Was on and off in SW since the announcement for around 4hours total. Then went on a farm binge for 18hours through Saturday night, finally got it Sunday morning at around 10AM.
Had tons of fun commanding Indigo for hours on end within the same map and same people.
To all my fellow Watchers on the Walls of Indigo! Thanks guys, you were awesome!

It is because it’s practically like this: The more you play the less chances you get..because the DR system kicks in. That’s why the majority of drops u see from ppl who played 1-2h …and most ppl who complain about not getting it is from 5h++
This means you basically have a “limited time” to get the item by RNG, till DR kicks in and your RNG is effected negatively till it’s not even worth it anymore.
Now if you ask me a system that punishes you for playing the game more, is kinda dumb. Effort should be rewarded not punished..and playing for a lot of hours is an effort…even if you do something you like.
DR is limited to XP and karma gained from events in most cases and bag drops in WvW.
Nothing else. So no, its not related.
Good no, but play however you want.
While I normally have an issue with SOME of the reward systems based around RNG in this game(looking at you, fractals), I have no issue with this portal drop being based on RNG.
After on and off farming for a few days I went on an 18hour bingefarm through Saterday night into Sunday morning to finally get it around 10AM.
And my was it the most fun I had in a long time, was commie at indigo and met some of the funniest and coolest people in game and played hours with them, we stayed on map without breach hopping, made jokes, some even stayed even after dropping the portal so much fun was being had.
In short, I think enjoying the journey should be just as important as the end result, however MAKING it fun is up to each of us individually.

I have not seen it in ages, but yes, it is known, they also claimed to have fixed it. So I don’t know…
tonny.7580, not sure if legit or troll…
@GrandHaven your drops do decrease with DR.
Obviously, but that is unrelated.
People need to understand how RNG works, EVERY SINGLE time the game rolls for a drop, that roll is handled separately, your chance never increases or decreases the more or less you get rare drops.
It really is that simple. The system averages out over ALL accounts in the WHOLE game, so yes, it seems broken, it is not.

This is one of the most game breaking bugs for me. Especially since ANY skill that makes you go airborn is affected by it, and Engis have a lot of them.
Lets hope this is fixed with tomorrows (if) patch.
Or maybe anet could just fix it. Cause WvW should support any way a player chooses to fight. Blaming on someones playstyle is just silly.
There is so much that can go wrong between your home and ANET.
Without providing more info, its near impossible for ANET to fix the issue(assuming it IS their responsibility and not your ISP).
Instead of demanding, you may want to consider being more productive with your time.
Since specialisations will likely lose out on something from the original class, maybe that loss is signets?
So now people are complaining about the B2P model?
Where are the days when it was the best thing since sliced bread.
Entitlement is just too much with some people..
What do you think will be the next hated build?
Its mainly used for the stun and the bandages, but yes, the turrets have very little impact now.
Incendiary powder is pretty important to maintaining perma burn which gives a 10% damage boost to flamethrower autoattack. I usually run celestial with flamethrower but even with berserker, you have some ok condi damage from the firearms line and might stacks so IP adds some nice condi pressure as well as keeping up your 10% damage bonus. Not to mention, if you go power flamethrower, you’ll want the power from explosives anyways and there isn’t a better trait to take in that master slot.
I’m sad for flamethrower. It seems pretty weird that the best burning builds on engi won’t use flamethrower since IP does better burning than FT on it’s own and FT is a lot weaker without juggernaut, especially once it stacks stability.
You really do not need IP for condi pressure on an FT build.
Here is the basic build I use for GrandHaven. I know it is not an ideal build but it is by far the most enjoyable build i have found for pve.
sorry i dont recal my armor, it is a balance to giving me 18k health i think, and a 65% crit chance with 200% crit dmg. If you really want all the details let me know and i will loot them up.http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fdQQJAqelsTpWr9dxdLseRSdBNqoEqdC6AUguKyjEDA-e
65% means you are running assassins.
So your build mostly JUST applies burning, so you are barely making use of ModAmm.
You do however have very short duration poison, bleeding and blind.
There are much better trait setups you can take.
@grandhaven ArmoUr is perfectly fine english by the way
Oh right.
My apologies OP.
The imagination is all yours dude, don’t put words in my mouth because of your own problems.
If I’m “wrong” you’ll have explain what I’m “wrong” about. If it’s objectivity, no, you are making a “literally”-style grammar/English comprehension fail. You are asking for understanding of your subjective perspective. Nothing wrong with that, but it’s not objective and writing FACT a lot doesn’t have anything to do with your perspective.
Yet you are arguing in exactly the same way? In a even more abstract sense to divert from the actual fact.
Irony at its finest.
L2P issue sorry. and I almost never say that. Stab wasnt working, it was a crutch. Now you have to learn to stand on your own two feet, like the classes that have extremely limited access to stability have been doing for 3 years
Engi and Mesmer says hi…
EDIT : Thief too I guess.
Take damage from what? It’s dead in seconds and there are fewer mini flames or whatever they are called than before. I used to enjoy the FE since I had to dodge and time heals. Just making it a hp sponge won’t make it any more difficult – I mean look at Maw——SNORE.
Without a rework, that won’t change, a good band-aid would be a health pool increase. As for the ledge, which I am ACTUALLY referring to since you kittened about it, its no different than standing at the bottom. So I don’t see why it should be removed.
not using IP I understand but modified amunition is great. WIth my crit build enemies have a fairly constant supply of conditions applied giving me an easy and consistant 6% damage boost. Even more if I don’t just sit in flamethrower.
I would love ModAm to be effective, but there are a lot better option right now, would you mind posting your whole build?
OK so you dont want all the buffs WvW gives everyone?
Press B and select Detailed Score, and then look at all the bonuses WvW gives to everyone else for our hard work! What do we get in return?
Fun? You know, the point of a game?
If you are not having fun, you should stop… Simple really.
The fact that WvW rewards are poor, does not belong here.
Deleting EotM is not even something I am averse to discuss, its beyond ridiculous.
If there will be event chain on new mapa zerg train is obvious.
But they will not work in the same way. So not so obvious?
Maybe not more HP but more fight mechanics. Oh yeah and get rid of the ability to afk on the ledge.
Why?
You still get damage and need to do damage to get contribution.

Bump. Some people actually enjoy this method of game play, regardless of how some others feel about it. This needs to be addressed.
There is nothing to fix! It is broken because of mass PLAYER behavior. Geez.
Then I wouldn’t suggest doing it until you see the changes in HoT.
Its called the FPS mentality. No matter what the actual objective of the game is, people will ALWAYS overvalue kills. Whether it gives 100points or 0.
Because it’s so prevalent to the point of completely dominating LFG.
After almost 3 years of the same dungeons, do you blame them for wanting it to be as fast and efficient as possible?
They are doing it to farm.
Not for fun.
It stops being fun when you do it daily.
However you perceive it, try to look at it objectively.
Lasted longer pre megaserver. I would say shortening the pre-event and increasing its health pool massively is in order and totally acceptable..

Armor*.
I don’t see why you should not do it, it will likely still be sub-optimal, but its not like you seem to care about that?
Yes it doesn’t make sense that firearms grandmaster have two flamethrower related traits. They should increase flamer burning durations baseline.
IP has NOTHING to do with FT. It should NEVER be used in a FT build. EVER. Same goes for modified amunitions.

dear anet pls if u do something like this again (working for your betakeys)
then give us distinct targets
like.. beat vinewrath once and charge the ortal in the ley line cave during sand storm or alternatively do one of the maguuma wastes or dry top reward track
(sure a full track might be too much)
but rng is not what most people seem to like…
Its a beta, ANET does not want thousands upon thousands of people logging into it.
If it was not based on RnG, there would be too many.

Shure…
Learn to dodge.
Don’t forget the salt.
It says enough that the “efficient and much better way” to use a turret is by not using it as a turret…
It was like that long before these recent changes to turrets, since the OP is referring to it affecting other areas of Engi other than turret engi, it required a clarification.
For WvW crafting celestial armor is a waste of time and resources! Knights armor with celestial accessories is best and is better in PvE if you don’t care about nerdy elitists yelling at you to use zerk!
Wahoo! Bye frands!
Can I have the reasoning behind this?
Do you run condi or power FT?
Because modified + IP is pointless on condi.
There are also better options for power based FT.
Please learn to use healing turret, its not meant to be dropped and left out.
Drop, overcharge pickup is efficient and much better in every way.
I also have the Aviator cap. Ill try it too.
EDIT : Jip Aviator cap.

Yes, same, also Asura. Guess that is the issue.
Pretty much the above.
The Predator effect is twitching constantly, same goes for chat and changes positions vertically.
Without legendary effect my toon is still twitching like mad.
Wait, you are using Ebonhawke as an example? That seems a bit… I don’t know… Foolish… Considering their situation?
The Ascalonian Catacombs house the corpses of the long dead, before the Foefire was used. You ca hear commentary on it in AC itself and in the Charr’s intro story.
Obviously, but why does it deserve special mention above any other part of Tyria?
The whole of the hill Divinity’s Reach is built on is a massive catacomb too.
That’s the best explanation I gather, that dragons simply cannot turn souls themselves. It’s fortunate Zhaitan never reached Ascalon. The Charr would have been wiped out with the amount of corpses in the catacombs.
“Their bodies were blasted into burning fragments, but their spirits remained standing.”
The Foefire emulated the whole nation of Ascalon. There were no corpses left, only some bones on the outer edges and the long dead.
IF one of the dragons could, it would be Jormag(meant to say Zhaitan, lol), since the Ghosts are undead.
However the ghosts are immune to dragon corruption.
Zhaitan didn’t CONTROL Orrian magic. He controlled Orrian magic USERS after they became risen, there is a difference.

Oh look… They have moved on from Turret Engi noobstomp to the next noobstomp complaint. Yay!
Hopefully this one ends up like the necro wells. Eles shouldn’t have to trait to make their AoE larger. Also, can we please just get rid of the falling damage trait for every class and replace it with interesting mechanics.
This trait change is awful. They should have removed terrible trait lines that no one is using kinda like they removed underwater weapons from the BL skins. Except with traits, they should have replaced the bad ones with interesting options.
NO TOUCH MY REDUCED FALLING DAMAGE TRAIT!
