Being able to drop and buy items required to upgrade ascended gear sounds only fair for those who only play WvW. However these items should be really rare to equal the effort you would put into it in PvE doing FoTM and those who did FoTM know exactly that it requires a lot of effort/time.

It would be cool if bags were sold in WvW equally to PvP. The higher your rank the better the bags you can buy. Thus you get an extra bonus for actually spending your time in increasing your rank with a certain character.

1) The devs are trying to make every profession balanced so it merely depends on your personal opinion.
2) 1. Humans 2. Asuras
3) Charrs aren’t seen as much unfortunately imo.
4) Not at all
5) 80 however this might or might not chance in future. There are some testing weapons that have level 98. The level says hardly anything though. It only determines how far you can go (area wise) and what items you drop.

6) On NA I would say Tarnished Coast, on Europe I’d say: Vizunah, Elona or Desolation.

There is going to come an axe in the next living story, 100% sure. However I wonder what will follow it? An infinite pickaxe again?

If they cycle the infinite items in all the living stories I will have a different infinite item for each and every of my characters. That’d be cool.

Next someone suggests a condition called “Cursed” that transforms every boon your enemy tries to put on them into opposive condition.
(e.g.: regen -> poison; protection -> vulnerability; etc.)

What I personally would like to see is something into the direction of “disorientation” which switches your movement controls for a certain time. (usually to opposite direction)

But this? This is indeed, as mentioned before, overpowered. Especially against Guardian.

Well, before the Orr team gets too depressed reading this, I’ll say that I love Orr and everyone I play with love it, too. Whenever we level a new character, we all find Orr both the quickest to map and the mokittenn (why does "most"+"fun" get kittened?) to map, too. Frankly, I’d be overjoyed if all the zones were reworked to play like Orr (no hearts).

I love orr as it is too. I also like how cursed shores got less undead than Malchors Leap since the risen is moving north leaving the cursed shores. Though some events (like Grenth) seem a bit too hard as it can easily fail swiftly even with 20+ people.

“most” + “fun” is kittened because of it saying “f” + “u” which is a short form of the f-word.

Fractals of the mists is a dungeon where puzzles, jumping and fighting.
You seem to be unlucky to have gotten those where there’s hardly any fighting.

9 months later, I still can't choose a class!

I started the game with a necromancer and then made a elementalist, warrior and guardian and I have to say the necromancer fits well quite well.

1) Yes, it is possible to solo with necromancer as long you don’t fight 3+ enemies on the same level as you. Even though you’re squishy (lots of health → taking in quite a bunch of attacks) you might go down too fast if there are too many enemies on the same level as you (referring to the effective level). Thus skill fights are no problem in almost all cases. Plus if your health near to null you have death shroud to do heavy attacks and take in some more. (You can also use death shroud to get off any height or easily solve jumping puzzles were you only need to get down to a certain point and on jumping puzzles were you die when you fall off you can try again instead of requiring to teleport)

2) All of the necromancers skills are single target with the exception of staff. Which are near/range AoE’s unfortunately. The damage of attacks is either low with high DPS or low with debuffing the enemy to ignore x% of it’s armor making the end damage high again.

3) You will require to dodge every now and when an enemy uses special attacks or when agony attacks (in case you’re going to do Fractals of the Mists). However as I already mentioned the necromancer is a squishy class. He can soak up quite some attacks and in case the life goes too low he has the death shroud which allows him to soak up even more attacks.

4) There are a few classes though not many which allow a hell lot of builds.
Warrior belongs to the ones with not as much builds (sure there is berserker, tank and etc.) but there aren’t as many as guardian, elementalist or necromancer.

Elementalist can be skilled on healing, berserker, tank, hybrid, condition damage, arcane etc.
Guardian can be skilled on full support, berserker, tank, hybrid, healing, retaliation, ritualist etc.
Necromancer can be skilled on berserker, tank, hybrid, condition damage, death master, minions, blood seeking, etc.

Well I could make a list of how much dyes I find per day starting from last week Friday:

Fr 24.5 – 3 Dyes (3 from Enemies)
Sa 25.5 – 2 Dyes (2 from Enemies)
So 26.5 – 1 Dye (1 from Enemies)
Mo 27.5 – 4 Dyes (1 from node, 3 from black lion chest)
Tu 28.5 – 1 Dye (1 from black lion chest)

I was originally only going to put Necro but its unrealistic to expect that a single profession would get the weapon, so I listed the classes that have the most weapons as placeholders, really. I would just like to see a necro melee build that doesn’t involve daggers.

Well you have dagger and axe as alternative for melee. For range fight you have.. the staff and… well the staff.. and the staff… did I mention the staff already?

Though staff only does ranged AoE traps. I’d love to see something else too. Actual dark magic not just traps.

I agree that the FoTM “reward-system” is a total flop. The only thing it’s worth is to determine whether or not you drop certain types of essence, fractal weapons, pristine fractal relics, rings and infused rings.

That makes sense since personal story would be a problem if not completed, but what if in next expansion we get a new story that follows your Order and some choices from your past?

I don’t see the problem. If you do not use the kit you can continue as before.
If you use it you begin the story from 0. You have to basically redo your character (styling, colors etc.) so you can choose the new story options there.
Only thing that stays: level + inventory + bank + crafting level + WvW level;

Problem I see here: what happens to race based armor?

I hope so. I want to see something different than the AoE traps… I expected much better attacks than those. (not saying they’re bad.. they’re just not.. attractive imo.

Excellent idea, I subscribe! I play at least 20 dungeon runs every day and not having an option to skip all cinematic it is painful…

You can all click “skip” in each scene. Since you’re invincible during a scene it might seem a bit annoying but I honestly think it’s not a big thing that requires a big change. Except the “skip all story scenes” button would be no work for the devs.

This already is going to be fixed. On Tuesday or Friday WvW matches are a bit more random.

EDIT: I just looked on mos and well.. There’s nothing that can help you. Your enemy is always the third last. If Blacktide isn’t able to keep up with the servers above them you’re stuck with Blacktide.

The actual problem here is that there’s a huge WvW activity gap between you and Blacktide.

There’s no enemy weaker than Blacktide or Arborstone.

Not all masterworks give a confirmation pop up. I don’t know what the criteria is though..

The button should be NULL at first having the player set it as people who do not know may salvage an item not getting a pop up by accidentally pressing the respective key.

Yeah, but from what I understood the OP wants a button that allows you to directly jump to the end boss skipping the dungeon content to only get the last chest as well as the achievements and dungeon completion rewards.

Dye Drop Rate

Don’t know. Since release, my boyfriend has had regular dye drops, while for me they’re very, very rare. You would think that over the course of so many months it would even out, especially as I play more than he does. But no.

I am now convinced that “dye drop chance” is a hidden stat on our characters. :P

Maybe those “luck accounts” or “luck characters” really exist?

Create a Mega Millions Lottery

Actually… you can already make a lottery. You pay in 20c into the “lottery” and ask people for participating for each 10c and give them an up counting number. After a certain amount of people you have a certain amount of cash in the lottery. Then you take off 20c, use a random number generator to get a random number which determines the winner.

Now depending on how you want to do it you can:
give the winner the full prize minus your 20 copper.
give the first winner 50% of prize; the second 25% and the third 12.5% (by using the random generator 3 times) and you take in the rest (12.5%)

You can also use a random number generator to generate the numbers of people’s as well. However this will increase the loss rate of people and discourages.

The only problem is that you have to make people agree to sending you money (small amounts in copper always encourage people to say “ok, let’s try”.)

It’s fully possible to make a lottery. It lies in the communities hand.

No but someone else can use towers of furniture to get a reward from a player that has an Endless Mystery Tonic (Chest) at the end of the “furniture jumping puzzle”.

Depending on the price of ectoplasm you get 20-50s per ectoplasm per 15 T5 mats.

Keeping in mind that level 76+ rares have a good chance of a 0-3 ectoplasm drop.
Remembering the current price is around 21s you get 0-63s for 15 T5 mats.

So the mystic forge recipe seems out of place here. I’d agree with crafting rares from T5 mats or selling T5 mats.

Best starting area to level up?

In my opinion all of the character starting areas are good however you need to be careful in Province Metrica and Ascalon as you may find level jumps and/or strong enemies. You should avoid the undead as well.

GW2 xp are calculated in percentage. You never lose any xp.

There are xp that are area dependent (resources)
There are xp that are self level dependent (hearts, events)
There are xp that are character dependent (waypoints, dungeon runs)

If you do a heart with level 80 or level 4 comes to the same result. You always get the same xp from it.

Sure you can decide whether to do it or to leave it for when you reached 80 as you need more xp with higher level to increase your level and heart quests always give the same xp if they have the same level.

But off-hand skills can’t be combined very well with main hand skills as all off-hand skills have a great cool down and the animations do not fit.

I’d love to use an off-hand sword after the second main-hand strike to strike with the off-hand sword and giving a last hit with the main-hand sword.

The explanation of water is more plausible than “for no obvious reason there is a barrier you can not pass” if you ask me. And how do people know there is a no landing zone where JP’s are? They’d probably believe it’s a bug.

Something similar has already been made. You get more WXP for killing enemies that have a higher rang than you. So killing an attacker when you’re an intruder you get more WXP than killing another intruder.

No More Rare Materials

Chests are not effected by MF and Putrid Essence is a rare item it’s even in the category of rare items.

And MF does help and doesn’t help at the same time. If you drop an item with a 0.01% chance you drop it at a 0.05% chance with 400% MF.

Being rare has nothing to do with “can only be obtained at certain places”.
Being rare means it’s more difficult to obtain than masterwork.

Why changing monthly to 15? I find this good enough.

I like the idea of weekly but yearly seems a bit.. too long and will probably discourage at first.

On the wiki it says that retaliation damage is calculated this way for a level 80 character:

198.45 + (0.075 * Power)

Is this calculation for PvE, PvP or WvW?
