Yeah it is supposed to do that. But Anet keeps adding achievements PvE players hunt for. Either they remove the WvW achievements from PvE living stories or create an extra type of living story for WvW.

Are you blind or just ignorant? Why do you repeat this “this is PvE story, PvE achi” mantra while indeed the achievement is clearly PvP.

It is clearly a PvE achievement in a PvE achievement category placed in a PvP environment in WvW. What’s your problem?

And I’m saying it doesn’t belong there.
Anet should definitely NOT mix PvE WvW and PvP in living stories even if they’re intentions were only regarding the finishing and not killing players.

Plus some people only do WvW, others only do PvP and again some only do PvE.
Those WvW people can only do 1 achievement.
The PvP guys can do about 2-4 achievements.
The PvE guys can do the whole rest.

I know I don’t mind the whole thing. I’m doing PvP PvE and WvW but I’m taking the point of view from a person that is not as good in jumping puzzles as a jump & run fan I am and that doesn’t do PvP and/or WvW for example.

Well then again this would give people like me the ability to gain even more achievement points though….

The game disagrees with you. It’s a pvp achievement in a pvp zone. I’m really sorry but that’s how it is. If you want PVP achievements, you’ll have to PVP. I don’t get the fuss.

I can’t find any achievement in PvP nor WvW or any other references besides having a “World” in it and being listed in a living story category with the rest being pure PvE. Strange isn’t it?

I think the open world will also be very funny seeing skritt-players killing skritts for events or quests. Logic . . . you heard about it?

The same kinda logic that has humans killing humans, charr killing charr, asura killing asura, etc, etc. :P

Humans kill special humans, Charrs kill special charrs, asura’s kill special asura’s.
Skritts never kill othere skritts usually.

Why? Skritt intelligence depends on the amount of skritt living together. The more skritt live together the more clever they are.

The thing about necro tank healer is that he reaches the amount of armor a warrior has and a high amount of health: Health: 22k-28k Armor: 3k
The minions do damage each when siphoning health, the necromancer does damage when siphoning health plus the normal damage he and the minions do from normal attacks.

I’m playing my double dagger elementalist on heal. And I must say it’s great. Everytime I switch to water I’m able to heal myself to max or almost max. The only problem is that it’s not worth it if you do not switch through the elements much.

Doing various events or things for a legendary? If this would be implemented I’d definitely go through the kitten to get one.

Currently I can only dream of a legendary as crafting one is pain…

It would still be a grind and would still take ages but certain aspects could be as above mentioned linked to events to make certain parts or something, they just feel like empty skins and not really worthy of having the status of “legendary”

Especially seeing as seeing as how you pretty much dont need to do anything to get them other then grind items or buy them. It would be nice if you had to complete certain challenges and Legendary specific story driven quests.

The keyword is >>various<<.

People do fractals of the mists for 30 runs and call it farming but it’s not that bad. Each run is different and has a different experience. This is what I’m waiting for. I don’t wanna do the same thing over and over to get what I want. I wanna do various things to get what I want. To have some change in the cycle.

Once you are attacked or attack an enemy or opponent once you’re forced to kill them to finish the jumping puzzle. I find it stupid for a person only going for account wide achievements or self satisfication through completion to be forced to do pvp in a jumping puzzle.

Edit: by now I’m a great pvp player and usually 1vs1 I always or almost always win.

Well at least for the first time you’re doing it. I once was going through the dark path with my friend and a necromancer killed me. My friend finished the jumping puzzle and I had to wait at the beginning for a random person to walk with.

Guys, keep in mind people doing that jumping puzzle for the first time have to fight other people and search for the path as well. You can’t expect that much or more of some people. I find it unfair for those that aren’t as good at jumping nor pvp but really enjoy jumping puzzles and are interested in exploring the obsidian one but no people tend to be mean and doing their pvp stuff so explorers can’t get what they seek.

I find it perfectly fair if you say “I don’t want to hurt and I don’t wanna be hurt” and then you’re off while people who say “I wanna hurt and I want to be hurt” can fight others who share their opinion.

Commander Tag in PvE

WvW and PvE should be divided here. You should be able to get PvE commander for 100g and WvW commander for a certain amount of badges of honor as well as a certain rang. Or even putting in a certain amount of rang points to gain commander and/or commander powers.

Changing the look of Orr

Huhu, add a new event equal or similar to the story where you have to capture Orr’s Spring. The difficulty of this event depends on the players as well as the current state of Orr.

Enemies that spawn depending on the other world events:
Always:
Risen Brute, Risen Defender,
Temple of Balthazar:
Risen Berserker, Risen Wizard,
Cathedral of Eternal Radiance:
Risen Creature, Risen Mesmer
Cathedral of Zephyrs:
Risen Corruptor, Risen Chicken,
Temple of Melandru:
Risen Spiders, Risen Eagle,
Temple of Grenth:
Risen Acolytes, Risen Wraith
Doors of Arah:
Eye of Zhaitan, Risen Abomination, Giant (Risen);

After this event was successful the place has to be protected for 15 minutes. (if possible orr may turn normal during the protection process or else…)
If the event is successful as well Orr will turn more or less normal. The spring will be attacked by zhaitans minions all 45 minutes or so and again the amount of minions depends on how many temples have been lost to zhaitan and how many players are there.

“Zhaitan has no power over orr itself. If we clean the spring from the pollution orr may turn to it’s previous glory. We need to defeat Zhaitan to purify the ruins of Arah.”

Jumping Puzzle improvement so more enjoyable

Nah, Jumping Puzzles do not need any change. But I guess Anet could add something into the direction of an “easy mode” where you can get up to the point you fell down or having checkpoints.

This would also allow better loot for those not using the easy mode.
Hardcore jump & run players like me are still able to do the jumping puzzles as they are and those with less skills can get the achievement and the old loot.

There should be a new buff:
“Spiritual Movement”
“Player can’t be attacked and can’t attack”
That is removed once you finished the eternal battlegrounds jumping puzzle. I don’t think the other jumping puzzles need anything they’re short for a good reason. I never had trouble getting through those.

Rewards from the bonus chests at the bottom left aren’t achieved they stay till the space in your inventory has made.

Rewards from chest in the world or anything that lies as object in the world will stay exactly where you’d try to pick them up.

Definitely not. No, to both.
I agree with balancing but the downed state needs to stay.

The downed state makes PvP, WvW and PvE unique giving you a last chance instead of dying instantly.

It’s one of the reasons I like Guild Wars 2 so much.
However as I said it needs balancing not removal.

Each kill counts kitten points and gives 5 stacks of any stackable sigil.

I see no reason to make kills even more important as most people farm kills in tournaments which is wrong as they’ll lose to the opposite team that way.

I never head problems with my necro not doing enough damage. Especially in PvP.

I’m playing a berserker – soldier oriented necro and build.

In PvP: 30 20 20;
In PvE: 25 0 20 25 0;

I use dagger, focus for controlling as well as high dps
and a staff for conditions.
I use both wells that inflict damage and usually in combination to get out 5k ticks for 6seconds.
I also use the signet to be more swift and my elite varies through all 3 necro elites.

Sure it may take me longer to kill a veteran than a warrior. But honestly as long as I see the bar dropping smoothly over time I’m happy.

No, they can’t do that. The reason why things stack up to 250 is because 255 is the highest number you can store on a byte. They choose 250 because it’s the closest “rounded” number.

The problem with this lies at the core of the game, which is why it’s so hard/taking them so long to implement this. There are a lot of possibilities to screw things up big time, cause exploits or bugs etc.

Than why not using a short (16bit integer) instead of a byte (8bit integer)?
Or a long (32bit integer). :P
If ArenaNet was clever enough to place the max stack number into a variable using soft coding this is a question of 2 changes:
- change the max stack size variable
- change the stack size variable from byte to short

Levels in GW2 aren’t as worthy as in other games. They only determine your skill advance.
What GW2 tries to do is keeping playing in lower areas as fun as playing in high level areas.
They want that you playing with your friends still are challenged by the content of lower areas. However you may or may not notice that your power increased by weapon and armor.

Actually aggro should depend on the intelligence of the mob.

An intelligent mob attacks the player with least armor but highest damage.
An unintelligent mob (e.g. Zhaitans servants) attack the players with the highest damage ignoring the armor.

If I were an foe I would always attack the player that dies fast but does too much damage.

A few points I want to mention:
1. skills should be weapon dependent
Each weapon is used different allowing different skills. Enough said.
2. more weapon skills is awesome
Definitely. The more skills the more variety.
3. alternate weapon skills should be unlocked by using the weapon
Definitely. You keep using a weapon to learn to use it differently. Alternate weapon skills could be allowed to be unlocked at a higher level. Making the higher levels (after 30 if I’m correct) more interesting. Currently levels 30-79 include no new changes except some traits.
4 more skills means more work for balancing but allowing build and trait variety
This is something Anet currently tries to achieve. They want to balance by not forcing a player to use a certain build to be powerful.

About the UI clutter: It won’t be cluttered at all. You have an arrow above your 1-5 skills once you reach level 40, 50, 60, 70 and 80 you will be able to swap your weapon skills. They are then saved for this weapon for this weapon set for the entire time.
No UI clutter, no trouble getting confused as newbie and much more.

This has potential as well as more variety.

Dead Wars 2

The “good” NPC’s are almost always weaker or outnumbered.

Sure the player is supposed to help and do the most in the quests but a Soldat should be better than that. Also another think I noticed is that the “army” of Lion arch seems to consist of 20-80 man. Sorry but.. that’s not an army.

Seperate Living World into World and Story

It’s a living story because it’s telling a story that is progressing over time.

The story that is being told has it’s own life. It does not depend on me, you or anyone. It depends on itself.

Personal story depends on you because it’s the >>personal<< story.
Living story depends on nothing because it lives itself.

Living world is what we already have. Dynamic events, world bosses, event chains etc. that is living world. A world that lives on it own changing without the player required.
The only thing missing to make living world complete is that NPC’s are able to do quests themselves just as well. Getting a balance between good and evil. That’s what would make the living world perfect.

From my understand and how I would interpret the developers opinion and decision.

Seperate Living World into World and Story

Living Story is supposed to be different from the character Story.

It was introduced to slowly apply small permanent changes as well as leaving some items to the players testing new features in short time watching for opinions of the players themselves.

“Living Story” means it’s a story that is progressing in “live time”.
If you miss something you obviously missed it usually for forever.
If you miss a certain event near you then you missed it.

Most Applicable Weapon for My Elementalist

I use Dagger Dagger for general PvE and Staff for WvW or Party PvE. I will do dungeons with staff as well and PvP.. well I don’t know.

I think Dagger Dagger or Dagger scepter have good abilities that I find really cool.
With Dagger Dagger you can use:
Earth – 4 (throws enemy to ground)
Switch to Air
Air – 5 (throws enemy to ground, take distance)
Air – 4 (get near enemy while attacking)
Switch to Fire
Dodge back (get distance)
Fire – 3 (jump through inflicting burning)

However this requires you to be near the enemy which is bad for your health so I advice staff when fighting stronger enemies or bosses if you have no one to steal your aggro.

4. It’s called instance not dungeon and it is single player as Anet is testing single player instances as few people said on the forum that they hate searching for people.

I agree with the rest except about SAB. I agree with SAB being permanent but I find it okay to be temporal as long it’s not finished. This is probably the reason SAB can’t be accessed. Anet is working on it whenever they find the time. We don’t wanna join an alpha SAB world 2 where you can fall off the world into the infinite nothing having to delete and recreate a new character :P

I don’t think the living story dungeons should stay but instead we should get a new dungeon that uses the ideas that has been tested in living stories.

Anet themselves said they’re using the living story to test things.
And if you look at the living story you might notice what they’ve been testing:

- new game fight concept (Flame & Frost)
- collecting (Flame & Frost)
- single player dungeons (Southsun)
- defeating bosses without bashing on them (Southsun)
- farming items and monsters (Dragon Bash)

and more to come. They’re introducing plenty of new features and ideas trying to see our reaction to that to decide how to design following permanent features.

For WvW.. just wait for the next week and your color might change. So unless your server is extremely bad in WvW, always losing their bases then you should be good.

Definitively not the main currency. The main currency should be pristine fractal relics or fractal relics as ascension was actually introduced for fractals. Now it’s used for fractals and WvW.

o.O the warrior vengeance skill has a cooldown longer than the time it takes to spike somebody… twice… in what way does this protect against stability? (vengeance doesn’t even protect you if they don’t have stability as your 2 skill doesn’t buy you enough time against 1 opponent)

Usually when a Warrior in pvp uses vengeance skill they are invincible to fear. Regardless of stability or not. The necromancer can only fear. And almost every other class has a counter. I think guardian and engineer have no way to counter stability either.

At the current state in e.g. PvP this means whenever you’re downed you’re dead. Which makes being downed useless. Especially since 1 vs 1 should definitely be possible and balanced from the normal fight till being downed.

While thieves make themselves invisible and elementalists get temporal invulnerability as well as warriors standing up again. Necromancers, Guardians and engineers can only hope for their foes not putting up stability or invincibility when killing the downed players.

The entrance to the FoTM needs to be in the LA as the Consortium sends you a message to invite you to the FoTM once you reach level 80.

How to get pristine fractal relics

You get pristine fractal relic daily for each character you run fractals when:

Your reward level is at least 10.
The fractal level you do is at least 10.
The fractal level you do is even.
Your current character hasn’t gotten one already.

If you divide your reward level through 10 you get the max amount of pristine fractal relics you can get per day per character.

Example:
With the reward level of 28 you would get 2 pristine fractal relics by running fractals level 10 and 24.
