From what I saw the last combo field counted towards the combo….

I think what you observed were projectile finishers. I think I saw them becoming whatever they travel through first. Not sure here or with leap finishers. But finishers within multiple fields (especially blast) do use the oldest field.

It was an explosion combo finisher with me using the explosive arrow (3rd warrior long bow skill)

There is no difference in 30m and 1h buffs from recipe. If you could stack 30m buffs 1h buffs would be useless.

Also if you’re crazy like hell you might glitch your game/server by stacking buffs up reaching an overflow.

I agree the supporter tokens require some kind of bonus. I’m at the edge of deleting them.

I have like 148 Kiel ones and 149 Evon ones.

The idea is to remove peoples decision on mf or stats. For example someone wants to run a dungeon. Do I go on MF to get better loot or should I go for stats to help my group get more dmg? Arenanet tries to fix this by removing the MF from gear.
Most players do not use consumables for stat bonus. (Heck that would be too expensive to some players) so MF food is totally fine.

I never thought of Guardian being overpowered. Never had problems with them either. The only thing you could fix would be some traits to decrease the massive healing.

Still imo Guardian isn’t overpowered.

And add a buff people gain once they join the jumping puzzle for the first few times.

But there is already a buff for players who don’t want to engage in fights – the three mystic fountains I already mentioned. Every use of the magic fountain grants five minutes of invisibility which means no matter how much you are inexperienced the only thing you need to do is follow people and keep away from the fights.

1. how to get past the groups of enemies at the start?
2. how to get past after the beginning of the dark room as you are supposed to give up invisibility to get through with the torches?
3. how to get past groups of enemies past the dark room?

→ keep in mind people who never did the jp before have no idea where to go, how to jump, they don’t even know there are traps that can’t be activated. There’s no tutorial on the mechanics of this jumping puzzle.

Imo arenanet should increase drop chance of items in the fractals of the mists depending on the difficulty you play. Fractals 40+ should have no or almost no blue’s left imo.

Guys. I understand very well that the jumping puzzle should stay PvP. I have no problem with that. However those 8-12% that come from PvE:
- achievement fanatics
- jumping puzzle fanatics
They want to do their stuff and have their fun and get stalked, killed, slayed to death by people driven by their blood thirst enjoying others pain and death.

Suggestion:
Keep the pvp for people who want to slay.
And add a buff people gain once they join the jumping puzzle for the first few times.

What’s the use of the buff? People get to know the jp, see how it works, see how and where you can run away or defend the best. Currently you’re thrown into the jumping puzzle, you’re searching for the path but will hardly ever find it due to enemies keep on killing you whenever you look around or search.

I wanna be able to throw 4 fractal rings to get out another ring and I want a recipe to salvage fractal weapons in the mystical forge getting fractal items.

So I don’t horde useless rings but am able to get the rest of the gear that is currently e.g. only available for guild commendations and other currencies that have nothing to do with fractals.

Shield in left hand should be possible being as “left handed”.
It’s the only thing I find weird.

You’re like playing and only fight with your left hand. However your right hand is hardly ever used. Does it hurt so much to swing your right hand?

But I understand as they make the right hands abilities stronger than the left hands (guess everyone in Tyria has a strong right :P)

If life gives you an PvE, don’t farm stuff.
Make life take the PvE back!
Get mad! I don’t want your kitten PvE! What am I supposed to do with it?
Play an MMORPG running around enjoying exploring and farming?
Make life rue the day it thought it could give Guild Wars 2 PvE! Do you know who I am? I’m the man whose gonna burn your PvE down – with the PvP!
I’m gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible PvP that’ll burn your PvE down!

The point is. PvE is an important part of MMORPG’s and so people join people who only enjoy PvE join the game. This group of people needs to be kept alive. ArenaNet is giving them some extra stuff to do: Achievements.

Hope you understand this reason why achievements could never be PvE only..

Heh, in my case it’s “Hint Completion”. 80/83, and I have no idea what are the missing 3! (Well, I’m fairly certain that there’s 2 more for the Thief and Engineer special mechanics, but the last one? Not a clue.)

You can actually check which ones are missing you by clicking the hint button or using it’s short cut (top right question mark in a circle symbol) and searching for non ticked hints.

I don’t think I understand your sentence in any regard. Could you please re-write it for me?

When you do CoF p1 and switch your character and do CoF p1 again you only gain 30 tokens instead of the full 60. I have no idea why but waiting 5+ minutes will allow you to get the full 60.

Definitely go for healing. Thieves with healing are the most annoying ever….

99.99% of people come to WvW to PvP. Without PvP, WvW would be completely pointless.

I find this funny. Because this isn’t true at all on most servers.
Guessed numbers but still:
about 60% of the people in WvW do WvW
about 10% of the people in WvW only do Map completion (avoiding enemies)
about 18% of the people in WvW do PvP
about 12% of the people in WvW do the acheivements

This simulation proved exactly my point.
Probability on case A ~ 44% and on case B ~47%. Therefor, the expected values based on given probabilities could be used.

Well I have to add to this that I again used the highest value of 3 throws on each. If I wouldn’t have it might have varied again. I mean just look at it there’s only a small difference. One crit more or one crit less already means the result will be different.

Anyways. The decision which you wanna choose of the builds depends on you. Sure the first one does a higher damage but if you think you are lucky with critical hits the second one is your choice. Then again if you play warrior the first one is your choice definitely (due to easy crit chance increase by few abilities with small cool down. :P)

Chances are a source of luck. Sometimes you crit often some times you never crit. So your damage depends on luck. If you go for Build B. In the first program runs it were 10 attacks. So if you have enough luck to crit more often with 47% than 44% you get more damage out. Now it’s different.

Improving the condition damage system

@GreenNekoHaunt: Currently Necromancers are inflicting bleed, poison and burn extremly fast, additionally cripple, chill, vulnerability, blind and fear. It’s not just their fear, to have burn gave them just access to far too many conditions. Even having max condition removal (like aether renewal on the elementalist) you can’t clean all these conditions anymore, they are just too many and inflicted way too fast to get rid of them.

Keep in mind burning has cool down of 10 seconds and holds only 4 seconds giving you 6 seconds with no condition. The elementalist has more abilities than just aether renewal to remove quite a handful of boons. Plus a necromancer usually has quite a handful of cooldowns on their staff abilities and those can still be dodged if you know how and when to.

It is as I mentioned in another thread the players decision on how much condition removal they put on them. Then again you have to divide PvE from PvP as in PvP the condition damage is much stronger than in PvE.
The necromancer is supposed to be the class with the most conditions.
If you know how to fight a condi necromancer than you can do so.
I bet I know plenty of tricks I also use on my PvE elementalist to remove plenty of conditions.

Cond necro can be a really great and dangerous class. At least if you know how to use your conditions and how to use epidemic with the best result.

He’s definitely range, with no doubt. Fun thing is you can play necro on damage dealer on pseudo range using axe + fokus and staff (+10% dmg from staff etc.).

You might also take a look at mesmer. He usually stays far away sending all his clones and doing range attacks.

Trolling and annoying? Guardian, Thief, Mesmer and sometimes Necro are the most annoying classes imo. Guardian keep healing themselves to max health, mesmers have too many clones xDD thieves are always invisible and appear from nowhere with high damage. And necro’s keep doing small fears and throwing tons of condition on you.

For this i don’t agree.
The critical chance highly impacts the damage you deal. Being critical damage at least 150% normal damage, and the more you hit critical hits (higher Chance), the biggest is your damage. Of course, i agree with you that it’s nothing more than statistics. But they will tend to the real value on higher number of hits.

Well the OPs question was how much power 1% crit would be equivalent. Afterwards he asked which would be better: more power less crit or more crit less power.
So in both cases crit chance plays only a smaller role or none.

The best way to test damage is simulating chances in my opinion. When simulation a chance you get a better look at it then using a pseudo chance for calculation.

Using a swiftly written program in java I calculated 10 attacks and wrote down the best of 3 throws:

Considering the following formula with your data:

Being :
ED -> Effective Damage – Statistical Effective Damage you will deal.
P -> Power – Attribute
Ch -> Critical Chance (Chance to land a critical hit, on %)
Cd -> Critical Damage (Critical hit damage increment, on %)
K -> Constant -> dependent on opponent Armor, Skill multiplier and Weapon used.

The Effective damage formula is:
ED = K * P * [Ch * (150+Cd)/100 + (100-Ch)] / 100

Being ED1 the damage inflicted with P=2251, Ch=44% and Cd=112%,
and Being ED2 the damage inflicted with P=2133, Ch=47% and Cd=115%;

ED1 = 1,0181 x ED2.

The first setup statistically will deal more damage. Not much though.

This would be cool as a very slow, controllable fall. I love the idea, but I’m not sure if it would be wise to put it in the game because of the advantage it would give in jumping puzzles.

there would be no advantage if they will put it far enough from them and you won’t be able to reach them. As you said, it is a fall not a climb

There are jumping puzzles where you have to reach a certain point below you with the least falling damage.

Improving the condition damage system

Condition damage should not be nerfed in PvE. Necromancers fear should be nerfed in PvP but usually conditions are no problem in PvP if you know how to clean yourself from them. And seriously. A PvP player without condition removal is like a PvP player without stun breaker. It’s your own choice not to break stuns or remove conditions.

Necromancers fear needs to be nerfed in PvP. It’s or was the strongest condition in-game and increases in damage by 50% for each condition on your enemy. That’s usually about 50%-5×50% dmg.

The titles are achievements the rest is a pure mix of tasks and achievements.

You can’t call it tasks nor achievements. However now a days there are many achievements that are easy to achieve. (Look at the Flash Game Achievements Unlocked)

The decisions to choose the tiers are really confusing.
When you’re on rang 2 you can:

go 1 tier up (rang 3)
keep (rang 2)
go 1 tier down (rang 1)

When you’re rang 3 or higher you can:

go 1 tier up (rang 4)
keep (rang 3)
go 1 tier down (rang 2)
go 2 tiers down (rang 1)

Coincidence, but I’m happy with that choice.

I use:

PvE/WvW:
- When fighting greater aggro: great sword + bow
- When fighting single enemies: greatsword + rifle
PvP:
- Axe & Maze + Hammer

I’m skilled on might stack in PvE, and survival + damage in PvP

0% crit dmg = 1.5x dmg on crit
1% crit dmg = 1.51x dmg on crit

So for 2000atk:
2000atk*1.5 = 3000 ==> 2000atk*(1.5-1) = 1000atk
2000atk*1.51 = 3020 ==> 1020atk*(1.51-1) = 1020atk

So the formula for attack difference would be: atk*(0.5+(critDmg/100))
Formula for the power difference would be: pow*(0.5+(critDmg/100))

(calculated for 80 character in a level 80 area)


About your last question:

First Build:
3232atk 44%crit 112%critDmg
atkOnCrit = atk*(1.5+(112/100)) = 3232*(1.5+1.12) = 3232*(2.62) = 8467

Second Build:
3114atk 47%crit 115%critDmg
atkOnCrit = atk*(1.5+(115/100)) = 3114*(1.5+(1.15) = 3114*(2.65) =8252


Apprently the second build does less damage but has a 3% increased crit chance.

I have no idea how good crit chance is you would need to write a test program to simulate attacks.

This would require whole Guilds to join Eternal Battleground just to be able to move on.

There need to be Guild Housing before an Guild Arena works perfectly.

The difference by other games and guild wars is that leveling up in both Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2 teaches you skill after skill, trait after trait. You learn to play the profession you have. There’s no other use to levels in gw2. They only tell how experienced you are and what skills you have with your created character.

Yes, but you need to combine it with something else. pure healing is useless. You’ll need healing + damage or healing + condition damage to be able to kill your opponents. Healing + defense requires you to have a good base damage.

Then again PvP and PvE is a difference.

Humans kill special humans, Charrs kill special charrs, asura’s kill special asura’s.
Skritts never kill othere skritts usually.

Why? Skritt intelligence depends on the amount of skritt living together. The more skritt live together the more clever they are.

Asura start out clever and still don’t always get along. So I doubt cleverness is the factor. The truth is we don’t know why skritt usually never kill other skritt. It may easily just be because all the skritt we come across belong to the same individual groups that we are either killing or freinds with. So our skritt allied groups would have no problems killing rival skritt groups because those rival skritt groups would qualify as “special skritt” just like all the other races that kill themselves.

True thing that asura’s are intelligent and still don’t get along.

Then again you don’t need multiple Asura’s to get the intelligence.
Skritt need other Skritts to increase their intelligence. A skritt killing another skritt is like an Asura asking to kill his intelligence. There are no Asura’s killing their intelligence.
