Let’s take a look at the special abilities of downed classes:
thief – invisibility
mesmer – clone
guardian – sphere with precipitation
ranger – thunder
ele – mist form
engineer – pulling, explosion
warrior – revenge
necromancer – fear
As you can see every class besides engineer, guardian and necromancer have a way to protect themselves from those with stability.
This gives a huge disadvantage to those without such classes.
The idea of this is that we add a 5th skill equalizing the number of downed skills to the ones you usually have. Adding a skill that actually is useful against stability for necromancer, guardian and engineer but also getting a balance to add less useful skills for the rest.
Idea’s for 5th downed skill:
thief – Throw Up Dirt
Inflicts 4 seconds of blindness to nearby foes
mesmer – Illusion Mastery
Foes have to get your rallying life down twice to actually defeat you.
*warrior – *
elemenalist – Last Arcane Trick
Get a random shield (4s).
Fire: inflicts burning (5s) on your foes
Water: damage is converted to health
Air: Foes are dazed and interrupt when hitting you
Stone: Foes that attack you get knocked back.
ranger -
guardian – The last page
You remove all boons from your enemies around you knocking them down and inflicting 3s burning
engineer – Protective crate
You are protected by all attacks for a max of 12s however you lose your rallying life.
necromancer – Death shourd
Giving the necromancer the ability to get off the ground for the rest of his life source similar to warriors revenge ability.
Alternative: add a 5th downed skill depending on your race
Asura:
Golem-XZ77: Spawns a golem that revives you
Charr:
“For the Legions!”: Calls a random legion
Ash legion: give you stealth while healing you to 3 quarters of your rallying bar.
Iron legion: 3 shots from a trebuchet hit your selected enemy.
Blood legion: fights off your enemies
Flame legion: inflicts burning on all foes including you and your allies followed by a meteor storm that damages your foes as well as you and your allies.
Human:
Dwaynas embrace: gain a shield for 4s that protects you from any damage
Norn:
Call of Spirits: Spawn a random Norn Spirit.
Bear: heals you
Snow Leopard: knocks down all your foes doing heavy damage once
Raven: gives your foes blindness and bleeding
Wolf: fearing all your enemies for 4s
Sylvari:
Immobilizes all your foes.
Still missing some skills and some might need some tweaks. Any suggestions, ideas, inspiration etc.?
Inquestur wouldn’t count to asura slayer either.
holding your adrenaline is indeed a very attractive option.
this thread is about making USING your adrenaline a more attractive option.
You need to use your adrenaline to get the 15s fury that give 20% increased crit chance…
Those are the reasons why adrenaline is already attractive enough in my opinion. ^^
Indeed you should agree if you want to be kicked xDDD
Having the vote on 1-2 is non sense anyways. I mean seriously. You’re a group. At least more than half of the group (having a majority) should be required.
There’s a handful of “achievements” in Guild Wars that actually are achievements.
For example all the SAB achievements actually are achievements.
The adrenaline gives a damage bonus of 12% at max; it heals a lot more on max and higher boon on max depending on the weapon. (e.g. greatsword giving fury (20% crit chance bonus) for 15s.)
Ref – Overflow: Just remove the pop-up all together, we can see we are in an overflow server by looking at the mini-map that say “overflow” at the top! Not rocket science…
What about the fractal pop-up?
Read Up!
I suggested they move it to the right hand side in the achievements panel.
Oh I thought you scraped the other idea or had something else in mind instead :P
Good now how do we make Anet implement this?
It should be possible to map or there should be standard short cuts to use instead of mouse imo.

Why do you need a tab for every single craft?!
I spammed my guild’s bank with cooking stuff that I need.
In other crafts I’ve collected lots of wood that I then tried to convert to other items requires to craft certain items. However I don’t know how many I need of them or how many my other characters need. Maybe even my tier mats run out and I have to store the other items for later instead of selling them having to re craft.
I guess with the exception of cooking you can use 1 bank for 2 crafts (or 3 at max)
Oh now I understand what you meant exactly in every detail. You want a whole map to map it to LA to figure it out. Is the in-game map great enough to check? Because then I could go into the arena and take a screenshot of it today.
This should be an extra option to switch on or off.
Quaggan for Guild Logo <3
Sure some secrets are okay (like the way to get into the southsun dungeon without starting the instance) and etc.. Eastereggs and secrets are awesome but honestly there shouldn’t be an achievement about those. It’s supposed to stay secret ;P
This I disagree on.
Achievements should be used for things like this.
In no way are they needed, but they allow the player to get more out of the game. Achievements for things like this encourage players to play off the beaten path, as it were. Just have the Achievement hidden until you actually do it, so it stays secret.
Secrets themselves sure can earn Achievements but no such secrets that are on the same level as easter eggs. The thing in SAB was really unnecessary and forced the players to either use a walkthrough (which should not be the case. YOu shouldn’t be forced to use a walkthrough) or to ask them to spam their bombs at every place in the whole game. (There is no other way to find the secret rooms that were hidden without any hint)
I think I mixed those “high-leveled” secrets with the actual secrets you have to figure out that are beyond the possible to be figured out if the player is trying.
The developers said the Dragon Ball arena takes place below LA… but is it really below LA? I don’t know..
Blind and Chill are really useful.
I always use blind with my ele underwater to unable the enemies to dmg me while they can’t see s**t. Plus the condition kills them. However on bosses… I don’t know.
Chill is really helpful too. It slows down and increases skill cooldown.
While blindness and chill help only a little bit at bosses they are useful. Though other conditions may be more useful in the case of fighting a boss.
Without further a do: agreed.
Without needing to read after half: +1
L2p. I’d say :O
You have to ignore those who use walk-through. They are those players that will turn into hardcore zombies instead of hardcore pro gamers xDDD
However I understand that people use walk throughs for the super adventure box. It’s like in the first zelda game. Either check out an walk through or guess by throwing infinite bombs around.
Sure some secrets are okay (like the way to get into the southsun dungeon without starting the instance) and etc.. Eastereggs and secrets are awesome but honestly there shouldn’t be an achievement about those. It’s supposed to stay secret ;P
There are several ways to get them depending on which…
Amulet
- can be bought at the laurel merchant
- can be bought at WvW laurel merchant
Rings
- can be bought at the laurel merchant
- can be bought from prestine fractal relics (dropped from FoTM)
- can be dropped from the daily chest in FoTM
Accessories
- can be bought at the laurel merchant
- can be bought from guild commendations
- can be dropped from guild mission chests.
Back
- crafted in the mystic forge
- bought in the fractals with fractal relics
I totally forgot about few of them as I only play with signets (which aren’t supporter skills)
What I meant was that many classes have secondary healing skills. Like necro can use life sucking, guardian has certain abilities that let him gain extra health, ele has a whole section of skills that have healing effects. Thief can heal when invincible etc etc.
The teleporation stone is not only available to GW1 players except it was fixed. I don’T have a GW1 account still I was able to gain and use the teleportation stone to the Hall of Honor. However it was useless since there was nothing for me to get there as I reached no points in GW1. The only thing I got was a POI.
arrow pointing where to go ect.
oh god no! ^^’ Keep the current style just change the content and make the quests have a greater impact.
I’m confused…Oh god no because I want to get rid of it, or because you misread? :P
Oh god no because I don’t want an arrow pointing at where to go ^^.
The best about events, quests and jumping puzzles is trying to figure things out yourself. There are some quests and skill points that actually require thinking. Not every game includes this.
The damage of conditions is low because it ignores any armor. However in my opinion condition damage has a modifier that is way too low.
In PvE, yeah. That’s why 20 flying numbers confuse the source, because you might think “wow, I deal alot damage”.
Yeah, you actually would deal a lot of damage. If the modifier for bleeding wouldn’t be 0.05, and the modifier for poison wouldn’t be 0.10.
Just look at burning: 0.25. I seriously dunno about this. You need 100 on condition damage to get 5 more bleeding on poison, 10 more dmg on poison and 25 more dmg on burning.
1 bank slot for each crafting;
1 bank slot for greenies, goldies and exo’s for the mystic
1 bank slot for special items like boosters
1 bank slot for dungeon items
1 bank slot for fractal extra stuff and wvw or living story items
ui 12 bank slots without hoarding.
arrow pointing where to go ect.
oh god no! ^^’ Keep the current style just change the content and make the quests have a greater impact.
HoM is not only available to GW1 players. HoM is available to all players however only GW1 players find NPC’s selling stuff in there.
Pardon me but I never saw any vistas in the Dragon Ball arena. Am I misunderstanding you?
Sounds like ping lag to me :P I don’t like the idea but I agree with more conditions.
The warrior hasn’t many support skills into direction of defense and hasn’t many healing skills either. This is the difference between warrior and other classes. Which balances the warrior in most cases (with the exception of his 3rd downed skill which is a little overpowered but only in few situations).
I have an idea. Instead of nerfing each class, make every class overpowered :P Nah kidding.
The one thing I don’t like is that in most cases you’re forced to use a certain build to do the required damage and have the demanded survivability.
What if you don’t want to play the build because that’s not your play style? This would mean that it ruins the fun in both ways. It’s a lose lose situation.
Anet should make sure that there are more than 1 and especially different ways to reach the required strength to defeat your opponents.
This sounds much better than other suggestions on personal story repetition.
I just noticed that condition damage should be colored differently from normal damage. It’s confusing in few cases.
The damage of conditions is low because it ignores any armor. However in my opinion condition damage has a modifier that is way too low.
I really liked the event chains of lornars pass telling about the dwarfs leading into a jumping puzzle.
Or the necromancers lore in iron marches or whatever.
However it’s true that there should be more personalized events and quests.
(edited by GreenNekoHaunt.8527)
the attacks are the summ of the previos attacks…
Oh alright. The attack system is the same for both though. They’re both 9 hits each or something like that.
Necromancer? Only good builds are condition based? You’re wrong my friend.
The condition builds are one of the less good once (dunno why but condition damage doesn’t do much dmg except it’s burning)
I use a necro on berserk + soldier and I’m totally fine with that.
I enjoy running into the monster zerg with my necro using some wells and hitting some then jumping out again or getting supported whatever the case is.
Sure my dmg isn’t the world (knife with ~500 ~500 ~1k) but still I’m better doing on survivability than the berserk tanks on CoF.
I still find “Agent of Entropy” is not an achievement as you can’t achieve anything.
There should be an extra category for endless “achievements” that are no achievements as you can’t achieve anything. It’s more like a status on how much you did with a reward for each time you did a certain amount.
Condition damage is damage over time dependent on the condition not on your attack.
I have no idea how the game handles damage if you poison your enemy and another player stacks your poison to hold longer.
Also I prefer 20 small 45’s or 25’s falling from my enemy >:3
The solution to balancing is making every class overpowered lawl.
I like the idea of having more skills to choose from per weapon set. Plus you could unlock them by using the weapon even more. :P
Huhu a full defense against guard costs 115 level. Once you have already put 5-10 points on something else you need to get 575000 wxp.. hum…
For math fans: that means you have to take 3833 keeps :P
I once fought a thief in pvp doing my usual AoE traps. I usually play PvP with necro now on soldier. We were fighting 2 vs 2, necro & ele vs thief & thief. Both thieves attacked me at the same time doing a total of 12k dmg which was half my health. That’s not okay.
Whenever there’s a thief that has aggro on me I can only see my health bar drop with a DPS of 1k. Good my armor defense isn’t high but with 2.6k defense shouldn’t I be able to at least survive the attacks as if I’m fighting any other class?
When I try to use my condition traps they somehow always heal up to full health and in case they get problems they stealth and run away coming back with full health while I wasn’t able to regenerate just as fast. Heck that thief wasn’t even skilled on glass cannon and did 6k dmg. That’s definitely not okay.
With 18 might the 100b attack does 11k on last hit with my warrior.
With 18 might the second attack of my necro does 6k.
What’s there to nerf?
I have no idea. I’m rank 19 on pvp and just looked up which bags you could buy from which rang merchant and I got:
Rang 1 – 4 Slots | 8 Slots
Rang 10 – 10 Slots
Rang 20 – 12 Slots
Rang 30 – 15 Slots
Rang 40 – 18 Slots
Rang 50 – None
Rang 60 – None
Rang 70 – None
Rang 80 – None
Btw:
Oh sry, got a bit confused when fast reading the title.
How long I waited for doing char2 after char1? Few minutes. I usually go in once everyone is ready and I switched my char. Yesterday I got 60 60 again. I have no idea why I got 60 30 on Monday..
PvP parties are different. They’re an own group system. You can be in a group and in a different PvP party.
And tPvP… well there’s zero way to leave a tPvP except starting a new character.
Oh yeah, warriors on citadel of flames way 1 with berserk. They’re so funny. They always lie on the ground and I have to revive them. Sure necro has as much health as a warrior but a full berserk warrior has less armor than I on hybrid.
My warrior is hybrid as well and with my skills on crit and some builds and sigils depending on crit I easily throw 11k critical hits with 10-18 might. I often come to reach 25 might when there are 3-4 enemies in front of me.
Toughness yes yes. It adds up to armor with your armor defense. For each time you double your armor the enemies make only half the damage.
However tanking itself is not possible. I love to run with hybrid (berserk + soldier) so my toughness is generally higher and it does indeed help. It’s really useful but often makes enemies attack you instead. if someone else is able to take aggro from you it’s ok again however. But keep in mind that toughness is useless against any condition damage.
I disagree with Fractal 20 slot bags. However you could make it like in PvP where you can buy leather bags from 4-18 slots depending on your rank.
Well there’s nothing wrong with the current temporal content.. basically. There should be more permanent content as well though. We need both.
Same with fractals there is nothing wrong with them in my opinion.. basically. However the only difficulty change are higher chance for alternate ways and alternate bosses as well as enemies having more health and attack damage. That’s not the way to make something difficult. Anet should find an alternate to modifying health and damage to create a better scaling of difficulty that might actually be more interesting.
About the achievements.. I agree that the dragon bash achievements and a bunch of over achievements are… hmmmm… crap. They ask you to farm stuff. Let’s take a look at the south sun achievements. There were a few that could actually be called achievements. E.g. the goggles achievement as you have to figure out how to get it.
The PvP achievements may seem like farming achievements but they’re actually not (at least those considering the amount of rang points you collected) telling that you have achieved a certain amount/rank. Or winning a certain amount of tpvp games which really isn’t that easy.
Anet shouldn’t only take good things from WoW but I guess you took WoW as an example to show things. There are many games with good aspects but flaws as well. The only thing people have to do is combine good aspects of games. E.g. Cube World. Oh I’m so excited for it <3 infinite minecraft (MMO)RPG clone where you can modify your weapons all the way you want till a certain point.
