF gear because i find it more fun tactic wise, I wonder what my drops would be like if I could keep my stats and still have 130+ MF.
Allow gear to be ‘Imbued’ with Magic Find, Gold Find, XP bonus or Karma.
Make it separate from runes/infusions/utility slots.
Problem solved, depth added for all levels/playstyles.
But of course, rewards for achievement points …. heck I wouldn’t turn down that either!
That’s basically what i meant, I just don’t know the best term for it :P
As long as that extra slot isn’t for stats like VIT etc which would cause balancing issues, I think it would be fine. You can see what I mean in the pic I uploaded. MF/GOLD/XP would be fine too, but maybe limit it to 1 of those per piece so that it would balance nicely without being OP and affecting the economy. Because any change like this has to take into consideration if someone already has banners/buffs/food etc on, if they would be effectively MF OP in a way, or to a point where there was a cap.

I try to do this a few times a week, not in town though cause the game is really finicky on space of where you can put so many buffs :P

The last 3 pages are exactly why devs don’t respond to posts and good suggestions get lost in the abyss of the suggestion forums. People will rally together for a fix in 1 thread, then spend 3 pages arguing among themselves making the thread less constructive and no longer worth paying attention to. You are defeating your own purposes here, so when no answer is found to this problem blame yourselves. There is a +1 button for a reason, so that people don’t go off on a tangent why my shiny toy is better than your shiny toy. Vote the good ideas, leave the not so good ones. You are accomplishing nothing with all this back and forth bickering.
Well I’m not sure what would work best, but I had a few ideas.
Magic find infusion (in any armor slot gear) that you could buy with laurels. You could apply it to any armor that does not have the MF stat. So you would keep your dungeon/pve/wvw etc gear and be able to add the MF attribute to it.
The following would be items, like runes but different of course.
1 Laurel = 1% MF x6 armor pieces =6% MF (Total cost 6 Laurels)
2 Laurels = 2% MF x6 armor pieces = 12% MF (Total cost 12 Laurels)
3 laurels = 3% MF x6 armor pieces = 18% MF (Total cost 18 Laurels)
4 Laurels = 4% MF x6 armor pieces = 24% MF (Total cost 24 Laurels)
5 Laurels = 5% MF x6 armor pieces = 30% MF (Total cost of 30 Laurels)
They would work like upgrades but they would add the MF stat to the gear (possibly just showing the added stat below basic stats) and not be able to be reused. This would allow it so that people would of course upon upgrading gear would have to work to get those MF bonus items with laurels rather than just be another easy win.
So you can see in 1 month you could deck out your characters armor with 30% mf. You could deck out a set every month for a different character, and if you upgrade a piece it would be cheap to add that 5 laurel upgrade to that 1 piece of gear.
Could call them supplements, upgrades, whatever. People with regular MF gear would possibly migrate to trying out other gears now that they aren’t bound to MF, allowing them to experience different trait lines and tactics which was the devs purpose for gear.
Could go farther with this, make them equal to accessory MF %’s, I forget the amounts.
Laurel MF Armor Supplement
Laurel MF Weapon Supplement
Laurel MF Accessory Supplement
But since I know people really want to have more than one way, could make these available from Dungeon tokens (obvious right?:P), karma or other currencys, all with their own costs that would be fair. Not sure what that is myself, but I’m sure they could figure that out.
Just an example, don’t rage on the prices lol:
5 Laurels = 1 Armor Supplement (1 piece of gear upgrade)
50,000 Karma = 1 Armor Supplement ^
5,000 Dungeon relics/tokens/etc = 1 Armor Supplement
etc etc
And to top it all off to help crafters not get burned, toss a MF Supplement recipe in the forge and into Artificer/Jeweler? So that they can make money from those who may not be buying MF gear anymore.
What you think?

How do you see your MS in GW2 from their server?
Well for those of us that made a fair share of gold using this, had bothered to spend 2 mins on downloading rscilent for autoclick at 0,1 millisecond, kinda speeds it up.
eitherway with rise most of us already left this due to the fees you have on postings(which most people wont take in count) so now the bags will rise even more and have zero profit for anyone, So OP you got a lot of bags you wish to sell for a good price in bank and wanted a rise of prices?
Nope (see my BLSK vs MSK thread), I seen people saying that they did not know whether to sell bags or open. By supplying an idea of what drops and the costs people can make better informed decisions. I’m not here to play the TP, I bought every one of those bags just for this purpose, not to make money. I did the same with MSK’s full knowing that my end result would mean i was losing tons of gold just to help the community see that BLSK had a better drop rate for ectos. Whether is rises or falls is not up to me, it will equal out again. But now people can have an idea of what they should do with their farmed bags, and know what they are potentially losing/gaining from either course of action. As always i try to keep my research as unbiased as possible. PS I sold all the mats just minutes after opening at lowest price, I don’t care much about gold, that is the easy part.

What you think?
Jandus, as I wrote earlier it is impossible for me alone to gather enough date. It’s a hunch. I wish it was possible for me to proof it, but unfortunately I don’t have access to the data needed. Needless to say I still consider it fishy. Off-topic: I agree, the British education system is horrible. The lectures I followed the past year were absolutely horrible.
Hawkian, at that point I would drop it. I will just have to assume they speak the truth (which would be plausible considering their track record). Especially since I can’t generate enough data myself to investigate this an further.
Amfibija, positive reinforcement. People buy something in the Gem Store with real money and are ‘rewarded’ with an hidden increase in Magic Find, resulting in ‘better’ drops. These signals are positively stored together and the act of buying something in the Gem Store with real money is reinforced.
Geotherma, of course this doesn’t sound plausible. However, I remember reading an article about an MMO were system players had more agro and this was proven by the community after a few months. In the end it got fixed. Perhaps this hidden Magic Find gain is similar to the issue I described?
I can say that I probably spend far more than most people in game on gems. Probably an alarming amount, and yet I’ve never seen a precursor or epic exotic drops. Anything that drops well for me is from hard work and farming. I haven’t found any statements where devs confirmed there is no connection between gems purchases, or DDE accounts etc, but I’m sure they are out there.
I mean if people really want to poke at conspiracy’s, then I could easily say my 5 fused tickets, farming gains per hour, rare drops, and the ability to give others uncanny luck in my groups is directly related to the fact that my account is 1 number different than Colin Johanson.
Anyone can make a conspiracy, and those who find themselves on the receiving end of bad luck tend to want to blame someone/something. Arenanet is the easiest and closest target for them. Rather than use logic and common sense people jump to what they are scared of, what they truly hope isn’t true, because they find solace in the fact they could be right-and people really are out to get them. But that’s an entirely different psychological discussion.
If it is researched on the server you are guesting to you can activate the bounty. You have to activate the bounty on the server the bounty mission was started on.
Ah this makes sense.. So even though I have those opened on my server and have influence, I’m actually at 0 influence / 0 upgrades on the guested server just like transferring..
I did activate the bounty on the guest server, but seems that it doesn’t recognize it because technically I have no tiers opened there. Well at least it was only a training bounty, that was why I wanted to test it. But it makes sense, even if it would be cool to go to other servers and get help with bounty’s on more populated servers.
I did read up on GW2. Nowhere did it mention that 5 man dungeons would be mandatory to complete the storylines.
And nowhere did it mention that you would be able to solo every single thing in the game either.
No, but you could solo everything in GW1. So…as stated previously….why should GW2 be any different in that regard?
I didn’t buy this game expecting a WoW clone but it seems Anet is turning it into one.
Because GW1 meant to be (and is) CORPG, and GW2 is MMORPG (and suposed to be from beggining). More than that – I’m sure I’ve seen it dozen times in some of the Anet blogging and stuff, that they treat it as normal MMO – party for dungeon, preparation before adventure and NO HEROES & HENCH etc.
And did You ever played WoW to call GW2 WoW clone? In terms of differences between MMOs, GW2 is quite far from WoW. But hey – You’re comparing CORPG to MMORPG, so why not to talk about Baldurs Gate? That was fun game – and no one ever stated that GW2 will not be Baldurs clone… and it isn’t! – how could they?!
Not that I’m defending GW2, because I find a lot of irritating stuff in the game lately, but there are holes in Your logic (each) bigger than my ego. But I agree that nowhere was stated that all dungeons will be 5 and only 5 people team stuff. But that is different story.Hmm. This is the second thread in a row to use the term ‘CORPG’, and again, no clue what it stands for…nor am I sure why you’re making a distinction, as both are massive, multiplayer games. And as for comparing? I’d think that perpetrating a play mechanic made most identifyible by WoW, and that endless games copy badly only both ‘Because WoW does it’ and their player base complains that otherwise it’s not enough like WoW would be explanation enough. Especially when this construct is placed in a game that has little need for it due to many, many other mechanics designed to encourage playing alongside and together with other players without needing it, and instead of being properly encapsulated as separate gameplay as it’s predecessor did, is used as a big fat roadblock to completion of content that has had no need of it in any way, shape or form for the entire rest of the storyline?

http://acronyms.thefreedictionary.com/CORPGThe other note about dungeons:
“Yeah graveyard zerg and some bosses having a few balance issues (or needing more varied skills at various health percentages so they are fun to fight for their large health pools) are absolutely things on our radar. Make sure to note specific locations/bosses when leaving feedback on the forums!
As for the question about PuG’s for explorable dungeons, we’ve said all along that explorable dungeons are intended for highly organized/skilled groups of players. That is absolutely the case”
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/dungeons/Do-NOT-nerf-please/first#post126835Funny, I always thought that coRPG meand cooperative
. Silly, me. But still, I remember wrong, but got right idea
.
Don’t feel bad, 10+ years of playing MMO’s never seen that term till GW2 forums :P Looked it up months ago lol
Can you guest and activate a bounty on the guested server and achieve points/influence? I tried looking for this answer but can’t find. I was guesting on a server and was curious so I tried activating a training bounty and found the NPC. I went to her to activate and she did not change to aggressive.
Yes I have permissions.
Yes I was in the time frame.
Yes it was the right bounty target, with no special activation rules etc.
NSP seems empty, not just in towns but everywhere.. I tried guesting today for the first time, and I have never seen so many people (TC server) on my server as I did on the server I guested.. Kinda makes me question if I made too quick a choice when starting the game.
Just a quick tip about magic find: you can achieve a lot of magic find without gear, and therefore isn’t all that bad.
Omnomberry Bar 30% MF – 40% Gold – +10XP
Guild Buff 10% MF
Guild Buff 5% XP
Guild Banner 5% XP
Guild Banner 10% MF
Magic Find Booster 50% MF or MF Bonfire
Experience Booster 50% XP
Laurel Coin Booster 30% Gold
Laurel MF Booster 30% MF
Laurel XP Booster 30% XP
130% MF
70% Gold
90% XP
+10 Xp
But you can get up to 327 MF with gear and buffs combined.
This was a wonderful journey, I’m glad i could be here to experience it all with you. Was like watching a piano fall on a toons head in slow motion, with the wonky noise and everything.
I dont share this comp with anyone, nobody else is here, I live alone so the only way an outside source would be able to do it would be to use malware and as I’ve said repeatedly, my comp is clean.
Malware is not the only thing that can take your info.. You can get keyloggers on websites, you can get phished on websites by logging in or using your info other places. No one in this forum (which is the wrong forum btw) can help you. Only Anet can through a support ticket. After no response you can then after 3 days post on support forums for help. But saying Anet stole your goodies sounds unlikely to be what really happened. Either way you should change your password, possibly for your email as well. Or not, up to you.
Maybe they weren’t done yet.
no way, i have some high end stuff in my bank that was untouched, also my money on all my toons is still intact. I had no issue logging in and as I said my comp is clean.
Doesn’t mean you weren’t hacked. You should change your password and wait for a response. I doubt Anet took your toys and outfits, sounds more like you were phished or you have some friends who aren’t very nice.
Five months since anyone from Anet has said anything about this issue.
…and all we got then was a “maybe we’ll do something…. maybe we won’t”The targeting system needs to be fixed.
What is the hold-up?
Why should they keep posting the same generic post that they haven’t figured out or worked out a fix yet. They already stated they have seen this problem and are working on it, would it make you feel better if every 48 hours a mod came back in and posted the generic “We have advised the team of this issue and it is being worked on.”? Or even better, how about they just lock the thread and say “As this problem is already being addressed, we close this thread. Thank you for the input”?
People are posting how/when/where it happens, that feedback is being seen or sent to those responsible for fixes etc. Posting and complaining just for the sake of complaining does nothing for the effectiveness of this thread.
They don’t appear to be working on it, though. The only response we’ve seen in the past 6 months was that it was “low priority.”
Low priority still means on the list. Compare that statement to the mounts one “Not working on this, nor do we intend to.”
I did read up on GW2. Nowhere did it mention that 5 man dungeons would be mandatory to complete the storylines.

You are seriously asking why GW2 should be different than GW1? Really?
Different is fine. Forcing grouped content to complete ‘Personal’ and event storylines is not fine. I expect grouped content to be forced upon me by Blizzard but not by ArenaNet.
have still not tryed to solo the arah story but i know that the event is possble to solo tho it takes a hell of a long time but that dont change the fact it is something you can solo, it takes alot of trait swapping and skill swapping to do but still its possible
Don’t think you can solo it, one of the very first parts you need people to stand on 2 pedestals to open a door. I could be wrong though. But 1 group instance after 30ish? solo instances, really doesn’t seem all that terrible to me..
My asura was never a gremlin or mogwai. They are asura and never had fur in the first place.
However yes I do see the resemblance to gremlins a bit :P
Fury asura mini pet on gem store 2013, I can see it now :P
