Yea.. but they are learning, they take our feedback. I’m hoping to see a revisited/revamp next year. And this isn’t an expansion disappearing or anything, we will have lots more stuff coming. So even if we miss out on some poorly planned rng item, we have more to look forward to ^^

It’s always been the other way around. While MMOs are selling, they generally don’t launch expansions. Expansions are what you launch when you need the influx of money.

Many of them seem to put expansions onto a regular release cycle.

WoW even starts making X-Pac 2 now about 6 months before X-Pac 1 goes live. EQII has them like clockwork, but I don’t follow it well enough to know details. Guild Wars 1 had them about once every 6 to 9 months for the first 3, then had the fourth some time after and called it quits.

City of Heroes had two, period. City of Villains shortly after launch, and then Paragon years later.

There doesn’t seem to be a predictable pattern.

For GW2 it will be a bit of a balancing act.

We know there are 2 other confirmed continents. There is a fourth continent that never hit anything live anywhere and has never been mentioned in in-game lore so it could be scrapped or anythinged.

But for the other 2, they HAVE to come out or some point or their lack will hurt the game. But coming out too fast could also hurt the game.

They have to find that perfect point where the fans have nothing left but to demand it, but haven’t started quitting over it yet.

I’m obviously not talking about WoW, because WoW doesn’t have to worry about sales falling off. They fell off to 9.1 million subscribers last year..do the math at 15 bucks a month and you’ll see that WoW is in a class by itself.

Guild Wars 1 also can’t be counted, because the entire marketing plan wasn’t based around subscription prices or even the cash shop. The marketing plan of the game was about bringing out new expansions in a fast manner.

But there are hundreds of MMOs out there, and the cycle, even in WoW is always that the player density always falls off as players finish the old content. They stop logging in. They wait for the new content. Guild Wars 2 has a similar traffic pattern when you see the monthly stuff released, for a few days to a week, traffic gets mad busy, then slows down again until the next month’s patch.

But most MMOs don’t have monthly content patches. Most of their big patches are all done at one time, with the idea of bringing people back to the game. It’s a balancing act for most developers.

You can only make a certain amount of content in the time you have. You have old content out there that people are going through. Enough of the people get through all the content, they get bored and move to other games. You don’t want to release a patch too early because you don’t want to waste it. You want it to have maximum impact…because you can’t make another patch with a small staff soon enough to make more people log in more often. And that’s what it’s about for most MMOs, getting people to log in.

So the population drops, an expansion brings them back, which is what most MMOs are looking for.

At last report, the last one I saw, WoW was back up to 10 million. This was in Blizzards last quarterly report.

WoW is down to 8.3 million subs, just make sure you are looking up Q1 2013. But this discussion is getting a bit off topic.

I find it a bit odd several people are seeing this report as Anet being in dire trouble. Of course the sales are going to be down, GW2 is buy to play; the main source of revenue is the box purchase. We’ll get a much more reliable number of how GW2 is doing by looking at this information over the entire year.

I think people aren’t able to compare it correctly because it is a B2P game. The huge surge at launch is normal for MMO’s, sub games continue at least a good majority of that income month after month. Whereas GW2 has no further purchase beyond gem transactions, so people are comparing apples to oranges. GW2 is still doing well, its box sales going on from January, are not a good indicator of how well the company is doing. The micro-transactions are a better indicator, but those too fluctuate based on what “we” like. So people can take breaks from the game, and Arenanet/NCsoft neither make or lose profit. It is really about keeping people in the game, coming back all the time, not having to pay each month for same content. Hence the entire living story model they hold to. They need players to keep playing for profit, since simply owning the game and playing whenever isn’t profitable, they introduce temporary content in hopes to bring the playerbase back and purchasing in support. And I think they have done a good job in this aspect. Now once they fix bugs, balance etc, it will all start to run much more smoothly.

Curious how they will do when the 4 other MMO’s release. I think GW2 still has much potential, maybe it isn’t “wow” big, but who cares, this isn’t wow :P

You don’t have to roll dice every morning to see if your ISP will let you use the service you paid for.

Depends on your provider :P Tell that to people with dial up or DSL in remote locations heh Not to mention all the people who pay for cell phones who get capped on net usage, or bogged down. There is RNG irl too, some people just aren’t used to it in a game.

But my response was to the statement about not catering to money grubbing companies. i could list a hundred of them, some you probably use walmart, internet, cell phones, cable, buying the game itself… But thats beside the point.

I did try my chance at the rng monster and I knew full well my chances when I did. If I didn’t get a ticket I can only blame myself as they are optional and in no way help my character other than visual “prettyness”. Around 170 ish keys, 4 tickets. 2 daggers, 1 shortbow, 1 greatsword. My guardian has the new mace/shield + fused GS, my thief has the fused daggers, short bow, and new quiver.

Check to see if they are in an invisible bag, also check that you have enough funds to sell an item. Otherwise try and relog, if those don’t work I’d say try support.

Repeating content. Replaying living stories.

There was a hint at the possibility of being able to do certain dungeons or events in the future in another post. Now keep in mind this is pure speculation but by the sounds of things and how Arenanet likes to do things like fractals and holiday events, we may have a chance to do living story dungeons, instances, and relive story content etc in the future.

So far we can assume we will have wintersday, Halloween, and SAB back on an anniversary date. From the comments I’ve seen it sounds like we may also have chances to revisit previous living story events. I say this because the concepts, story, dungeon data doesn’t really disappear just because the event does. And reviving these events in the future on an anniversary date could fill gaps while other content is being created.

Imagine for a second it is April 1 again, 2014. We get the SAB with new stages, but because that work has already been done they have time and room to add something else as well. Same for wintersday, they have all the makings for past events, and room to change the story or events around. Now with any luck in March-May or sometime between they bring back the Flame and Frost dungeon with same rewards and/or new rewards. They could put it in fractals in Hard Mode, they could just allow you to do a quest that sent you to somewhere to enter the “revisited” instance, or something along those lines. Now all this code and story is just sitting there, so they just add it back with some finesse. Now since this required no real “new” content, they could have a new arc during this time on top of that. Or perhaps something from January-March hasn’t reached its end yet and overlaps.

Imagine over the years we have revisit-able events, overlapping new content, and changes to the overall world. All done because they use “living content” that goes away (for us) but they don’t truly do away with. An example in case I lost anyone :P

Now if we keep stacking on historical events, short dungeons/instances/stories we can do that won’t take much time away from whatever new content is out the game could have so much content to it. And this would also help those who never had a chance to experience it.

In short, I think it is possible, and profitable, for Arenanet to use current living story as static historical (on the anniversary) revisit-able content to help people who missed out. And on top of those small remakes add new live content that is limited time. It still instills a sense of “Oh we have to do this or it will end!”, but also allow those who could not the ability to do them when they come around again. The fact that GW2 is a game very different from others leads me to believe this sort of thing could work. As most games only repeat, or allow repeat of “holiday” events only. Whereas GW2 will have content year after year that will fill the game with life, and renew it with life as well. Again, this is all speculation from what I’ve read and gathered so don’t take this as a guarantee ^^ But I hope to see everyone next year in wayfarer foothills lfg for MF, and lfg for X content as well

What are your thoughts on this possible outcome?

1. The level of respect at which one is regarded by others; standing.
2. A person’s high standing among others; honor or esteem.
3. Widely recognized prominence, distinction, or importance: a position of prestige in diplomatic circles.”

I thought it would be interesting to discuss prestige in Guild Wars 2. Most are probably familiar with the word, it is quite often used by devs and players alike. Often times weapons, armor, skins, titles etc are a sort of prestige. Something you can show off, something you can say “Hey, I worked hard for this!” And after working for these things we appreciate when people ask us how we got that title, or congratulate us on our really rare skin or dye color.

Well I believe there is a strong difference in what items are given prestige status and which items are perceived prestigious. Take for instance these types of prestigious things:

Prestigious RNG items: Items acquired solely by luck or chance. These are viewed as rare in most cases and people either view them as prestigious, or simply something anyone with unlimited wealth can just buy.

Prestigious historical items: You see these if you are a GW1 player. You may have had the chance to obtain gear only available to those who achieved certain things in the previous game.

Prestigious crafted/bought items: Items like legendarys, which can either be crafted or bought with large amounts of gold. Some people see these as amazing feats, or simply another rich persons trophy.

Prestigious titles/tags: Some titles like “Been there done that.” Show a player has worked hard in exploring the world and obtaining large amounts of completion, in fact, entire completion. A tag like commander however can simply be bought. Some commanders use their tag in WvW and PvE and this is fine, others simply want the tag. And there is nothing wrong with either, unless you are leading people off cliffs-something I would never… usually.. well lets say most people won’t lead you off a cliff.

Prestigious event items: Items you can obtain only by being there during a specific period. Often times allowing only those with time to play or who play during a certain month to obtain them. Examples would be living story, holiday etc.

So as you can see some things really require either no work, some work, gold, or some combination. I believe many people are against RNG type of of prestigious items like the fused weapon tickets from BLT chests. Another example of things people dislike would be RNG linked rewards from a chest, when the chest or instance is temporary. While players enjoy running a dungeon several times so long as it is permanent, the RNG factor would not be so bad. As for the RNG ticket drops from chests, these require a large portion of gold or real cash to play against.

Now I’m not starting a debate on gambling, or simply complaining about range. That is not the purpose of this thread, many others out there are available if that is what you wish to address. I would simply like to see more prestigious items and titles given through means that anyone can achieve. I think it would be a great benefit to add several items and titles that were meant to be not unbelievably rare, but fair to players who put work into them. There needs to be a middle ground between 1% chance of BL chest drop, and finishing a living story for 100% chance at a gauntlet. A few examples would be:

Weapon/armor skins that are achieved through specific bosses with a decent rate of drop. Something that would over time probably be seen often, but still have a sense of accomplishment to it. Great for casual players, and great for collectors.

Special foods and special consumables. More foods that can’t be crafted, not many just a few with special stats or effects. Give them as quest rewards much like the mortar and ember spirit consumables. And add more special items that can only be achieved through quests, ones that will be tied to PVE only, so they have full potential.

Now this wasn’t a suggestion post, what I really want to know is whether players feel like legendarys, titles, and other things Arenanet views as prestigious because of rarity- are still prestigious in players eyes. Do you think legendarys serve their purpose? Do you think something like “Golden” title is an accomplishment? Things like those that were implemented to show off to others, I’m interested in seeing if people now playing still find them valuable as prestigious items/titles. Or if their actual prestige factor has gone because they are obtained too much by luck or money alone. And feel free to comment on the 5 types I listed, and add any I missed.

tldr; Discuss what you believe is a prestigious aspect/item/title in game, and what you no longer feel is an accomplishment other than to be able to buy. Also, how you feel about prestigious items given out solely by luck.

An option to disable right click targeting

This is without a doubt the best way to fix this problem. I don’t know how hard it is to do, but it would save me a lot of frustration. Lol at geotherma’s arguments here. Priority? How important was the fix on how an NPC holds a chicken? I won’t argue with the idea that some people have no problem with this, but by her own admission she never uses right click to target or attack or interact with anything. What if tab cycled through allies and resource nodes and brought up dialog boxes and made you start mining while you were getting hammered by a dozen enemies? Would that be a priority fix? Nah, let’s fix the way NPC’s hold chickens.

Arenanet is the ones who said low priority, I was just repeating their words. I personally think it is a lower priority because it is not as large as some think it is. This problem only affects some people, of 1-2 million people this thread has under 300 who feel strongly enough to post about it. I’m not saying their claims are unfounded or untrue, just that this is what we were told. I agree it should be fixed, even if it is to convenience just some players because it is not a major change to the game. Many people continue to make it sound like I’m against it, when clearly I’ve stated otherwise and condensed info that is easier for people and devs to read. There are plenty of things I would like fixed as well, I would like the chickens to stop pooping eggs at me for 40k damage, and for 3 champions to not use the same 21k dmg skill at once on me.. But I’m patient.

Multi-function, zero-advantage macro?

I changed the screenshot to the much simpler “F12” toggle. You could just press F12 then print screen. As a macro it is only 3 buttons, used for a visual capture not a skill in game. I think that would be fine.

An option to disable right click targeting

First- The problem:

Some players would like an option to toggle off right click targeting due to various play issues.

I support this and if you do please +1 the helpful ideas/feedback not just anyone who posts. If you have issues with this problem too please post as much info as you can so that devs who read can understand your issue. Below is a summary of the problem and thread so far with information that can help you better see the situation.

I’d like to add some clarity to this thread now that it has gotten so lengthy and difficult to read. As of my posting this 5/12/2013 2:02PM EST here is the summary and purpose of this thread:

There are several 2-8 posters as well but I won’t list those. Once duplicates are removed we have:

227 Unique Posts (Going to assume they are all for this, or support this)
Assuming 50 posts are dedicated to each page this would actually be 4 1/2 Pages long.

Now some people are saying this is a wide spread problem, some even have commented this is the biggest problem in game. I provided the information so that people can get a better picture of where this thread and problem is. As you can see it is not thousands of players, so one can assume that this problem may be linked to a few various things:

Play style of the individual
A glitch
Certain aspects or areas of the game
Class related
-There are more but those are examples.

Now the problem has been replied to by devs and the Arenanet team (although infrequent, they have replied). Here is the bulk of what I could find on this matter:

6 Months Ago-

Our development team reviews play input on a regular basis. They are aware of this suggestion, but have not yet reached a decision on what changes, if any, they will make to targeting.

There is a lot going on right now with the upcoming event, but after that, the team will take a look at a lot of different game elements, and may make some changes in the future.

Sorry I don’t have more specific information, but you can be sure this is not being ignored or rejected without due consideration.

20 days ago (Seperate thread)-

1) I agree that targeting has been a point of contention around here since everyone has a different opinion on how it should work. We have not forgotten about this issue, but it is pretty low priority, unfortunately. This polish would fall under the umbrella of a combat team.

April 30 2013 Patch-

Fixed mouse-based target selection while using the “look behind” key.

A day ago via support-

“I would like you to know that I personally reported your concern to the development team. The research may take some time, so we will really appreciate your patience while they are investigating your concern. "

I believe there may be more quotes on the subject but couldn’t find at the time.
Again, I support Arenanet fixing this, and hope to see it in an update so that those affected by it can have relief from this problem. Whether it is a bug, glitch, or just a playstyle issue doesn’t really matter. Players have voiced their concerns and hopefully we will get a response. I hope this post helps to compress and clarify the jumble of posts and pages. If you have information to add please do so.

PS: Shame on you RoShamBo for making me use Office:Access to sort all that information out on duplicates… I hate that program :P

Fused Weapon Vendors: How long after event?

They have said that the fused gauntlets ticket will not disappear, I believe that the weapons tickets will be no different. Even the SAB currency will still be good next year.

You can find a few with google. Things like shiverpeaks.com (NSP), pretty much just type:

Server name + GW2 + Server

Or combinations of those. I just have a multi MMO site, if I had the time (and money…) I’d make my own multi server pages for everyone. Now if I was a millionaire I’d add on a 1 million (if possible :p ) mumble server too :P

Fused Gauntlet Ticket after F&F?

Hey there,

If you have the gauntlet ticket in your inventory, it will not disappear when flame and frost is removed.

The way it works is, when you use the ticket, it summons the vendor, then you use the ticket as the currency to buy the gauntlets you want. This functionality does not depend on flame and frost being active, if you wanted to wait a year and use it on the flame and frost anniversary, it would totally still work and give you your gauntlets.

I think the spiders at the end of the events aren’t despawning. Hence why they drop no loot, because technically I think they are bugged. I’m not 100% on that, but at very least it is annoying to kill 30+ vet spiders for no loot. Tough battles for farming i can understand, OP mobs who you need to have more skill than most dragon/boss encounters.. maybe I can deal with that too. But if I’m going to endure this torture at least give me loot :P

1) I shouldn’t have to pay shipping and handling for a card then wait for said card to arrive in the mail. I refuse to drive over to Tampa, Miami, Orlando, New Orleans, or Atlanta for a kitten card…. waste of gas and money to drive 3~14 hours for a kitten card.

2) “From now until April 1, you can transfer to worlds with a medium-sized population for free! You’re still restricted to one world transfer per week, so choose wisely.” Have never seen a medium populated server in the american region since Beta at least

3) You mean the fact that Guild Wars 1 had way more servers and districts then Guild Wars 2 has? 3 Regions, districts under each regions and what not

I’ll just let others comment, I didn’t come to forum PVP, just stating facts and ideas/concerns about your suggestion. I stated my points, that’s good enough for me.

But yes, there were, right around the same time when they increased cap, which knocked every server to medium or high etc.

You can’t so you have to go to the closest options available

The white box in the screenshot is simply to remove my credit card information

1200 gems + 800 gems = 2000 gems. 1800 for transfer and 200 gems left over. $25.

As for the other ideas, no thank you imo. Some servers like NSP even though they are very high, are very much empty.. Whereas a place like TC or Tarnished Coast has so many people in towns and talking in map chat. Adding servers only causes more emptiness. And all that moving, adding, etc isn’t as simple as it sounds and costs some serious money. I’d rather they spend it on content and making the current game/worlds/servers better. We don’t want to segregate people by language or playstyle etc. That isn’t a good business model.

where are you getting 1200 from?

no where in that screen shot is there a 1200 option or the possibility of a 1200.

And what you are saying is “kitten any American region player who wants to play on another server, unlike the Europeans you have pay tripple the amount to transfer to any server because we don’t have any servers below very high”

as for the segregation complaint:
1) You aren’t forced on it
2) European region have no problems with this
3) There is a presidence already set with the European servers having German, French, Spanish, and Dutch.

God forbid we actually consider the fact that there are 2 other languages in the American region.

I’m talking about company costs… Arenanet would need to pay for more capacity and more servers. And possibly other unknown costs involved. And our money is currently going towards content, fixes, updates, maybe expansions if we are lucky. I’d like to keep the cashflow in that direction.

Also might I add the obvious, most other countries money is worth more than the US. So in theory, if you pay their equivalent, you are paying more.

25 Euro is $34.46 USD.
25 pounds is $38.39 USD.

Lastly, guesting around serves the same purpose to find a good server. If people are having trouble on a server that feels dead they can guest and experience that server. If they want wvw info they can ask in chat or on forums. They can then make an informed decision on if they want to transfer. And not every EU server is medium, all servers US and EU can change at any time.

There’s your Page 10 update (from support). It isn’t much but better than nothing. Maybe we get a response, maybe we don’t. We aren’t “entitled” to a response, we would like one, one would be great. But at no time are they obligated to respond all the time on the issue.

So it is being looked at, it is obvious that they can see this thread as it is always on top. So, sorry I couldn’t get something better, that’s all I can get right now. The recently added update for the camera turn is probably a step towards a fix. If you find constructive posts, or helpful information in the thread then +1 it.

I don’t know where your quote came from, but I do find it a little comforting. I tried using the forum’s search function (which should probably have its own complaint thread if it doesn’t already) but it only found your post.

I would be surprised if they were actually working on it, though, considering what Evan Lesh said a couple of weeks ago. From the way he said it, it wasn’t “being looked at” as much as “somewhere toward the bottom of the list of things to look at.” You know, based on his use of the phrase “low priority.”

I do agree, however, that 14,000 views <> 14,000 people in agreement, nor would the post count accurately reflect the number of people experiencing this issue (for a number of reasons).

I also agree that the recent “rearview” camera fix could potentially indicate that they might possibly be working on something in the general vicinity of what we’re requesting. But it’s hard to say if they won’t tell us.

I’d like to close with this brief summary of the discussion:

Everyone: Right-click targeting is so bad! It’s crazy horrible, and they should have fixed this months ago. Why aren’t they at least acknowledging it?
Gaile Gray: We’re working on Karka Island right now, but after that, we might take a look and see if it should be changed.
Everyone: Okay, so it’s still really bad! I can’t stand how frustrating this is! Are you fixing it yet? You really need to fix it!
Evan Lesh (in another thread): The targeting system is a controversial topic, everyone thinks they know how it should work. It’s low-priority, sorry.
Everyone: Oh, come on! It desperately needs to be fixed! It’s the single worst thing in the game, including thief balance and engineer bugs!
Geotherma: Calm down, guys. They said they’ll look at it! I’m sure they’ll fix it soon.
Everyone else: It’s been 8 months, and they’ve never once said they were working on it! How can they ignore this problem?

That was directly from a GM, that was the reply i got. I also sent a request for someone to possibly post in this forum for an update, but I can’t promise that, I don’t own arenanet :P

As was mentioned earlier in this thread, we have stated that we are unable to provide a reply to all suggestions posted in the suggestion subforum.

We do, however, regularly read the suggestions forum and deliver feedback to the design team on a daily basis. Just because you haven’t seen a reply does not mean it’s not being read.

Lol sorry, was confused on where the topic was referring :P There is some imo, that is really nice and glamorous. They could of course make more as the ones I’ve seen aren’t that many. I would say the theme is generally war, zhaitan, zombies etc so a lot of heavy or tough armor was made. Light and medium armors are ok as far as “pretty” stuff, but heavy is lacking there. Also it seems as though they want most of the “pretty” stuff to be town related. But that doesn’t mean it can’t change.

What is the Molten Jetpack droprate?

It does help. I’ve ran this dungeon about 60 to 70 times now and made about 70 to 80g and had the other 40 just sitting there and bought it. So your logic doesn’t make sense.

My luck isn’t that great so you don’t have to complain about it. You almost make a gold a run and that’s with no mf on.

How about save your gold and stop spending it?

I’m not here to fight with anyone. I’m just stating that if you keep running it you’ll have enough gold to almost buy it. Don’t buy now just put a bid on it.

I’d like proof please, because I’m certainly not earning a gold a run in any dungeon. 15 silver from the end, guaranteed 2 chests, one guaranteed blue from the champion…

everything else is mostly greys or nothing.

Also subtract repairs for every time the group wants to do berserker first.

Mine the ore inside, and kill more things, thats all I can really suggest. I’d say at least 1g easy in there.

They do seem to look more alike on some races, but I think the opposite argument could be made too. Some people want the style from humans on their asura etc. But hopefully we will see more soon.

Armor sets do look different on different races though. Not always for the best, but they differ based on who is wearing them. Some gear I never liked on my asura or charr, then I had that gear in my bank and previews on my human and it is totally different.

But that’s true only for an asura or a charr. Humans, silvary and norn have the same base model and therefore, the same armor which make our salad people look ridiculous at best and the norn look just like overgrown humans.

Actually I think they look different too, I have to double check though. And of course I’ve only tried this with a few models.

Then like you mentioned there are cultural sets. There will also be new skins like the hand armor for living story, gear like this can be mix and matched on races for a great diversity in styles. There’s a pretty big thread on pics of people in mix and match ONLY gear. I foresee more gear coming, or at least skins. We have gotten tons of weapons, and a few odd pieces, it only makes sense that the next step in a few gear sets. Perhaps even some that look different on other races like a few of them we currently have.

I would just say wait. Not because it will be nerfed or something huge, but because whatever is implemented might have a better overall way to gear/acquire MF. And to optimize MF the best you can, you may put yourself into a situation where you could have gotten more, or gotten it easier.

There’s your Page 10 update (from support). It isn’t much but better than nothing. Maybe we get a response, maybe we don’t. We aren’t “entitled” to a response, we would like one, one would be great. But at no time are they obligated to respond all the time on the issue.

So it is being looked at, it is obvious that they can see this thread as it is always on top. So, sorry I couldn’t get something better, that’s all I can get right now. The recently added update for the camera turn is probably a step towards a fix. If you find constructive posts, or helpful information in the thread then +1 it.

It is low on the list, it was to be looked at more detailed after the living story. You can be patient or impatient, it doesn’t affect me either way. Just shining light on the fact that no person here has more knowledge about the game than someone who works on it, or even someone who knows programming.

In the original quote from Gaile Gray, she wasn’t talking about the current Living Story updates. She was talking about the Lost Shores. The comment was made on November 9. See below.

Our development team reviews play input on a regular basis. They are aware of this suggestion, but have not yet reached a decision on what changes, if any, they will make to targeting.

There is a lot going on right now with the upcoming event, but after that, the team will take a look at a lot of different game elements, and may make some changes in the future.

Sorry I don’t have more specific information, but you can be sure this is not being ignored or rejected without due consideration.

Your kitten right I am mad. The targeting is god aweful in this game and there has been one post in 8 months with over 14,000 views yet here we are with 0 response from Anet since the creation of the thread.
It is clear that you do not have the ability to comprehend sarcasm, although I would love to see the “Asuran Targeting Scanner” sold on the gemstore…at least the issue would be fixed.

Sooo, I can’t “degrade” you somehow but it is ok for you to do that to others. That is very mature lol.
I don’t think that they should respond to every page but when a thread that is over 8 months old with 18000 views! is not responded too then there is an issue.
Myself and the thousands of other people who are sick of this issue will sadly never get a fix for this.
Arena Net has done jack squat to even discuss what many feel to be a gamebreaking issue and that silence to most is regarded as non-action.

If I submit a right click targeting disable code to Anet I want 100k gems. I shouldn’t have to do their job for them.
It isn’t hard to do they just don’t want to do it unless it is somehow tied into the gemstore. ie. you can now control how you target! The Asuran targeting scanner is now available for the low price of 2000 gems!
It is so low on the list that Anet devs havn’t even responded in 7 months to a thread that has 13000 views! How is that for customer service and being in touch with the community?
Having knowledge of coding is irrelevant when the company your so very patient with(I consider 8 months patient) isn’t even willing to put a simple “we are working on it guys” comment.
The vitriol in this forum is well deserved and gone are the days where Anet listened and interacted with it’s community.
Your white knight attitude to this issue is but one small voice compared to the 10 pages of people who want this addressed.

They were altering the targeting code already! Your insinuation that you need to have a supreme amount of time and experience to implement a control toggle is about the shiniest white knight comment that I have ever read on this forum.

Cool beans. If it is so easy then perhaps you can email them the code. Because clearly you have more insight into this than the devs of the game, and your opinion invalidates their overall experience and information. Right? .. These forums… But thanks for the compliment.

So your honestly saying you make the same gold when u played for 12 hrs each hr?

Yep. I’ve even done so to see the drops and rates at which I get drops. I don’t really have direction in GW2 anymore, I spend most my time just farming, running around the map dropping banners/events, and doing things that can help the community in one way or another. Much of which is stats, salvaging results, bag openings, etc etc.

Unless you are asking if I make X amount in 12 hours, and make that same amount in 1 hour? Then the answer is no. I make the same gold each hour, every hour I play, not the exact same mind you but generally the same average. I can make more or less per hour depending on how I feel.

Why not? At times I’ve played for 12-14 hours, sadly at times even longer.. I still am making money at hour 3, and still at hour 14. If it is money you are after, some things will always be easier to do to obtain it than others. But you CAN make gold just by playing the games events and DE’s etc. You just won’t make heaps of it, but then again you don’t really need heaps of gold to “enjoy” the game. Anything that does is a long term goal.

DR gets taken off, farmer farms all mats, a normal player collects the mats while playing normally, farmer brings the mats price down, normal player can’t get money by selling what he collected now, normal player can’t get exotic jewels unless he has jewel-crafting

OTOH mats are cheap and more plentiful so normal player can easily level up jewelry and concentrate more on areas of the game s/he enjoys.

What is this Otoh? I googled it, but nothing come up. I’m interested in games and MMOs so I would probably want to look at it. Could you give me full name or a link to the website, please?

The prices of mats are increased to insane prices by people playing the TP and buying up the supply raising prices also. Bots farming and selling mats are the only counter to people driving up prices on the TP and how do we know if Anet deletes mats or anything in surplus off the TP. They could always buy things in bulk and delete them from the game.

1. Do you have proof of people buying out T6 mats and outbidding themselves?
2. Bot farming is what makes silk, mithril, gold and silver unsellable. Sometimes linen and copper are also so plentiful that you benefit from selling to a vendor. One of my guildies has collected stacks of mithril, leather and silk. We joked that if he vendored it all in he would get around 1G. In a game clean from bots he would get far more for that.
3. “and how do we know if Anet deletes mats or anything in surplus off the TP” a) it would not benefit them b) why are there so much of certain tiers of items? Like literally, millions and millions of low tier materials.

Like you know anything about economy. You said lower material price make it harder for normal player to buy exotic. When in reality nothing changes. Since lowering material price lower the price of exotic.

Exotics getting dropped as loot means that community puts a certain value on dropped exotics that make crafters unable to raise their prices above it (because they require ectos it often means that they end up losing money) and mat prices don’t influence them that much.

Legendarys take years to get? Why do I see everyone running around with legendarys then? And people with multiple legendarys.

1. Because they’re not patient and made farming cof their job for a month or so
2. Because they bought it off gold sellers
3. Because they know what items will be profitable and invested into buying some stuff out, holding it and selling it back months later
4. Because it’s been 7 months after the game got released and if they were earning around 10 gold a day after hitting level 80 they could have saved up above 2000 gold by now.

“We” are u saying u work for anet ? Also your other post to me that u play to enjoy the game might have washed when it was new its now 8 months you need to have something to show time invested otherwise why play an MMO, taken from an other MMO time is money friend

so all of that holiday content that you could have gotten to show that you’ve been playing from the very start doesn’t count?
8 months * 30 (days in a month) * 10 (if you manage to earn 10 gold a day) = 2400. You could have gotten a legendary playing steadily quite easily by now.

10g a day lol your a funny guy, 1-2g per day maybe but what’s the use in playing a MMO for an hr or two each day? Cause in my experience after that 1st hr is up and you got your nodes/daily done your g making rates drop so low it’s not worth my time.

10g a day is pretty easy, depending on what you do. I’d say for most 2-5g/hr is very attainable. 10 A day is pretty much a given. In 2 1/2 weeks I made about 200g, granted I play a bit and enjoy farming. I could teach pretty much anyone how to make at least 2g a day anywhere from level 10-80, and that doesn’t take long at all. You could get your 2-3g/hr for 1 hour, then just play the game. It is all about how you use your time.

But at the same time, it is untrue that people HAVE to farm to make gold.
