I see. I guess the question to ask (and hopefully it has been answered) is, at what point (which action/LS event) did Scarlet stop doing the mysterious entity’s bidding and begin acting on her own?

That question is also assuming she made any action while under the influence of the entity. I think the journal’s timeline is very important in determining this.

Did she make any moves (did any LS events take place) while she was being controlled, or did she break free of this entity before she began assembling the alliances?

That’s what doesn’t make sense to me. If her objective never was to kill him (which is supported if she was being controlled by him), what use could Mordremoth have for her? Surely the dragons don’t need help in being awoken, right? And I don’t think Mordremoth would have diabolical plans for the Queen’s Jubilee. Unless I’m missing something big, the only reason Mordremoth would have for controlling Scarlet is if something was suppressing him.

Maybe that something is the dream? What if he’s using Scarlet to eliminate the dream so he can wake up, and the Sylvari are a kind of byproduct of suppressing the dragon?

If the target is Mordremoth, then obviously she wasn’t being controlled by Mordremoth. What is the Scarlet entity? What is using Caera to attack the Dragon? Could it be the Pale Tree, bluffing Caera with the threat, but really be the mastermind the entire time?

That would be an interesting twist – the Pale Tree maliciously using Scarlet’s knowledge through tricking her into thinking she was fighting against the Pale Tree, when in reality, Scarlet is the Tree’s puppet to tackle Mordremoth at any cost.

All vendor armor is Soulbound on purchase, I would guarantee you won’t see account bound cultural armor.

I’m not so sure, in the living story instance in LA after the first time your character encounters the Marionette and Wurm, Rox makes it pretty clear that Teq is dead:

I think they have something large ready to launch simply because of how thin these last patches are expected to be (feature wise). They usually give some kind if feature in each LS patch but they are holding their guns for a load, as they’ve said. ANet has a penchant for delivering in the long term, and when they deliver it’s impressive (looking at you War in Kryta and BMP).

The first year of this game has been a very meticulous survey. I’ve had my doubts in the past, but I think they are ready to blow us away.

We got a preview of the balances that will take place for the Feature update, are there any plans to give a preview of the actual features soon?

Does anyone think we will “beat the Scarlet out of Caera” instead of killing her? Or that maybe once her plan is foiled/ carried out the Scarlet persona will dissipate and we will be left with Caera suffering amnesia spanning the entirety of the Scarlet phase?

I’m not questioning the credibility of the claim, I’m questioning whether or not the theory of active possession is any more valid given this vague information (as opposed to possession by corruption).

Sure, the sheer amount of negativity puts into perspective the climate of the content, but those posts eventually deteriorate into crazy back and forth with people who have no intention of changing their minds, and the thread gets locked, making the overall sub forum look more unproductive each day. Look how active the Suggestion forum was, and that got archived because it wasn’t efficient, and the posts would be better served if allocated to more specific and appropriate sub forums.

What if they decide that the only productive posts here relate to builds, and begin relegating the constructive threads to various professions’ sub forums?

The negativity is necessary to prove your points, as shown in just about every thread of “durr stacking and wall of reflection is an exploit” but I worry that the forum will be seen as completely unconstructive and therefor unnecessary.

Off topic but it’s something to think about.

I lurk a lot and post a little in these forums, and if there is one trend that is obvious it’s people coming to the dungeon forum loaded with ignorance and misconception. I imagine it’s kinda disappointing for the community that supports this game play.

Now I am in no way a pro or pioneer in dungeon runs. I have been using this particular sub forum to gather information, feedback, skills, and knowledge about the game and its professions, and in doing so I’ve shelved my Necro, geared my Guardian in DPS, and have been doing my best to improve my gameplay and learn.

I’ve never had so much fun playing the game.

The amount of game knowledge that exists amongst the community members of the dungeon forum is truly valuable, and a very appreciated asset for those willing to understand and want to improve. I don’t participate in any times runs, nor am I part of a guild active in this area, but regardless, what I’ve learned here has made me better at the entire game, enjoy it more than ever, and allowed me to offer valuable advice in return to those who request it.

So thanks dungeon guys and girls for figuring it out and doing your best to promote efficient and effective game play, even when massive misconceptions lead to derogatory and negative perceptions of your community.

I bought a TV one time that was HD and large…now they have new ones that are thinner with a better picture for cheaper than what I paid originally for my TV in the past but I don’t feel entitled for a refund or an updated TV.

Using the examples, why do so many people feel they deserve a refund or an update to their existing pick? Please no trolling or flaming, I am just curious on the communities thought on that.

Would you feel cheated if when you bought your TV, you bought so under the assumption that all future TVs would only have a different color frame, rather than improved capabilities, and your TV would be the best TV on the market?

Can we pleeeease have journal pages to add to Marjory’s journal that replays all cinematics from the story? I’d hate for YouTube to be the only way to see the Tower of Nightmares cinematics. They were so good.

The new method keeps suggestions relevant to the game’s scope at any given time. Prime example, the thread in the suggestion forum that suggested “The only thing that can save the game is a new planet with flying mounts”

I’m just afraid of the mass disappointment if and when this is not Dragon related, however, Mike Z confirming mentioning the LS becoming more like the personal story suggests that it is ED related. That’s if they decide to form a pattern at this point, of Personal Story (Dragon) followed by World Story (Ramp up/reveal) and so on.

Seems like a way out of using skills effectively and intelligently.

I recently started doing dungeons with my DPS Guardian and have gotten kicked once. The guy said “We asked for DPS not fail AH Guardian.” I thought it was funny but I really wanted to do the run.

I think it’s a standard choice devs make when they confront playability versus mood/realism. Playability wins, and they make “night” bright enough for you to see everything clearly.

This whole encounter is a perfect example why TTS and guilds like them are detrimental to the game as a whole.
When a “special” guild has to be created to defeat a boss, that is a sign there is something wrong with that boss encounter. When that same “special” guild then defeats the boss, it “proves” to the dev team that the encounter is working as intended as it can be beaten.
The marionette was done well, the wurm and teq are just ridiculous.

Players banding together to take down the strongest bosses in the game is working exactly as intended.

I think the only bad thing about FSP is the fact that shield is terrible on Guardian in PvE. It’s by far the most awesome legendary. Granted it wouldn’t hurt to have some Krytan alphabet characters spelling out the prophecies for footprints, but it is perfect as is. Just wish I had a character that shield wasn’t bad on.
