You do realize how impossible it would be to learn/discover Every Single recipe in a given profession, don’t you?

If not, let me remind you.

Over 23000 individual recipes just counting, insignia types, weights, and stat combo, on each item, of each grade, from masterwork up.

Not to mention the other 15000 that mathmatically have to be there due to ratios of stat combo and profession output for the given profession.

The Trademan window already has acheivements for completing the Professions, and a title for doing them all.

Also note: Anet themselves said that they did not want players to have to track down every recipe for the profession either, since they already knew internally that there is over 50,000 different combinations in any one given profession.

I realise how hard it would be.

I realise that the majority of people wouldn’t want to do it, and therefore shouldn’t be forced.

Luckily my suggestion doesn’t in any way force a person to do it.

Saying the 400/400 Armorsmithing achievement is in the game and therefore my suggestion is already covered is like saying the Been There Done That achievement is in the game and therefore the Hero tab shouldn’t exist as it’s all covered by that.

If you believe that discovering all items is impossible then why not put an achievement in for people who do it? Isn’t that what achievements are supposed to be? Things people think are impossible?

Achievements are there to give players a virtual but not imaginary challenge to brag about. Every recipe, sure that would be a challenge but that would even beat the WvW challenges which already seem impossible (kill 250.000 players, kidding?)

I never got any rare’s from Lion’s arch’s jumping puzzles and I do them on an almost daily base. So far the only rare was beryl gem.

Differing graphics for necro wells

I find them a bit boring. Most of necro’s AoE’s look equally depending on the type. However the traps have at least different activation animations. The well’s could have different effects too. Would be much nicer to see your well’s spammed and other players you want to support seeing “ah this is the heal field not the one over there”.

The only thing dramatically wrong about having full MF gear is that you’re weaker than a full berserk (I’m playing hybrid that means with full MF gear I actually hit more damage or at least more crit damage when with my few percent)

Plus MF gear has no defense or vitality. This means if you play on MF gear you have to be able to dodge and avoid most of the bosses attacks but you’re stronger than a hybrid.

I don’t understand why you people complain about full MF gear players being weak. They’re stronger than a hybrid version of them so be happy with that and expect them to be good players.

It’s like someone saying “I rather go on damage than agony resistance” and doing a fractal 20 run with 0 AR. He might be able to survive till jade maw by only dodging and avoiding. MF is no big difference hear.

Laurels for Precursor

Monthly only gives you 10 laurels. That means a month gives you 40 or 41 laurels with the exception of February.

That means you need to do your dailies and monthly for 10 months to get the precursor after the concept mentioned by the OP.

Honestly.. Elementalist is not a complex class. It’s a simple class. You just have a lot of button mashing and some activity on dodging or running away from the aggro if not enough defense or heal.

You didn’t miss anything. Halloween, Wintersday will return. Super Adventure Box has been said to come back when Flame and Frost is done. Whether it will or not is unclear however.

If you do the living story swiftly enough you’ll get all achievements you might miss.

Keeping armor current?

Usually you don’t need to keep your armor current. I didn’t and I did fine with necromancer.

However it gives a much greater impact on warrior and might even be necessary or from big advantage for guardian.

The only audio log collector I know is in the Diessa Plateau at the beginning when you come from the Black Citadel.

Ranger had a lot of fixes I heard. Like pets not pulling enemies anymore except you “tell your pet” to attack.
Also a pet is always welcome as it can heal others during fight.
Engineer can make a lot of support towers and stuff.

I’d definitive take a ranger over engineer but that’s personal opinion.

It would:

  • expand the, current lacking, trade section of achievements.
  • remove a lot of items from the trading post, especially those stacked at vendor price +1.
  • give crafters recognition for discovering recipes instead of just getting those that appear on a 0-400 guide.
  • have absolutely no negative impact on people who don’t care about achievements.

Achievements should be in the form of:

  • 0/10 Armorsmith items discovered
  • 0/100 Armorsmith items discovered
  • 0/* Armorsmith items discovered (where * is the total number of non-holiday discoverable recipes).

Either all recipes including holiday or not at all. That’s plain stupid to exclude holiday discoveries. However I agree with excluding living story recipes.

Easiest Profession to Level via WvWvW

My first thought was Necromancer. They aren’t really a frontline generally, but they still have alot of survivability. Then you have AoE with your staff which can provide alot of XP from kills. Id recommend going straight for increased mark size in the trait lines. Their initial heal removes conditions so you wouldn’t need to pick up a well for condition removal immediately. Sceptor can also do AoE, or you could build more power with an axe and whichever I definitely prefer the warhorn for swiftness and the 2 second daze.

I would rather go for placeable wells. Somehow the mark size trait doesn’t work for my marks 2, 4 and 5.

it does work when you place them but there is a bug that keeps them from showing as big as they should be before you put them on the ground.

Oh so they’re only shown smaller to me? And I thought they actually were smaller and only the third one is bigger. That explains quite a lot. Thanks.

I would agree but I really really really want to see the SAB before they fix bugs and glitches. Currently the SAB is the last thing I need to always have an alternative to when I don’t want to do something else in GW2.

I’m leveling up my low level characters, doing some CoF or Fractal runs, doing dailies pvp dailies, monthly and pvp monthly, repeating jumping puzzles from time to time, enjoying SAB (cya) and the living story content or doing some bosses. Sometimes I even farm T5 and T6 materials. Sure a lot of GW2 doesn’t feel interesting however I always or at least almost always find an alternative.

I would love more titles based on progression through your storylines. I realize some wouldn’t quite fit on other races so we could keep them somewhat general. I’m going to use my Charr as an example.

Legionnaire – first story arc
Centurion – when you get promoted

Recruit – joining the Vigil
Crusader – rank up
Warmaster – rank up

Commander – when you get promoted in the Pact.
(Something for beating story)

I just think this would be nice and give you minor achievement titles to choose from because there aren’t too many in the game yet and there’s giant chunks of people using certain titles (Golden, Distinction in applied jumping, Avenger of the disposessed)

When you finished story Trahearn or whatever his name was says he gives you a title. I never got a title. That’s kinda… misleading.

GW1 Style Salvage Kits

Have you forked out tonnes of cash on them special runes (eg. Air) that you wish to put on another armour set type (Knights -> Zerkers) but still wish to retain your armour set? Have you ever wanted to swap sigils on your weapon skins, but not wanting to pay extra, or destroy one weapon in the process?

GW1 Salvage kits (perfect ones) were a incredible. The kit would allow you to remove the sigil/rune(upgrade component), or the prefix, while still keeping the weapon intact.

While we’re at it, lets allow insignias to be applied to current armour sets/weapons, without having to go through the process of forging a new weapon and applying an expensive fine transmutation stone.

Hear my desperate cries, Devs! Bring back GW1 style salvage kits!

Hmm I agree that a rune/sigil removing items would be really handy.

Thing you could have missed:
- April Super Adventure Box (jumping puzzle, with wapon skin as reward)
- To catch up the achievement of flame and frost
- recent 2week ending dungeon
- many patch on classes, wvw, pvp, pve

Fun fact: SAB will be back after Flame & Frost is over. I heard a developer say it when 2 were invited to I don’t know and told about the future of guild wars 2. They told about a 2 week maintenance. Oh what coincidence that flame & frost is over exactly 2 weeks after SAB disappeared, right? :P

Is the amulet you’re trying to infuse one that has a utility infusion slot? If not, the infusion won’t work.

Is there even a way to find out what the infusion slot was once something was put on?

group setup: guardian+thief+x? (pve & pvp)

With Necromancer your team would have a half-tank/condition-canon. It would add in greatly.
With Mesmer your team would have quite some support but if one of your friends has aggro you wouldn’t look too useful.
With Ranger your team would have someone with range attacks and a pet that can heal any of you.
With Warrior your team would have a DD/tank that could also support with increasing the damage.

For the solo roaming necro does quite well. As a half tank he has quite sometime to live. Of course you can’t kill >1 enemies alone but in 1 vs 1 depending on your skilling and attributes you should do just well.
I haven’t played mesmer long and I haven’t played ranger at all (definitely planning to o ranger though)

I think a better pvp tournament system would solve this. Something that let’s you play against opponents that are equally good at playing to you using your current win-lose stats. That way you always have a good chance to win your tournament, you have a challenge and the achievement is no problem anymore.

Plus this would also solve the problem with the 500-80 or 100-500 point tournaments. Seriously, it’s no fun for the team that loses and it’s no challenge for those who win and seek out for one. The 400-500 or 500-400 or even better the 500-489 games are much more interesting and a lot more fun. This new system would encourage this.

i want to do all of them so problem not solved. we could get it all within 2 hours for 8 months, now you are trying to get ONLY tournament achievement for 2 hours which is ridiculous. so i have no idea why do they have to make it harder and harder after almost 1 year.

warrior, necro or elementalist.

The warrior can easily survive in groups of enemies with some companions.
The necro survives less than warrior but has lots of health.
The elementalist can’t survive in groups but can kill dozens of enemies via fire storm.

However it basically doesn’t matter. You level up by running with your zerg and hitting few enemies.

I have played Necro (80), Warrior (28), Guardian (16), Elementalist (11), Thief (5).

I have to say it’s a lot of fun playing necro once you tried different traits and play styles.
Sure at first it’s difficult getting rid of aggro’s of the same level as you but once you got your abilities you need to survive you can have a lot of fun healing yourself by killing monsters and spamming conditions on your enemies. Plus you have the ability to be invincible for a certain time of “extra health”. This can also be used to jump off of cliffs and survive the fall regardless of how high.

Ascended Amulets: Which to pick?

If you want to add attributes like damage then you should get the offensive.
If you want to add attributes like defense then you should get the defensive.
If you want to have utility bonuses then you should get utility.

Don’t worry about the agony one. It’s an omni infusion and matches into every infusion slot.

Infusion slots function exactly like runes and sigils. Once you throw an infusion on an infusion the former is deleted and overwritten by the latter.

The thing is that symbols stay in our memory longer than words. Words are more difficult to remember than a symbol.

Don’t ask me why. I have no idea about the anatomy of the human kind or whatever.

I like it with symbols. There’s more space which it’s easier to see everything on one look. Plus the symbols resemble everything very well and are easy to keep in memory. Much easier than 12 different words (who knows if more will follow).

I read somewhere that soulbound items become account bound when you place them in the bank and the delete the character, so that seems to work for at least some items (like starter gear?) but I haven’t tried it myself.

Nah it doesn’t. It is still soulbound to your deleted character. I’ve done it before. Nothing left to do but destroy it, or leave it there for posterity or whatever.

Some soulbound items can be recycled or sold… still better than destroying.

I will certainly try doing the mists more often

Well yeah, buy the amulet from the laurel merchant.
Buy the accessories from the guild merchant (if you can’t then laurel merchant unfortunately)
Buy the back from fractals (much cheaper in time than farming T6 mats)
Buy and drop the rings from fractals themselves.

That’s how I do it and I must say it’s the best way to get to the things the cheapest possible. I’ve done several runs in fractals already pretty much to be honest but 1 run is about 30min to 2 hours 30 min. If you do a run everyday and on weekends 2 or 1 higher you swiftly get all your fractal relics.

I wish I could have Ranger but the price is too high for character slot for using gold so I wait for my birthday when I level up (/turn) 18.

Necro and Guardian are a lot of fun to play unfortunately guardian has hardly any life compared to necro. I personally prefer necro ^

It forces people to think and plan before taking a tower, which is most likely the whole point.
You can’t just rush in with overwhelming numbers and take it without trouble now.

It is however quite easy to destroy most arrow-carts before everything rushes in to their deaths.

We tried destroying all walls, the door, and then tried to rush in. Still same result. The only sufficient technique was using the alpha or omega golems but they’re quite rare or expensive.

I’m not asking for setting it back to what it was. I’m asking for decreasing the increase a little bit. 130% or what it was is a bit much in my opinion..

I don’t know if anyone has problems with this too but currently on our server capturing other towers is nearly impossible. We run in with a zerg of 40 people and 86% dies because of multiple arrow carts that all shoot on to the same place.

I understand increasing the arrow cart damage. I’m fine with that but the amount of how much it was increased is dramatically frustrating.

Is it even possible to capture towers that have multiple arrows carts?

Legendary Weapons need to Be More Legendary

I disagree with both higher stats and a unique skill. The legendary thing is designed to give you something cool for all your time, not something more powerful. Grind2Win is as distasteful to me as Pay2Win.

But, I’d be in favor of better effects (like sound effects for all) and unique skill animations or even coloring (so my fire breath and aura with Rodgort on my guardian use flames the same color as Rodgort’s flames instead of blue).

I think it is your very own choice whether or not to use Magic Find or not.
It’s your own choice whether or not you want to be a burden for your group or not.

Just like it’s your own choice whether or not you want to back stab someone in your group or one of your friends. Yeah, It’s selfish but that’s what magic find or luck always is.
Luck is nothing you can give someone else. It’s something you just have.
Plus magic find is not the greatest thing ever.

“Wow I increased the chance to drop this item. Instead of a chance of 0.01% I now have a chance of 0.02% thanks to 100% magic find!”

There’s a simple trick. You can use the offensive infusion ring and buy a defensive infusion ring. Then you have the attributes you want on both and you can equip both.
I would also advice you to do the fractals of the mist instead of buying the rings. The rings are the only ascended gear you can drop of the fractals of the mist yet. You’ll come much cheaper. Plus you can buy them once you reach level 10 by just doing 10 daily runs.
